Trying Celeb solo for the second time, last chance for the X

Review for a Trans-Ocean Cruise on Celebrity Constellation

I had a pretty poor X experience a few years ago on the Eclipse, the captain having to write to each cabin to apologise type of experience. I wanted though to travel the Suez Canal though and so it seemed a good time to give the X another try. it started badly though when their greeters in Rome said I wasn't on their list and went on from there. The room had used toothpicks and peoples pills in ...

Nice cabin, good food but a number of annoying negatives.

Classic Drinks Package-to 9$ a drink- except not highlighted you pay in full if the included drinks are from cabin mini bar or served with food in cabin, & you pay in full for $5/6 fruit & smoothies drinks from the Spa Bar. It's either a drinks package or it isn't, & it isn't. A rip off. Horrendous loud screaming music in the buffet restaurant - turn it OFF! This is not a pleasant dining ...

Even the evaluation form was done wrong

There's a lot of rust all over the ship. The public restrooms are almost always more dirty and smelly than the restroom on the average petrol station. The WTC Abu Dhabi shopping mall has better quality on their toilet paper than the ship. As always there are too many different kinds of music on at the same time around the Al Bacio, which is usually our favorite place to spend our time and ...

Repositioning cruise from Rome to Abu Dhabi

We were a family of 6 adults. This was my second celebrity cruise. We were in Aqua class. Disappointed in the cruise. The Suez Canal narrator did not have adequate microphone so he ended up speaking to people as they came up to him. Not at all like Panama Canal crossing on NCL. We used Aqua class and main dinning room menu- which was nice to have access to. Not as boring as repeats. The ...

Not So Good Ship

We have been cruising over 10 years, had took many segments of world cruises. The reason we chose this cruise was Suez Canal and Petra. We took the ship's shore excursion to Petra - great disappointment. The tour guide was very green in the area - not well organized, lacking experience to lead - worst of all it hard to hear from him due to large group (our tourist bus was fully loaded). For ...

Great ports, but the ship is tired and needs work

We chose this cruise to make up a portion of a round the world trip (Back to Back Cruises). We started in Singapore and ended 30 days later in Rome. We enjoyed the ports, other than Greece, and thought the Suez Cannel passage was spectacular. We have sailed with Celebrity over 40 times and the product is slipping due to cost cutting. The ship is showing it's age and needs a complete redo. ...

A little better than our last 2 Princess cruises

Despite some negative comments about Celebrity and the Constellation in particular this cruise was far better than recent Princess cruise experiences. Yes the ship is going in for a refit (just like they all are these days) but it was in reasonable condition and clean. Cabin was functional but the TV programmes offered were appalling, out dated. Yes, the drink prices were over the top but ...

Interesting itinerary

We chose this cruise because of its itinerary. It was our first time on Celebrity. We had some great adventures in Oman and Petra. A lot of sea days but we knew this going in. The Suez Canal was interesting and very different from the Panama Canal. The cruise staff was very friendly and outgoing. The entertainment was the best we have had onboard a ship in a long time. A very pleasant ...

Good itinerary, but disappointing ship

We had been to some of the ports previously on another cruise, but the opportunity to see other ports, to spend a bit more time in the ports we had seen and to spend time extra time in Singapore and Abu Dhabi were the major reasons for selecting this cruise. We had planned to travel with 3 other couples, but two cancelled because of illness leaving a small group of 4.. First the ...

We choose this cruise for the ports of call to India. Arrived in Dubia Airport and transfered by private taxi to Abu Dhabi Cruise terminal (time 1. 40 mins). Arabian Sea & India Maiden Voyage Embarkation was straight forward and we were able to find our cabin quickly. First impression in public areas was clean upholstery was in good condition. Daytime, Self service free Tea Coffee ...
