Celebrity food and service were both exceptional! Ship may be showing a bit of age, but the crew and service remain outstanding! Dining room food some of the best experienced in many cruises. Bar staff and service great throughout the ship, especially the Martini Bar (Ice Bar!). Check-in process at the pier seemed a bit awkward, but no serious problems. The cruise buffet food was not the best we have experienced, but still very good. Specialty restaurants were outstanding! Several entertainment shows were outstanding! Great options for shore excursions, and the itinerary was excellent. As always, cruises departing from Rome give a great opportunity to explore Rome, and we arrived three days early to do just that. Ports on the itinerary like Malta, Israel, and Crete were exceptional, and not ports normally seen on Med cruises. Definitely an itinerary we would take again. Price, service, food and itinerary made the cruise outstanding for us! Read Less

Itinerary very good. Most shows were very enjoyable.....specially the vocal ones. Jane. Curry stood out as usual. Both her performances were amazing. Her wonderful voice combined with vitality were indeed remarkable. But the other singers were excellent as well.. did not enjoy the last night comedy show nor the ships crew shows except the acrobats who were very. skilled. The magician was good. Wish they would find. new words. for the Liars Club....every cruise they have the same ones ...so boring as we know all the answers ...so not funny anymore Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. We were in a Concierge Class suite with a balcony on deck 8, located midship, which was convenient. We enjoyed the ports and used local sightseeing trains and busses to explore. The best part of the cruise was the new friends we made! The cruise was smooth, we got to go to the heliport for sail off, which was cool, and the cruise uneventful for any issues. The shore excursions - one good, one, not. Celebrity needs to make sure that the tour matches the written description! We did better on our own. The food was okay, but I think they need to update their main dining room options.... we did not pay extra for the restaurants. Every morning we were greeted to the buffet by the happiest person in the universe, Jackie! The entertainment was cruise ship standard - a few good acts, some okay, a few not that good (we felt sorry for the performers who looked miserable). The new wifi was much better than a few years back, but slowed the last few days of the cruise, which was disappointing. Overall we had a wonderful time, and I will sail Celebrity again in the future (this was our second time) hoping to go on the new Edge! Read Less

Itinerary was great. Loved the new ports. Ship food was pretty disappointing in main dining and few choices of other venues. Although staff tried to please and were willing to offer another dish, food just did make it. Menu options not really good. Somehow pork and beans didn't really stand out. Lobster night did. Tuscan grill always outstanding. Too bad no Lawn club. Service overall was great as well as crew members. They really tried hard to please. The shows were mediocre at best and the casino was dead each evening. Since we had perfect weather, had the opportunity to sit outside and take in The rays on sea days. Overall. Will return but to a newer ship in the fleet. The constellation is an oldie and she is beginning to show her wear and tear. Might be better serving a different type of itinerary. celebrity is still a great value and a fun time. Read Less

This was our second cruise on the Constellation and as with our first cruise - it did not disappoint. We selected this cruise for its itinerary (as all of the stops were new with the exception of Livorno - but we did something different than the first time we were there), the price, and because it is Celebrity! Embarkation was as smooth as silk. We were a little early (1030am) but were allowed to board and it only took 10 minutes. Our cabin was an oceanview (lowest category available - 08) right at the front of the ship (2001), but the cabin was of good size, quiet and very "stable" - no rocking! We chose this cabin because of the incredible price/value (as it included drinks, tips and $200 obc) - for less than $1000 per person!! We ate all of our evening meals in the Main Dining Room and the service and quality was great. I liked the variety and quantity!! Entertainment on the ship was ok. The main performers were average with the exception of the magician. His act was pretty amazing. The games and other activities on the ship were really good and plentiful. What made this cruise was the crew - Celebrity seems to hire the friendliest and most helpful people. The itinerary (and luckily the weather) was amazing. The cruise was absolutely awesome with the places we got to see. I don't really have too much negative to say (yes...I could nit pick like most people like to do), but overall, I had a great time on the cruise, had plenty to eat and drink, and the ports were interesting. Celebrity did not disappoint and I will continue to book with them in the future. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary which included several ports we hadn't been to before. We had a Sky suite after having been aqua before but I'm not really sure what the advantages actually were. Our Butler did nothing and forgot to do the things we asked . I've had much better service from our cabin stewards .So I would not pay all that extra money next time ,using the money instead on Specialty restaurants, excursions drinks etc. As we had a drinks package we preferred the other bars to Michaels . Luminea is a lovely restaurant with an amazing staff but many times we'd ask for things off the othe restaurant menus . Celebrity will have to watch with so much completion ,the prices for everything were really inflated:- Internet .no real package choice ,$295 for unlimited minutes Speciality Restaurants $45 a head Classic drinks package only covers drinks up to $9 but so many glasses of wine, cocktails ,liqueurs were $10+ Shore excursions ..very pricey we used small independent local shore excursion providers with only 8-10 in a mini van In room Tv programmes very limited with pay for on demand movies (on Princess in July these were all free) Saying that the weather was fabulous ,seas calm and the ports all fantastic apart from Sete, So we had a fabulous holiday .But Celebrity used to be my No1 ,I've had second thoughts! We chose to cruise to celebrate my husband's birthday and since we have been to Europe many times this ship had an itinerary that was different for us. It wasn't our first choice to go on the Constellation because it was an older ship......but what a surprise!! The renovations that have been made to the ship are really lovely and we even booked another cruise on this ship for next year. The crew was outstanding and the service was amazing. We dined in Blu and each time we were greeted by our names both by the hostess' and waitstaff. We were made to feel Special each and every day. I was impressed with the level of service given to our meals, and by our cabin steward. We are not new to Celebrity, we are Elite Plus members, therefore we feel qualified to say that the service and ship were Outstanding! I would also like to add that we rarely attend the shows onboard, if we do we usually sit on the end so we can leave if the performance is not to our liking, on this cruise we loved the entertainment and stayed through most of the shows. If there were any cons, I would have to say it was disappointments with some of the shore excursions. The problem is since we were in France on a Sunday and Monday most shops were closed and we still had 2 to 2 1/2 hours of free time with no place to go but sit around. I would suggest that the tours either be shortened on those days or discarded altogether. Read Less

I was forced to choose this cruise because Celebrity relocated Equinox to the Caribbean after I had booked a Greek Island Cruise on her, so in fairness this cruise was 'second choice'. I had cruised on Constellation many years ago before the launching of the Solstice Class ships which I have cruised on very happily for some years. Constellaion, is not in the same league as the Solstice class ships. Despite a recent visit to the dry dock she looks dated and lacks charisma.'Over painting ' may have looked good at first but rust is already breaking through. The sun beds had not been replaced just frame painted which was scratched and scuffed after a short time.Upholstery had been replaced in some ares and this brightened the interior a little.Loungers with cushions brightened and gave comfort on the sun deck, but all other loungers were without pads. Concierge Cabin was OK and well serviced but no Sparkling wine or flowers this trip. Restaurants:¨Ocean view, Lay out confusing at first food mediocre and often cool Main Restaurant, food of a good standard but noisey Tuscan excellent in every respect The biggest disappointment was the removal of The Murano to be replaced by Sushi on 5, what a let down! The loss of this restaurant would definitely stop me booking Constellation again, Generally Officers were seen and polite, on social occasions friendly. Many staff were cheerful and accommodating but some, appeared to lack interest. There was a general lack of atmosphere in most of the bars except the Martini Bar which as always generated a good atmosphere. Finally I enjoyed the cruise partly down to the good weather and The Tuscan Grill which served superior food. Would I book again, unlikely on Constellation Read Less

Cruising the Mediterranean in early Fall is a great way to avoid crowds at the port cities while still enjoying nice weather that ranged between 70 and 80 degrees during the day. The Constellation is an older ship with about 2,000 guests, which makes It easy to get around without encountering long lines. We had an oceanview cabin on deck 3 near the Grand Foyer, which was a very convenient location. Our stateroom attendant was a friendly and exceptionally hard worker that kept the cabin spotless and would go out of his way to open our cabin door when we passed him in the hallway. Some of the bar staff and main dining room waiters were less friendly and not so eager to please the guests. We had to continually ask for food items that were not served as ordered. Occasionally, the food wasn't very warm or was overcooked. Even though I handed our main waiter and sommelier extra tip money one evening, it didn't seem to improve the table service; however, the sommelier was more accommodating in keeping our wine glasses full. A major concern with the main dining room service is that it took so long (2+ hours) to eat that we were always late for the nightly entertainment. Many other people said the same thing causing them to eat at the Oceanview Buffet to save time. On some nights, the food in the buffet was much better than that served in the main dining room. The itinerary included several great ports that were very enjoyable to tour around - Alicante Spain, Seville Spain, Livorno Italy and Ajaccio Corsica. These ports offered many nice shore excursions, some of which I booked independent of the ship. These private tours in 8 passenger vans are far more pleasant than the large bus tours that the ship offers. And, they can be arranged for considerably less cost than the ship. Our highlight tour of the cruise was an all day trip to Cinque Terre that I organized using the Cruise Critic discussion boards to add fellow passengers to our group. This area of Italy consists of 5 quaint villages comparable to the small cities along the Amalfi coast. The other port stops included Gibraltar UK, Sete France and Provence France. We had already visited Gibraltar & Provence on previous cruises, so we spent those days on board. We did get off at Sete to complete a walking tour of the city; however, there wasn't much to see and the sidewalks were littered in trash and animal droppings. Watch your step. This was our 14th cruise on Celebrity ships over the past 6 years. There has been a noticeable decline in the overall cruise experience with Celebrity. The company has found ways to charge for more things on board that were once free; they have reduced the quality & selection of the food in the main dining room; they have removed some of the liquors, beers and wine from the Classic drink package and put them on the premium package; and, they have reduced the variety of entertainment throughout the day. We cruises last year with the Constellation and the public areas are nice refurbished. I hope that the cabins also in a short time will be refurbished. On this ship you can always have a quiet place to relax and also in the public areas there is plenty space. The food was good and the service excellent as usual by Celebrity. The embarkation in Barcelona was very good and we were within 15 minutes on board. We had select dining and the food in the main restaurant was good and also the service was very good. We had balcony cabin cat. 2A number 7161 and it was a nice and clean cabin. No noise at all and not far from the elevators. The shows were not so good as we used to by Celebrity although the Celebrity orchestra was very good. The music in the public areas was also good. The ports are very nice specially Cadiz, Gibraltar and Ajaccio. We cruised already many times with Celebrity and we will certainly cruise with the Constellation again. Read Less

We booked this cruise during last years bogoho sale. We picked it mainly for the ports & that it covered 3 countries in the west Med. The unkonwn ports of Alicante, Spain and Sete, France were a plesant surprise which we thoroughly enjoyed walking around exploring. Not to mention the other ports were great with the exception of Marseille which was a disappointment and VERY dirty. - next time we.ll venture further a field. The crew and standard of Celebrity were of high class however the Constellation ship is a little "tired". We were expecting more of an update afetr the brief refurb earlier this year. It seems only the gift shops and high end stores were updated. Eg. Curtains in the Rendezvous Lounge had some rips in. Carpets worn in public areas. Music was loud from the bands. Wine glasses in the main dining room had water stains on all & you aeemed to be rushed thru your sitting. We had an oceanview stateroom 9001 on forward port side. Easy access to the gym, pool, bars and Ocean View cafe without any noise. Celebrity looks after most of our day tours which were great and you were guaranteed to be back for the ships sail that evening. The other ports we did our own exploring, mainly on foot or took advantage of the hop on hop off buses in town. All in all we had a great time. Met some lovely people from all over the world and hope to be back cruising again soon. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the Itinerary and hopefully the time of year and value...and it did not disappoint in that regard. We had amazing weather. This was our third time on Constellation in three years, so we were doing a lot of comparing. The ship is comfortable but dull. The food has gone downhill. We believe this may be because they are really pushing the specialty restaurants. The buffet has lots of variety, but much of it tastes like cafeteria food. You are best served sticking to the salads and the grilled and carved foods. The afternoon tea time offerings are kind of fun, and if they work out with arrival on the ship after a long day of touring and exhaustion, it is enjoyable to take it back to your cabin or on deck for sail away. The dining dinners were just ok as far as my review goes, but the staff is wonderful. I had two really good dinners early in the cruise, but the options seemed to go downhill. The entertainment was ok, nothing special. We are not gamblers, but the casino seemed to be quiet. This is a hectic itinerary, so maybe people were just tired. What makes this cruise are the staff, who are really great, and the cruisers, who are friendly. If you stay open to opportunities to meet people, you can make a lot of friends...and they might just save your cruise...read on. We had an "interesting" experience our fifth day, and second At Sea day. I woke up really sick with cruise crud...sinus infection, cough, the works. Two new friends we had met on board fixed me up with Emergen-C, Zicam, even prednisone for a few days. Lesson learned...ask your doctor to give you an antibiotic to take with you JUST IN CASE, and bring every possible over the counter drug you can think of. You can get run down from all the touring, lack of sleep, etc. That night, still not feeling great, we went to bed relatively early...11ish, and we were awakened at midnight by screaming in the hallway. Long story short, a hot water pipe burst on deck 2, flooding around six or eight cabins, including ours. The Celebrity staff handled it as best they could...shop vacs, relocating passengers in the middle of the night. It took awhile, but by 2:30 AM we had moved temporarily to a stateroom on deck 9. The next morning we were exhausted and they were still shopvac-ing on deck 2, so we asked to move permanently to our new room. Guest services complied, and although we hated to say goodbye to our amazing stateroom attendant Jay, we moved everything to 9, and gained a balcony for no extra charge. Celebrity basically rebuilt the flooded rooms while we cruised...new carpet, new furnishings, etc. Not sure how everyone else was compensated, but we were pleased. They offered us a night at a Specialty restaurant....no drinks, but free dinner...and we chose Tuscan Grill. It was great, but I was still pretty sick, and didn't last til dessert. Towards the end of the cruise, we received future cruise credit as well, for our inconvenience. The only other thing I would warn cruisers about, especially regarding this itinerary. The big stops...Cadiz, Marseille, Livorno and Civitavecchia...require a decent amount of travel time if you want to go to Seville, Provence, Florence, or Rome. Be forewarned that you will be getting up very early to make tour connections, and doing a lot of driving. Gibraltar was a pleasant surprise for me...don't let the videos of the Barbary Apes scare you. A good tour guide will make sure you have a safe, fun and interactive experience with them. Eat at Ray's Fish and Chips...nothing special, but decent and affordable. One portion is definitely enough for two. Alicante, Sete and Corsica are beautiful but smaller ports, so figure out what you plan to do ahead of time, especially eating in port. In Alicante we did a "free" walking tour that we enjoyed, and then explored on our own, but we weren't sure where to eat. We lucked up with a local tapas place called El Pale, but we just found it by accident. Sete was kind of dead with lots of the shops closed, but again we got lucky in a local restaurant called Le Gout du Jour. Corsica had a farmer's market in the port, and we did the double decker bus tour which was fine...opt for a boat tour if you are more adventurous and don't mind spending the cash. Thanks to Thor for lots of touring ideas and organization, to Debbie D and Terry and Marsha for healing me! Read Less

We choose this cruise at the last minute because we licked the ports. We arrived in Barcelona the same day and used the overpriced ship transfer, the check in was fast and efficient.Disembarkation was also fast. The ship is midsize [2000 passengers and easy to get around] we never encountered any lines. The cabin was a good size for an inside cabin but the bathroom floor was moldy and was taken care after a few days[a problem on all ships that,s easily solved with bleach]and the ruffles were thorn. Dining was very good but the number of selections is going down[same problem as in other lines] but the food quality is above is above RCL,NCL,Carnival and Holland. We didn`t attend any shows as we were tired. We had two days at sea and there was little to do. Service was excellent in the dining room ,cabin and buffet. We liked the ports of call and never used the overpriced shore excursions. We either joined a Cruise Critic Group or toured on our own. Alicante: We took a morning walking tour of Alicante and then went to Guadalest a charming town in the mountains. Cadiz; We toured on our own and took and open bus tour and walked around town, and had a good time. Gibraltar; We took a morning tour to drive across the airport runway to the frontier, and we went to see the monkeys and the caves.Int he afternoon we walked thru the main street. Sete: We took a tour to the village of Carcassone and it was nice. Marseilles; We went on our own to Aix In Provence, walked around and took the little tourist train.A word of caution about this port, the ship docks far from the center, the shuttle to the center was 15euros[round trip per person] and the taxi to the train station is 20euros.The taxi drivers at the pier are pushy and want a whole day tour.In the morning we took a cab all the way to Aix for 60 euros and the driver kept pushing us to do a whole day tour[we were worn out by the sales pitch] and even with the price of the ride being reasonable on the way back we took the train[6 euros for seniors] and a 20 euros taxi ride from the station to the ship.On this port I will take an organized tour from the ship. Livorno; We took the shuttle to center of town [5 euros round trip/each],walked for an hour thru the out door market and took a tour to Lucca a great walled town walked around and then stopped fro 1 hour in Pisa. Ajaccio; The ship docks in the center of town ,we walked around and took the little train fro a 1 hour ride. Civitavecchia; We had a transfer to the airport for 70 euros per couple[with 3 other couples] .The ride took 45 minutes and got to the airport at 9:30 am with a 1:15 pm departure but the check in with Air Canada took 2.5 hours.Air Canada had one line for Business and first class, two lines for people that had boarding passes, one line for the eldery, handicaped and people with small children, for the rest of us [the majority ] there was only one line with a slow attendant. I will cruise again with Celebrity keeping in mind that drinks are very expensive[$10 t $15] and beers[ $8 and up] and to allow extra time fro your Air Canada check in. Read Less

Have not done western med. wanted a cruise company with friendly staff. The staff were exceptional, except one. We chose aqua class, blue restaurant used throughout. The food has changed since using millennium in 2015. The food is not healthy eating now, but overall it was ok but some dishes same as San Marco. The staff in blu were exceptional. Although the ship has had a refurb in places it was difficult to see where. Cellar masters was very dark and gloomy. We are now elite cruisers and the free extras were very good. Ocean cafe staff were excellent. Staff was fairly good. Entertainment was up and down. Juggler was very good. Cruise destinations were good but did not use Livorno as a long way into Florence or Pisa. Excursions from ship were pricey. Used hop on hop off buses, excellent value. Gratuities were ok but did not like steward touting for a tip. Overall a pleasant cruise with exceptional weather. This was the second time that I was on this ship. First time was great (the year before). This time it was terrible. It all started when boarding. I had a couple of bottles of wine in my suitcase which you are allowed and they held on to it in security. I was not informed and had to go get it myself. The food in the café was terrible. People were saving the pea soup was yesterdays guacamole. Food was cold except for the Jello with was warm and runny. Amazing difference a year makes. Entertainment was exactly the same shows from the crew. In the cabin you could here water running through the pipes until 2 a.m.. The plumbing stopped working a couple of times. A pipe burst 2 down from us and flooded much of the area with hot water. I was not kept informed of what was happening and the officers did not answer any questions. All cruise long, we had to deal with wet floors, wiring hanging down, and equipment all over the place. They worked on this problem day and night so sleep never happened. Even an officer got made at me because I was complaining to other passengers but still did nothing. The only thing I heard from the ship is when one of the crew made a joke about it around the pool. Even at one port you had to pay to get off the ship and be transferred to town even though there was a spot at the dock for free transfers to town in which other cruise lines used including Royal Caribbean This was my tenth cruise (fourth with Celebrity) and that is where it ends Read Less

This was X cruise number 9. So we can sort of saying that we like Celebrity. We are a couple in mid 30, so compared to the rest of the demographic onboard. We are on the younger side. But we like it, we go early to bed and like to have one glass of wine together whit good food. We are not party-all-night fans, so what X gives us, fits us perfectly. We flew in to Barcelona a day early. So had time to walk around for some shopping and sightseeing. This cruise, we celebrated 7years wedding day. It was so nice, they had posted a big card on the stateroom door and we had a cake whit candle delivered to dessert on the day. It was so nice. It is just a really nice thing. It is all in the details. We did not expect anything. Since we celebrated 5years wedding day onboard Equinox and we did not receive any form for knowledge of the day. This time we had gone all in compared to earlier. We had a aqua class cabin, well kept. The cabins is very similar to the ordinary cabins. But the shower has more jets and you have access to persian garden and Blu. The food in Blu is very our cup of tea. Lots of salads, fish, seafood and vegetable. It tasted really good and we were taken good care of. If we can, we will do Blu again. you can really taste the difference from the MDR. We had some lunsj in the buffet and aqua spa. Lots to choose from, but on the millennium class, the lay-out of the buffet is long and you must walk all the way around to see whats on. Service in bars and cafe al bacio were good. They help you as fast as they can, overall quality in drinks and presentation is good. Entertainment is very personal. Some like it, some dont. This cruise it was change of the cast in production shows. So it was nice to see some familiar faces from earlier sailings back on the stage. They did 2 shows onboard. We seen them before, so we are a bit tired of it. But the cast did a good job. The guest entertainers on this cruise was very good. We had a really good time on all the shows performed. Live music around the ship was good but not the best. We had better music last cruise... The string due was not the best on the seas. We prefer some of the others we have had before. It was the 3.sailing we have whit cd Rich Clesen. He do a great job and we like him. Hope to see him onboard again in the future. As for activities, it was actually missing some details. We actually feel that is was missing something from day to day. Normally we never feel the need for this, but on this cruise it was to little on the meny. It not a big deal for us, but still. It could have been a little bit more offers/activities. It felt like the activity team was one step behind every day. After the short dry dock in may, Connie has a big screen back on deck 12. They show one movie a day. The selection was not great. It should have been a movie and something else every day. Ports of call in this cruise was some new and some old ports for us. Corsica was one of the highlights. It is very nice, docks in city and the water are crystal clear. Would we book another cruise on X and or Connie? Yes Read Less

I have cruised on Celebrity four times now and I really enjoy the excellence and good value on this cruise line. The ship was well maintained, and a good size without being too big. Service was always excellent and attentive everywhere was often busy and difficult to get a drink in some of the bar areas. The food was very good both in the main dining and the buffet area. I could always find something on the menu I liked and when I did eat our waiter’s recommended courses, they were always excellent. We also ate a total of four times in two specialty restaurants and while they were good, they were not better then the regular dining. Next time I will skip these. One area where the cruise did not stand out for us was entertainment. The majority of the evening shows were singing and dancing which we do not care much for. We would of enjoyed more different acts like magicians or comedians, but that was sparse on this ship. The itinerary was really great on this cruise and we got off the ship everywhere except Ravenna (I was not feeling good there). Our very favorite stop was Valencia, where I hope to visit again. This was really an outstanding cruise in pretty much every way and I would highly recommend it. Read Less

This Cruise was booked in September 2016 by my sister while she was on a Celebrity Cruise in the Balkans. The deal we got was tremendous, but we have sailed on Celebrity because we feel they are a step above others and the food has been tremendous. This cruise however left us disappointed in many ways. I will say the itinerary was excellent! The ship is 15 years old and has had some minor renovations but it's still 15 years old. We noticed quite a bit of rust and worn materials in various public areas of the ship. We were in Aqua Class on Deck 9, starboard. Which means every morning we were treated to crew moving furniture around the pool on Deck 10, bright and early! We did have an excellent cabin steward. Aqua Class dined in Blu which to me was quite a disappointment. There was nothing memorable or spectacular about the food or the menu choices. The service was great, but the food was nothing to write home about! This was our fourth Celebrity cruise. My sister and brother-in-law, and the other couple we were with have perhaps cruised 8 or 10 times on Celebrity. All agreed the food has gone downhill. I have always enjoyed the Mast Grill on every Celebrity ship. The burgers this year were disgusting, sorry but no other way to describe it. Not sure if it was the quality of the beef they were receiving in Europe or what, but they were horrible! Poolside bar service was also disappointing. They ran out of limes with three days to go, and ran out of Tito's Vodka with two days to go. How does that happen when you're actively marketing drink packages almost non-stop for the first several days of a cruise? We've also noticed a drop off in entertainment aboard. Maybe we were spoiled on our first two cruises with excellent bands but I'd prefer more music and fewer games while poolside, particularly on sea days. Theater productions each evening were pretty good, but the "big production" Elyria was "different"! We are currently booked for Alaska aboard the Millennium in May, fingers crossed that things will be better, but will be watching CC to monitor reviews, comments etc. While planning the cruise we were uncertain about what to do in Ibiza and Valencia. After boarding and discussing it with our fellow cruisers my wife and I decided we would book with the ship for those two ports. We had brought the Shore Excursion booklet with us. Was disappointed to find the prices to book on board were significantly higher than booking in advance. This may be customary but I wasn't aware of it. We are in our mid 50's, and our fellow cruisers in late 60's. I would say most of the guests were in the same range. Overall we had a great time, but as I mentioned above, I'm hopeful that others who expressed similar comments while onboard, will review here or let Celebrity know of their concerns. Read Less

Choose this cruise for the itinerary....wanted to spend some days prior to cruise in Venice and we were really looking forward to Dubrovnik and Kotor. Positives first - ship is in good shape considering her age, food in Oceanview and Marco Polo were above average, actually a lot better than the food we had on a previous Celebrity cruise last November through the Panama Canal. Any staff we encountered went above and beyond service expectations even though there are noticeable staff cutbacks. Entertainment overall was great. The ships entertainment crew and band were excellent. One of the better groups we have encountered on Celebrity cruises. Singers and dancers went above and beyond considering it was their last week on this ship/contract. Not so goods....Disappointing that Celebrity keeps changing their drink packages, i.e. last November on our Panama Cruise we could have Bailies but not this cruise as you had to have the Premium Package....most of the time I went to the bar to get our drinks as drink waiters were hard to find in the lounges and pool area. In the main dining room we were hardly asked if we wanted a 2nd glass of wine with our meal. First Evening Chic night was a disaster...front area was crazy, not sure what happened as I have never encountered this on any other Celebrity Cruises. When we finally got a table we waited more than 20 minutes to even get a menu, not sure what happened, maybe new staff or too many diners at the same time. 2nd Evening Chic night was 100% better. Café Bacio was excellent as usual and we enjoyed many afternoons there. We are loyal Celebrity cruisers but if they keep making these cutbacks we may have to start comparing other cruise lines. Venice, - We were their prior to cruise and walked around on our own. Ravenna - ship excursion RV23 Ravenna City Sights, we still had to pay for entrance to monuments/churches and didn't have enough time to see all that we paid for in the 5 monument pass. Very disappointing Dubrovnik - first day ship excursion DU06 Dalmatian Coastline and Wine Tasting, I have to say this is the best excursion/tour I have ever been on, well worth the money. Dubrovnik - ship excursion 2nd day walked around on our own, picked up some wonderful locally made jewellery Kotor - ship excursion KV17 Montenegro Highlights, this tour took us up through 25 hairpin turns by bus and into the country side, very good tour. Catania - ship excursion to Taormina CQ22 - Lovely Taormina, this was very good just wished for more free time there. Mallorca - ship excursion PJA5 Flamenco Show at Son Amar, EXCELLENT SHOW, only our bus was there, it was like a private show with tapas and sangreia. The dancers, singer, guitar player were AMAZING. Got to see a lot of the country side on our way there and back. Ibiza - Walked around on our own to the old city and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A lot of history to take in. Valencia - ship excursion VN25 - Panoramic Valencia tour, o.k. but needed more free time to walk around. Read Less

We have been sailing with Celebrity for a number of years, and was pretty disappointed in this cruise! I know the ship was in dry dock this past Spring for upgrades, but the ship certainly did not reflect any! We were Aqua Class, however, it certainly was not worth the added cost! We (3 couples) found Blu to be quite disappointing this time around! Some evenings we went to Blu, but ordered from the main dining room menu! The staff in Blu was great, but the food left a little to be desired. One evening we dined at Tuscan, and were not impressed at all! Last year, while on the Silouhette, we dined at Tuscan twice, and the food was exceptional! Well worth the added charge. While our Cabin steward was wonderful, the cabin itself was rather sorry looking (I meant to take pictures)! The drapes were hanging off the slider because drapery hooks were missing! The bed skirt was torn in several spots, and the railings on the balcony were peeling and rusty! The noise over our cabin was ridiculous!!! Nearly every evening (between midnight and 1:00AM) it sounded as if furniture was being dragged around! Perhaps decks were being washed! We only did one of the ships excursions, as we personally find you get more bang for the buck! I have been a big fan of Celebrity for years! This cruise left me with second thoughts for the next! Enjoyable experience from start to finish! The itinerary was the biggest factor in selecting this ship. Great ports of call. Entertainment was excellent! Onboard activities were fun and engaging. Port & shore excursions were great! The ship was smaller than Solstice class ships we had taken before but we adjusted to the layout of the Ocean Cafe and dining room seating. We prefer separate food stations. All cruise staff were attentive and very friendly. Ship is a bit old and in need of an update. Cabin needs more storage and bathroom shows signs of age. The deck furniture was old and showed signs of wear and tear. Furnishings are dated and too dark. The lounges were dim and quite small. Overall, we had a great time and have beautiful memories. We took many pictures at the various ports and on the excursions. Our next Med. cruise is planned on the Eclipse. Read Less

An ok cruise definitely not my favourite have sailed with celebrity before and I think they have got very greedy charging extra for everything such as shuttles from ports like Sicily which are a dump so they know everyone will pay to go on trips or to the town. I was upset by a member of the dining staff who on two consecutive mornings said loudly I was eating too much butter I was completely humiliated and on the second morning went to reception in tears. The entertainment was good and enjoyed Valencia. Food at lunch not very hot but at night in dining room very nice . I will not be travelling with celebrity again much prefer Princess better value for money. The port at Catania was terrible have no idea why they would stop here . Also bar service was not good at all didn't seem many staff at all. Read Less

We picked this cruise as an experience for friends who had never cruised before. Long enough to get the idea, but not too long! The ship is lovely, older than some of the new glitzy models but more to our taste. We had an oceanview, fine and a very reasonable price. Deck two, quiet and fine for the short time we were there. The cabin steward was ok, not great but kept the cabin clean. We had the classic drink package included, which we made good use of! The staff were great, not once did we have anything less than great service. Numbers of staff could be greater but we just went to the bar ourself rather than waiting. Several staff shone above the others and we made sue we put a comment card in and tipped extra. The ports were good, Venice, Dubrovnik and Kotor being the highlights. One of the best cruises we have taken! Read Less

Good itinerary, wanted to repeat some of the ports because they were so interesting when we did almost the same cruise in 2012. Had Aqua cabin 9056, never again!! The rolling of the carts and the loud noises, and what I can only describe as the dish machine whirring at 5 am every day made this not an enjoyable experience. We have been on Celebrity many times, have Elite status, and have never had such an experience. We feel Celebrity has cheapened the amenities and food quite a bit since our cruise on them last year. No cold cuts on the buffet at lunch, lesser quality wines, no shower cap and shampoo that made both of us itch, for example. The staff is accommodating when you make a request, but we never had these problems before. Also, the stores had almost nothing interesting or worth buying. It was the same 'bargain' stuff every night. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the destination. We boarded the ship in Venice and overall check-in was very good. Our outside cabin was located on deck 2, right above the exit....You can imagine the noise we had to put up with. There were only 2 sea days, which means that we heard the noise 9 mornings out of 11. Even if we wanted to sleep in on some mornings, we could'nt. We were at the second seating in the main dining room. Food was OK but not great. We are used to great food on Celebrity. I had to return some plates because they were too salty which has never happened on Celebrity. Overall the ship still looks ok but needs a bit of a face lift. The cabins are "tired". In need of new furniture and bedding. However service was great all over the ship. No complaints there! Read Less
