Have not done western med. wanted a cruise company with friendly staff. The staff were exceptional, except one. We chose aqua class, blue restaurant used throughout. The food has changed since using millennium in 2015. The food is not healthy eating now, but overall it was ok but some dishes same as San Marco. The staff in blu were exceptional. Although the ship has had a refurb in places it was difficult to see where. Cellar masters was very dark and gloomy. We are now elite cruisers and the free extras were very good. Ocean cafe staff were excellent. Staff was fairly good. Entertainment was up and down. Juggler was very good. Cruise destinations were good but did not use Livorno as a long way into Florence or Pisa. Excursions from ship were pricey. Used hop on hop off buses, excellent value. Gratuities were ok but did not like steward touting for a tip. Overall a pleasant cruise with exceptional weather. Lacked activities on board in respect of lectures etc and no formal evenings as such, but we knew that formal evenings were no longer Read Less

This Cruise was booked in September 2016 by my sister while she was on a Celebrity Cruise in the Balkans. The deal we got was tremendous, but we have sailed on Celebrity because we feel they are a step above others and the food has been tremendous. This cruise however left us disappointed in many ways. I will say the itinerary was excellent! The ship is 15 years old and has had some minor renovations but it's still 15 years old. We noticed quite a bit of rust and worn materials in various public areas of the ship. We were in Aqua Class on Deck 9, starboard. Which means every morning we were treated to crew moving furniture around the pool on Deck 10, bright and early! We did have an excellent cabin steward. Aqua Class dined in Blu which to me was quite a disappointment. There was nothing memorable or spectacular about the food or the menu choices. The service was great, but the food was nothing to write home about! This was our fourth Celebrity cruise. My sister and brother-in-law, and the other couple we were with have perhaps cruised 8 or 10 times on Celebrity. All agreed the food has gone downhill. I have always enjoyed the Mast Grill on every Celebrity ship. The burgers this year were disgusting, sorry but no other way to describe it. Not sure if it was the quality of the beef they were receiving in Europe or what, but they were horrible! Poolside bar service was also disappointing. They ran out of limes with three days to go, and ran out of Tito's Vodka with two days to go. How does that happen when you're actively marketing drink packages almost non-stop for the first several days of a cruise? We've also noticed a drop off in entertainment aboard. Maybe we were spoiled on our first two cruises with excellent bands but I'd prefer more music and fewer games while poolside, particularly on sea days. Theater productions each evening were pretty good, but the "big production" Elyria was "different"! We are currently booked for Alaska aboard the Millennium in May, fingers crossed that things will be better, but will be watching CC to monitor reviews, comments etc. While planning the cruise we were uncertain about what to do in Ibiza and Valencia. After boarding and discussing it with our fellow cruisers my wife and I decided we would book with the ship for those two ports. We had brought the Shore Excursion booklet with us. Was disappointed to find the prices to book on board were significantly higher than booking in advance. This may be customary but I wasn't aware of it. We are in our mid 50's, and our fellow cruisers in late 60's. I would say most of the guests were in the same range. Overall we had a great time, but as I mentioned above, I'm hopeful that others who expressed similar comments while onboard, will review here or let Celebrity know of their concerns. Read Less

Choose this cruise for the itinerary....wanted to spend some days prior to cruise in Venice and we were really looking forward to Dubrovnik and Kotor. Positives first - ship is in good shape considering her age, food in Oceanview and Marco Polo were above average, actually a lot better than the food we had on a previous Celebrity cruise last November through the Panama Canal. Any staff we encountered went above and beyond service expectations even though there are noticeable staff cutbacks. Entertainment overall was great. The ships entertainment crew and band were excellent. One of the better groups we have encountered on Celebrity cruises. Singers and dancers went above and beyond considering it was their last week on this ship/contract. Not so goods....Disappointing that Celebrity keeps changing their drink packages, i.e. last November on our Panama Cruise we could have Bailies but not this cruise as you had to have the Premium Package....most of the time I went to the bar to get our drinks as drink waiters were hard to find in the lounges and pool area. In the main dining room we were hardly asked if we wanted a 2nd glass of wine with our meal. First Evening Chic night was a disaster...front area was crazy, not sure what happened as I have never encountered this on any other Celebrity Cruises. When we finally got a table we waited more than 20 minutes to even get a menu, not sure what happened, maybe new staff or too many diners at the same time. 2nd Evening Chic night was 100% better. Café Bacio was excellent as usual and we enjoyed many afternoons there. We are loyal Celebrity cruisers but if they keep making these cutbacks we may have to start comparing other cruise lines. Venice, - We were their prior to cruise and walked around on our own. Ravenna - ship excursion RV23 Ravenna City Sights, we still had to pay for entrance to monuments/churches and didn't have enough time to see all that we paid for in the 5 monument pass. Very disappointing Dubrovnik - first day ship excursion DU06 Dalmatian Coastline and Wine Tasting, I have to say this is the best excursion/tour I have ever been on, well worth the money. Dubrovnik - ship excursion 2nd day walked around on our own, picked up some wonderful locally made jewellery Kotor - ship excursion KV17 Montenegro Highlights, this tour took us up through 25 hairpin turns by bus and into the country side, very good tour. Catania - ship excursion to Taormina CQ22 - Lovely Taormina, this was very good just wished for more free time there. Mallorca - ship excursion PJA5 Flamenco Show at Son Amar, EXCELLENT SHOW, only our bus was there, it was like a private show with tapas and sangreia. The dancers, singer, guitar player were AMAZING. Got to see a lot of the country side on our way there and back. Ibiza - Walked around on our own to the old city and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A lot of history to take in. Valencia - ship excursion VN25 - Panoramic Valencia tour, o.k. but needed more free time to walk around. Read Less

Enjoyable experience from start to finish! The itinerary was the biggest factor in selecting this ship. Great ports of call. Entertainment was excellent! Onboard activities were fun and engaging. Port & shore excursions were great! The ship was smaller than Solstice class ships we had taken before but we adjusted to the layout of the Ocean Cafe and dining room seating. We prefer separate food stations. All cruise staff were attentive and very friendly. Ship is a bit old and in need of an update. Cabin needs more storage and bathroom shows signs of age. The deck furniture was old and showed signs of wear and tear. Furnishings are dated and too dark. The lounges were dim and quite small. Overall, we had a great time and have beautiful memories. We took many pictures at the various ports and on the excursions. Our next Med. cruise is planned on the Eclipse. Read Less

We chose this cruise because most of these ports were new to us. We wanted a cruise that would depart out of Venice. We went 4 days early to enjoy this wonderful city. Getting on the ship was easy and fast. The food and service in Luminare was great. We ate there everyday and enjoyed it. The ports were beautiful with lots of offerings. We took some tours through the ship and some independent. Most of these ports were very easy to get around. The scenery is beautiful! We enjoyed the entertainment on board too. The entertainers that were brought on board were very good. We like the size of this ship. It was easy to learn where everything was. Also the passengers are under 2000 people so you can easily connect with other passengers. We enjoyed stopping by the Martini Bar before dinner. Great Martinis and a wonderful spot to meet up with fellow cruisers. Disembarkation was very easy too. For lots of reasons we enjoyed sailing on the Constellation in the Suites. I know it's more money but there are great perks. We loved this cruise and would go again. Read Less

We went on this cruise as part of the Abraham Hicks large group. It is so wonderful to cruise with people of such high vibration. The itinerary and group workshops were wonderful! We were well taken care of by our wonderful cabin attendant, Nino. Our cabin was well located aft and midship. We are used to the newer ships with better storage and bathrooms, than the Constellation. It took some getting used to. The water is very heavily chlorinated and I am allergic. I brought my own water filter, but I could still feel my skin burning and itching from the shower. The group had a large section in the main dining room reserved just for us. The wait staff was very good, Jom, the sommelier, was outstanding. We had the classic drink package included. That said, we couldn't get a martini from the Martini Bar with the classic package. As with the other cruises we have been on, we were nickel-ed and dimed to death from the overpriced specialty dinners to the overpriced shore excursions, shuttles and transfers. We didn't have the outrageous and S L O W internet package. I couldn't complete the Celebrity survey for this cruise because we were also on the Sept 28th cruise. I went up 3 times to the ilounge to complete the survey. When the ilounge attendant was finally there, the internet was too slow for my device. They give you 30 minutes to complete the survey which is sent to your email. The attendant said I would need 3 hours to complete the survey. using their speed and my device. My biggest complaint is that they have NOTHING for back to back cruisers as far as excursions in Venice. I didn't book anything before we left home, because we were given no idea about when we would get our new sea pass. The shore excursion desk was absolutely NO HELP at all. This one man in particular was very spiteful. We needed to know the easiest way to get to San Marco (vaporetto at 15 euro roundtrip) and how to get skip the line tickets for the Doges Palace and the Basilica. This man would give me no information.Celebrity should definitely have pre planned excursions for the back to back cruisers. We would have enjoyed ourselves a lot better had we known how and where we were going and not worry about getting back to the ship on time. Getting on the Cruise Critic role call and planning private excursions is definitely the way to go. We were denied a meet and greet party because we did not have the 25 required minimum. Read Less

Pros - Crew is top notch - Food is good, even in the buffet where we prefer to eat as other venues often to slow for us - Despite being an older ship without newer ship amenities like real shower doors, the Constellation is well maintained Cons - In room entertainment is a huge embarrassment - * Most channels are devoted to promoting the cruise and the cruise line * Only three channels have entertainment programming - + One channel has British TV shows - reality, game, drama, comedy - some are stand alone episodes, some are random episodes from conntinuing dramas such as Downton Abbey - many quite boring + One channel has American TV shows - mostly failed sitcoms and detective shows - again many quite boring + One channel has the "movie of the day" - this movie, whether good or bad runs continuously all day - if we watch a bad movie while getting dressed, do we really want to see it again in the evening? * Holland America now offers On Demand in room entertainment with hundreds of different programs - they even offer a channel featuring movies filmed in the areas in which the ship is porting - while I have taken 6 Celebrity / Azamara cruises since 2014, I will now favor Holland America if itineraries and pricing is comparable - Despite having cruised with Celebrity six times in 3.5 years, we are still not at a loyalty level worthy of being invited to its free cocktail party for more traveled guests- this is fine, but I detest being asked to leave the best spot in the ship every evening for the private party. Reflections is the lounge on the top floor forward -the best place on the ship to have a glass of wine and watch the sea views. When 5:00 pm rolls around those of us in the prime seats are asked to move over to a side area while the most loyal guests have this party. I watched them several nights. Most, maybe all, spent their time visiting with other cruisers and not enjoying the sea views. Perhaps the party for this group could be held on the dance floor or on the side since views do not seems to be of interest to the attendees. Read Less

I have to say, the embarkation was extremely smooth, so this was a good start to our cruise. I do however feel that even though having a refit the ship still felt a bit dated. The cabin was clean, but again felt a bit dated. We have only cruised 6 times previously and have never taken in a show before. This cruise however we took in 5 shows and really enjoyed them. The staff were so so friendly. A big disappointment however was the food in the dining room. The food on the sun deck for breakfast and lunch was very nice. One thing which really annoyed me was the fact that some passengers were refusing to apply the hand gel when offered by the crew, and i passed on this to one of the head of the ship. From a personal perspective we were disappointed with the lack of guest making an effort to dress up for dinner(we did every night, we feel this adds to the occasion). I am well aware that the Company has to make money, but the price for even a bus trip to Rome was $90 or there about's, we ended up getting a bus at the port 19 Euros each return. as well as this internet prices were again about $332 for a 10 day cruise. The itinerary was quite unique and the time of year worked for our small group. The starting city of Venice was a must for our friends and we love Barcelona where the cruise was ending. The cabin was well situated and we had a huge balcony. The smallness of the ship made it easy to find our friends without always having to walk miles. Rich the cruise director was great. We travelled with 3 young adults who felt the crowd was a bit old, but that tends to happen when off peak and on longer cruises. They still had a fantastic time. We enjoyed trying Qsine and Tuscan Grill, where I personally got to have the best filet mignon I ever had. Check in was super fast at the port of Venice and disembarkation fairly smooth. The one issue we had a lot was errors on our bill more than once, which became quite irritating. Read Less

My friend is a travel agent who recommended this cruise. We booked this cruise with 3 other couples and had a very nice time. The food was very good as well as the service. The only complaint we had was that smoking was allowed on the pool deck. Due to the pool deck being enclosed the smoke tended to hang as well as pass through the doors into the enclosed area's. Also as this ship is smaller those travellers who used the upper pool deck to walk or run constantly ran into obstacles, as their was limited space for this activity. The cabin was comfortable with a nice sized bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and had a nice selection of pillows to choose from. Our room was a ocean-view on deck 3 which we found was perfect. As this cruise had a number of stops we did not miss having a balcony as we were up early each morning and off of the ship. Overall we would recommend this cruise. Read Less

I chose this cruise for it's great mix of ports of call; favorites - Sicily, Montenegro and Valenica. Least favorite - Ravenna; as much as I love byzantine mosaics, the town itself lacks the charm as a ship destination; I would recommend going to San Marino or Bologna which will take more transportation time and the additional cost involved. The inside stateroom cabin met my expectations. The cruise staff is professional and friendly. The food quality was what Royal Caribbean was like 7 years ago and was high. I wouldn't recommend the burger or fries that are out by the pool. Dining room was elegant and classy. From a casual dining perspective, there is not enough seating on the outside back of the ship and it is only available on deck 10. The entertainment on board was diverse and there was something for everybody. Lots of great shows and entertainers in the Celebrity theatre. Minuses: - The actual docking ports were never within walking distance to the town; this maybe unique to the destinations themselves, but you will have to either pay for a shuttle service or be on a shore excursion. - The price of Celebrity's shore excursions are high; this is what drives me to Cruise Critic in the first place to meet my fellow passengers and create our own excursion for a fraction of the price with a much smaller group. - Deck 5 has too much shopping space that reminds me of being in a department store for women and fine jewelry. - There is a video sceen up on deck 11; the overall number of films shown is limited to 1 a day. I think they could do a better job in showing more variety. - There is a kiosk on deck 3 that allows you to send a Celebrity greeting with a picture via email to your family and friends. This machine was operating fine, but none of the recipients received their greeting. Read Less

The itinerary was the biggest factor in choosing this cruise as it visited a number of ports in the Adriatic and Med that we had not been to before. We last cruised on the Constellation in 2006 since when it has been through a major refit including the addition of aqua class staterooms and facilities which we chose this time round. We joined in Venice having spent the 2 days prior exploring that wonderful city. The great thing about this was that having stayed on the central Piazza Roma it was only a very short walk (over the road) to the public transfer system which took us to the cruise port in just a few minutes. This made embarkation a particularly easy and comfortable exercise. Constellation carries c. 2,000 guests, so a medium sized ship which we prefer. Because of the refit/expansion that was undertaken, occasionally some of the layout is a bit confusing but after a couple of days we sorted out our bearings. The open air and indoor swimming pools are both salt water ones, the former unheated and the latter more of a spa pool. After getting used to the salt water aspect, I really enjoyed the outdoor pool which is of a decent enough length for swimming. Our aqua class cabin was comfortable and well designed albeit the bathroom felt a little cramped. Plenty of wardrobe space with sufficient hangers. Standard sized balcony just taking two recliners and small table. We took all of our breakfasts and dinner in Blu Restaurant which is exclusive to the Aqua cabins. Food had a slightly healthier eating aspect to it but plenty of choice and excellent quality. Service was excellent with a nice rapport built with our waiter team, sommelier etc. Probably the best overall entertainment package we have experienced in the theatre. Most of the guest artists were British, except for a husband and wife from Australia (separate and very different acts on different nights). The in house team were also very good. We didn't take any of the shore excursions which, as usual for Celebrity, are very expensive and we can find enough to do in port or with locally booked trips on our own. We also found it easier and less expensive to find taxis in most ports and it does frustarte me that when Celebrity is responsible for the shuttle service, they want to charge $15 or $20 when locally provided ones charge €7 or €8. Good itinerary and our favourites were Dubrovnik (overnight), Ravenna, Catania (Sicily) and Valencia. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the timing and destinations. We were a group of 16 people aged 8 to 83. With us we had 2 children with Celiac (aged 12). We had inside rooms and a balcony room all in front on the 9th floor. The staff was amazing, destinations were great all our dining was in the main dining room, Pool Grill, Oceanview Bar and the OceanView Cafe. I will start with the good, the staff is friendly, helpful and efficient, you can see that they enjoy what they do and they do their best to make your stay enjoyable, this applies to everyone starting at the room steward, the waiters, entertainment staff etc... Food was tasty and variety was very good, everyone in our group agreed that the regular food server was rated from good to excellent. Even though she is starting to show her age the Constellation is a very impressive ship. The ports of call were great, the destinations were fabulous. The OK, on board entertainment was good but activities were a bit on the weak side for the younger cruisers in our group. Although expensive the internet (onboard wifi) worked well. The so-so, Built in 2001 the constellation is starting to show her age in certain areas, some flooring around the pool had cracks, bed skirts were worn out, shower curtain rings had rust spots decor is a bit aged. We also had a short technical difficulty during which (about 30-45 minutes) none of the toilets in our area flushed. The not so good, even though we verified before we booked that they can cater to people (children) with celiac, and we confirmed during booking and reconfirmed by sending a special dietary form ahead of time and again by phone days before the cruise, the first few days breakfast and lunch were challenging (main dining room was organized). It took a conversation with the F & B manager and the head chef (who were very understanding and very nice) to get things going and unfortunately we were halfway through the cruise when we got to meet them. Without going too much into details we advise anyone with special dietary needs to go to guest services the first day just to make sure they are aware of your needs and expectations. Extras are on the expensive side of the scale. Overall compared to the offering in terms of value for money we found it to be OK as long as you don't go for the extras. Read Less

Our cruise to the Mediterranean on the Constellation was truly amazing. We visited Italy, France and Spain. Cabin 7051 was adequate. Ship has been refurbished, but still shows wear. Although we would sail on it again. TV reception was nonexistent. As we like to keep up with world events, it was upsetting. Blackout lasted for five days until they got tired of our complaining and fixed it. Shower in cabin is largest we've ever had!!!! Ports were all beautiful. We formed our own tours in all ports through Cruise Critic participants except for Portofino. We took the ship's tour to Cinque Terre. They did a wonderful job. Since Cinque Terre is far, we were glad to have the reassurance that we would be back on time or the ship would be waiting. We had heard stories of many people nearly missing the boat due to the distance of Cinque Terre away from port and the many means of transport necessary to get there. Bon voyage! Read Less

This was the first cruise for the Constellation coming out of dry dock. We were supposed to sail Friday morning out of Barcelona. We had been there a few days prior and received an email late Thursday night about the delay. Our hotel did not have any open rooms for the weekend so we went to the pier as instructed Friday morning. We were put into a group of about twenty and sent on a bus to a hotel. Unfortunately our group was dropped off by bus at a hotel that said we did not have rooms there. Many phone calls later by people in our group, no assistance from the hotel, someone in our group got information about hotel #2 from Intercruises (Celebrity partner) and off we went in individual taxi's. We got to hotel #2 and were told the same, no rooms for you. The group of around 20 of us, finally after 6 hours and many phone calls to Celebrity, Intercruises, anyone, we were sent to hotel #3 and finally booked into rooms. We were told someone from Celebrity might meet us at hotel #3 to make sure we got rooms, but never happened. Other groups said they spent Friday and Saturday on tours by Celebrity in Barcelona as they got into their hotels first try on Friday, but not for us. We did hear good and bad stories about people who had Gran Prix tickets, but we didn't have that issue. We went to the pier again on Sunday and embarking went smoothly. The compensation from Celebrity for the missed two days and stay in Barcelona was well handled and did take the negative sting out of everyone. Good public relations job on their part. The pro's: beautiful ship that was refitted and looked good. Nice public areas, well kept. We got laundry service and it was great. Another reviewer said a group disembarked early and this could be why we rarely saw large groups. Food in the Tuscan Grille was amazingly good, as was the service! We ate several meals in Luminae and it was good and service was good. We asked several times in Luminae for the MDR menu, as we read that this was possible since one of us isn't a fish fan. They did this but it was almost like we insulted them by asking. Staying in a suite, we had all inclusive dining and beverage options which was great. This did not include the Burger Bar on deck ten, which we tried and thought it was okay but probably not worth the extra cost since we could eat anywhere else included. Cafe al Bacio had excellent cappucino/espresso etc but we could not get it to go in our room as advertised. The staff in Michael's Club were very helpful and I'm sure had their hands full with all the rebooking. We tried Qsine at a dinner with the Captain and it was great. The entertainment was good and varied but no staff for drink service. The theater never seemed full but again, it could be a large group disembarked early. I can't imagine why, but the lack of crowds everywhere was nice. The con's: the crew did not have guests for two weeks prior and appeared new to their jobs. Our bathroom toiletries were never replenished and we had to ask every day; we allegedly were to get afternoon snacks because of being in a suite and after asking for some pretzels or any snack, the last day we got little sandwiches; there is no pillow menu as some people have said and again after asking for an extra pillow, it may or may not show up and disappear; our room would sometimes get serviced each day even though we took Celebrity shore excursions so they would have known when we were gone; had to ask for mini bar replacements (diet Coke not alcohol) several times; several times there was no one in Michael's Club even though we were there at advertised times; the buffet did not have stations set up at advertised times. It just seemed like we were training a new crew. I hope the next sailing benefited from our repeated reminders. We didn't find a lot of activities on board but it could be that they were orientated towards the pool, which we didn't spend much time at. The security procedures on/off the ship were good and we always felt safe. If a large group disembarked early as we heard, we chuckled that the crew members assigned to them, left as well. The Captain did a good job with some onboard emergency while we were at port in Civitavecchia, causing several hours delay in leaving. He sounded some emergency code several times for the crew (code bravo, bravo, bravo) and they remained calm and reassuring. The shore excursion in Croatia was a bus tour and the countryside was beautiful. We were somewhat perplexed that they gave us an hour free time at a bus stop, then rushed us around the city walk through Zadar. Montenegro was amazing and not to be missed. We enjoyed all the stops in Italy and having been there before were about to pick and choose different tours. We enjoyed the pesto tasting in Genoa. We have sailed with different companies and still think Celebrity is the way to go. Read Less

The crew could not have done more. I cruise a lot and have rarely seen a crew so nice and accommodating. The boat is old but kept in excellent condition and clean. I do not suggest you stay on the second floor. We had room 2000. The door to the crew was right next to us. We nicknamed it the crew highway. There was constant ongoing maintenance going on and at one point they were emptying a cabin which had flooded. We have never seen so much repairing going on. None of this effected us though. We were the last sailing before the 2 week dry dock to give the ship a facelift. I am hoping the give the crew a boat worthy of their excellence. The food and drink was good. Best sugar-free desserts. The buffet restaurant actually had fantastic food. Entertainment varied, some shows were excellent, some of the other entertainment was OK and did not stand out. The on and off boarding during every port was excellent. We never waited to get off. The greeting upon returning was fantastic. In fact, we never waited in line for anything. Even the elevator came quickly. The ports were great - no tendering. We did Italy, Malta and Spain. The daily things to do was lacking. It was either geared to selling something or there wasn't that much of it that interested us anyway. Also, the TV was not good. They charge for movies which was disappointing. I think this boat is geared to 50's and up. I had a massage and it was very good. It was on the expensive side and they never really went on sale though. Also, the day you stuff all you can into a bag for the laundry did not happen either. No washer/dryer on the ship so we wound up washing things in the sink and hanging them. Overall, I would take the cruise again. It is a good value for the money. There are a few things I would do differently such as downloading movies before I go, bringing more books, etc. This cruise was relaxing and low key. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the boat is in need of an facelift. If this happens it will make a wonderful 5 star vacation. Read Less

We chose this cruise mainly for the destinations, secondly for the dates, thirdly for the duration. We cannot fault the service given throughout the cruise from all the staff we encountered, waiters, cabin staff, bar staff were all a joy to speak to, they couldn't be more helpful, and in many cases they were funny and amusing, a great credit to the ship and the cruise company they work for. The entertainment was not to be missed, it was brilliant, the resident ships entertainers were producing productions close to West end standards, the individual guest entertainers were also excellent, they had us in stitches. Embarkation and disembarking procedures couldn't be faulted in both cases. The ship as a whole is in good condition, a little tired here and there but not worth making a statement about. Cleanliness throughout couldn't be faulted, food exceeded all expectations, nothing was too much trouble for any of the waiters. Now the bad bits for us, from the moment we stepped on board we were attacked with offers for drink packages, it was hard sell! We are not teetotallers but just occasional drinkers, the odd glass of wine or beer in the evening even a glass of spirit if it took our fancy. The cheapest package for drinks per person worked out at 45 dollars plus 18% service charge per day, over the 10 day period that would have been 531 dollars per person, equating to approximately £415 each or £830 per couple. We didn’t feel that was an option we wanted to follow, we decided to buy drinks as and when desired, just a few examples a small baileys would come to 10 dollars (£7.81) each and a small wine approx $8.5 (£6.64) both of these items had 18% service charge added additionally, now making the bailey’s £9.22 and the wine £7.83. Having cruised with Thompson and P&O we have always found that the drinks on both these cruise lines were very reasonably priced, maybe this factor should be considered when booking another cruise? Our next little gripe is the excursion prices, unfortunately this is not indigenous to Celebrity cruises, as everyone knows this is widespread throughout the cruising industry, maybe if the trips were more reasonable more people would use them and thus probably make more profit for the cruise companies in the long run, on the other hand maybe the cruise companies are themselves being ripped off by the tour excursion operators and they should themselves make a stand to reduce prices, who knows, but what is known is that the majority of people can afford the cruises but then adding on the excursions takes it to another level. I loved the ship, the crew and the many activities. However, I do have to mention that the shore excursion with Celebrity on to Sicily- Taormina, Lava River, Wine tasting and Jewels was very disappointing. We booked thru the ship for 159.00. The bus going up and down to Taormina was ridiculous. Over a hour and half either in bus going up or waiting for bus to go down. We barely had an hour in Taormina. We had to cancel the Lava river and rushed through the ladt to things and got back to ship at 7:00 instead of 5:00. Wasted day all the way around. You refunded 27.50 which is a joke. It should have been the entire fee. I have sailed Celebrity before to Alaska and it was awesome. The second disappointment was the entree"s at Blu restaurant. Both Jo and I had steak first night and it was all grissel and we could not eat it. The next night I had the duck and it was horrible. It looked like a piece of raw tongue-they took it away. Jo had lamb which was OK. We did not go back for dinner after that. Breakfast was always good. The crew, entertainment, Adhy our personal assistant, and everything else was wonderful. We booked 3 more excursions (one with ship ) and rest with shore excursions..I hope this helps for future travelers. Thank You Mary Lemmer . Read Less

We chose this particular cruise due to the itinerary. I knew the Constellation would be undergoing a refurbishment immediately following this cruise and it does need a facelift. We were on Deck 8 in cabin 8072. This was my second Celebrity cruise in 6 years, have sailed on Carnival and Princess during the six years. I sailed on Celebrity Solstice 6 years ago and expected some differences due to the different class of ship, but there was a vast difference. We had some unexpected poor weather which brought everyone indoors so there was not enough interior space for everyone. Also, I felt the food was not very good, even in Ocean Liners. I wanted to try a Ocean Liners since it was being removed and I had heard great things about it. Maybe because it was the last night it was open, but there was only one dish served that I thought was good. I can't even remember what I had to eat there. We did eat at Tuscan Grill and service and food was so much better. I'm not sure I will choose Celebrity again. I am going on a Panama Canal cruise in 8 months and will be cruising on Princess. I did like the lunch in the main dining room the day of departure. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. My room steward was great. Some of the servers; I.e. in Cafe El Bacio, should have stayed home....they weren't rude but not friendly, one in particular. We had select dining and every server we had was good. I did my own shore excursions but did one excursion through the ship, it was fine but the excursion leaders need to be reviewed since I think they could have been better. Read Less

Excellent service, excellent entertainment but the ship is old and tired She was headed to Marseille France for a two week overhaul. Let's hope they redo the seat cushions in the oceanview café-terribly soiled and stained .Activities were fun-lots of trivia.Great ports, very interesting. Easy embarkation, easy disembarking also. Very friendly and professional staff. Cabin steward was excellent, friendly and very efficient. Can't say enough about the staff and their desire to go above and beyond. I wouldn't fault the staff for the wear and tear of the ship. The Solarium pool is in desperate need of a makeover. We were told it would be taken care of while in dry dock. I would sail on this ship again as long as they have taken care of the update and overhaul. Celebrity does a great job with the onboard entertainment. Jayne Curry was funny and very talented. Gareth Oliver was hysterical! Read Less

We chose this cruise specifically because it was going to Israel. We had been to most of the other ports. The crew and service was excellent. I would like to suggest that they use less salt however, in their food. Our cabin was a Comcierge class balcony on deck 8, midship. It was so stable, most of the time we had no idea we were moving. The cabin was a little smaller than I thought it would be, but it was just enough space. I think that the cabin decor could have used a good update to make it more luxurious. We just about never used the balcony since we were out and about the ship or touring during the day and at night we were sailing and it was too windy. We only saw a couple of the shows since we were so exhausted after touring all day that we mostly just went to bed. This was not a relaxing cruise, it was very "port intensive". I am still recovering from it as I type. I felt that there could have been more activities on sea days. There is only so much shopping and eating you can do. We only used the cruise line for one of the tours we took and I'm sorry to say that the private tours were far better than the cruise line offerings. It was worth all the homework and research our group had to do. I will say that the embarkation and debarkation procedures were excellent. I just wish that the cruise lines would stop pushing their alternative dining venues just to boost their bottom line. There is only ONE kitchen so you folks that fall for their "special dining" are fools. I will NEVER give a cruise line one penny extra for food that is already included. They nickel and dime the passengers enough. If it is not the ART AUCTION, it's the BOOK ONBOARD, JEWELRY SHOWS, etc. It gets old really quickly. Certainly, Celebrity is not the only cruise line to do this. They all do. Would I go again? I would surely go to Israel but I think I have been to the Mediterranean a sufficient number of times. We chose this cruise for our group of 8 primarily for the itinerary. We have sailed with Celebrity a few other times and have had a good experience. We were reluctant to book on the Constellation based on other reviews, but all in all we had a very good experience. We had one concierge room (8092) and three inside state rooms. The Concierge room was in a great location near the elevators and close to the Concierge desk. Embarkation was relatively smooth. We kept a couple of carry-on's and once on board, changed clothes and headed for the pool. We were able to grab a snack at the buffet and have drinks by the pool before the crowds arrived. On our first night we opted to eat at the Tuscan Grill since they were offering dinner at a 20% discount on the first night. The food was good and the service (with Angel) was fantastic. Several people have complained about the need for updating and we found most of the comments to be relatively accurate. However our room was clean as were the public areas, so that didn't impact us. Many others complained about poor service. Most of the crew was friendly any time we saw them. We had an excellent room attendant (Frederick) and our head waiter (Willy) was top notch. The concierge on deck 8 was a huge help to us on several occasions. Catarina in the coffee bar was very attentive and the staff in general was very pleasant. We did notice that in the main dining room the lady (don't remember her name) who took cocktail drink orders wasn't pleasant. We had a classic beverage package that was a "free perk" when we booked. That package was fine but didn't include many of the drinks I wanted to try. We ended up upgrading the package to a premium one (an extra $10 a day) and found it to be well worth the extra money. Interestingly enough, once we upgraded our package we noticed she became much more friendly. The food in the main dining room was relatively good. We had experienced much better food on the Equinox and on our Princess cruises, but the food was still pretty good this time. The portions were smaller than previous times, but we found them to be more than enough for us. There seemed to be fewer choices this time on the menu, but Willy did a great job with his recommendations. For three of the ports (Rome, Amalfi Coast and Venice) we booked a private tour through Shore Trips. I highly recommend them. It isn't cheap (but neither is Celebrity) but for a group of 8, we were able to do so much more than we would have had we spent our money through Celebrity. We also used Viator for a tour in Venice. We did book two Celebrity excursions. Kotor, was a nice experience. We did the three hour kayaking trip in the bay. We tendered at this port and then walked to the kayaks once on shore. We had ample time to kayak with a break for swimming and a snack. It's a beautiful port and one of our favorite places. Our other Celebrity excursion was in Zadar Croatia. We had booked a canoe trip down the river. However it was a 2 person kayak. The description that Celebrity gave for this excursion was not what we experienced. This kayak trip included a large waterfall where we had to abandon our kayak for it to be hurled over the waterfall while we climbed up a slippery hill and climbed back down again. One lady slipped and sprained her ankle. On another occasion we had to have one person get out of the kayak and carry the igloo of dry goods with a paddle along another slipped cliff while the other person went down a waterfall. It wasn't safe for both to go down that waterfall. We were rushed throughout this excursion and had no time to take a break for water, swimming or even enjoying the scenery. I definitely would not book that excursion again. As soon as we returned to the ship two different couples went immediately to medical. We over heard that we were dropped off in a location that they don't normally use, but whether or not that is true, Celebrity should update the description of that excursion. Entertainment was pretty good on board. We enjoyed the live music with the string duo and the house band. We also enjoyed DJ Lenny for the dance parties. We played trivia every day that we were back on time. The theater performances were fair although the comic was rude. We didn't care for that show at all. The casino was the same as it is on most cruise ships. The shopping onboard was disappointing. I didn't feel they had many choices as far as items like hairspray, dental floss, etc. Disembarkation was smooth and all in all, it was a very good experience. We look forward to sailing on this ship after it has gone through a refurbishment. Read Less

The ship was an exact replica of the Summit so we knew exactly where everything was. It is a nice ship but nothing new. The food was spectacular, as always. There was no need to go to one of their gourmet restaurants when you have 5 start food and service in the regular dinning. I have never been a big fan of their entertainment, mainly because they mostly cater to an older age group. The service was outstanding. The restaurant staff, bartenders, and stateroom staff were fantastic. We went on the 8 night Adriatic and Mediterranean cruise which had great ports. I would recommend this cruise to anyone. We stopped in Cannes France, Rome, Salerno, Kotor Montenegro, Zadar Croatia, Ravenna, and Venice Italy. They were all lovely ports and Celebrity had numerous excursions with very different activities for everyone to be able to choose the activities they wished to partake in. Read Less

We chose this cruise as it went to the locations we wanted at the times we could travel. It was our first cruise and we really enjoyed it. We felt very pampered and enjoyed travelling from location to location without having to unpack and repack. We had an ocean view room and it was more than enough for the two of us. The evening dining was excellent and so were the fine dining establishments - although the Tuscon Grill overcooked my steak. The buffet food was decent but the service was not great - we frequently finished our meal with no one coming to take our drink order until we were almost done or not at all. We didn't really go to the evening shows, except for one which we enjoyed. The ports and shore excursions were the highlights for us. We did some independent excursions and one with Celebrity, and other places we just wandered on our own. The only destination I was disappointed with was Zadar, Croatia. Not much to see or do there... perhaps we should have booked an island tour excursion. The rest of the destinations were amazing and we really enjoyed them. We will definitely cruise again. Read Less

I chose this cruise for the price, date availability and itinerary. It was a long time since I cruised and was very excited I had the opportunity to take a Mediterranean cruise with my family. I was pleased with the overall cleanliness and ports visited. The food was good. The cabin room and crew was very good. Security was also very good. Every port going and coming back there was a full passenger screening. I loved the ice cold towels and cold drinks before entering the ship at each port. It was very hot and humid in Europe and alot of exploring left us overheated at times. The drink pkges, tours, and some other extras that use to be free wasn't free anymore. The main dining room meals and service was good. No more flamed Baked Alaska that would have been nice for my son to see. Still had lobster on the menu one night. I saw few smiling faces in the buffet and bar staff. They were constantly watch by their superior for cleanliness that they had no time to smile at the guests. Overall I would recommend this ship for the value and ports of call. Read Less
