We arrived in Miami on Friday night and spent the night at a hotel near the airport. I had arranged a car service to bring us to the port at 10:30 am Saturday morning. The driver was on time and all bags were loaded in and we were on the road around 10:35. No traffic in Miami on Saturday morning sot made great time. Car pulled up to the curb and all five bags taken away and not seen again until around 3 that afternoon. Gave the man a 10 and a big thank you and headed for the check in process. Many of discussed the confusion and problems of the Miami terminal but we did not experience any of that. There are two lines that form at the entry, stay to the right if you are sailing, I believe the left line is for those visiting the ship before sailing. Security was a breeze as was check in. All paperwork was in order and had a Sail and Sign card and told the ship was boarding and we could proceed towards the ship. This next part is a bit hard to believe, but trust me "truth". We were onboard with champaign in hand at 11:10 a.m. Hotel to champaign in 40 minutes. Really was a great way to start a vacation. We headed towards the Opus MDR for a sit down lunch (Concierge level) and was told it opened at 11:30. No problem, have a drink. Had lunch, met some new friends, and headed to room around 1 and found it clean and ready. We were on deck 12, room 2166, and loved it. Huge balcony in which we had breakfast most mornings. We had 400 OBC so we did the four night dining and ate twice at Tuscan, once at lawn club and once at Murano. They will tell you that you have to eat at Qsune but after some discussion they agreed to let us have Tuscan twice. All three were wonderful each in their own way. The pools, music, drinks, new friends, Sunset Bar staff, all thank you. A great week. Took about 30 minutes to get off boat, get bags, clear customs, and get a taxi. Read Less

5 day cruise to Cozemel and Key West on the Celebrity Constellation on March 14. Embarkation was relatively quick. Only delay was after checking in, had to get in second line to have picture taken for ship card. Why this could not be done all at once at check in as most do slowed the process. Had an Aqua Class cabin on Deck 9. Cabin was well organized, very clean and well maintained. Jaime, the Cabin Steward was excellent. Overall, ship staff was friendly but not up to the level of Silhouette. Constellation is older and smaller than Soltice ships but was well maintained and laid out. Ate in both Blu and San Marco Dining Rooms. Food in Blu was excellent and service was outstanding. Staff would even arrange for special dish the next day if you asked. San Marco food and service was very good. Tried room service several times with mixed results. One morning coffee was stone cold. Ocean Cafe offered many choices and most were good. The Martini Bar was outstanding. Great drinks, super bartenders who were very entertaining. Only thing that could be improved is a few more servers to take drink orders particularly around the pool. They certainly are no longer pushing drinks since selling so many beverage packages. Pool was crowded but usually able to find a lounge chair. One huge negative was smoking was allowed on port side of pool. On sea days lots of second hand smoke annoyed others. Celebrity should ban all smoking around the pool as many non smokers end up in lounge chairs nearby. Entertainment was varied and mixed. Enjoyed the comedian the best. Took Tequila tasting shore excursion. Great tour. Learned about the different types of tequila, learned best ways to drink it and tasted different types. Also enjoyed learning about history of Mexico and their art and enjoyed excellent taco lunch with drinks and wrapped up with aerial flyer performance. Well worth the money. Key West was nice change of pace with many excursion options. Disembarkation could have been much better. Walked off after short wait. However, we left from Pier 25 and parked there. Ship came in at Pier 4 clear across the port. Had to lug luggage onto bus for 10 minute trip to where we parked and surprise, no other ship was at Pier 25. No idea why this was done but ended a very good trip on sour note. Overall, this was a very good cruise and Celebrity remains in my opinion a cut above the rest Read Less

Worst Cruise when it comes to Food and Service!

Cruise March 21 2015 for 5 days (Fort Lauderdale)

Where do I begin?

Buffet,Main Restaurant, Food:

On the first day: (boarding) the ship cabins were not ready till 1:30pm so had to do the Buffet ( normal on any cruise). We couldn’t find a empty table for what felt like 15-20 mins. The Buffet area is small for the amount of people on the ship. I thought to myself I’ll chalk it up to being the first day…It wasn’t the second day at Key West in the morning was the same thing so we tried to go to Main Restaurant San Marco and it had already closed and it was only 8:30am. Really?

The lines just to get an Omelette was so long and you had to wait on that line just to get to the trays that had your basic Breakfast food like scramble eggs, Bacon etc. The Omelette station was too close to everything else. If you tried to get scrambled eggs you would be cutting the line. I love soft Omelettes and they didn’t know how to make them in Omelette station or in Main Restaurant San Marco. I would tell them Soft, runny, runny and would get it like normally cooked. Don’t look for Eggs Benedict or Poached eggs in Buffet area you have to go to Main Restaurant San Marco.

When you finally got a table at the buffet you couldn’t find service anywhere. Nobody to ask you if you wanted orange juice or coffee…NOTHING! Ohh wait they did have people asking if you wanted something from the bar $$$.You had to go looking for your own table setting. When you finish your plate no one would come to clear the empty plates. Wow! This was my Fourth Cruise ( MSC,Princess,Norwegian) first with Celebrity and never experience such bad service. The servers serving food in Buffet are not too friendly.

The service at Main Restaurant San Marco was not much better. We would sit down for Dinner at 6pm and walk out about 8pm…2 hours for Dinner. There was only one night that it took about 1 hour. The food took forever between courses. We would be scared to ask for something as simple as ketchup out of fear that it would never come or be too late. A couple sitting next to us never got their Omelette that the husband ordered. The wife had her meal and they husband never got his. He was just waiting for his wife to finish to walk out without eating and talk to the manager.

Dress Code in Main Restaurant San Marco was enforced only sometimes. Formal night not every man worn a Jacket.

Now on the taste of the food…Not Good. Buffet food seemed taste less and seemed to have the same thing everyday. The Pasta Station and Asian Station was pretty good and not a Sushi person here but that seemed like it was doing good. Main Restaurant San Marco the food for dinner was on average from 1 to 10…. I give it a 5.

Pool area:

Was nice but chairs go very fast with people up very early to put their towels on them.

really enjoyed the enclosed Spa/Pool area with a small buffet area.

Spa area:

The lay out was kinda weird. The mens locker room was not attached to the spa area ( Steam room etc, extra charge $$) but it did have a nice Sauna that was free and NOT coed. Attention cruise ships please go back to making NON coed Steam rooms and Saunas. One of two steam rooms is very small. Im a male and could feel that the lady in there felt uncomfortable with me being there alone with her which made me feel uncomfortable. The Fitness area was useable with nice views in the front of the ship and didn’t seem too over crowded.

Cabin: 8159

Found the cabin to be clean with nice balcony chairs and small table. Wish the bathroom had a exhaust fan and power outlet for my electric tooth brush. I’m glad I brought my own Memory Pillow because I found the pillows to be small and not that comfortable but the bed was. I didn’t like that you didn’t have privacy on your balcony because of the over hang of the Buffet seating area above.Did like that you didn’t need a card to keep the power and lights on in the room.Every once in awhile if you where laying in the bed during the day your would hear loud banging noise that would shake the bed but didn’t hear it at night when sleeping. Would have liked a Do Not Disturb sign. We did see people smoking in their balconies and would get the smoke in our area.Cabin Stewart “Orland” was great no complains there.

Shows ( Main Theater):

Really nice Theater with comfortable seating and a table for your drinks.First night show was 45 mins of a juggler. I got bored after the first 15 mins. The iHollywood show was probably the best for us and the last show I think it was called Land of make-believe.

Casino:

Not a gambler but liked the fact that there is NO Smoking there.

Verdict:

This was our first Celebrity Cruise and was told by friends that they always loved the service and the food…WHAT HAPPENED? It was the worst service we have ever experience on a ship and the food not good. If this is your first cruise i’m sure you wouldn’t know better but very disappointed.
