Chose cruise because of itinerary and previous pleasant experience with Celebrity. On a positive note - nice cabin, excellent steward and friendly, helpful crew with the exception of shore excursion staff. However from the moment of boarding, incessant pressure to upgrade. Pestered to take out drinks package. If you have drinks package, pressure to upgrade to premium package. Constant pressure to upgrade dining package. Smoothie for breakfast? - $10 please! Mundane activities in daily programme - cycling in gym **Fee applies. Yoga class**Fee applies etc.etc Outrageous prices of drinks, internet and shore excursions. Shore excursion staff snotty and so far up their own backsides. Unhelpful to the point of being obstructive if not taking their tour. Little or no provision for independent travellers wanting to do their own thing ashore - scant interest/help/direction/maps on ports of call. Several so called city dockings in Vietnam and Thailand actually up to 3 hours travel from city with docking at an obscure cargo terminal with minimal onshore facilities - presumably Celebrity saving on docking fees and increasing pressure to use their shore excursions. Food choice repetitive. Meat and fish invariably overcooked and dry. Culinary highlights poached eggs, water melon and ice cream! Overall ship's appearance OK but a little tatty in some areas with tired/worn upholstery Comfortable recliners on sun decks. My second, and last, cruise with Celebrity Read Less

Such an interesting and varied cruise. From sophisticated AbuDhabi and Dubai to the chaotic streets of Mumbai then on to lush Kerala, and our favourite - Sri Lanka. Then the final enjoyment of a few nights in Singapore. The ship was maybe a little tired in places but we were looked after so we’ll and as suite class guests had a few extra perks - we thought the cruise was fantastic. Embarkation and debarkation were calm and efficient. Our stateroom was the only issue and one that was not completely resolved. 9096 it appears is directly below the doorway from the lift area out to the pool deck. Trolleys pass overhead all night long! We were woken several times every night. Staff made efforts to divert the trolleys but I ended up sleeping on the sofa bed. We have received satisfactory compensation which helps a little. Needless to say I enjoyed a long nights sleep once in Singapore! Staff in Luminae and Michaels club were super. Entertainment team were amazing. Stateroom team brilliant. Thanks to everyone - will cruise again soon but will NEVER book onto deck below public areas! Read Less

In addition to being a special birthday the Itinerary was the prime reason we booked this cruise as we always wanted to visit Singapore & Vietnam. The move away from Formal nights to Chic just did not work and there was very little glitz or glamour on these evenings. It is the main reason that we will not be using Celebrity Cruises in the future as we feel that the opportunity to dress up and having a more glamorous ambience than the everyday is one of our main reasons for going cruising. We used the photographers on one of the Chic nights but were very dissapointed that the $30 charge did not include a cardboard holder and the photo was not even trimmed. It was in fact handed to us in a plastic carrier bag which is the worst service we have received on any cruise. Whilst the service in the main dining room was excellent we tended to find the food fairly bland and there was very little choice of regional dishes. The lunchtime buffet restaurant was however excellent and offered a very wide range of dishes. We found the seating arrangement and bar staff in the theatre to be excellent and it was probably the most pleasant theatre we have experienced. Overall the ship was very nice and the staff were generally very friendly and helpful. The shore excursions were well organised & although expensive generally provided what was advertised The embarkation and disembarkation systems were the best we have ever experienced and our thanks and congratulations to all the staff involved. Originally purchased two years ago on what we thought was a good deal at the time, the 123GO! promotion. First of all let me start by saying that at the end of the cruise someone somewhere has lost Julie's luggage. This did not even make it to the cruise port on Sunday morning for us to pick it up. This caused us much consternation as we had to rush off through Immigration to catch the Taxi to the Airport, so this may not be the fairest of reviews you could find. Julie's loss not only will cost us over £1000 but also her five year diary was inside and the memories may be lost forever. So if you know of someone that may have picked up the wrong case by mistake, please let us know, it was a red Samsonite shell case, medium in size. Vietnam was not what we expected and in a good way, great trips organised by one of our fellow passengers, the trip was provided by My Way and very good too. Hong Kong was a bit of a washout weather wise, but that is no ones fault. However we only go three hours to explore as we had booked one of the ships tours and was not off the ship until 09:45, despite docking at 07:00, then had to be back before 14:30. Giving us three hours to walk around, simply not enough to travel half the way around the world for. Manilla was good; again a ship's tour, which was good. Nice to see historic places and well timed. We loved Boracay, fantastic place to walk around, don't bother with the ship's tours as you can get about very easily yourselves. Kota Kinabalu was stunning as we took the ship's tour to an island for snorkeling, however friends of ours caught a boot local to the dock and had much longer for less money, you takes your choice! We enjoyed the food at the MDR, not a match for previous cruises but good enough not to complain. We also paid for the Dining experience and so visited the Ocean Liners and Tuscan Grill speciality restaurants. Both were very good but the service and food in Ocean Liners was fantastic. Connie is due to visit dry dock soon to be refitted and not before time, the ship was tired and in desperate need of a makeover is several places. Come on Celebrity you can do better than this. Overall a good cruise and just about worth the money paid, however we did not book for another cruise as the Future Cruise options/deals offered were similar to deals we can find ashore, not counting the future discount that always appear. So a sad goodbye from us we shall try elsewhere, hi Holland America good to see you again! Ian. Read Less
