First of all, we had a wonderful experience on the Celebrity Constellation when we sailed August 6, 2019 for a 9 night Greek Cruise, EXCEPT using Flights by Celebrity. I booked 2 Aqua Class rooms for friends and 1 Royal Suite for myself and my friend for a special 50th birthday celebration. We booked this in February 2019. I can not say enough about the Royal suite and our Butler, Ali. We had suite 6133 and he and the stateroom attendant are top notch!! Also a shout out to Joyce in the coffee bar/Michaels club. She’s an absolute delight. Now the issue...I booked this direct with Celebrity for the rooms and the airfare for the Royal Suite and 1 Aqua class room and paid in full in May, when full payment was due. I first found out several weeks before the trip my 1 hr 10 min layover in Chicago to Venice had been reduced to 35 min to change gates and get my luggage aboard. When I called Celebrity they informed me that the change to 35 minutes was an “acceptable” amount of time to find the connecting gate and have my luggage transferred. Since we were meeting friends in Venice for a day and half before the cruise, I was very concerned about the layover time. I called back again to Celebrity to be told I would have to pay Celebrity several hundred dollars to take a flight 2 hours earlier from Charlotte to Chicago through American Airlines. Frustrated, I called American Airlines directly and they changed my flight to the earlier flight with no issue and no charge. Then a couple weeks before leaving I realized Celebrity had me on the very last seat on the plane on one side window, and my friend on the very back of the plane on the opposite side of the plane window to Venice. I booked this in February...I finally called and paid American Airlines direct to change our seats to be together. Then came check in with American Airlines 24 hours in advance. I could only check into Chicago, but not all the way to Venice. We spent over an hour waiting in line at American Airlines ticket counter as we could not do curbside checkin all the way to Venice...The final straw was trying to check in back to Charlotte from Venice 24 hours before the flight. When I could not check in but my friend who did check in with no issue, since he booked his flight directly with American Airlines, he informed me they had 8 first class upgrades available for $500 each. I went to our private concierge agent in Michael’s lounge (since we had the Royal Suite) for assistance sInce I wanted the first class upgrade deal. I was worried by the time we went to check into the airport 3 hours before flight the upgrade offer would be sold out. (No surprise it was sold out). She did everything possible to check us in but could not check us OR previous clients using Flights by Celebrity in when check in was available August 14th. Let me say she went out of her way to help, but when she finally called Flights by Celebrity they told her I could upgrade to first class for over $4,000 one way. She was just as amazed as I was with the response from Flights by Celebrity and mentioned she would email corporate to inform them of the situation, even thought nothing could be done. I paid $1,800 to Celebrity for my round trip flight each person, which I am sure I could have done direct with American Airlines and never had these issues. I wasted 3 hours of our last cruise day dealing with this. We used the spa services, several specialty restaurants for all 7 of us, gambled every night but one, closing down the casino each night and tipping the staff very well during the cruise on top of the prepaid tip package. We also bought a great deal of high end wine as this was a once in a lifetime trip for a few of the 7 that traveled together. The service from Flights by Celebrity was a slap in the face considering the amount of money I spent on that trip for all of us. Oh, by the way, on our return flight from Philly to Charlotte Flights by Celebrity had us both on the last back seats on the plane, but at least this time we were side by side. Never again will I book my flights through this company. I will go directly to the airline for my flights to save all the wasted time, frustration and money. Read Less

The Celebrity Constellation delivered an excellent cruise experience in the honored tradition of ancient Greek voyages of exploration. This marvelous and memorable Greek Isles cruise featured some of the most fascinating and historical sites on the earth to visit--Athens with the stunning Acropolis, Rhodes with the solemn Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights, Santorini with rediscovered ancient Akritori (Atlantis?), Delos with the majestic Terrace of Lions, and Olympia with the remains of the massive temple of Zeus. And the cherry on the top was starting the cruise in romantic, serene, mesmerizing Venice! Yes, this cruise was selected mainly for this wonderful itinerary, but Celebrity cruise line always delivers with excellent service, comprehensive activities, and tasty meals. As we were on a shore excursion every day (and yes, I always book the cruise line excursions to be first off and to have guaranteed returns), we had an inside cabin which was very quiet and relaxing after long, busy tours. We also prefer traditional main room dining at a set time so we can have a regular dining time and engage more personally with our servers. Our room attendant and wait staff were very friendly and provided outstanding service. The main dining room food variety was very good and usually quite tasty. Lobster, baked Alaska, filet mignon and cherries jubilee were all on our menu. We also preferred going to the dining room on sea days for breakfast and lunch, or the relaxing and lovely spa. The Ocean View cafe was convenient and quick, but usually crowded and a bit hectic. We enjoyed dressing up for formal nights and taking photos, and made it to the fun Rock and Roll show, Broadway show and the Latino dance party. The two pools and the sun deck areas were always popular and very enjoyable. Shopping was plentiful but the added VAT tax made purchases more onerous. The library was a nice spot and the many children on the cruise seemed well taken care of and entertained in the children's clubs. Our cruise director was quite funny and great. The captain and officers were very courteous and visible throughout the voyage. The passengers were an international mix and many were seasoned travelers. This was a cruise of a lifetime and Celebrity made the experience a wonderful dream come true! Read Less

The Celebrity experience would be very hard to surpass in my opinion. From day 1 to disembarkation, every aspect of my cruise was excellent. We did the Adriatic & Italian itinerary which was amazing. The ship is very elegant, old Hollywood glamour I thought. We stayed in a balcony stateroom which I think is worth the extra money, returning to my room and being able go go out onto the balcony and see the sea and feel the breeze and listen to the sea was beautiful. The food is amazing, there is plenty of entertainment for all, staff were exceptional. Dining room staff were excellent, very intuitive without being intrusive. We met amazing people and had great conversations while dining and we were seated at tables for two, one can interact with others or otherwise depending on how comfortable you feel at that given time, the atmosphere was so lovely and we chatted to nearby diners. I was so impressed, I booked a cruise for next year while onboard. A thumbs up from me. I am probably spoiled now for future cruises. This was a 5 star experience for me. Read Less

We sailed as a family with two girls aged 12 and 14. Previously we have sailed with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Holland America and Princess. This was one of our top three cruises and the food and service in the main dining room was the best we have received on any cruise. The food was consistently very good every day except on the last day when the medium rare steak I requested was served well done. However, these things happen and the steak was immediately replaced by our excellent waiter Aryana - he went above and beyond to provide truly excellent service every day without fail. The ship and facilities were excellent and well kept despite the age of the vessel. I have sailed on much newer ships but there was enough to keep the whole family occupied. We enjoyed the evening shows, quizzes, dance lessons, pool facilities, etc. and the kids particularly liked the silent discos (very fun) and watching evening movies from the top deck on the big screen. The itinerary was very port intensive with only one sea day so unless you are looking for the ship to be a floating resort with climbing walls, water slides, multiple restaurants, etc., you should be able to find plenty to do. The ports of call were all very enjoyable - Rome, Sicily (Taormina), Malta (Valletta), Kefalonia, Dubrovnik, Slovenia (Koper) and Venice. In Koper, we took a local bus to Piran, which was lovely. I would highly recommend Celebrity Infinity and my family would happily sail on this ship again. Read Less

We choose this cruise because of the ports visited-Sicily, Malta, Argostoli,Greece, Dubrovnik, Croatia, Koper, Slovenia. The ship is older, but still lovely. We were in an Aqua class cabin at the rear of the ship and loved it. We enjoyed the Blu Dining Room where the food was excellent. We felt the staff was very accommodating throughout the ship. A lot of people on the forum complain the ship is “tired”, but we enjoyed its smaller size and next year it is due for an overhaul. If you are looking for a mega ship with all the new bells and whistles, this is not the ship. However, if you are concentrating on the ports of call and want a lovely means of transportation, this is a great ship and itinerary. We used the ships excursions exclusively and were happy with each and every excursion we attended. By watching the website for sales and using ship credit, the excursions were reasonable. We only had one sea day on this cruise, so we did not participate in many on board activities. However, I attended two dance classes and they were a blast. I also had a message at the Canyon Ranch Spa and it probably was the best message I’ve ever had. The ships entertainment was fine. We attended a couple of production shows and a comedian who was hilarious. All in all we had a fantastic cruise on the Infinity. Read Less

We chose this cruise as the dates fitted with our 30th wedding anniversary and also because of the destinations we hadn’t been to before except one. From the start on arrival to the airport , celebrity staff were very organised, not a long transfer to the ship around 30-40 mins, concierge check in was very quick, smooth all round, we were on the ship before we knew it, lovely drinks welcome on board, the ocean view cafe was open and we didn’t have to wait longer before the staterooms were ready, staterooms were comfortable enough and had toiletries in the bathroom, hairdryer and safe in the room, our stateroom attendant was very good. Our dining room experience was amazing, we had the most amazing friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for you and it’s the first cruise after doing 6 previous cruises that we saw and spoke to our head waiter all the time, just makes the difference, the food was of good quality, some days were excellent, the favourite was the tornado steak, the lamb and lobster night just fabulous. The Ocean View Cafe, was set out around both sides, sometimes you were searching at different ends for certaIn foods, but you got used to the set up, we never struggled to find a table as there is plenty of seating, the staff again are very friendly. The ship itself was lovely, I understand that people say it’s a little older fashioned but nothing at all that you need to worry about, we felt that all the areas, Cafe al Bacio, martini bar, cellars masters bar, were of a good standard, there is fabulous outside film area all with comfy seating showing movies everyday, the toilet areas are very clean and well stocked and the staff again are very friendly. We loved every destination that we went to, Venice was gorgeous, gondola ride is €80 but this can take up to 6 people, so you can share the cost, what a beautiful place. Croatia was gorgeous, we just took the hop on hop off bus for a bus tour and walking tour this was €20 pp, really good way to look around. Kotor was just stunning, you take a tender from the ship and we just had a look around ourselves, for a few hours, wow the sail away was stunning to see. Corfu we wanted a beach day, we missed out on the celebrity beach trip, this sells very quickly we tried to book as soon as we got on board but it was already full, the ship cost for this trip is around $40-$45 pp, so we just got off and looked for own transport, be careful as the taxi trips at the port are charging €110 for 2 which is just a rip off, here we ended up on the red tour bus at €19 pp, we stopped off at the first beach on the tour had 4 hours and then got the bus back and saw the rest of the tour which was great, beach beds to hire, reasonable cost, with bar selling drinks and food at good prices, there are also toilets at this beach, the staff were very friendly and are up and down the beach serving. Naples we did a ship trip here, at $99pp to Pompeii we did the 1.30pm 4 hrs trip as the am one was sold out but this was perfect we had the best guide called Jose, he was very knowledgable and was passionate , he was quite funny also which made the trip brilliant, apparently we totally made the right decision to go in the afternoon as the morning one was so rammed with people it was hard to get around.. Wow this cruise was amazing we loved every minute, we will definitely be cruising with Celebrity again.. Read Less

We chose this ship for its itinerary and the timing of departure. We are experienced cruisers (10+ cruises) and this was our second on Celebrity. We booked a SkySuite (8127 accessible). After reading multiple reviews on this ship I will admit I was concerned. I thought the ship would feel old and tired, I thought the staff would be lukewarm and the food mediocre. Now I am just wondering what ship the rest of the reviewers were on, because it certainly was not the Infinity that we experienced. We thought the ship was in great shape (yes if you look closely you could see some wear in tear, but whoever is looking that closely better not come to my house because we've lived in it for 16+ years and it also shows some signs of its age). The staff was delightful -- lots of fun and great entertainment. The ship is big enough to have the resources/activities of a large ship, but not so big to feel overwhelming. If you wanted to, you could avoid the crowds (even on sea days). We loved our Suite Class perks! Food in Luminae was among the best we have had on any ship including some luxury lines that are all about the food. And being in a dining room that seats a maximum of 50 at a time meant that we never felt rushed, never had crying babies, etc. to interrupt our dining experience (and we really dined!). Thought the itinerary was strong, although was a bit disappointed in Split, would have preferred Dubrovnik. Shore excursions were fine but not extraordinary - our best excursion we booked privately in Corfu. The only real complaint was the Wifi was spotty. and getting to and from the port in Venice is a pain -- Celebrity should have provided free shuttles - not charged for it. Read Less

Having met two couples in June 2018 on the Baltic cruise on the Eclipse we decided to cruise again this year on Constellation for the Dalmatian coast cruise. Having read numerous reviews my expectation was of an older ship and I did not expect to experience the excellence of our previous cruise. We booked early and chose Aqua class and had rooms on deck 9 I had heard poor reviews as pool deck was above us but can honestly say that other than sun beds being stored in the evening did not notice anything else. The room was spacious well designed and although old was very comfortable and our cabin attendant was superb. The Blu restaurant staff from front of house to the waiters were excellent, the sommelier terrific and the choice of wines could not be faulted and it’s a long time since I had enjoyed Port after dinner. The Spa was good and the gym always had available equipment. We went to a couple of shows and enjoyed the Cabaret night especially the Les Miserables compilation. The Frankie Valli tribute act again were very good. All in all a very good cruise and an enjoyable holiday. Highs and lows below Highs All transfers early and very good vehicles for 6 people Restaurant/ bar and cabin staff could not be faulted The ship exceeded expectation Quality of food was exceptional although restrictive for one vegetarian member. Lows Pre booking seating for flights complicated and given wrong info Check in at Venice why put trainee staff on Aqua class ? Delayed by 10 minutes on priority boarding Hard sell of packages days 1-3 it was endless Drinks packages not added to room card refer to check in Bad experience at Bocia coffee lounge where staff chose to ignore us at the front of the queue and served others resulting in leaving without a drink. We did not do any excursions with Celebrity. Re the ports of call Rijeka and Sicily did not match the rest of the locations. Read Less

My husband and I went on this cruise to celebrate our 25th anniversary and we brought our kids ages 23,21,and 15. We have been on a Carnival Cruise and one other Celebrity Cruise and we knew we loved Celebrity - it did not disappoint! Embarkation was so very easy with no long lines and a lovely glass of champagne upon entering the ship. We loved our cabins and our statesman Jeremiah was wonderful! Food was wonderful in both the buffet and the main restaurant. We tried the Sushi restaurant too and it was very good. Did the Select Dining and made the reservations a couple weeks in advance based on what we were doing that day in the port. (Did canoe trip, knew we needed a nap, dined later that night) I would strongly suggest doing this so you get a table. We were actually able to sit in the same spot with the same fabulous waiters (Frances and Paola) every night! We upgraded to premium drink packages and were never disappointed with drinks. Service at every bar - also excellent! Shows, bands, all entertainment, dancing, trivia - all fun and never overcrowded. I do not know how they do it but the ship NEVER feels crowded! The pools even do not get super crowded. But 2 times we did have to circle around a bit to find lounge chairs - no big deal to us. The gym was fantastic with lots of machines and ellipticals and freeweights and a yoga/stretching area. Again, never felt crowded. Did not use spa because we felt it was pretty expensive. Shops onboard were great and I got great service and no pressure when I shopped. Ports were wonderful and we did 3 excursions at 3 ports and all of them were very good and very organized. Again, Celebrity just does this RIGHT! And coming back to the ship and getting a cold drink and cold towel after a hot day feels heavenly! Disembarkation was easy and organized. We took a bus (arranged by Celebrity) to airport and, although we had to wait a few minutes and there seemed to be a little confusion about which line we should be in, we got on and got to the airport in time. Overall, I would recommend Celebrity Infinity to anyone who is not expecting slides and waterplay for kids, skydiving areas or ziplines...all those extra things that some cruiselines are adding that we have no interest in at all. Infinity itself is due for a refurbishment and, while it was clean, there are some areas like cushions and carpet which could use an update. Read Less

Just returned from a first cruise on Constellation . Was a bit worried as some of the reviews mentioned wear and tear and dated ship. Worry not! The ship looks great, immaculately clean, a lovely stateroom, (maybe not the most modern of colours) and beautiful communal areas. But what made this trip so good were the staff, right through from the stateroom attendant to the restaurant and the entertainment team, everyone was welcoming and attentive. Somehow they managed to combine friendliness, fun and fantastic service. Food was excellent wherever we ate, entertainment was varied and fun. Live music in bars was relaxing and not too loud. We had Free Dining and were prepared to share a table. As such, whatever time we arrived for our evening meal, we were seated immefiately. We did afternoon quizzes, fun but testing, watched football on the top deck big screen, went to the theatre each evening. The Cruise Director is a sheer delight and his sense of fun is infectious. We travelled around the Adriatic from Venice to Rome and the ports varied from the beautiful Dubrovnik to the vibrant Naples, quaint Kotor, stunning Valetta and chaotic Catania. For us the variation added interest and charm. The only thing I would pull Celebrity up on was embarkation, which was somewhat chaotic, although, that could have been due to Venice port authorities. Disembarkation was excellent. Read Less

Our cruise aboard Celebrity Infinity was fabulous. We began with a stay at the Hilton Diagonal Mar in Barcelona. The hotel was flawless and has an incredible pool/beach club and the view from our room was breathtaking. Barcelona is such a nice city to walk. The embarkation process was easy and uncrowded. We boarded around noon and our stateroom was available around 1:00. Enough time to wander the ship a little bit.... I was a little apprehensive of what the ship's condition would be based on reading some reviews on this site prior to leaving on our trip. There were a number of reviews that described the ship as tired. We found the ship to be very clean in all areas. It is scheduled for dry dock and a major renovation in November 2020. The stateroom was in good condition. All of the furniture and fixtures were clean and in good repair. The public areas appear to have been renovated in recent years and the public area furnishings and décor was up to date and in great condition. The stateroom did lack some things that I assume will be addressed in the November 2020 renovation. in this day and age where everyone travels with a phone and iPad (or laptop) there were not enough power outlets available. We brought a 10 unit charger station and were able to overcome this challenge. There also was NO power outlet in the bathroom. There were three of us in the cabin including our 11-year old son. We were in an Oceanview cabin with a pull out sofa bed for our son. I would not recommend this configuration as it minimized the space when the bed was pilled out. An overhead berth would have been more accommodating. I was pleasantly surprised that every single crew member was friendly and demonstrated excellent hospitality. Without exception! There were plenty of activities to participate in and entertainment to enjoy. The "Fun Factory" for our son was well run and had everything to occupy and entertain an 11-year old. The ports on our itinerary were nice and varied with an emphasis on Greece. Read Less

This ship is incredible. The best cruise we ever had. The sunset veranda rooms are definitely the best, short of an Aquaclass or suite. It is larger and a has a huge balcony...and it's quiet. We were on deck 11. Our cabin steward (Wyan) was so attentive we never wanted for anything. Room service is prompt and friendly. The shows are fresh and interesting and the performers can be found all over the ship doing exciting things. Eden is exquisite and the performances are really different (in a good way). The staff could not have been nicer. I've never been on a cruise where the senior staff were along the way to greet you and wish you a great day on the way off the ship in each port, and on the dock to greet you when you returned from your excursions. The waitstaff were friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to accommodate. We used all four of the main dining room and ate at the Steakhouse, Eden, and Le Petite Chef. The latter was the most fun evening ever. The food was always well prepared and delicious. If I had one complaint it was that you could not make a reservation in the main dining rooms on the app. The 7000 number almost always had a recording saying to go to the restaurant to make a reservation, and often there was no one at the restaurant prepared to do that. We managed to work around that and they always willingly accommodated us without a reservation, but since so much is doable on the app, that would be a nice addition. I will definitely cruise this ship again. Read Less

Celebrity Edge is a great ship and it put our faith back into cruising after a disastrous cruise on Cunard's QM2 last year which was so old fashioned, dirty and the food disgusting that we pledged never to go on a cruise again, however, we saw The Edge and decided to give it a go and it was one of the best decisions we made. It has everything you want on a cruise: fabulous food; friendly and excellent service; sparklingly clean and hygienic; impressive and packed itinerary. If you're a first time cruiser you'll love it but probably be disappointed in other ships afterwards! Things to think about: we considered upgrading to concierge class but that would have doubled the gratuities. Why go on a huge ship and pay extra to keep separated in a small exclusive area at the front, if you don't like the 'Hoi Polloi' go on a smaller more exclusive ship. Forget the organised shore excursion , you could have got off the ship in at least 6 of the ports we stopped at and easily explored on your own. Get a Premium drinks package for a hassle free cruise experience, who wants to spend the cruise adding up the cost of drinks - prices are high AND theres always the 18% or 20% service charge Reduce the packing, you really DO NOT need those evening dresses and suits, the Edge has Evening Chic i.e. cocktail party attire , men take a smart linen suit or similar and women a cocktail dress or equivalent if you want to dress up. If you have restricted mobility remember that this is a massive ship and you can do a lot of walking to and from decks plus the ports we visited were not at all easy for wheelchair access. Pre-cruise we chose Select Dining as there were only 2 of you and it really worked for us. No fixed time or table, you choose when and where to eat in the 4 'free' restaurants between 5.30pm-9.30pm, simply ask the Maitre D' for a table ( you can reserve one but we just went were we fancied that night), you may have to wait for a table for 2 but if it's too busy then just go to another restaurant. We also ate in the Oceanview cafe 2 nights and wish we eaten there more often as it was superb. WHAT REALLY IMPRESSED US. The Silent Disco was THE best thing we've ever done on a cruise- just do it, it's a disco but not as you know it!!! Embarkation and disembarkation was top notch, easy and very speedy. Embrace the digital world (even we managed out at 59 yrs) get the App on your phone, check in online, sort out your sea pass photo, etc all before you leave home. Food was superb in all areas and we loved 4 main dining rooms but missed building up a rapport with staff. Don't waste your money eating in specialty restaurants (unless you're wanting to boast about it to others or are bored quickly and need the amusement ) the service and food in the 'free' restaurants are fantastic. Service was excellent throughout the ship and good to see officers mingling with passengers and eating in the restaurants. Infinite balcony stateroom was fabulous and the bathroom the best ever, so well designed and spacious. Plenty of cupboard and storage space (check the walls carefully, we didn't realise there was storage behind the curved bit until day 9!) but doors were difficult to open so proper handles would help to open them more easily. Cleanliness, as always Celebrity keep everything clean and well maintained. Plenty of people cleaning up constantly and enforcing hand hygiene at restaurants. NOT SO IMPRESSED BY. The daily programme was changed (printed and digital) without us knowing and we missed things because they were rescheduled without notification. Dress code wasn’t specified anywhere so was a mystery to us and we never realised it was evening chic ( plus no one dressed up) till after the evening! Eden was lovely area but wasted and underused, we were very disappointed in the bar , there was no drinks list and we were told beers were same as every else but we didn’t know what those were having just arrived. Cocktails were awful and hugely over priced. Make it into a proper mixology bar ( like on the Eclipse - 2013) with quality cocktails and get rid of the new age acrobats. Sad that non suite guests are barred from front of ship. We would have liked a smaller, intimate and quieter bar (with jazz, solo musicians, etc) to sit and relax in in after dinner. The Spa - as usual laughably expensive. Read Less

Booked this cruse almost a year in advance ( great itinerary that caught our attention) and were shocked when a few months later prices went up 50%!!! It was our 18th cruise and I've never seen anything like that before.. But I am sure that those who paid pretty big bucks, were not disappointed.. The ship is not small but very easy to navigate. wherever we went, we'd find something new we've never seen before. I am talking about ship's decor, theater reinvented, Eden, Magic Carpet .. and more.. Dining - for the 1st time we did not book any specialty restaurants. Edge has 4 dining rooms and each of them has their own mini menu beside the common for all 4. So we had tried 3 of them and food was great!!! Buffet - no complaints .. aft tea with scones and clotted cream ( and we are not British, but LOVED it). We decided to change our dinner time and didn't even had to tell anyone. All our walk ins were successful, we were accommodated right away. Took couple of excursions - no issues there. Tenders were so modern.. again it was the 1st time when we saw something like that. Entertainment - from singers to theater shows - we enjoyed it so much. This ship actually one of not many where you are getting entertained pretty late. usually after the late show ships are "dead" , this one was booming.. loved silent karaoke. Honestly, I teared up a little leaving the ship.. Highly recommend it to 1st time or experienced cruisers. Read Less

It was our third cruise on X and 7th cruise overall. My wife and I in our mid 50s, loved our experience on Constellation. We had no issues with the embarkation and debarkation processes. Loved our stateroom, its location and perks associated with Concierge Class! Excellent and dedicated staff, have provided us with an outstanding service quality! We loved the food in the San Marco Dining Room and Oceanview Cafe. The Cruise Director and his staff welcomed us to participate in activities such as safe archery, bean toss, trivia games, bingo, Minute to win it, Deal or no Deal, Silent Disco, Karaoke/Bandeoke in addition to the traditional evening shows. We really had a good time! We used Celebrity Excursions in Dubrovnik, Chania (Souda) Crete, Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes and Katakolon. All offered comfortable buses, very qualified guides able to explain the history behind the vestiges and for the most part, were very well organized! Santorini with 4 cruise ships in port, was a bit of a let down for us and most of the cruisers we met on our ship: The main reason is the bottle neck created in Fira, requiring all passengers to return to their ship via this single exit « door ». Passengers had to use one of the following 3 options: Cable car ( 30-45 minute chaotic line up,) Descend the 600 steps on the back of a donkey or on foot, on the path used by the donkeys, which was slippery, smelly and involved having to pass directly and unsafely close behind « parked » donkeys. This said, Santorini is and remains a very beautiful island, In short, we enjoyed a beautiful experience and this trip will remain part of our lifetime memories. Read Less

Wonderful cruise with a great itinerary.. The service was incredible and the food was great. Traveled with a group of 14 people. No complaints from anyone. None of us had a bad meal on the cruise. Every crew member that we encountered bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. Loved the ports we visited. Drubrovnik and Santorini were our favorite stops. We used ship excursions in Athens and Santorini. Both excursions were as advertised. On both excursions the guide was very informative and helpful. In Santorini, the only issue was the long line to use the cable car to get back down to the ship. Very crowded due to 4 cruise ships in port. I wish the coach could have taken us back to the port where they picked us up as an option other than the cable car or walking down over 500 steps. Other excursions apparently did that. Our cabin was very clean and the attendant was responsive when we needed him but left us alone when we didn’t. Overall the ship was very clean and comfortable. We went to the outdoor terrace several times and used a free cabana to watch movies. Movies show multiple times per day. Our group dined in the Tuscan grill one night. The food and service was truly fantastic. For a $45 additional charge per person we thought it was a great deal. I didn’t use the fitness facility but the activities on the ship were plentiful and the few that we went to were fun. The “silent disco” was a blast. We also watched a couple of game show like entertainment activities and they were fun. The shows were very good but not all great as compared to other cruises. Live music around the ship was very good. Each day there were musicians and singers performing in various areas. I really enjoyed them. Reading some of the criticism here on the website made me wonder if we were doing the right thing by taking this cruise. I found everything to be great. Sure, if you look hard enough, you can find a rust spot. I think the ship is in great shape. We really like this size of ship and the reviews that I had read criticizing the ship are too harsh. Nothing wrong at all with this ship in my opinion. In our view when the ships get so big and carry 4-5 thousand passengers, the amenities get harder to access. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and the fact that because the Constellation is a smaller ship we could begin our cruise from Venice. Boarding was easy and within 30 minutes of arriving at the terminal we were on board. Throughout the cruise we found the staff to be among the most service oriented and friendliest of any of our 34 cruises. The main dining room food was excellent, although it’s obvious they have pared down the menu choices somewhat. We also ate in Sushi on 5 and Qsine and found the food and service in both to be outstanding. We took 2 ship excursions and they were excellent - one in Rhodes and one in Olympia. Tendering was handled very efficiently in Santorini - but the situation with the long wait for the on-shore gondola is ridiculous - not Celebrity’s fault though. At the rest of the ports we took private shore excursions. Entertainment on board was excellent. We enjoyed each of the production shows and the 2 guest musicians; the magician was so-so. We especially enjoyed the “extra” show of Broadway show tunes that the production cast put on on our last sea day. We always found a place to sit and relax. The trivia sessions were pure fun - no fierce competition - just a good time. Bar service was prompt and the drinks were well prepared. Our ocean view stateroom on Deck 2 was room, and our cabin attendant kept it in spotless condition. If there is one thing we would want to change it would be to add another sea day in the middle of the cruise - the pace was pretty grueling if you took advantage of truly seeing each of the ports - and we did. The ship is a little worn, but the crew works hard to keep everything running well. We like the size and layout of the ship - we never felt crowded and getting around was very easy. Read Less

The itinerary was the reason for choosing this cruise. Having sailed on 3 other Solstice class ships, we wanted to sail on Eclipse and were not disappointed! Celebrity has come through again with stupendous service from check-in through disembarkation. This ship was refurbished and it shines. Cleanliness and service is a hallmark. Our cabin was great with an attentive stateroom attendant and our dining experience each night was met with a smiling waiter, assistant waiter and sommelier. We only scheduled one shore excursion with the cruise line due to no other alternative in Zadar, Croatia. All other ports, we scheduled tours through Viator, ItalyTours.EU and Costco. These tours provided a better alternative due to timing, cost, and significantly fewer passengers. Most tours were 8-16 people, much better with logistics. There was never a worry in returning to the port on time. The entertainment seems to improve with each trip. The guest speakers were interesting and provided a good diversion during sea days. The Eclipse orchestra along with the Celebrity singers, dancers, and acrobats were outstanding. Other smaller venues were good as well. The only disappointing venue was the Hollywood Glass Show. Previously under the auspices of Corning, these shows were continual demonstrations of glass creations and ultimately sold for charity. The current show is obviously for revenue. Suggestion: do your homework for shore excursions and book a cruise while onboard, it provides flexibility for future travel and all questions can be answered face to face. Read Less

We chose this cruise due to the ports (Rome, Crete, 3 days Israel, Mykonos, Athens , Naples) and because we liked our cruise on the Celebrity Silhouette in January. This was my 15 cruise (Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Carnival, Holland America)and I believe the Constellation is my favorite ship so far. I enjoyed the easy layout and the general ambiance. It is not a party ship and in general I would say that the average age is 50+ and mostly well traveled cruisers but I'm looking to relax on a cruise. My favoite things about this ship: 1) The 3 story bow shaped window at the back of the Marco Polo dining room (fabulous views as we departed the ports) 2) The outside movie theatre. At the back of the ship deck 12 (go to 11th floor then walk upstairs) instead of being at the pool deck. Very nice comfortable lounge furniture. I was surprised with the sun out how well the movie still showed on the screen. 3) Theatre. Very nice size for this size ship, never had a problem finding a seat at either time frame. Nice mixture of entertainment. 4) The table/bar area at the back of the ship just beyond the buffet. Very seldom crowded, quiet place to eat and enjoy a mixture of covered and uncovered seating. 5) Very good ship's excursions and I'm not a great lover of ship's excursions in general but these were exceptional. 6) Many nice quiet nooks inside to sit and read or just converse with friends. We were on the Celebrity Reflection 10 day Italy & Greece Tour.We had a Stateroom with Balcony on the 9th Deck. We found nearly everything about the cruise to be really good. The service, from ALL staff was friendly and courteous. They all give you the impression they ENJOY doing their job. The standard of food & service in the Opus Restaurant was superb. We did not bother eating in any of the Speciality Restaurants (despite the strong sales pressures) The choice and standard of food in the Oceanview Restaurant was brilliant. We ate there everyday (apart from 1) for breakfast & lunch. Bewildering choice of eggs etc. Beware attempting just to have a salad for lunch - you are tempted with Indian, Chinese, English,American,Pizzas etc. All of good quality. Our room was spacious, clean & tidy. We had breakfast served in the room 1 day. Lovely to sit on the balcony eating scrambled eggs.... Shame about the tea being cold. We tried room service for morning tea but the water was always luke warm. Good shows, good variety of artists. Embarkation and disembarkation - well organised. Did not use Celebrity Excursions - preferred to make our own arrangements. Only 1 gripe - we loved sitting on deck watching the ship sail in/out port. Spoilt by the large number of people smoking. Would I use Celebrity again? - definitely! Read Less

We are a Canadian couple in our early 50's have done both cruising and all inclusive packages. This was our 20th cruise and 2nd with Celebrity. ( some back ground details so you understand this was not our first experience at travel.) We had chosen Celebrity as this was our second European journey with Celebrity. Love the size of the ships and the itineraries. We also landed a few perks that were nice incentives as well. Embarkation was smooth and quick in Venice. We did stay at an Airbnb for 3 days prior to tour around. Water taxis are easy to negotiate in Venice. Purchase a multi day pass and explore on and off. We water taxied from the airport to our Airbnb. Easy peasy. Just research in advance. We were on the ship in 20 mins of arrival at the port. Smooth, checked in and eating our lunch on board at 12:30 cabins were ready at 1:30 luggage at room by 2:30pm Muster drill at 3:45ish then off to the races for 10 amazing days. The ship is wonderful. My only complaint. Not even a complaint more of an observation was the main piazza. It really did not exist like in most ships there is a vast opening from the 3rd floor all the way up to the 7th. Seats all around so you can ppl watch and listen to entertainment. As this is an older ship the design, it is quint and areas are choppy. Like I said an observation and unique. Not a disappointment. The staff were friendly and polite at all times. They are hard working people miles away from their families for months on end to ensure that we as passengers have a pleasurable experience. I often get to know our waiters, they have wonderful stories. Food was excellent. Bar service never an issue. The Classic booze package was just perfect. House wines wonderful, from Tuscany, Chili, South Africa to name a few. Did not feel the pressure to upsell at all. Spirits were plentiful and mid range. Really unless you are a alcohol expert Classic is perfect. Cabin was well appointed. Balcony was perfect size, room steward was tentative. Our ports. 1. Koper Slovenia: itself is very small, so an hour or so is likely to be enough time to stroll then head out and explore. Ships dock opposite a lift which takes you up to town level. You can also walk its about 6mins. We took the public from Koper to Piran which is a really pretty town a little along the coast and the drive there and back has some scenery too. Regular city buses and inexpensive. Travel every 30 mins to and from Piran is a must. Go to the info centre and we booked a 7 Euro per person walking tour for 90 mins. It was excellent. Such a beautiful spot and have the narrative along the way was exceptional. Eat at a seaside restaurant. Excellent seafood. 2. Zadar Croatia: Free shuttle from the ship to town. Bus lets you off at the boardwalk first hit the The Sea Organs (http://vinovo.magnify.net/video/ZADAR-Morske-orgulje-Sea-Orga) Then continue on the board walk into old town. Explore I suggest you stay in the old part of the town, sit in a caffees, do some people watching, than change a spot and do the same. The church St. Donat and the treasury chamber are worth the visit inside, other than that Zadar is more an experience of strolling through the streets (like ST. Paul de Vence near Nice or Aix a Provance near Marsellies if you are familiar). 3. Dubrovnik Croatia. Having stayed there 6 yrs ago did not want to visit old town. That is amazing and walk to the bus terminal which is adjacent to the cruise terminal and busses travel to and from old town for cheap. .The ship charges 5 xs the cost for the same thing. We opted to visit sea-side town of Cavtat. Not a long bus ride but what a beautiful town. We just strolled along the waterside that borders the town. Swam in the Adriatic. 5 areas to sun yourself on a pier. rent chairs and relax for a couple of hours. A lot of nice café’s and places to sit as you walk. Hiking / walking paths easily marked worth strolling. What a great day and a must see this town. A ferry ride back to Dubrovnik or the bus. we opted for the bus as it brought us back to the terminal next to the ship. You can take Libertas #10 from the Gruz Harbor directly to Cavtat. Bus cost is 25 Kuna per person, no foreign currency. Take the small boat back to the old town, 4.Kotor Montenegro. Wake up early and watch the sights pulling into the harbor.Bay of Kotor surrounded by steep, mountains lined with historic buildings, churches, towers, docks, and marinas along the shore. It’s onthe list of the 25 most beautiful bays in the world. We tendered and walked the stairs 430 up the side of the mountain. The views amazing. Arrive early and do this. the hike up is aprox 50 mins. Not for the faint of heart. Bring water. The walk down was good but started to get crowed by fellow tourists. Spend the rest of the day in Old town getting lost in the streets and enjoy an Aperol Sprits and seafood. 5. Sea day..need I say more. Sleep in and enjoy the amenities of the ship. Message special at the spa for this day. FYI. Book it the evening before they promo that on the ship. 6 & 7. Malta Valetta. 2 days. purchase the hop on hop off pass for 2 days. 32.00 usa and it is charged to your room by the ship. Excellent cheap way to see the Island. We did the red line one day and the blue line the next. Spent time in the old town. they have 2 for 1 dinks on the main street. 2 aperol spritz for the price of one. Good way to finish an afternoon. We swam in the Mediterranean at the Grotto. 8. Sicily - Sircusa ( did not stop in Catania Italy due to berth availability.) Sircusa was an amazing surprise. Tender to the Island. Walk to the right. find the market what a great experience. The market with the local produce, spices, cheeses and the vibe of the shop keepers. Stoll old town and have a lunch. Walk the marina. Impressive yachts. 9. Naples. Having been before we opted for the Fast ferry to Capri. Beautiful, stunning and totally worth the 40min Ferry ride. Ferry from Naples to Capri departs at 8:35 / 9:10 Purchase at the ferry. Once on Capri immediately purchase ticket for Naples ( fills up fast) Capri harbour a taxi or trolly up to the town for glorious views - especially dizzying vertical views waaaaay down to sea- level from viewpoints on the edge of town. Capri there are a number of little restaurants and shops right by the docks Don't buy the ticket online ahead of time. When you get off the ship just go to the left and you can buy your ticket. Check the schedules though as you may not want a round trip with the ferry company. Some are faster then others. If you aren't going round trip with the same company just buy your ticket in Capri right there when you get there and you are set for your return. Be sure to do the chair lift, the views are amazing!!!!!!. We hiked the Arco Nature walk. totally worth the view. took us 25 mins of meandering through small walk ways with surprising views around each corner. Away from the crowds. It was fabulous. We had a great sea view lunch then back to the ship on the 2:50 Ferry gave us time to relax on the ship. 10. Rome. Having been before. Unfortunately high tailed it to the airport. aprox 50 mins from the port. Pre arrange a driver. Fellow travellers are congested at this port trying to arrange for transportation. If you choose to do Rome for a few days. It is a must. Book and Airbnb. Book tours through Viator. and take in the sights and food you will not be disappointed. This was an amazing journey. My apologies if this seemed long winded. These reviews do help me with journaling my travels. I found these tips to be of help for me while doing my research. I hope this will be of benefit to others. Celebrity will not disappoint. Bon voyage. Ciao Safe travels. Read Less

We chose this cruise (10 night Adriatic) because of the itinerary, Venice, Koper, Zadar, Dubrovnik, Kotor, Valletta, Catania and Rome. This was our first cruise with Celebrity, though not new to cruising, having sailed with several cruise lines previously. From start to finish our overall impression was understated excellence, professionalism and service. The Constellation is clearly an old ship, does not have the glitz like other ships but for us this was not an issue, quite the contrary. There was plenty of quality seating, even on the 'sea day' Use of the vast Thalassotherapy pool open to all guests without further cost and despite every cabin being taken there was no feeling of being the vessel being cramped. During the cruise the Master was notified that the Constellation could not berth at Catania, so overnight arrangements were made to tender in Siracusa. Free transport was laid on for those wishing to go to Catania. Having heard the comments from those who visited both it seems that consideration should be given to making Siracusa as the destiny, not Catania. A couple of issues, we chose to arrange flights and hotel stay ourselves, this saved £500 on the Celebrity quote. Celebrity charged $15 per overs on for port to town drop off, all the other cruise lines did this without cost, though charged for other things like premier seating. We found the cost of shore excursions exhorbitive and as such made our own arrangements. Tender to shore arrangements were poor, in Kotor the tender took 30 minutes. Despite somewhat lengthy queues waiting for tenders and preferential tendering for 'preferred guests', no seating was provided for disabled guests. As someone that uses walking aids I found the need for lengthy standing very hard. This was the only blot on what would have been a perfect cruise experience and needs addressing. In short, whilst we still book cruises for the itinerary, if we have the opportunity to sail with Celebrity again we would go without hesitation. Read Less

We were pleasantly surprised by the upgrade fairy at check-in moving us from an OV to a Veranda. This was our tenth cruise on an M-class ship and our fourth on Connie. As with most Celebrity crews, the hotel officers were visible and approachable throughout the ship, particularly in the evenings. The ship itself is in very good condition considering it has been at sea for 17 years. We are looking forward to the Edgification of the M-class ships as some of the furnishings are showing their age. With the exception of our room steward who needed reminders occasionally, we found the remainder of the crew excellent, particularly Santosa and his team in the MDR. We felt the food was very good and delivered hot each and every time. The menu selections were broad and tasty. Embarkation in Venice was a breeze. We disembarked at the older terminal (tent structure) in Civitavecchia and found it sufficient. Porters were readily available. We particular enjoy the entertainment on Celebrity and found both the cast shows and single entertainers very good. (This is one of the reasons we prefer X over HAL.) Read Less

Typically, we cruise whatever line is cheapest. For our honeymoon, we decided to go up-market for our cruise, as well as take a break from the Caribbean. Celebrity Eclipse was unequivocally the best ship we have been on. it seemed our honeymoon status followed us everywhere. From a card, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne from the Captain, to an invitation for sail away on the helipad, to the acknowledgement by wait staff in specialty restaurants, we have never seen a cruise line so well organized and in tune with their guests. Dining was sublime. I would argue the buffet on Eclipse was comparable to the MDR on Carnival. We, for the first time ever, dined at every specialty restaurant, including the Chef's Table. Bar scene was also perfect- upgrading from the Classic to Premium package was well worth the up charge. While our cabin was mostly typical of what you would expect on any other line, it was the small touches that made Celebrity excel; I.e., umbrellas, tote bags, chocolates on the pillow. Our cabin steward, Apollo, would stop working if he heard us coming down the hall, escorting us to our room and opening the door for us.No matter how many times we seemed to unmake the bed for mid-day naps, our room was never not made up. A far cry from what we're used to on Carnival, where service is only once daily. Celebrity's entertainment was by far the best we've seen on any ship. It was a wonderful change of pace to have live music throughout the ship, from the string duo playing during embarkation, to a live combo band accompanying the production shows. It was also wonderful to not have to contend with the typical poolside racket of belly flop contests, hair chest competitions, silly dance offs, etc. Ports and shore excursions were fantastic, and the reason we came on this trip. Captain Leo ensured that bad weather would not ruin our call in Santorini, re-arranging the order of ports to ensure we could visit the island. The ShoreEx staff was extremely organized- no milling around the gangway or on the pier to find our group. Hands down the best cruise. We're ruined and can only cruise Celebrity now. Read Less

We travelled Aqua Class which meant we could dine in Blu which we did every night our Hostess Cynthia was amazing as were all the staff and somellier. Our cabin was lovely and kept that way by Melvyn we had canapés every day as well. Bar staff were all superb especially Limesh and Vargas they looked after us really wee, I was amazed how they can remember your drinks with so many passengers to serve. The captain and officers were very visible and mingled with passengers every night. When we got off ship for an excursion Captain Leo was always there to wish you a good day, he was exceptional. Entertainment was good but not fantastic maybe we were expecting too much there was a good variety though. Alejandro the cruise director was very good or alej handsome as the captain called him. This certainly won’t be our last cruise with Celebrity you have hooked us. Read Less
