We wanted to see the Eastern Caribbean since we had went on the Silhouette for the Western 2 yrs ago. We loved both cruises, however I think we like the Silhouette a little bit better. We paid for Aqua class for the Equinox and we are not really sure what we got for our extra money other then choice of time to eat in the Blu restaurant. We did not really like being up higher on the deck except it was faster to get to the pool deck/bar that was a plus. The extra large overhang we did not like at all! It was also a bit rockier on the 11th deck compared to the 7th deck the last cruise! Our staff of employees were outstanding our room steward was fantastic and called us by name every time he saw us! The food was good, Blu was good, however I would not say outstanding. Our waiter and his team were outstanding! The shows were OK, comedian was great! Would have liked to see a little more variety. Our ports were great we stopped at San Juan and the most disappointing part was we got there late in the afternoon, so this made it very hard to do much sight seeing since many things closed at 5 or 6pm. St Maarten and St Kitts, loved them all got real tired of the Indians hard sell every time you entered their store, "oh I make you happy" "I make you great deal" HA that was a joke! I really wish the cruise ships would come up with a better way to get deck chairs, goodness getting up and having to go sit in a deck chair by the pool at 6:30am in order to get one at all is stupid! I also was not happy with the lack of sun areas on the equinox and you felt like you were almost sitting on your neighbor in the way the chairs are so close together! Poor planning on that one! My husband and I have nothing but positive comments about this cruise. We would definitely cruise again with Celebrity. Our cruise was Jan 14 - 26, 2018. Our last cruise was with Princess however didn't compare to this one. Flights from Buffalo - we booked our flights on JefBlue through Celebrity at a more than reasonable price. Booking flights through Celebrity guarantees transport to the ship, even if our flight got cancelled and we missed embarking - they would fly us to the next port. Our friends also flew JefBlue but didn't book with Celebrity, and their flight was cancelled due to a snow storm. They had to scramble to find another flight at a much higher cost ! The JetBlue flight was great as well. We also booked transport to and from the airport through Celebrity, at about the same cost as a taxi. This ship and its crew are amazing! From the cheerful and friendly stewards who looked after every small detail in our cabin, to the wait staff, bartenders, store clerks, and guest relations staff, we have nothing but praise. Always a greeting with a smile no matter how busy or the time of day. The ship is in perfect condition and is well appointed. All facilities are well maintained, fresh and cheery. Both the indoor and outdoor pools are great with plenty of lounge chairs. Of course there are the usual 'pool activities' each day as well as a nice casino, movie theatre, ping pong, bocce ball, dance lessons, ship tours, basket ball, etc to occupy the time at sea and in port. CABIN 8224 - we chose this cabin with a Verandah at a 'bump out' (midship, starboard side) which gave us a slightly larger verandah. Our cabin had plenty of drawers and closet space as did the bathroom. Sofa, small coffee table, tv, comfy bed - we certainly were comfortable. DINING - we did not dine in any of the specialty restaurants as we were more than satisfied with the amazing buffet and main dining room. The buffet varied daily with many delicious choices. Fresh baking is done in the ship's kitchens each day as well as home made ice cream. (speaking of kitchens, take the time to go on the tour. 16,000 meals are prepared there each day for crew and passengers) The main dining room is lovely and every meal was prepared perfectly. It was nice that the portions were small as we often ordered 3 or more appetizers. Of course second helpings of anything was available too. The soups were incredible; prime rib, chicken, pork and fish always cooked perfectly. Our 2 waiters and sommolier were the same each night which gave us the opportunity to chat and get to know each other as the trip progressed. SHOWS - were always entertaining. Comedians, dancers and incredible band and singers. SERVICE - was absolutely incredible whether at a bar, restaurant, internet lounge, etc. The drink packages are pricey but comparable to other cruise lines. The 'classic' package provided 90% of anything we wanted to drink with a dollar or two upcharge for a better wine or liquors. SHORE EXCURSIONS - we found our own excursions when we stopped at each port. We found plenty of safe and reliable locals at a far more reasonable price to give us a tour or get us to and from beaches or island attractions. PORTS - San Juan was still cleaning up hurricane damage however all ports provided shopping, restaurants and beaches. We were able to dock, rather than anchor off shore at every port which was great as our friend needed his scooter to get around. EMBARKING/DISEMBARKING - was tedious and took some time however with some 3,000 passengers and crew to manage, it went relatively smooth. ACCESSABILITY - as our friend requires a scooter to get around, their cabin was twice the normal size allowing use of the scooter in the cabin and bathroom. There was nowhere on the ship he couldn't go. Read Less

Reason for cruise was for pampering and relaxation after a difficult year. Let me just say that I find it difficult to relate the complaints I have seen on cruise critic with the reality of my experience on the Millennium. I found staff to be extremely helpful, kind, professional and going above and beyond what is required of them being either cabin attendant, wait staff and guest relations, etc. Always smiling and trying to please. Must be a hard job and I could certainly not do it. The food on board was on the whole tasty but if not to one’s liking, could easily be returned and something else supplied. No questions asked, staff just eager to make one’s dining experience as good as it could be, if you want more of one thing, or three or more entries not an eyelid is batted, same applies for deserts, have them all if you want. What the customer wants, customer gets. Yes Millennium is aging but what do you expect, you know the age of the ship before you get on, you are not as good today as you were 15 years ago. You can see by the new ships they are improving all the time. I had a few issues with its design with my mobility. All my issues were addressed with Guest Relations and taken seriously. I was treated respectively and was very impressed with their assistance and helpfulness. Ports were interesting and the trip was very enjoyable. I felt there was enough to do on board for those that wanted to be entertained. The Celebrity life games, trivia, Yes and No, etc. were very enjoyable and the Entertainment staff did a great job. Loved the coffee shop La Bacio, especially Victoria who was extremely helpful. My preferences were known after the first time, being lactose intolerant and needing lactose free milk. These was also known by the bar staff that supplied coffee to the dining room and knowing my stateroom details, hence not needing to see my card, this was very impressive. All I have to say people is cut the staff some slack, they are doing a great job and their jobs depend on you the people they are trying to please. Read Less

We chose this cruise during the week before Christmas - I am a public school teacher so the timeframe fit well. We had no problems during embarkation. We toured the ship and tried to get our bearings aligned! The spa/fitness center was located on the same deck as our suite so we were able to utilize that so that time could be spent doing more enjoyable things! I think deck 12 was perfect! Dining was just perfect! We only toured the buffet once and then ate at Luminae on 8 occasions! This restaurant was stupendous and excellent. The Maitre de' Restaurant was Franco, the Hostess was Simona, our waiter was Dev and he was assisted by Verona and GaGa and the wine steward was Iven (pronounced like Steven without the St). This team of excellent people were THE BEST the ship has to offer! Any question would be met with research and useful information, suggestions made to order, and service could not be better at all! The chef and pastry chef were all on point and the new menu nightly leaves no time for bordom of any kind! This restaurant was spacious but cozy, beautifully decoded, comfortable and inviting. We seriously felt like we were going to this dinner table at home each night. We can not say enough positive things about this restaurant. We did heat one lunch at an outside Pool /Deck Grill one day and the food was really good! We also enjoyed a Seafood Shack at Quisine one afternoon and it could not have been more perfect! A basket of food containing calimari, jumbo shrimp, lobster, muscles, crab cakes, crab/seafood bisque, garlic bread, Cole slaw, and French fries with spicey aioli, and tarter sauces. It was a divine meal alpthough way too mulch for lunch! I am normally not a seafood eater - I grew up in Oklahoma and had crappie and bass my entire life. But this food was prepared well and tasted delicious! I wasn't able to do the calimari but it was the only item on the menu I thought was flavorless and just not good. My husband loved it though so that tells you something about our likes and dislikes differences! Shore excursions were great trips but they are really planned too late to get there in time and end too early for us to get back to the ship in time. It makes me nervous to have to run like a crazy person to get back and not having a second to stop to check out souvenirs to purchase from where we are visiting! The last day excursion was very terribly planned, we were taken to the bus and dropped off. No one knew what was going on, where we were supposed to be, how much time we had...they even lost track of four people and I know ot really upset the pneople! Sawgrass Recreation Park and the Everglades Excursion was interesting but needs more training and customer service! Stingray City was an ok excursion but there are just too many people on those boats and it makes for a long, stressful, and tiring day. Smaller groups would make that experience so much better! The Turtle Farm was awesome! We chose to have our bags picked up by 10:00 the last night and the were checked onto Dallas from that point! We didn't mess with them until we arrived at our destination! What an awesome program! We highly recommend this one for sure! The photo package we bought which included all the photos the photographers snapped, is a really good deal. You just have to communicate with the photographers and ask for photos and poses you want in particular! Read Less

This was our second go at Celebrity Equinox. Our first one was July with our daughters (not the best but not bad either), this was our second time in as many months and it was the Christmas cruise. So keep in mind that they were putting a little more into it this time. EMBARKATION:The PORT was nuts! They need to complain to the port authority for the congestion!! There has to be better flow of traffic it took us forty minutes from our hotel nearby to actually get to the ship!! Once we actually got to the check in it only took ten minutes and we were on board!! Miami port is the worst my husband and I will be checking to see how many ships are in port next time. That may affect our decision. ROOM: We upgraded to Concierge and we also had a disability room as I am going for knee surgery in a month and needed the bar for the toilet sometimes as my knee locks(the video is up on you tube now) and balcony. Very comfortable although I had to ask for extra padding for the bed, way too hard. Our room steward was really nice made sure we were comfortable and was very informative, a first for us!Never had so much information thrown at us. We did like the little perks of being Concierge. Our own line at embarkation (which was a breeze by the way). and little treats every day. Balcony lovely. SHIP:was decked out like I knew it would be. Very clean, was happy to see them disinfecting things every day. I know a RCCL line that had a norwalk outbreak just a week before our cruise so it was good to see them being so diligent in cleaning. SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES: What is with not letting people get into the sky lounge at night just before dinner?!?! Every single night the same thing, nope can't get in it's only Diamond and Elite. By the third night I was steamed!!! I want to enjoy a glass of wine while looking out the front for just ONE night before dinner!! Most nights there was maybe a handful of people in there!! 80-90 percent of it empty!! Do what RCCL does, make half of the room for Diamond and Elite and the other half for just anyone wanting to come up and enjoy the room and bar. Seriously this is a game breaker for me, I'll just choose RCCL in the future if I can't get the amenities I want. There is NOT Enough TRIVIA! And the time of day 3:30 and 4pm EVERY DAY??? People are getting ready for dinner or just getting back on board. We only got to one of the trivias all week! Mix it up! The most activities they had was in the evening, you wouldn't believe how late they were! Some of them at 10:30 or 11:00pm! By 10:30 I was usually so bagged I couldn't make it out to them! Although the white party they had was fun enough I wanted to go to some of the others but they were just too late! SHOWS: We went to every show. Elysium was the same as last time so we didn't stay for the whole thing. TOPPER was our absolute favorite!! Gotta have more like that one! It has a story and great costumes and variety! The comedians were okay. Carnival still has you beat on that one. The finally show was the most surprising, I loved it! The aerial acrobats were some of the best I've ever seen. Pools:Hmm very busy as usual, The adult only Solarium was nice but stuffy sometimes. They have a wonderful food and smoothie station that I loved! We had a premium beverage package so the smoothies were covered otherwise you have to pay for them. But the food the put out was free. Dining: Our Dinning Room staff was top notch. Thank you Michelle,Randy and our Sommelier Namdev (i hope I spelled it right!).I must complement Celebrity on speeding up service in the dining-room. From the moment we sat down to finishing desert no more than an hour and sometimes even less! Fantastic! We went to ALL of the specialty restaurants. Murano-delicious as always. Sushi on Five-too salty at times but fantastic! Well worth the cover charge it's a shame more people don't go to it. Tuscan Grille-Wonderful! Their plates aren't for everyone, but their sauces are to die for! AND the WINNER of the best of the specialty restaurants SILK HARVEST! What a surprise!! We wen back to Gulhan twice we liked him so much. And the food! I'm sorry we didn't take our daughters on the lats cruise to this restaurant! Seriously you have to try this place! The MAST Grill - wow what great hamburgers!! Better than guys burger joint on Carnival MUCH better! All in all Celebrity restaurants and dining room win for best best food. The ocean view cafe buffet we went to a few times for breakfast and lunch and only once for a snack after dinner. But what I found with their buffet is the tendency not to change it up. Same every day and night with the exception of the one night they had a crepe station. Ports of Calls: This is my biggest pet peeve. The change our itinerary twice. We went to San Juan on Christmas day! Who's bright idea was that!?! The old town didn't offer a lot and a great deal of San Juan couldn't offer anything because of the hurricane damage. Shore excursions were limited and the even the fort was closed for the day. We made the best of it and went in for the very VERY short time we had in the afternoon and ate at Baracchina birth place of the Pina Colada. great food, terrible salsa, fantastic drinks! Suggest highly! St Thomas: Another Island Limited because of hurricane damage. We decided to take the ferry to St John. It takes a good part of your morning, and they were hit really hard with damage. They were taking people to a certain beach by shuttle but there however, we booked ourselves with ECOtours for honeymoon beach. I think we should have thought this over a bit more. Although the beach was the best we've ever seen, it was remote and don't even ask how you have to get there (the trail we were told to take was horrible!!) and there was no food (they relied on Carambola resort for food and it was devastated!! Again another video we have on Youtube) other than a snack bar and only soda and water. My husband loved that it was off the beaten path and they did have floaties and body surfing boards and chairs, umbrella's, but without food and no booze we were starving by 12:30 and left. I hope they get the place up and running again because I'll bet it was heaven on earth before the hurricane. St. Kitt's:the saving grace of this cruise. We went to the Marriott and it was wonderful! Great waves! My husband and I love to body surf! Great pool, great food. We're considering it highly for an all inclusive visit in the future. CREW & STAFF: Great! A great big shout out to DESI at the coffee bar. Thank you for constantly making that extra effort! There's a new Director for everything by the name of Damien, who was great! He and Dan the Entertainment director were constantly around. Doesn't Dan have any helpers??? he looked like he was constantly run off his feet! He was funny. The Crew and staff work really hard be good to them they look like the work really long hours and try their hardest. Disembarkation: Wow! This was fast and the best I've ever seen. And the perk of having our own area for Concierge was great because we didn't need to leave until 10am and we were almost the last ones off, but they started walk offs at 7am on the nose and people were stunned! They were still having breakfast! (I like an early walk off instead of waiting forever for them to call it) All in all I would recommend this ship. With a few detractors like more varied things to do and making spaces more readily available to people it was fun for my husband and I. We would look at this ship again. Read Less

We enjoy all the sea days and activities on transatlantic cruises for a relaxing and comfortable vacation. My husband is partially handicapped so cruises with a lot of ports are difficult for him. The crew was very helpful and supportive of his needs. We upgraded to Aqua class for this cruise and were not disappointed. The food and service in the Blu dining room were superb. The entertainment was excellent with good variety and quality. Our cabin steward was the best and went out of his way to make us comfortable. The lectures were not of interest to us but there were plenty of options available to keep us busy during the day. The Captains Club activities provided good socializing opportunities and Maila,, the hostess, was kind, helpful, available and did an excellent job. The Elite lounge for the evening socials was packed and very difficult to find seating. Perhaps by extending the hours from 5-8 the early diners could use the first hour and the later diners would be more able to find seating for cocktails before their dinner hour. We would certainly travel again on the beautiful Celebrity Eclipse. Read Less

This cruiseship is one of the best we had in our 8 different cruises. We travelled already with Princess, HAL and Norwegian. But with Princess this is the best company. If you like more fun and color on the ship than Norwegian is much better. But the quality of this ship is excellent. The only negative thing was our Congierge-package. And most of the beginning of the trip. When we arrived in Miami to check in it was overcrowded. We had a priority check in, but waitingtime of almost 1 hour is not priority. Even worser, people of other categories were faster with check in than we. And we missed due the long waiting our special lunch. Very disappointing when your cruise has still to start! The room was good, but not really big. Even the bed is not really big. With our 1.83 and 1.90 meters it was just too small. Room was very clean (thanks Bernadette!), bathroom is very nice with enough space. But strange thing in the room. There are cupboards hanging above the bed. But if you are old it is difficult to handle. Like the room the balcony is also small. We had bigger rooms and balconies on other ships. But every day we were happy with our cleanest room ever in our cruise-life! And with the congiergeroom (1188) every day it was a joy to have the little pasteries etc around 4pm. And also one time a bottle of good champagne! The food in restaurant and buffetrestaurant was excellent. A lot of variety and very good tastes. Buffetrestaurant was good organized with the different islands. It was never too crowdy to find the food. One thing, the sommelier of our table was not good in English. He didnt understand us well and we didnt think that he understands the wine-differences. And yes, drinks are very expensive. We were lucky to have a free classic beverage package, but without this trip would be the most expensive one ever. 9 dollar for a glass wine or 13 dollar for a cocktail is much to high! The shows were also perfect. Of course not all, but depends of your taste. The best one was the show Elysium. The lady with the blond hair was too good! She has to be a popstar!!! And Rich....I know you are love yourself, but please do it less...you are too over-energized.... We organized most of our tours by Celebrity. But the Go Native Jamaica was the worst ever! The bus was too small, dirty, very hot. And the trip was unsafe and nothing with Go Native. Even we received 15% back, we still had a very bad feeling about this trip. Celebrity, stop with this organisation Johns Hall!!! The other trips were good and the trip to the stingrays in CaymanIslands was the best! The ship was very clean. I never saw dirty floors or dirty toilets. Always someone was cleaning. So in overall, the cruise was very positive! Read Less
