We chose this cruise as we wanted an eastern Caribbean and southern to islands we have yet to explore and found this 14 day cruise. Little did we know that there is nothing for entertainment on this ship for anyone under the age of 60!!! The music is ideal for big bands, waltz and such which were popular in the 40's and 50's! Then we upgraded to get the water package as my wife needs water for medical reasons. But we were only able to get 1 bottle at a time and it was nearly an act of God to get more than that at a time! Like water is more precious than gold!!! And on a cruise that costs this much to get a case of flipping $10 water? Then have to wait until bedtime every 2-3 days to get it at that! The excursions are decent though over priced. You can do better and save money on your own shore side. Then the food. It was good, not exceptional, but they are on a schedule and take the food down by 10 pm every night no matter what! Then by 1030, the flipping ship is a near ghost town!!! Our ship was loaded with walkers and scooters and everyone over 60 thought this was wonderful as it isn't a party ship like the others and they can relax, take their naps daily and play Scrabble and cards daily and be in bed by 9 to 10pm and not have any partiers keeping them awake! Horrible cruise that I thought would never end! I will never cruise on Celebrity ever again! This is a cruiseline for old people that want quiet and no kids!!! Their whole idea of fun on sea days was name that tune! From the 40's, 50's and 60's!!! (ARE YOU FLIPPING SERIOUS???) Read Less

14 night Southern Caribbean Cruise – Miami 04/03/2018 This was our very first cruise, we travelled with friends who had also never cruised before, only spoken to friends who were seasoned cruisers. So it was with some trepidation, that we embarked on our first Caribbean cruise. Our trepidation in vain, when we arrived at the check-in desk. From that point to arriving at our the state room the embarkation couldn’t have been more simpler. For the 14 nights on board, the service from all the staff was exceptional. Our room attendant Jose, was superb, the waiting table staff in the dining rooms was also exceptional, knowledgeable about the menu’s and the wine lists, the bar staff all around the ship were all first class. The ship its self, exceeded expectations, pictures online didn’t do it justice. We spoke to many people on-board during our vacation, and all said we has “ set the bar high” for our first cruise with Celebrity, so I guess we will be booking our next cruise with Celebrity. There are a couple of things I would mention as some constructive criticisms. The shore excursions are expensive, Try some of the local taxi drivers on the islands, far more flexible with timings form coming back to the ship if you don’t want to stay on the beach all day !! The internet package is expensive for the Wi-Fi service you receive, very poor in places, especially in the state rooms where most people would want to make their private calls / facetime family back home, this is the one place where Wi-Fi should be easily available. The Classic drinks package does not cover enough of the basic drinks people would normally have, which then forces customers to upgrade to the premium package, an understandable move by Celebrity, but customers should be told or give a sample of the drink packages menus when booking their trips. I booked through Igloo.com, who when questioned said the Classic drinks package would suffice, it didn’t by a long way, we ended up upgrading to the premium drinks package. All this said, the whole trip was exceptional from beginning to end, a truly brilliant vacation, and a wonderful experience. Thank you Celebrity Cruises Read Less

First Time Celebrity. Several Holland America, Norwegian, Carnival, Royal Viking. This was the best of the best. Food was simply delicious. Entertainment was amazing. Cabin was very comfortable. # 6303. Staff were so down to earth and friendly. This is a great ship. Love the lay out of the vessel. I highly recommend this cruise line and this particular ship. We enjoyed all the ports of call. I cannot say enough about how happy we were to have been on this 14 day trip. This was more adult orientated. Only one child on board. We purchased the beverage package, and the unlimited WiFi. Yes, I would travel with Celebrity again . The ship was spotless. The gym was amazing. Loved the pools. Hot tubs, could have been a bit warmer. I think the show's onboard were some of the very best I have ever seen. Look forward to more travel ! Read Less

This is pretty much a repeat of last January's trip. Some might find it repetitious, but missing 5 ft. of snow to enjoy 14 days in the Caribbean, well I'll take repetitious! We departed from the Port of Miami(my first time)Before it was Ft.Lauderdale, where we've done several Cunard trips as well. The port facilities were fine. A/C helped keep the temps reasonable. It was busy as many arrived before their scheduled arrive time. This is a new tactic by Celebrity, to have a "staggered" arrive time. In theory it would work, but with many of us who overnighted in hotels, you have to be out by 11:00AM. So unless you want to drag around lots of luggage, you head to the terminal. We were on board in about an hour. Not being in Concierge class or a suite, we muddled through the lines. Once on board we were able to get to our room quicker than last year. Luggage arrived about an hour after us. Very smooth. We did lunch in Ocean View Cafe. Quick & easy. It's a bit hectic for first timers, but after your first time, it's pretty much routine. Dinner the fist night was a bit hectic(which we expect)The staff "rotates" around the MDR after each cruise, so I think it takes them a bit of getting used to. Vadym & Bernadette took great care of us through the trip. We will request them next year(if they're on board)Food overall was very good to a few times excellent. The only fish I don't really like is Talapia, so I ordered Salmon that particular night. As a note, the portions are smaller than last year, but extras, if you wished were no problem at all. Food in Murano & Qsine were excellent as well. We also did a lunch in Murano & Tuscan Grill as well. The Lobster in Murano's lunch was over cooked, something all of us noted. The rest of the food there was excellent, however. The Souffle' dessert was outstanding. We did one lunch in Bistro on 5. It was excellent. We kind of advise them on the crepes. The staff was as excellent as last year. We did note some cutbacks, that we felt caused them to rush around a lot more.Bernadette, our asst.waiter did much more carrying of food trays than assisting the diners. The room attendants had everything under control as well. We tend to be pretty neat,so we didn't give them a ton of work to do. I did not see the "towel" animals as last year. I think this is due to them having a few more cabins to clean. Though, some pax make a big deal about towel animals, it's not a problem with us. tHer were no nightly pillow chocolates, Oh the humanity of it!(Just kidding) We hear that due to the amount of complaints, they will be coming back to a pillow near you! We did find the entertainmaint to be excellent overall. Great shows. The comedians, especially Dan Wilson(hysterical)were great. The magicians(especially Ping Fei Su)were great as well. Did miss Perry Grant, as he was on vacation. The musicals were nice as before. Really quite razzel dazzel type shows. One was like a Cirque De Solei. Very nice. It's where you first saw Ping Fei Su. We chose the Eclipse for it's longer Caribbean cruise. This was 14 days. We've done Cunard to this point & with them doing few Caribbean trips we've had to look elsewhere. The ship was spotless with lots of artwork all around the ship. Some was nice, some rather strange, but still a lot of artwork. Makes the ship look nicer inside, I feel. For main dining we were in Moonlight Sonata(the MDR)The food here was excellent overall. Most portions were generous & variety was excellent. This was much better than our trips on Cunard in Britannia(the Grills, however are still the way to travel!)Waitstaff never made us feel rushed & there was most definately more staff per pax than was visible on Cunard. The Murano rest. was outstanding with food done in a French flair, well worth the cover charge. Qsine was more of a tasting venue, with small portions you chose from an I Pad. We felt the average pax might not go for this as it was a bit adventuresome. Being "foodies" we like trying new things. Restrooms were always being cleaned with attendants cleaning & folding cloth hand towels.Entertainment was nice but not over whelmingly great. The ship's band, while small had really good musicians. The show tunes were good & the players did their parts well. Most of them were really easy on the eyes(especially the guys!)The spa was nice, about the same as Cunard's Canyon Ranch. Prices were about equal, as well. The staff, overall really made you feel welcome. They seemed really interested if you having a good time. Ron Banks with his Zumba classes was really perky & gave the ladies a good workout. Perry Grant in Michaels Club was a great Cabaret type piano player with a great sense of humor. We've never seen anything quite like him on any other ship. He has a following that is legendary. Attend one of his shows & you'll see why. Worth booking again just to see him! Overall this was an outstanding trip & a great way to experience Celebrity. We do plan a trip next year mostlikely on the same ship, as they seem to have things down to a science. We liked the fact that it was an older crowd with few children. I hear Celebrity wants to change this. well don't!! At least keep Eclipse the way it is & you'll have us on future trips! Read Less

We returned home a few days ago from another wonderful Celebrity cruise. This time we were aboard Eclipse for the very first time. We have been aboard most every other of the Celebrity ships and were excited to see Eclipse and we were not disappointed. First of all I want to say that we finally tried a beverage package... the Premium Beverage Package. We have been very apprehensive about trying them because we were not sure that we were good candidates. Traditionally we would have 2-3 drinks before dinner each night and an occasional wine with dinner. What we found with the premium package was that we enjoyed several bottles of water throughout the day, were able to have a Cafe Americano instead of the usual brew that we do not care for, and we enjoyed a nice glass of wine each night with dinner. All in all it worked out wonderfully for us and we believe it was a very good convenience and value for us. Next... the ship! Eclipse is gorgeous, just as all of her sisters are. The staff were all wonderful and did an excellent job. I would have to rate this one of my favorite ships and favorite cruises. Dining in the main dining room- Our waiter.. while quiet, did a good job considering the demands put upon him by our large table paired with a couple of other tables. The assistant waiter stood way out and was amazingly congenial and efficient. Our dinners were excellent nearly every night and the atmosphere in the dining was perfect and fun for us. We truly enjoy the effort that goes into serving so many thousands of people... and they still find time to sing "Happy Birthday" and "Happy Anniversary" to people... I love hearing those little celebrations going on! Oceanview- We enjoyed breakfast each morning at our usual spot off the back of the Oceanview and were always pleased with the service and area. The only point I will make is that I hope they remove the awkward sofas back there like they did on Reflection and replace with usable tables.. it seems to be a hit on Reflection! At lunch in the Oceanview they are now offering individual salads each day, usually 4 different selections in nice glass dishes. Each of them were fresh and fun... and it really was a welcome addition to our lunch time routine! The only thing I would mention about them is that I think they should be more careful with the amount of onions they put in all of them.. of course that is a personal opinion :D. We went to Tuscan and Murano twice. Both were excellent as always and we appreciate the wonderful service, food and atmosphere that you experience with both of these. Lounges & Bars- At first we went to the martini bar, but we ended up meeting several others and the music was a bit too much for our conversations so we looked at it as a challenge and looked for a quieter area to suit our needs. We moved to Michaels Club, where we had a wonderful waiter set up a big seating area for us to sit and enjoy cocktails and conversation each evening. This worked out wonderfully. This about sums up our cruise... one of the best ever! I am grateful to be able to cruise as much as we do, and experience the things cruising has to offer... and I am especially grateful to still appreciate all of that after 55 cruises :). If anyone has any questions about Eclipse, feel free to ask! Happy cruising! Read Less
