Disappointing Holiday Cruise on the Edge

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Celebrity Edge

User Avatar

Overall experience on the Edge was not up to expectations and I would not travel on this ship again due to the poor service and treatment of suite guest. I have traveled on Celebrity several times previously and this cruise was a disappointment due to the poor service. I totally understand that it was a holiday cruise, and it was going to be crowded. What I did not expect was the lack of staff ...

NIce, but not THAT nice

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Celebrity Edge

I chose Celebrity Edge because of the date, New Years on a boat. The hassle getting there makes me question if the whole experience was worth it. Getting the Covid19 tests during another rush was a disaster. We had to order online, which was twice the price of going to Walgreens. However, you couldn't find a home test at Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, Publix. There was none to be found. So, I ...

Aqua class overbooked, horrible PCR test process

My husband and I booked this cruise because it was a fully vaccinated cruise with reduced capacity and a promise to provide a PCR COVID test at the end of the cruise. Yes overall the ship’s capacity was reduced but not in Aqua class, it was at 100% capacity. As a result the Blu restaurant was full every night with no social distancing. I did speak to the maître d he tried to give us a table ...

Update to previous review "Some Good But Alot of Bad"

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Celebrity Edge

We've just completed the second of two back to back cruises. This review should be considered as an amplification of the first review we posted. Our opinion of the ship hasn't changed. The deck area for non-suite passengers is very overcrowded with loungers often jammed tightly uo against each other in rows of 12 or 15. I suggested in the previous review that this probably was due to the ...

Big Buildup for Bigger Let Down

Luminae Restaurant is not as good as it was on several other Celebrity ships. Public bathrooms are neglected, very few bar waiters or waitresses especially t the Martini bar and the Retreat pool area. The price is very high but you get little value. The suite room are lovely and there is plenty of storage space and a 2part bathroom, it was one of the better ship features. Food in specialty ...

Some Good But A lot of Bad

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Edge

The Good. Our stateroom is magnificent (Aqua Class). The theatre is outstanding. The food and service in the restaurants is up to Celebrity’s usual standard. The entertainment is very good. The Bad and the Downright Ugly. The pool area and deck space are OVERCROWDED with sunbeds jammed together in rows. The public spaces are OVERCROWDED with people racing to grab seats ...

As Elite status we’ve obviously taken Celebrity a lot. Arrive to check in - concierge suite, elite status- suppose to have separate check in . I ask and was scoffed at by person with Celebrity ID tag “No special check in - just get in line” no smiles Tried to change dining time “ I can’t do that “ we were told I don’t know how many times we heard “can’t do that “ Breakfast service ...

AMAZING CRUISE (NOT IN A GOOD WAY!)

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Edge

My wife and I have cruised many times, 17 on Princess, 2 on Carnival, 1 on Commodore, 1 on Norwegian, 1 on Royal Caribbean, 1 on Viking, and this cruise on Celebrity, so we are fairly experienced cruisers. We have had all accommodations from Inside Cabins to Owner’s Suites, and cruise durations from five to 16 days. Our friends had cruised many times with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean, and we ...

Boring, concierge class meaningless

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Celebrity Edge

A travel agent recommended this cruise line. The ship was just fine, save for the sewer smell in the signature bar on 5th deck. It was there every time we stopped by. The ship skews very old -- over 70 for sure. We are 60 and 58, but we were noticeably more active than most on this ship. Besides eating, drinking, sitting at pool and gambling, there just isn't anything really to do. Except ...

A Disappointment

Platinum cruiser with RCCL. Wanted to try something new and was confident going "upscale" to Celebrity would be a safe choice. IT WAS NOT! The ship is new and high tech. Embarkation and disembarkation was excellent. That is the best I can say about my cruise. The MDR food was very disappointing. Nothing wowed me at all. The buffet was also bland and boring. It continues with ...
