Everything was fantastic. The ports of call were fantastic. I liked all of them very much, however Bergen was quite rainy and cold. That made it a little difficult to get out and find our way around very easily. Flam and Geiranger were a little more remote and rugged. Alesund and Stavinger were bigger towns than I expected. All in all it was truly the trip of a lifetime for my husband and I. Our time on the ship was quite fantastic as well. Plenty to do and see while on Sea days. We saw most of the shows and they really were a professional, well done job, with talented performers. In past cruises, that was a little bit of a let down, but the Celebrity Eclipse shows were really quite nice. The ship was clean, and we found all employees to be very helpful and friendly. All in all, it was a great trip. Read Less

This is our fourth cruise on Celebrity. We wanted to see St Petersburg so had a three day tour with SPB which I would highly recommend. It our was so nice to be in a small group and the guide,Lena, was excellent. We did not eat in specialty restaurants because we found the meals excellent in the dining room and the choices in the buffet exceptional. I did not care for some of the jazz and the singer Lauren who sang in the main foyer. As the average age was probably 70, music should be geared to that age group. Two of the shows in the Theater were too loud and because the songs were not familiar, you could not understand the words. Maybe I should change to a Holland America! My main complaint with Celebrity is that they will not put Bridge games in the daily bulletin. They put it on the bulletin board by Guest Services - 10am - 2pm. In the card room. There is no sign up sheet, cards or score cards. No one wants to play for four hours and it is not drop in because you have to be there at 10 am if you want to get a partner. A lady whose husband had brought her in a wheelchair did not find a partner. Many handicapped people can not play the physical games which are organized by the staff. Cards are available at Guest Services. I have complained about this issue to Celebrity but they said that since it is not organized by the ship, it can not be put in the bulletin and yet other groups not organized by the ship are in the bulletin. There are Bridge Cruises but who wants to play Bridge all day? There were 350 children on board and because of the excellent kids programs, you hardly noticed them. All in all, a wonderful cruise with wonderful ports. The service and food were excellent. Read Less

first time with celebrity and with the exception of the entertainment it was a great experience. embarkation was very smooth straight on board and cabins were ready, the safety video was a bit odd but it did get the point across. food was very good in the main restaurant and the ocean view self service restaurant you would have to be very fussy not to find something you enjoy. the café al bacio was one of my favourite places to chill. , we used room service a couple of times and apart from hot breakfast food this was also very good The staff in all areas were very polite and attentive you were never left with an empty glass for very long. The dress code is very relaxed my husband loved it I was a bit disappointed as I enjoy a couple of nights getting dressed up and although some did the emphasis was definitely smart casual even on chic nights. It was a struggle on sea days particularly when the weather was not so good to find a seat to sit and read so we spent a lot of time in our cabin which had a balcony so was not too much of a hardship. we had cabin 6216 which was great not too far from the lifts and centrally located just a small amount of noise occasionally from the disco. the entertainment team is very small compared to other cruise lines and although what was delivered was good it was very sparse and brief eg line dancing consisted of three songs, the acts in the theatre had no supporting acts so only lasted about 45 minutes. the sail away parties were non existent really just a bit of music, even the 4th of July was a bit of anti climax a few red, white and blue ribbons and a lovely cake. the shore excursions although expensive were well organised and the tour guides were all very knowledgeable . I enjoyed every port and did an organised trip I all of them. I wouldn't do an organised tour in Bruges again from speaking to other passengers they saw a lot more by getting on the bus right in front of the ship. the day and night trip in st Petersburg are amazing I wasn't sure about the night one but it was really spectacular. we met some lovely people the cruise was very good value for money and I got to see places on my bucket list. we will go with celebrity again if the destination and price is right but would consider other lines first a we enjoy a bit more entertainment . Very unsure about ' cruising' but wanted to visit St Petersburg and as this Celebrity Eclipse cruise was there for 2 nights and 3 days it ticked the main box.As we parked our car at the port and the service started we knew it was going to good.It was better than that , it was outstanding. The ship was amazing, immaculately clean, it sparkled. The food was impressive, we ate in the MDR for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was varied, delicious and hot. We did meet up with friends once in theTuscan Grill, and it too was excellent but the MDR quality and service compared very favourably.Only had 1 buffet meal ( late up and the MDR had closed at 8.30am , because of early excursions) but I do like a cloth on our table and prefer waiter service when on holiday, I was also put off by the amount of food some people had piled on to their plates, one man walked past me with enough food on his plate to feed 4 people! I popped in once or twice during the day to get an iced tea and was stunned by the amount of food people were tucking in to.Our C1 cabin at the stern was excellent, and was kept clean and well serviced ( glad to have the long walk to it to help burn the calories) We enjoyed all the shows and got a great seat every night , no problem.Sue Denning works so hard to make sure everyone is informed with all the varied entertainment options that is available every day/night .We attended a few talks and presentations which we found interesting and entertaining. We loved the quiet corners with comfortable armchairs where we could sit and relax and ' people watch' , we would have liked to enjoy the Cafe Baico but getting a seat there proved nigh on impossible ( managed it once) We noticed a lot of people would sit there for hours on end reading their books or tapping on their laptops and not drinking tea or coffee, ( why didn't they just use in the library?) We made use of the Baico ' takeaway' counter and headed back to our cabin balcony. The ' star' of the ship is Captain Leo, the ' voice from above' ...he ended is daily briefing with .....life is beautiful! How right he is.We visited so many wonderful places, Bruges, Copenhagen, Stockholm , Tallinn, St Petersburg and Warnemunde( a lovely seaside town in Germany , never heard of it before but as our last 'Port of Call ' it was a perfect end to a wonderful cruise holiday. We were so impressed with Celebrity we have booked another cruise for next year, on the Constellation. We chose this cruise because it was an area we wanted to travel to, and also to experience a new cruise for us, as we had heard some good reports. As my wife is disabled and in a wheelchair, my comments are based on the suitability of the vessel for the two of us. First impression on arrival on board were quite good, although the crew member who showed us to our cabin did not know their way around. A lot of thought had gone into the design of the disabled cabin, and this was explained to us very well by the cabin steward. The ship then held its safety briefing for passengers. UNFORTUNATELY they did not check that all passengers could see the video being shown or that they could see the crew member putting on the lifevest Also there was nothing in the briefing to or about what disabled passengers should do in the event of an incident. This was reported to a crew member at the time, but no action taken. We later had a meeting with the safety manager who referred us to the safety video in the room, but there was nothing there either or on the back of the cabin door. He informed us that they had 2 regulations on board that covered our issue but either could not or would not tell what they were. He thanked us for our comments and said he would look into the issue and feedback to us. We had to ask on each of the last 3 days of the cruise before we had a response in writing, and this only said that management had discussed it and the issue has now gone to their head office, so far no further feedback We found that the corridoors between cabins were wide and the best we have experienced with a wheelchair, also the space between tables in the buffet and also between food counters in the buffet were excellent It was a shame that there were no labels for a wheelchair passenger to read so that they knew what hot food was on offer, and also no trays for use by wheelchair users or their carers. In the theatre there were ample allocated wheelchair spaces. The staff appeared exceptionally friendly, and we also received the impression that staff on the gangways had actually been trained on handling wheelchairs, which is very unusual. There did seem to be quite a few reminders of things happening on board, this for us was bordering on the holiday camp atmosphere. The standard of shows was average to good although some items were unique. And the organisation of shore trips was superb even for wheelchairs users. Overall this cruise for us was in many ways very enjoyable, but was spoilt by lack of communication of essential information like safety information and was the food choice. was. Read Less

We chose this cruise as we liked the destinations and the fact that it was a no-fly cruise. The pluses: With one exception (see below) the food was excellent. Staff were courteous and cheerful. Our cabin steward, Michael, was excellent. The Classic drinks package was well worth having. Generally, the ship was clean and bright. The minuses: I really do not think that Concierge Class was worth the extra money. They brought "canapés" to the cabin every afternoon until we asked them to stop. They were pathetic and an insult. What other advantages there were, were not obvious. When we boarded we paid $109 each for three visits to the excellent speciality restaurants . Each time we tried to book them the only times available were 17:45 or 21:30! It took a lot of persuasion to get more sensible times and we felt taken advantage of. Otherwise, there were some signs of rather petty cost savings. The quality of the loo paper was a source of amusement amongst the passengers! On days when the ship was in dock most of the bars were closed during the day Would we travel with Celebrity again? If price and destination were right then yes. Read Less

This was the first proper cruise I had taken. Went with sister to celebrate significant birthday. The attraction was the 3 day stay in St Petersburg and the reasonable price of the trip. Read a number of reviews beforehand as we didn't know what to expect. We took the classic drinks package - which was more than sufficient. Covers all drinks - soft and alcoholic up to $11. Some wine and cocktails and premium spirits came out more expensive and you just pay the extra. All prices are on the menu so you can see at a glance. There are speciality restaurants for which you pay a cover charge but we ate either in the ocean bar cafe or main restaurant and overall the food was superb. Plenty of choice . There were many deals eg. 50% discount on the speciality restaurants as they seemed to struggle to fill them. The feedback we got from fellow guests who did sample them was excellent. I had heard horror stories about embarkation/ disembarkation on celebrity but this has been staggered and I thought it was well run - regular cruisers may disagree. The ship was immaculate and the staff generally very helpful. For St Petersburg we opted for a 3 day local tour (only 16 people) with SPB tours - which was superb- talking to guests who took ships tours the feed back ranged from lukewarm to terrible. As we had an onboard spend we took celebrity tours in Brugge and Rostock. They were okay but bear in mind on a bus of 44 people the pace was slow. For Stockholm, Tallin and Copenhagen we did it ourselves either via the hop on hop off or shuttle buses both operate from the port side and are very easy to find - for the shuttle bus there is now a charge of approx $10 - apparently this used to be free. The other biggie to mention is onboard entertainment. A couple of the acts were fabulous a couple weaker and some down right awful. The ships troupe shows were very hit and miss , all had everybody really confused re any storyline and the last night show looked like something you might put on at high school. The exception was the aerial acrobatics which were superb every time. Overall we really enjoyed the activities on sea days and were never bored but many veteran cruisers we spoke to were unimpressed but both the volume, quality and range of activities. But speak as you find. The silent disco was fantastic and please try it if you never have before. They was a good age range on board and we met some truly wonderful people who we are going to stay in touch with. Everybody was so friendly. Despite the very minor negatives (I know it sounds as if we thought the cruise moderate but we really loved it and bear in mind some of this info is anecdotal but I thought it only fair to include it) this was a fantastic experience, good value for money and we will definitely be cruising again. Thank you to all those who made this trip so memorable. Read Less

Nice ship. The Ocean View deck 14 buffet restaurant is the best of my 6 cruise experience. The food quality, the organisation. It was so good in fact two nights we did not use the main dining room. Activities less well organised and of a lower quality than Royal Caribbean International. The lunch menu was not inspiring and we never did have a dining room lunch. We preferred a salad in Ocean View. The Park West Art Auctions I find very off putting. These auction or mock auction practises may not even be legal on land. The rules at sea are different I believe from reading up on the subject. Celebrity Eclipse or any other cruise line in my opinion should not want to be associated with these practices but maybe the pay-off is too good. It is not in the cruise customers best interest to buy art with dubious valuations placed upon it by Park West and the seemingly offered at bargain auction prices. It made me sick to watch the people that were taken in by the buying frenzy atmosphere that was generated by the charming polite Park West staff. The activities staff did a good job but popped up 5 minutes before the start of let’s say a quiz activity and disappeared 1 minute after completion. They was little chat to other interaction. The Peters Port, Guernsey tender boats setup was painful. The ship has 3,000 guests. Why only 4 tender boats ? It took 3 hours to get everyone ashore that wanted to go. Any we were all to be back on ship by 16:00 I think that day. I know some ports need Tender service but have the correct number of boats for the demand. We have been on a Royal Caribbean International where 8 / 10 were used in a French port. Read Less

Our cabin stewards had our room in top shape and saw him only when we needed him.  Again fabulous! Common rooms were very comfortable and the ship entertainment was better the the usual ship shows.  The featured singers were very talented. Read Less

We always wanted to go on a 2 week cruise, Celebrity Eclipse had just the cruise we were seeking. We have been a loyal Norwegian cruisers for many years, Not any more From the time we got on board to the time we departed, it was all very special. We have never experienced the personal attention given to us by all the crew. The cleanliness of the ship, our cabin attendant, the wait staff, the lounge staff, guest relations staff and of course the Officers, made our time on board feel like we were Royalty and that is not an exaggeration. I do recall many of the names of the crew, but I will not list them here, since there are so many. The entertainment was superb, the food was outstanding along with the servers. There are so many items to point out, that I would take up a lot of space, however I would be remiss if I did not mention the Adults only pool area.. To sum it up, Kudos, Kudos, Kudos to CELEBRITY CRUISE LINE!!! Thank you again for a wonderful cruise, Dave Scanlan Read Less

The Eclipse Captain Michael, her Cruise Director Eddy were great. The entertainment was ok but has improved ! We had select dining and the staff worked to accommodate 12 of us traveling together. Food was very good in dining room, buffet and Qsine! We had concierge stateroom on 10th deck. Our room attendant did everything he could to make us feel at home!! He seemed to always around!!! Embarkation and Disembarkation was very smooth ! Worse part was getting a large enough van for all our luggage but wait was not long!! Amazing part of an Outstanding cruise the IT Manager Richard and his assistant Rolondo. Richard gave classes on all types of subject such as Google Photos and Gmail! Room was absolutely packed when Richard gave a class! Read Less

This 14 night cruise of the Southern Caribbean is a Caribbean cruise like no other. It stands out among the many Caribbean cruises for many reasons, the length of the cruise, the ports visited, numerous sea days to enjoy the Caribbean sun and all while on a great ship the Celebrity Eclipse. Most Caribbean cruises that I am familiar with are a simple 7 days of the eastern Caribbean or the western Caribbean. This cruise not only differs from the same old ports but provides a very nice 14 days onboard. The ports of Bonaire, Curacao, Aruba, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and St. Maarten provide a nice alternative to San Juan, St. Thomas, Cozumel, Jamaica and the proverbial private port or island. The Islands visited provide diverseness in scenery, beaches, port towns, tours etc. On our cruise we experienced kayaking and snorkeling in the mangroves of Bonaire, the wilderness of Curacao on an ATV, sailing the blue waters of Aruba and Barbados, relaxing mud baths of St. Lucia as well as tours of all the islands visited. On most every island there is more you can do on a second or third trip to them. Celebrity provided us two amazing days in Aruba as we spent an overnight there. With 5 sea days there was plenty of time to enjoy the sun around the pool, partake of the many Celebrity Life activities, get in your exercise to burn off those extra calories from the fine cuisine or simply chill out on your own veranda. Trivia, lectures, glass shows, classes of various kinds and group activities all made these days simply fly by all too quickly. As always Celebrity provided fine entertainment each day and evening around the ship. The production shows were outstanding. The other nightly shows all proved entertaining, I did not miss one of them. Cruise Director Eddy Jenkins had a unique style that I particularly enjoyed, entertaining without going over the top. The various musical groups onboard were all outstanding with the exception in my opinion of a group called Sound Stars, while the musician were good the lead female singer was, how can I put this, hard on the ears. I simply could not stand listening to her but to be fair many enjoyed themselves dancing to the various numbers they attempted. The production show Euphoria is arguably one of the best production shows on the high seas, reason enough to sail on this grand ship. We bought a 5 night specialty dining package on tis cruise so I skipped my usual negotiation for a better price. We did two nights in Tuscan, two nights in Murano and one in Qsine. We dined in in Tuscan the first and last nights that provided a nice beginning and end of the cruise. Qsine was a group activity with a cruise critic roll call group which is always fun, we had 15 participating on this cruise. I cannot give enough accolades to the ships staff, from the captain on down all were outstanding. We had a normal veranda room and though a little tight is was well maintained and the bed very comfortable. Our room steward kept it spotless and took good care of us. Waiters in the specialty restaurants and main restaurant provided outstanding service throughout the cruise. The menu provided ample selections to choose from at every meal. The quality of my food was also simply outstanding. When we visited the buffet (which was not often as it was always difficult to find seating for four) the food selection was ample and good. I did partake of the pizza as it was freshly handmade and reasonably good. Eating venues around the ship were equally good. In short this ship well run and well maintained. The staff exceeded my expectations at every turn. The itinerary is a very good one for a Caribbean cruise and it is too bad it appears celebrity is not going to repeat it in the future. Would I cruise on the Celebrity Eclipse again, absolutely. Read Less

This was our last cruise as Select members of Captains Club...next cruise we're Elite. I'm really impressed with Celebrity. We have cruised on almost a dozen lines and both of us conclude that Celebrity offers the best value of any other. Some things have disappeared or been minimized...but when did that come as a surprised to any consumer? The Eclipse is a lovely ship well maintained by a crew that takes pride in their ship. It is obvious that the crew work as a team, which greatly benefits its' passengers. The ports were varied and provided enough variety. With 2 sea days at both the beginning and end of the cruise, passengers had an excellent chance to recharge drained batteries. We began each day with an energetic 2 mile walk on the track followed by breakfast selected in the buffet but eaten in the far rear of the buffet in a rather nice open air setting. Breakfast selection was excellent...anything you could reasonably think of. Fresh fruit was especially tasty. We often had lunch in the Aqua Spa café. Portion control was evident and food choices were all tasty. Custom made salads with lovely ingredients. They also make smoothies here. The setting for eating lunch here could have been improved. Kind of crowded with poor views. We had most dinners in the main dining room. This room is on 2 levels...the lower level for fixed dining and the upper level for guests who chose the "select" dining option...(us). So let me begin by saying that when you are on the upper level and look outward then downward to the floor below, you see probably 500-700 people all eating at the same time. That Celebrity can get hot meals delivered as ordered to that many guests, with the bonus of servers who are both efficient and friendly is a tribute to their Corporation. In terms of the main dining room, there are 2 areas that can use improvement. Firstly if you choose 7:15 as your preferred time, you are in a very popular time slot, and if you are in a party of 4 or more, you are liable to be in for a lengthy delay for your table. One night 6 of us waited almost an hour although mostly it was a 15 or 20 minute wait. Secondly, the nightly menus on the first 10 days or more were pedestrian rather than inspiring with choices that rarely got the glands salivating. I did notice some deterioration on this regard compared to previous Celebrity cruises. On the last 2 or 3 nights, the more sought after entries such as lamb chops, lobster tail, etc. all appeared on the same nights menu. It seems that Celebrity chose to have passengers leave the ship with pleasant recent memories of this dining room rather than spread those dishes out on the menus throughout the cruise. To be fair, menu choices, service, food quality and the decor of the dining room would probably see you receive a $200. plus bill plus gratuity in restaurants on land. We opted for the classic beverage package, so wine was included, and while not memorable, was generously poured. That $200. tab ashore would quickly escalate for thirsty folks. One last word on the menu...although I only had (room for) desert about half of the time, I really enjoyed the apple pie with frozen yogurt rather than ice cream. Delicious. Entertainment...In a few words...far above my expectations. Jane Curry was absolutely outstanding. Calculate what an evening by a performer of her caliber in New York together with dinner in a restaurant such as I have described above would cost there. I recently visited New York...it's a costly place. Comedians, and other entertainers were also very good...and if they didn't suit us...we just left. No harm, no foul. The musicians around the pool and in the ship's lounges was generally too loud and unentertaining. They did have one evening of ABBA mania in one of the upstairs bars which was very well attended and was met with energetic passengers. Where is ABBA now that we need them again? Ok so that covers most of the points I wanted to mention. A product well delivered by a company that clearly knows their business. Unfortunately, I have to leave the worst for last. Getting your luggage at the Port of Miami at the end of the cruise is a horror show. Plain and simple, if you can disembark as a walk off and take your luggage with you...do it. Hope you enjoy your cruise as much as we did. We may see you aboard next year at the same time...we booked it prior to leaving the ship. Read Less

Loved the ship & crew, itinerary, food; the entertainment was excellent. Captain Leo, Eddie the cruise director w/Baldo his associate - wonderful people! This is definitely a cruise for adults; there were hardly any children on board. There were many daily activities, expert talks, etc. My husband really enjoyed the Rich, the technology expert on board. We met him two years ago on the Equinox and learned so much. They also have a glass blowing exposition up on the top deck. They did several demonstrations, and held a charity auction at the end of the cruise. Different strokes for different folks, but we had no problem finding things that we enjoyed. Love the evening chic dress option. Ate entirely in the main dining room for dinner, and the buffet for breakfast and lunch. We were very pleased with the variety of food, and the premium beverage package worked great for us. We thought the entertainment on Celebrity was excellent. Lots of different options. We especially enjoyed the Beatles cover band, called "Hard Day's Night". In summary, we prefer to cruise with Celebrity and the Eclipse is a great ship. I can wholeheartedly recommend this ship and cruise line. Read Less

Just got off a two week cruise to the Caribbean on Celebrity Eclipse. We love Celebrity and have taken pver 30 criises. The ship was the best as far as personnel amd entertainment. Captain Leo was amazing - extremely personable, great sense of humor and extremely visible throughout the ship. He even played Liar's Club and was great. Eddy, the cruise director, was the best we have ever had. Great humor, very visible and was always talking with one of the guests. The entertainment was the best we have ever had!! The 3 production shows were incredible. The entertainers were excellent and we saw a wide range as f talent and venies. The band was terrific as were the musicians who played thruout the ship. The crew was extremely friendly and helpful. We have done this itinerary 5 times, so decided to book tours. We do them off the ship to have fewer people and save some money. The 2 tours that were the best were Harrison Caves in Barbados and Cosol tours in St Lucia which was fabulous. Next time, we will just wonder around town or go to a beach. The time went by so fast that we wished we had another 2 days at sea. Looking forward to our next vacation..... Read Less

We chose this cruise because Celebrity Cruises is our preferred cruise line. We have been on Eclipse and it's sister ships many, many times and absolutely love them.this time was no exception. We usually cruise the Caribbean in January and although we go for the weather and know most of the islands very well,it's life onboard that we really love. The food and the entertainment were very good, and as my husband and I love dancing that plays a big part of our enjoyment onboard.the music on this trip was exceptional and really made the trip even better. Our stateroom was as usual very good although we were lower than normal(deck 7) but that was no problem, and our stateroom attendant was very accommodating and brought whatever we wanted. We went to all three of the speciality restaurants and they we excellent, especially Quisine which was particularly good and very different. What I call the "deep Caribbean" is our favorite because you miss so many of the overcrowded islands. We tend to stay with the Eclipse because of the staff and cruise directors. In fact, we did the crossing in October, with our favorite cruise director, Sue Denning. We were delighted to find that one of our favorite "Beyond the Podium" speaker was also on not only the crossing but the January cruise. We do enjoy the entire series, with so many experts in their field. Gid Pool was on the crossing and again in January talking about comedy. He also did his comedy show both cruises which was hysterical! We had hoped he would have been at night in the main showroom but they put him in the middle of the afternoon, in Celebrity Central. If you are ever on one of his cruises, don't miss him. We enjoy the itinerary but next year we will pick one that overnights in Aruba and not Curacao. There wasn't much to do at night in the port. We hope that in Aruba we can hit the nightlife at the hotels. Barbados is a gem! We went to the fish fry place, via taxi. Total local and totally good. St. Lucia is getting better. There is a new bar by the pier and another that now has entertainment. We went downtown to a restaurant that was upstairs overlooking the water but left when we couldn't get waited on. Suggestion for that stop, stay close to the ship. St. Kitts is growing like crazy. A new food court is being build that we were told would feature local food. I hope it is ready for next year. We took the train excursion offered by the ship. It's a not to be missed trip. The scenery is overwhelming. St. Maarten is....well... St. Maarten. Too many ships, too any people. Can't wait until next year! Read Less

This was our first time sailing with Celebrity Cruises and overall, we had a very nice time. Dining: Since we were in Aqua Class, we dined at Blu for breakfast and dinner everyday. This was the best part of our trip! We were blown away by the service and the quality of food. Don't let their advertisement of "clean eating" give you the wrong impression. We were thrown off by this at first because we are on vacation, which means we want to splurge and not worry about healthy eating! Needless to say, we went home a few lbs heavier and we have no regrets! Although, I'm sure you can do it in a healthier way. The food was so delicious we just couldn't get enough of it. Filet mignon and lobster were two favorites! Balcony Stateroom: No complaints here! Plenty of storage space and our room attendant was excellent. The chairs on the balcony were very comfortable and supportive. Entertainment: Since I am comparing this experience to my last cruise on Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas, I was not as impressed with the shows and entertainment. The vocalists and acting were good, but they didn't have that "wow factor" like I hoped for. There were a few shows that I could've done without but I did enjoy the Acapella performance and Rock City. It left on our 53rd wedding anniversary. All holidays were taken care of including New Years. They had a wonderful Rabbi for Chanukah. Our room steward was the very best. The dining room staff was exceptional. The one big negative was the service in the buffet area. Drinks were hard to get unless you were buying alcohol. The stores are good quality with comparative pricing. Eclipse is a beautiful ship and was decorated beautifully for the holiday season. I find that the pictures taken on board have gone up in price considerably. Since everything is digital I think this is just taking advantage. I love the fact that there are no formal nights. It is much more relaxed. Also, having the anytime dining you do not feel rushed. Entertainment was OK. The best performances came from acts that were brought on the ship for a night. Another thing I did not like was overnighting at a port because the cruise line was sponsoring a concert, which was costly if you wanted to attend. Overall a good cruise. Read Less

Our kids were on this ship for a Christmas cruise in 2015. They enjoyed it so much that they decided to do it again for Christmas 2016 and encouraged us to go with them, which we did. Room steward, Silvestre, was outstanding. Cruise director Eddy was great. All the evening shows and entertainers were very good and enjoyable. The production shows and the Divas were fantastic. Captain Leo was visible everywhere on the ship and was accessible to passengers for chats and pictures. The dining room menu was pretty standard with nothing outstanding for our taste but the buffet served pretty much the same foods that were available in the dining room. That was not a problem for us because we are early diners, fans of the early shows, and we retire relatively early. Also, late dining does not work for us. All in all, everything went satisfactorily for us, so much so that we bookd the same cruise while onboard for Christmas 2017. Overall it was about a 4.5 rating out of 5 for us. Read Less

I love Celebrity and enjoy cruising for the holidays. Highlight of this cruise was in St Marteen when four Celebrshops sat proudly side by side for an overnight. Beautiful site. Even the crew enjoyed this event! My cabin was lively and Michael was excellent stateroom attendant. My afternoon appetizers arrived every afternoon on time and were quite good this cruise. Enjoyed Blu and the wonderful staff including Gamma our hostess. She was al says very accommodating to our needs. Of course loved Murano on. Christmas night & New Year's Eve was very festive. Loved my shore excursion on Antigua. Catamaran cruise with lobster lunch! Amazing! I'm planning next year's holiday cruise now! ❤❤ Spent lots of time reading in Cafe Bacio and enjoying lovely coffee Diablo's! The weather was perfect. Also net some fabulous new friends from England & New York. Enjoyed a fantastic dinner in Grand Case at Bistroit Carribe. Spiny Lobster Thermidor! Amazing! We have cruised a number of times and thought that we would have a break but heard the adverts for the Rock the Boat 60s music "festival". The bands including the Searchers were at the top of their game and the event was hosted by Tony Blackburn who was excellent value as always. The music gets a 5plus but overall a 4 because there were various niggles. Frayed towels in our suite were an early indication and the Luminae finishes breakfast at 9am which is too early when the clocks have gone forward as you leave UK and meet mainland Europe. Most of the staff were excellent - special mention for Michael's Club - but a few had missed the customer care training. Housekeeping and general maintenance particularly in public areas good - putting aside the frayed towels - generally very good. WiFi expensive. In my view. Overall the Celebrity Eclipse is to be recommended if you are ok with missing out on the tuxedo and gown evenings. Casual is fine although it was a shame that dressing down was taken to the limit by some guests. Clearly a replacement for Ocean Village - for those who don't do cruises Read Less

This was the Rock and Roll cruise charter sailing . It was also an opportunity to see Eclipse as much is said about the ship. Embarkation was perfect-no problem at all and parking really good. Cabins were available by 1.30 which we were very pleased with. It fulfilled our expectations, especially the Rock and Roll-but the organisation was not good. We danced and listened until the small hours and had a great time. Many unhappy groups queued at the organisers desk as they were not dining together-which meant they could not sit together in the theatre for the headliner bands-this included us. There was no my time dining-which we are used to. We were on a table for 10 and the Celebrity staff did add another chair to accommodate our friend. Mysteriously, only one other couple dined on that table for the two other meals-possibly using the buffet to match dining times with friends. All together, Eclipse is a great ship-but no more so than the Royal Caribbean ships we have been on previously. The food was fine, again no better than we have had on other ships. In short, we had a great time, but would be very wary of a charter organisation such as this, in the future. Eclipse is a lovely ship, but so are others we have cruised on. We would certainly go on the ship again, but not pay a premium Read Less

The reason I chose this cruise was partly because we are both first timers to cruising and the entertainment was our favourite bands and artistes from the 1960's. My mother is not a fan of the water and has only travelled on ferries and hovercrafts previously and sometimes the journeys have been very rough. On cruise ships of this size however you would not even know you were moving. Everything about the ship was luxurious and the customer service second to none. Food and drink was plentiful and we took advantage of the Spa by way of facials and manicures. Our deluxe ocean view state room with veranda was luxurious. Hygiene and security were top priorities and everyone was made to feel special regardless of the accommodation they occupied. This ship was first class all the way, with casinos, shops, bars, eating experiences to suit all tastes, entertainment and various shore excursions. There was something to do 24 hours a day if you wished or you could just sit back and relax. Staff were always on hand to assist and nothing was too much trouble. Real grass for boules or golf, 24 hour library and a Card/Games room. To anyone unsure about cruises do not hesitate book it now. Read Less

we chose this short cruise for the entertainment it being a 60s cruise which was excellent. afraid it stops there, the food in the buffet was very good but the seating arrangement was not good to say the least the tables were much too close together it resembled a school canteen. the evening food was over cooked and quite boring,we requested a table for 6 or 8 and got a table for 2 squashed between two tables of 4,it was so close the waiter had to lean over diners heads to serve .Our drinks took 40 minutes one night to arrive as there were not enough waiters. we usually cruise 2 to 3 times a year and this was our first and last Celebrity cruise. we should have taken more time to read the reviews before we booked still the groups were amazing. the sunset balcony room was ok. not a patch on P& O or Cunard.
