we chose the cruise for the itenary and it was a area we wanted to go to but unfortunately we did not enjoy the "MDR" as the menu did not change we spent most of our time in the buffet where there was plenty choice also the entertainment was very poor indeed the main dance/singers only done 4 shows in the 15 day cruise not what we expected at all the house bands well to be honest a pub band would of been better the cruise director (Paul) he does not have a clue how to entertain most of the entertainment he done was game show style or putting round a restaurant and that's meant to be 5 star as for the ship itself we could not fault it very clean indeed the ship staff very friendly but it lacked atmosphere on the pool decks mainly at night the bars were all empty no music or dancing going on and we were not the only passengers to notice this some are celebrity regulars would we go with celebrity again I doubt it unless the rely look at all the areas that need to be looked at Read Less

just got back from 15 night best of india and sri lanka 10/o4 /18 in aqua class cabin 9061 .cabin ok but a little tired staff work hard to keep a good standard but sheets towels and carpets all need to be replaced I also had a chat with two ladies that were on deck 6 that were complaining of bed bugs in their cabin.the food in blu was very good and the staff were wonderful which is more than can be said for the oceanview café .I,m a early starter so I,m one of the first in for breakfast and everything was always cold except for the toast which was just warmed up bread if you asked for it to be done a bit more you got a look as if you were mad .at lunch if you wanted anything other than Asian dishes the choice was very poor. on one day there was fish and chips which looked very nice but the fish was so hard that you could not cut into it and the chips well its the first time I,ve had chips that were brunt on the outside and still frozen on the inside. the shore excursions got off to a bad start with the one I was looking forward to most cancelled before I left with hindsight I wish they had all been cancelled as they were all poor value except for the walking tour in sri lanka which was very good ,the sightseeing and shopping in Phuket was disgraeceful late starting no stops for food or drinks at the last stop at a shopping mall at 6pm we were told it would be 1 1/2 hr stop most people wanted to return to the ship but were told if you did you would have to make your own way back to the ship a 10 minute walk which turned out to be a 25 minute taxi ride I complained when back on the ship and was told it was the first time this trip had been run I hope it was the last Read Less

We did a back to back, the first is the 14 night Vietnam and after the 15 night India. The first cruise was not so good and definitely not the Celebrity standard. It was not well maintained, very dirty when we got onboard the first day. It did improve over the course of the cruise. The furniture for the sunset deck was sticky and just felt dirty all the time. The rest was adequate though, the dining room was ok, not grand though. We never had a problem getting a table for 2. The room, oceanview, was fine, comfy bed. The food was quite a disappointment. Even for the specialty restaurants which were actually quite expensive, was very amateur. The steakhouse was awful. I ordered tomato mozzarella entree and it was super cold, the huge tomato was all mushy simply because it had been frozen. I asked for the maitre-d and he didn't know that it needs to be served fresh... Tried the fancier Q-Sine, all show no content. Looks good, you see that they try at least to make something special but all the dishes didn't pass the bar. Very disappointing. The only decent restaurant was the sushi place. Other minor disappointments, the outside movie, had only a very late showing, nothing at 8pm. No game room, nothing. Best part was the personel as usual on these ships. Read Less

2nd part of India Golden Triangle trip + cruise- a 12 day cruise that was less than average for the money paid We had an inclusive drinks package which was evidently embarrassingly very important to the band of heavy drinkers that were on board for this cruise!! We observed that there was a problem getting a sun bed and nothing done by crew to make this a fair process so just glad we weren’t sun worshipers! Cabin was in a poor state - furniture tired and faded - no money has been spent in this area for years - cabin steward lovely and very helpful. Public areas had evidently been refreshed fairly recently. Most activities onboard were chargeable and WiFi exeptionally expensive Food varied from good to average but staff in restaurant very pleasant and hard working. Used Celebrity several years ago to Alaska and were disappointed then so after this cruise will never use them again as their ships are past their sell by date Read Less

we selected the best of shri lanka and asia as we had never been to any of the ports of call. from that perspective really good but the ship was not up to usual celebrity standards. very tired and in need of refit which is scheduled for early May. the cruise line did not make us aware and the cruise was at full price with no discounts for condition. the food was only average and the entertainment well below what we have enjoyed on previous Celebrity cruises. the tours were all expensive and not well described - too many visits to jewel stores but with no time to look around even if you wanted to buy (45 mins). these were key stops even though we expected to visit temples, mosques and more interesting places. would not recommend to any one else and suggest careful check with cruise line before committing to a vacation Read Less

We choose this cruise to see India. The ship is very tied and rusting , worn carpet , wooden seats in the dinning room with joints coming apart. The crew do try very hard and give u 110% in effort. The entertainment director is getting away with being payed for sitting on his backside all day. the onboard day time entertainment was non exsistant compared to other cruise lines. There was more entertainment to be found in the casino than over the whole of the boat. The nightly shows in the theatre where great if u where in a nursing home and had not seen any entertainment for a while, really who do they think they are giving us a acrobat show which a 11 year old could perform. Every night at dinner it was a toss of a coin to see if ur drink order would arrive in 30 minutes or under or would arrive at all. The cabin steward did a fantastic job and congratulations to him cabin 9131. The food was the same day in and day out, the quality of food okay but not outstanding. When u travel aqua class and have your own designated dinning room u don't expect to have to wait up to 3/4 hour for a table. The cruise would have been excellent if I had traveled in a inside room, but having table for aquas class I was very disappointed and will never cruise with celebrity again. No one even wants to listen on board when u are offering constructive criticism. Felt very let down and ripped off. Read Less

I am a very, very experienced cruise traveler. I enjoyed this cruise, had a good time. There are some big BUT's though which unnerved me. Here my opinions, which will most likely resonate more with fellow Europeans: + Ship beautiful, (if you like modern ship design, which I do), looking new. It did not look full, although it must have been at 90% of capacity. Except the pool deckchairs of course. Staff very good, dining staff exceptional (incl. remembering preferences and satisfying special wishes). Entertainment program very good (important on a cruise with many sea days). Guest lecturers were knowledgable and interesting. I like that they include also off-mainstream subjects, like cave exploration. Dining was good and variable at the dining rooms, no variety at the casual buffet any time of the day, and day after day the same items. Nothing to eat after 10pm. MINUS Cabins small relative to other cruise lines, but nothing was missing. I knew that from earlier cruises and was traveling solo anyway, so I had enough space. Nice touch: Night light in the bathroom. Only small tubes for generic shampoo, conditioner, body lotion. Constant music, too loud, everywhere. Including the main pool area, which is probably desired by the guests during a Carnival Caribbean cruise but not on this cruise with more mature passengers. Not one quiet place where you could read a book without having to order a drink or without loud music or with some sales event going on there (gym courses, wine tasting and selling, art selling, adult coloring class, bingo etc. etc). Library is a minimal room with 4 seats (on a 2000+ passengers' ship) burried in the interior, with probably less than 200 books. One thing I really disliked: There is an extensive and detailed "code of conduct" for passengers which lays out a regime I did not sign up for when I booked this cruise and foresees severe consequences at the sole discretion of the ship's management. I think common sense, courtesy and if necessary the applicable laws are more than enough. And body cams on security staff at all times, in addition to the omnipresent fixed video cameras, obvious and hidden. A person I had met (a young lady in her first trip ever outside her home country) was forcibly disembarked in Muscat, Oman for climbing over a reeling. Another major objection is the prices of side services, which Celebrity describes as "reasonable" in their website but they don't publish detailed pricelists anywhere. Here below I will compare prices with Holland America because I was on a HAL ship just one week before this cruise: -Many items included in the price with other cruise lines are charged here, and handsomely: Certain drinks at breakfast-juices, more than half of items listed in the room service menu and even for the free items a delivery charge of $4.50! -Pay per view movies in the cabin at $13.50 each, compare with the extensive free library of HAL on dvds AND one new movie daily at the movie theater (versus one big screen movie in 16 days on Celebrity). -Prices for drinks and beverages are outrageous: Why is a cappucino priced $7 incl. 18% gratuity and Holland America charges $4 incl. 15% gratuity? Is it so much better? Similar with wines and cocktails. Small plastic bottle of water $3.50+18% gratuity? A scoop of ice cream $4+18%? It is forbidden to bring even a glass of wine on board, for no other reason than to consume their own overpriced items. -Prices for laundry are outrageous too (no self laundry possibility on Celebrity): A bag of laundry at $49 on "one time special offer"? A 2 piece suite for $19? A pair of socks $3? Double the price of HAL? They clean double as good? -Internet package for 16 days $299? Or $23.50 for 1 hour? Prices for one device only! Again almost double the price of HAL for the same satellite service. -"Optional" but automatic gratuity $13.50 per person per day? (HAL $10.50 for no worse service). No adjustment of the amount is possible, either nothing or the full amount. -Shore excursions similar, but in this Celebrity is no worse than other cruise lines and critically the consumer has alternative options with local tour operators. -Specialty dining for a charge and spa services: I didn't try, cannot compare. - Shops on board: I compared prices for items I had earmarked earlier for purchase such as alcohol and certain perfumes with other duty free outlets (airports and airlines). Don't bother, Celebrity's "duty free" price is 20-30% more expensive at every single one. Seems to me they reduce the state tax and add the difference directly into their sales margin. -Shoe shine service as on HAL? Let alone complimentary? Not here! So this cruise was only a good value if you restricted yourself to the absolute minimum of consumption, did not drink wine, cocktails, coffee, did not watch movies, did not use laundry or internet and checked if your conduct fits Celebrity's regulations at all times. But if you consumed all of the above, you could easily spend on board 3-4 times more than the price for the cruise. Hmmm... Quite the cheap trick of "get them on board first and sell them every little thing or service expensive"... not my idea of relaxed vacation or fair pricing policy folks and counterproductive. This cruise originally booked to embark at Istanbul but was changed following troubles there. We were disappointed as we wanted to see Istanbul. However our other port was Jerusalem so we accepted the change. Thereafter, communication with Celebrity was difficult. We could only access the web site to give personal details - we could not access details of trips and neither were we sent any information on trips. We were forced to seek independent trip companies which turned out to be excellent - small group sizes, superb guide and driver and significantly cheaper then booking through Celebrity. Days before travelling our Travel Agent eventually were able to get us paper luggage labels by contacting booking department. A big mistake we made was booking the cruise before flight details were known. Our flights to Athens were via Frankfurt (one and a half hours wait) with a similar journey on return from Rome. Reading the Brochure it stated that on cruises of 12 nights there would be 3 formal nights. We packed formal evening wear - on embarkation we were informed that there would be 2 nights of "CHIC CASUAL" and the rest smart casual. hardly anyone wore evening dress. Standards are dropping, one gent's idea of chic casual was trainers, shorts and t shirt and he was allowed in to restaurant. Standards are dropping. The cruise itself was good. Read Less

We had sailed on Connies inaugural cruise and had the most fabulous time. There was no fault with the food, accommodations, shore excursions, nightlife....the decor was a breath of fresh air in comparison to the other lines. So, with such great memories we had no hesitations and booked a family cruise. Embarkation disorganized, port staff very unhelpful and rude. Despite my pleas that I was travelling with my elderly disabled mother, we were forced to line up with the rest of the passengers even though I am a "elite" traveller. No help upon arrival, much different from the inaugural cruise where a cruise member escorted us to our cabins, we were left to our own devices to locate our cabin! The quality of food has gone down hill when even compared to our previous cruise of 2013. The variety quality left much to be desired. Celebrity was known for the quality of their food, sadly this is no longer true. The cabin was dated, bathroom in need of an update, even though the brochure said that it was "refurbished " mold, peeling paint, balcony door locks sticking, poorly flushing toilets.... To add insult, there was garbage left in our cabin that the room attendants failed to notice and remove. I would question how actually "clean" is my cabin. I wiped down all surfaces with my Lysol wipes! If possible, book your own shore excursions. The one offered by celebrity is $$$$$$and not worth the $. I don't mind paying extra if the quality was there. The guide in Barcelona sat at the front of the bus and read out loud the script on his phone. I was seated at the front with my mother and witnessed it! He would stop at a sight, told us to come back to the bus after we "make pictures!" To make matters worse, on the return trip, he was walking so fast, he left my entire family stranded at the Sagrada familia!? The ship's staff said they would investigate and all she said was that we all returned safely to the ship! Oh, and they refunded us our cab fare only". This is surely not the "beyond our expectations?!". The entertainment catered to the UK crowded and far below previous experiences. It might have well been the crew members who put on the show! Amateurs! The dining room was crowded, and the noise level was deafening. It was difficult to carry on any dinner conversation! The table next to us was so loud, we asked for a table change, they were unable to accommodate because the dining room was full, yet they were able to accommodate the dining your way passengers. It would have to be a very good deal for this loyal cruiser to sail with celebrity anytime soon. Read Less

Sold as a premium cruise Celebrity Constellation fails miserably. Carnival, Princess, Norwegian and P&O leave them for dead. You are nickel and dimed every inch of the way with overpriced shore excursions and transfers e.g. They charged Euro 22 for a Venice city transfer by boat and the Vaporetto made the identical trip for Euro 15. The"helpful" staff did not mention the availability of the Vaporetto. Drinks are expensive and get truly ridiculous when an automatic 18% gratuity is applied. Meals are unexciting. The wait staff in the restaurants are excellent but with few exceptions drink waiters are surly. The evening shows are of good quality but there is minimal incidental entertainment before and after the shows, unless you like a DJ or the same band singing the same songs every night. If I ever hear green green grass of home again!!!!!!! The ship is tired and overpriced. We will certainly not sail with them again. Read Less

We were disappointed with the ship. I'm surprised that it has a 5 star rating because it's an old ship and looks old. It's been refurbished, but mostly what they did was add the aqua level which costs a lot more unless one is a high level frequent cruiser on Celebrity. I think the rest of the ship would get a much lower rating. The food in the main dining room wasn't good. The buffet food did taste good, but it was so crowded that it was stressful. We had beverage packages. I envisioned relaxing by the pool or on the upper deck and having waiters bring me drinks. There were only a few waiters walking around taking drink orders. Since the inside bars were closed during the day even when at sea, the bartenders on the decks were rushed and there was always a crowd waiting to place an order. That was stressful. The pool and deck chairs were crowded together to the point that they were all touching. There was no space between the chairs to set a drink or beach bag. It was difficult getting in and out of the deck chairs. The worst part was that strangers were squeezed together up close and personal in swim suits. That was not relaxing but stressful. We have no complaints about the cabin. The stewards were great. I missed not having ice in our room. That's a service they stopped unless someone requested it. We never got around to requesting it. The room was clean and neat and the stewards were friendly. I liked the drink packages. We could have all the drinks we wanted but just not in a relaxing or fun atmosphere. We can also stay home and get all the drinks we want. Read Less

1. not friendly welcome - other cruises a big party, this... you're here, and so what 2. Food served only by staff. a. First day virtually all servers not friendly improved over cruise, but not all happy to be serving. b. Really slowed meal times large lines by stations at busy times c. Servers hard to find at some stations non-busy times d. Tables had signs "This table has been sanitized" and, had in fact, been wiped down with a disinfectant. The problem was that, in many cases, they were moving mud around the table. The table was sanitized, but not clean. 3. Are they watching food temperature? I had Shellfish Bisque that was barely warm. Could lead to food poisoning. It made me wonder how carefully they were testing food temp on the line. I was about to comment that I'm sure they are watching temperature in the kitchen, but is an assumption on my part. 4. The overall attitude of the crew is, in my opinion, a direct result of managements attitude. 5. Ship has maintenance issues, lights not working, rust, equipment in some facilities, the carpets in the buffet are filthy in some areas. 6. Our cabin was the largest veranda cabin I've ever had and was very well appointed. 7. Our cabin team was excellent - I can't recommend them more.Very friendly and accommodating and kept the room in tip-top shape. 8. My friend took a wine tour based on ONE of the wineries that was listed on the tour. The Winery has a world class reputation and hasn't done public tours in years. The tour stopped outside the gate of the winery and they could shoot photos of the winery through the fence. The tour cost $300 and was a rip off. It appears that the cruise line deliberately misled people in their description of the tour. The other participants were quite angry with this apparent deception. 9. One thing I found curious as I'm writing this at 3 in the morning. One of the staff is sweeping the carpet in the buffet area with a broom and dustpan. Wouldn't a vacuum cleaner be more effective at actually getting dirt out of the carpet? 10. The port in Bilbao had free WIFI, but one couldn't get logged on. The staff at the port commented that the cruise ship was blocking the signal. Apparently, an attempt by Celebrity to keep the everyone paying the cruise ships outrageous rates for Internet time. 11. The Ocean Liner restaurant - an extra fee restaurant - was world class. The service and food were wonderful. Had dinner there twice and would recommend it to anyone. 12. The service and the food in the main dining room was very good. 13. My friend was attempting to get a cup of coffee. After picking up 3 cups from the "clean" tray and finding them dirty she mentioned it to a ships officer that happened to be close by about the situation. His comment was "just use a paper cup!" in an exasperated tone of voice. 14. This cruise was a "wine immersion" cruise. We didn't hear of any wine seminars of any kind until 2 days before the end of the cruise from a fellow passenger. There was a list of seminars that we were told they couldn't put on tables because of the sanitary problems the ship was undergoing. 15. After we saw the list of seminars we discovered that they were all rather expensive... Riedel Glass seminar $87 - promoting Riedel glasses. A wine and food seminar at $95. The least expensive one was a wine and cheese tasting for $35. Read Less

My husband and I are adventurous early retirees. We flew from the Pacific Northwest very much looking forward to our first taste of the Caribbean. We arrived early and enjoyed a week touring the Everglades and the Florida Keys. Boarding was delayed due to Norovirus on the preceding cruise. It went quickly once they began. There was no welcome drink as is usual. Perhaps this was due to the extra cleaning which was intense. Nor did anyone offer to show us to our cabin, and I worried that our last suitcase was lost as it did not appear until nearly 9:PM. The staff were their usual efficient selves though overworked due to all the extra cleaning. We noticed twice during the cruise that cabins were being fumigated by crew in hazmat suits & masks. Passengers were not notified of the spraying or what was used. I had concerns as I have asthma, but I was not told anything. In the dining areas there was no self serve, no salt or pepper on the tables, few trays. It was sometimes difficult to get coffee, or much of anything as there was often a shortage of cups, glasses, or cutlery. It was sparse. Menu items were repeated many times with few exceptions. We seldom go to dinner in the main dining room as we hate to waste 2 1/2 hours of our day for one meal. There seems to be no way to not tip for services you don't use though. We did enjoy the Tuscan Grille very much. There was one upsetting problem about that, we had made our reservations before the cruise as we were told that was better and we got a reduced rate that way. I then found they had even better Specials during the cruise. We may have gotten a 10% Special, but people who popped in on almost any day during the cruise were getting 20% off. Ship shore excursions were boring, overpriced, and badly run. For example - the young couple with an infant & stroller who were told that the Blackbeard's Castle tour where you had to walk down 99 steps was appropriate for them. They also just left you there and you had to walk over a mile back to the ship. We took a couple of private excursions and were delighted with the difference. The entertainment was passable if not exciting. The Library has been reduced to half size with Very Few books. The Internet was down for almost half of the cruise - no refunds. The worst thing was that my husband contracted Norovirus. He is Mr. Clean and had not passed a single sanitizer station without using it. He carries his own bottle of sanitizer. Still he became ill the morning of the eighth day. He reported to Sick Bay which was closed from 9:30 AM to 5:PM. No luck there. He then went to Customer Relations in the Main Lobby area and told them he was ill as required. They told him to go back to his cabin and they would have a Nurse contact him. She never did. That evening when Sick Bay opened he drug himself down there and threw up on their floor. The gave him medication and Quarantined him in the cabin. Customer Relations called a couple of times to see if we needed anything. They said they would cancel our Shore Excursions for us - which they did Not. The Shore Excursions were still on our bill when we checked it before disembarkation. The Shore Excursion desk said they could not cancel them as we had not returned the tickets. That's hard to do while you are quarantined besides they told us they did it when they quarantined us. In all we missed three of the eight featured ports (Barbados, St. Lucia, & Antigua). Celebrity said they would compensate us for the portion of the cruise we missed due to being Quarantined in our cabin. I understand that according to their estimate that was from 6:PM on the eighth day (more than 8 hours after he became ill since Medical was closed) until 10:PM the next night. This was supposed to happen within four weeks. It has now been seven weeks since the cruise and despite my inquiry (to which they say they will respond within 24-48 hours) Nothing! It seems our next two vacations are planned. Neither of them includes a cruise. That is really too bad as I have always enjoyed them very much until this last trip. Would I do it again - without the Norovirus and the unfilled promises - yes. I would love to see the ports we missed and take more private tours. Read Less

We departed May 22nd from Amsterdam on the Celebrity Constellation with 8 in our group. Our cruise was the Baltic states including St. Petersburg, RU. When we first entered our cabin we noticed the Walmart cheap plastic stained chairs on the balcony. The balcony itself was filthy and included dried paint drippings all around. The railing was in bad need of a refinish job. The varnish on the railing was peeling off. Rust was everywhere. The mattress was sagging and in need of replacement. In the dining room, our party sadly found that the kitchen did not know how to cook beef. It was overcooked and tough! Our first stop was Rostock, Germany. Celebrity told us we were at Wernemunde, Germany. We weren't! We were in Rostock. No problems for Stockholm or Helsinki. We arrived early at St. Petersburg, RU. We were excited about this stop as we hired Tailored Tours of St, Petersburg for our 2 days of touring. Our guide and General Director of this company did not disappoint us. His name is Timofey. He was patient and answered every question we had. Web address http://www.tour-petersburg.com/ Because of his knowledge of the history of St. Petersburg and of all the paintings we saw, these two days became the highlight of our cruise and so much better than a ship purchased excursion. We talked of it for days after leaving. No problems for Tallin. At Copenhagen, Celebrity said there would be maps outside. There were no maps to be had anywhere. When we returned in the afternoon there were hundreds of maps. On disembarkation, Celebrity told early departure guests to be in the Celebrity theatre on deck 4. The only people there were the passengers. The theatre was closed and locked. After searching around, we found the disembarkation point on deck 3 by Guest Relations. This ship is a tired old ship and needs to be retired. Doubt if we'll ever book Celebrity again! Ron Kudla777 Read Less
