Just returned from the New Year's cruise and while the overall experience was fine, the dining room situation was terrible. We have cruised Celebrity many times starting with the Meridian and sailed on many lines with well over 100 cruises under our belt. Celebrity started off by distinguishing itself from the others by the food. Menus were several courses and service was elegant and efficient. ...
I have many reviews on this ship before taking the cruise but there is nothing like taking it yourself for a real view. I have taken the Allure of the Seas and it is a totally different experience. the Allure is like a shopping mall and fun park. The Constellation is more older couples that just want to hang out in the little lounges and have a quite evening. Getting the baggage to the room was a ...
First a little background. My husband and I sailed on the Constellation March of 2014; we had a fantastic time. The service, food and entertainment was top notch. We were amazed at the quality of food in the Oceanview Café and the personality and care paid to us in the main dining room. As a result, I was expecting a similar experience for my recent girls cruise. Unfortunately, this was not to ...
I've been on over 15 cruises, and most recently a transatlantic on the Connie. This 4 day cruise had an entirely different feel to it, passengers were younger, drank more and the energy was a bit frenetic. Services on the ship seemed to be minimized: no education at sea, Michael's pub is now a private club, no brunch buffet, food options and size of portions in the dining room reduced. Now ...
This was our 2nd Celebrity cruise, the first being on the Solstice. Our overall experience on the Constellation was a disappointment compared to the Solstice. When we arrived to our cabin we were surprised that the sheets had torn spots and the bathroom was not as clean as it should have been. The food was average to below average with the exception being the Tuscan Grill which was above average ...
Our room was wonderful and the steward was very accommodating. However that is the only positive thing I can discuss.
Activities on Sea Days were minimum. They only offered fitness classes, discounts at the Spa and the Boutique Sales. Every so often there was a Trivia session which only lasted 15 to 30 minutes, wine and alcohol tasting that cost money. They also had a casino and Bingo. Other than ...
Fist, I have been on many cruises and this was the first (and last) on Celebrity. Food on buffet was average at best. Cabin service was horrible. Bar service was terrible since many people had beverage service included so I guess they cut staff since not a money maker after guests have already paid for bar service (first time on any cruise we were not hounded by bar service prior to boat departing ...
Ship is nice and clean. Its a good looking ship that felt new and cared for. The food was very ehh. We ate in the ocean-liners restaurant which is the most expensive on the ship -- $45./pp and it was very mediocre, my onion soup actually tasted as if it had been prepared in a hospital cafeteria. Also had aqua class which is a waste of money. Dining in Blu is tight at best. If my wife asked me a ...
First let me say that I am a veteran cruiser with experience on most of the larger cruise lines. This was not my first Celebrity cruise. I was traveling with a large group and we all had similar feelings.
On the plus side, we had a very easy embarkation experience. People were quick, friendly and we were on the ship before 11:30 .
it happened to be a rainy morning. I only mention this because ...
We have taken numerous short cruises on several cruise lines. This cruise ranks as one of my least favorite for a few reasons. First, the service in the main dining room (Celebrity Select dining) was awful. From the time we sat down, it was 45 minutes before the first course was sitting in front of us. Waters weren't refilled and they were very slow to remove empty dishes. We never did try dessert ...
