Chaos, Upgrade and a rip off!
"At one port (I think it was Dunedin but not 100% sure) Celebrity advertised in their daily newsletter that coaches were available to take you in to (and back) the City Centre. This was a HUGE rip off and we heard several of the people who had forked out $30 each say they were conned by Celebrity telling them that they had to book fast as the coaches were almost full...."Read More

Wonderful Journey around South America- Chile and Argentina

Review for a South America Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

We just returned from a wonderful cruise from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso, Chile for 12 days. The scenery is spectacular and the wildlife the same. We did one penguin tour in Puerto Madryn - Punta Tomba with Animal Travels that we booked thru Viator. We only used one excursion from Celebrity, but opted for smaller groups and much better prices. The scenery in Ushuaia is gorgeous, fresh fresh air. ...

Antarctica

Antarctica has been on my bucket list for some time and this cruise met or even surpassed my expectations. The staff were amazing especially our efficient and attentive cabin steward and our waiters in the dining room. The food was excellent for the most part but I was a little disappointed with the buffet which we only frequented occasionally. This was our fourth Celebrity cruise and we always ...

Wonderful service and staff

Great cruise. Bad side, the ship is in need of a complete renovation. Our Verandah stateroom had plastic curtains which had patches all over the backside to repair holes instead of replacing with new curtains. The fridge door would not stay closed completely so it never really kept anything cold. Bathrobes that are placed in the staterooms have seen their days, very cheap and flimsy. Beds ...

Better than good but not great!

Wanted to see Antarctica but no longer interested in getting out on the ice or paddling around in kayaks. Traveled with a group of four couples who had previously sailed on Celebrity Summit. This class of ships are nicely designed with larger showrooms to accommodate grand productions and very nice gyms. Of course, that means the dining venues are also huge and, when full, tend to be ...

Celebrity Cruises: Worst Vacation Experience ever

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

Celebrity Review Celebrity earned a D- for the travel, logistics, entertainment, and customer service performance for their Antartica cruise relative to other luxury vacation options. The onboarding and off boarding process were a free for all, with near zero support moving heavy luggage. Completely an Unacceptable disaster. The ship was old and needs to be modernized. To be completely ...

A Wonderful Crew, But More Than a Few Annoyances

We sailed on three back-to-back cruises aboard the Eclipse. We boarded in San Pedro, CA on December 7th, 2023 and disembarked in Buenos Aires on January 20th, 2024. Destination highlights included the Chilean Fiords, Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica, Cape Horn, Ecuador, Peru, and Mexico. Unfortunately, the Falklands Islands port call was scrubbed due to weather and safety concerns. The itinerary ...

Great Itinerary, BUT.....

First time sailing Celebrity. We wanted to go to Antartica (but not on an expedition ship). The itinerary was great! However, we missed the Falkland (Malvinas) Island stop due to it being a tendered stop and the weather was not great (or so they said). That created a little too many sea days all together. I'll try to sum up this review quickly: POSITIVES: Antartica/penguins/icebergs - ...

Great South American cruise

The ship was nice, but starting to show its age. Upholstery on the chairs in the dining rooms are starting to crack, the leather parts. The chairs in the Sonesta dining rooms, and many places elsewhere on the ship were so deep in the seat that they were not comfortable to sit on without asking for a pillow for support. Stateroom were nice and well appointed, but also starting to show wear. ...

Wanders promise not delivered

Supposedly a premium company, the ship is too old, the furnitures are damaged, rusty paints on canine’s balcony, average food, savings have been made everywhere and it transpires on the ship, on the equipments and on the service. For that particular cruise selling the magical Chilean Fjords and Cap Horn is just a lie. You go around the fjords by night and never see anything impressive just ...

Our 7 dec 2023-6 jan 2024 celebrity cruise had a great itinerary and wonderful staff but, was a disappointment on many levels, especially when celebrity air left us stranded. so, with almost 20 cruises under our belts, several of them celebrity, and many more in our future, we will never cruise celebrity again. Here are the details, starting with the positive: the 30 day south american ...
