This is the 2nd cruise we sailed with Celebrity, we were impressed with Eclipse last year and decide to join another cruise with Celebrity. This is a slightly smaller and older ship than the Eclipse, but we still had a lot of fun in this 9 nights cruise trip. First of all, we love the shows at night, the performances, singer and dancers did a fantastic jobs, we caught the show every evenings and make sure we don't miss it. The onboard activities were Okay, a lot of them are the same as what we played last year, so it is a bit lack of surprise for us, but the games are still fun to watch. We still had a great time. We did not go to the specialty dinning, so we stayed at St-Marco Dinning room for your dinner. They updated the menu everyday with plenty of choices. We tried a lot of different food everyday and they had Lobster Tail and Scallops which are my favorite! We also had our breakfast and sometimes lunch and snacks at OceanCafe, honestly the food are getting a bit boring. They did change their Chef Specials everyday, but other than that, the other food in the buffet was very similar everyday. With a cruise of 9 nights, you may get bored. My wife went to their morning sketch a couple of times early in the morning, but other dance or yoga class has to pay, so we skipped that. The gym was clean and the machines were fairly new. They have a basketball court, which is often forgotten by a lot of guests. I spent a good 45 minutes there while at the sea. The basketball are a bit old and some of time are not pumped. Service was great, there were officers teaching us to use the new App on Board, which is very useful to see the daily activities and communicate with your cruise mates and family on board. Most of the staff are very friendly and had smile with them at all time. However, my steward's job was really bad. First, she never come greet us or come talk to us during the 9 nights of the cruise. Second, she always forgot stuff in our room. For example, we had no agenda for a couple day, toiletries not refilled, no clean towels. Dirty cups are not taking away, etc. It was horrible, and we decide to talk to the guest relation after 1 week. They sent a steward supervisor to talk to us and apologized, and they gave us a follow call the days after to make sure our room and supplies are Okay. I would say that it could be just a bad individual who didn't properly do her job and not Celebrity's standard. Overall, the ship is clean and easy to navigate. We like Celebrity and have great experience at the ship, but we like to see Celebrity creating more new activities, providing more and different foods in OceanCafe daily, so it keep their guest impressed with this Premium Cruiseline. This is our 12th cruise, the third to the Mediterranean area, and our first on Celebrity. We chose this cruise for the itinerary. With the exception of Barcelona, we had not been to any of these ports on our prior cruises. Having read some of the reviews, I had become a bit skeptical about the condition of the ship. She was beautiful, very well maintained and very clean. One would have look exceedingly hard to find a blemish. I wondered if this is the same ship. The Constellation is a perfect size for me. It is large enough to have many features and plenty of seating for everyone. It is small enough to give that intimate feeling but never felt crowded at all. I do not fit the demographic for zip-lining, flow-riding, and rock climbing anyway. My wife and I flew into Venice three days early to acclimate and sight-see. Venice is a fabulous city we pre-booked our transportation and tours from our hotel web-site. Marriott could not have made it any easier for us. Boarding the ship was simple too. Unlike some of the other cruise lines, Celebrity let passengers board very early and opened all of the common spaces for our comfort in relaxing while the staterooms and the ship was prepared. Our boarding “appointment” was for 12:30. Having boarding appointment was a new concept for us a well, but it worked great. We were asked to show up 2 hours early. There was no wait at 10:30 to process and/or board. Although we were “concierge class”, it really seemed to make no difference as at the time as none of the passengers needed to wait in line to check-in or to board. Very smooth, efficient, and customer friendly. Our stateroom was 6413. This was nice as it was situated in between two suites so that provided us with an extra deep balcony. Nice. We booked tours on most ports thru Celebrity. You do know that if you book on-line in advance you can save 20%, not much difference from booking privately and the guarantee is there, so there is that, no risk of the ship leaving port without us. The guides were all fabulous and informative, the ports were all terrific, many wine tours for us on this trip. No complaints at all. Natasha our cabin steward was absolutely top notch, perhaps best in the industry. Vlad and Andrii our waiters in the MDR took great care of us. The food was exceptional; some nights the MDR offered too many great choices. No real reason to go to the specialty restaurants, although we did go on one evening. Tuscan grill is a combination steak/Italian restaurant. I found this to be odd as it seemed to be strange to pay $40 for pasta, so we both opted for the steaks. We would have gone for a pasta dinner, but not at that price point. Celebrity, put me on your focus group! I can help you understand your customer base. We are from Las Vegas and we know buffets. The lunch buffet was exceptional. We did eat out in port a few times to experience the local cuisine and flavors, I mean who can go to Spain and not try the paella, right? But everyday the lunch buffet offered many choices and daily themes; German, Italian, Indian, BBQ, seafood, so many choices and all very good. Breakfast buffet included an omelet station, and poached/Benedict station, pancakes/waffles, and then all of the usual breakfast foods as well, oatmeal, fresh fruits and melon, .hash browns, bacon, sausage, bangers, fried tomatoes, mushrooms, pastries, yummy. We did go to most of the shows and enjoyed everyone that we had seen. The ship’s orchestra is exceedingly good. The singers/dancers are all very talented. Cruise director Alejandro is an absolute laugh-riot. Live music from Klye Tacy( guitarist), and the Cardinals (ships band) were very good. Guest entertainers were the Fly Boys (musical), Jon Courtnay (pianist & comedian), and Mathew McGurk (magician) were all very, very entertaining. Jon Courtnay is pee your pants hilarious and talented too. No towel animals, but every night there was a chocolate on the pillow. I am not sure that the quality is going down, this cruise, this lovely ship, and the outstanding crew surpassed my expectations. I felt like it was my first cruise all over again. Celebrity, we will be back! Read Less

This is my first time with Celebrity and I was most impressed with the excellent service from housekeepers to crew to waiters. Everyone was very friendly and helpful throughout the whole cruise. Also they always pass out a paper for next port so you can read through the FAQ for each port. ROOM: We stayed in an oceanview room second deck. Our restroom definitely needs some maintenance work cuz the handles on the sink cabinet came off the first day, then the hook on door came off the second day, then the entire shower head holder came off the last day almost hitting my head while I was showering. DINING: There are only 3 specialty dining (Qsine, Tuscan Grill, and Sushi on 5) on this ship but I was mislead by one of the sales while booking that this ship also has another fancy restaurant called Le Petit Chef Qsine Experience. So I end up purchasing 1 extra specialty dining night package. Qsine is a fusion restaurant. Every dish has fancy presentation but everything tastes disappointing. It's only worth going if you enjoy take food photos. Sushi on 5 is decent but my husband said the sashimi is not fresh enough. I only eat cooked food so the sushi tastes fine to me. The best food here turns out to be the appetizer Kobe beef sliders. It melts in your mouth. Tuscan Grill is the only one that's worth going back. Amazing appetizer Berkshire porkbelly with sweet cider glaze & crab cake. For entree we ordered Roasted beef ribeye and it was cooked to perfection so my husband end up finishing the entire 16oz steak by himself. Grilled Branzino taste good too. We went back again the next day. As for the 2 other complimentary dining, the Oceanview cafe is buffet style and overall food quality tastes lower than expected. Food was lukewarm and dessert was way too sweet. For breakfast I wish they had waffle machine so I can make fresh ones for myself. For dinner I end up going to the fresh stir fry station every night so I can get real hot food. San Marco Restaurant is the other complimentary dining more semi formal if you want to dress up. Food tastes better the the cafe but it takes a while to get your food. We end up only going there twice cuz we are always starving after our daily 9 hour excursion. Some nights I end up eating my instant noodles. Excursion: I booked 7 excursions with Celebrity. Overall tour quality was good but pricy. If I go again I might try to book local tours. I had a hard time understanding the first tour guide in France maybe due to her accent. I gave up listening to her after the first hour. All the tour guides were fine and I can understand them perfectly. Keep in mind these tours are always rushing you especially when you go to Florence and Rome. There's no time to take good photos and pay attention to listen to the tour guide at the same time. We almost always end up giving up on listening and focusing on taking good photos. I was most disappointed with the meals that's included in the these tours. The lunch included tours is at least $70 to $100 more per person but they only serve you lasagna. It feels like I am paying $100 more for a bite of salad, a thin slice of prosciutto, a piece of lasagna and tiramisu and sparkling water. This is for sure not worth your money. You should save it and just grab lunch on your own. Sea Day: Plan your day earlier. Avoid lunch and dinner time cuz there's no place to sit in the buffet area. Same for pools. There's a lot of activities that day and you can plan accordingly. WIFI: Very very slow speed at sea and we paid for unlimited plan for one device. Not sure what other options are out there. APP: I tried using the app but it wasn't really helpful for me. I booked excursions several months ahead and I completely forgot about the details of each excursions. I couldn't find this kind of information on the app. FEEDBACK: They will send you a survey at the end of your cruise but that survey has no blank area for me to write detail reviews like this. The only note area has limited character count that I couldn't even finish write 1 sentence. Not sure if they really want to improve and read our reviews. I might go back again with lower expectation on food quality. Overall their customer service is outstanding and this is why I might consider going back again. Read Less

It was our third cruise on X and 7th cruise overall. My wife and I in our mid 50s, loved our experience on Constellation. We had no issues with the embarkation and debarkation processes. Loved our stateroom, its location and perks associated with Concierge Class! Excellent and dedicated staff, have provided us with an outstanding service quality! We loved the food in the San Marco Dining Room and Oceanview Cafe. The Cruise Director and his staff welcomed us to participate in activities such as safe archery, bean toss, trivia games, bingo, Minute to win it, Deal or no Deal, Silent Disco, Karaoke/Bandeoke in addition to the traditional evening shows. We really had a good time! We used Celebrity Excursions in Dubrovnik, Chania (Souda) Crete, Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes and Katakolon. All offered comfortable buses, very qualified guides able to explain the history behind the vestiges and for the most part, were very well organized! Santorini with 4 cruise ships in port, was a bit of a let down for us and most of the cruisers we met on our ship: The main reason is the bottle neck created in Fira, requiring all passengers to return to their ship via this single exit « door ». Passengers had to use one of the following 3 options: Cable car ( 30-45 minute chaotic line up,) Descend the 600 steps on the back of a donkey or on foot, on the path used by the donkeys, which was slippery, smelly and involved having to pass directly and unsafely close behind « parked » donkeys. This said, Santorini is and remains a very beautiful island, In short, we enjoyed a beautiful experience and this trip will remain part of our lifetime memories. Read Less

Went on a far east cruise on the Celebrity Constellation. Firstly, our taxi didn't turn up to take us to the hotel for our overnight stay. When asking anyone from Celebrity Cruises they couldn't help us as they couldn't speak English. (we werent the only ones this happened to) While waiting to check in and board ship in Shanghai, we was shunted from place to place with no where warm to sit. (it was very cold) The staff was amazing so no issues there what so ever !!! But the price on board ship was so extortionate. The WIFI and Excursions was so overpriced. If we hadn't got a drinks package in place, I have no idea what we would have done. The ship docked in cargo type docks in the middle of nowhere. So, if you didn't have an excursion booked then you had nowhere to go. We ended up taking two trips just to get of ship. $49 just take us to Danang for a 4-hr trip which got cut to 3hrs which was not good enough for the amount they were charging. We complained and got a 30% refund. The second one was Singapore night at a glance, which most of it was done on foot and cost a grand total of $99 each for 3.5 hrs long trip. They only had American dollars on boardship. They should have had the relevant monies needed for each port docked at. The food on board was mainly rice type dishes and stir fry, very little of anything English. And you need very long arms to get the things from the back in the buffet. Ridiculous to have to pay to go in speciality restaurants. ( Just my opinion) To top it off we had to wait in airport for our flight home for over 12hrs because of turn around. All in all, very disappointing as this was for our 30th wedding Anniversary and my Husbands 60th Birthday. we saved long and hard for it. A big let down !! Read Less

We were very excited about this cruise and choose celebrity with its great reputation and with this ship having so many sea days we wanted to make sure we had great food and great entertainment... we were in an aqua spa suit with balcony and on first impressions although it was dated it was very clean so we were happy well this didn’t last long... our room was above the main buffet so it was noisy and constantly smelt of food and the overwhelming strong garlic smell that stuck to our clothes and was in our room and throughout the corridor was sickening... the main buffet served the same everyday just changing the meat, the man carving the meat would just pick it up with his hands and chuck it on your plate even though he was wearing gloves it put you off eating it he was very rude and he had an argument with a guest because he manhandled his food so bad half of it miss his plate, it was like being served in prison...I always eat fresh vegetables at home so much to my shock and surprise to find them serving only frozen vegetables in the buffet they were tasteless and soggy quite frankly vile... I can confirm it was frozen veg as every day we saw a member of staff walking through our corridor with bags of frozen veg taking it down to the buffet... there was a particular group of people that spend all day and all night in the smoking area getting drunk which is fine until they were so drunk they were swearing shouting racist remarks being rude to the bar staff chucking rubbish and bottles all over the floor and upsetting many guest around them... where was the ships security why were these people aloud to carry on... if i had been told for 3 days of this cruise the outer decks would be shut down and lighting turned down for safety because of pirates I would have never booked this cruise, this also ment if you had paid for a balcony you couldn’t go on it the lights had to be off curtains shut... our room was difficult to get to and from with the amount of areas shut down on the ship and I saw many elderly people struggling to get to there room in the dark and getting lost in fact we helped a few and we don’t even work on the ship... entertainment well if you can call it entertainment was diabolical the best singer I saw on that ship was a guest getting up to sing in karaoke, the shows were so amateur that it was embarrassing to watch I never saw any to the end cos it was awful, celebrity need to take a leaf out of Norwegian books they had amazing shows, they charge 25 dollars per person to play deal or no deal I know other ships charge 20 dollars, the only good thing the entrainment team put on was the silent disco... tv channels consist of all about celebrity cruises a bit of sport and news channels if you want to watch a movie you pay 15 dollars that’s of course if the movie can download now even though they are charging you 15 dollars to watch a movie in your room you can watch some of them films for free in the outdoor cinema total daylight robbery on celebrity’s behalf... also opposite the coffee shop you can purchase ice cream at a cost but you can get the same ice cream in the buffet for free how can you charge people in some parts of the ship and have it for free in other parts of the ship... daylight robbery... the internet is massively over expensive and we need it for my husbands work but over half the time it didn’t work...When we got on the ship we brought a drinks package included soft drinks and alcohol much to our surprise half way through our cruise the had run out of coco cola, Nescafé and other brands not exceptable celebrity especially when it was at the start of the sea days so you had to wait till the next port before they could stock up again and even then there was still beverages unavailable... we wanted champagne with our dinner in the Italian restaurant which was the only nice meal we had they had a long list and we know that’s not encluded but we wanted a romantic night and were more than happy to pay for champagne the only good one they had was Cristal how can you run out of champagne...me and my husband got tummy aches and sickness along with a lot of other guest whilst on this ship, the only time We enjoyed ourself was when we got off the ship in Tormina and Petra... when we docked in Abu Dhabi we changed our flight and came home early because we couldn’t stand to be on this ship a moment longer I can honestly say our bad experience with this ship has put us off cruising for life I certainly will never book with celebrity again Read Less

This was our firs cruise experience so this review will help you if you've never cruised before. We got married in Rome so started the cruise from there for a 10 day trip around the med finishing in Barcelona. Obviously not cruising before we had no idea what to expect! Embarkation was smooth, we were greeted by smiling staff offering sparkling wine(?) and we were overwhelmed by the ship in all honesty. The ship is grand and beautiful, there was some live music being played by an acoustic duo in the main stairwell area which made our first experiencing extremely smooth and relaxing. We had a wonder round and took in many of the different areas of the ship to gain some understanding of how to 'to cruise'. Cabin We opted for the Concierge Class. The room itself was great, spacious and the balcony was a great size and private. Bathroom was small and you could not fit 2 people in there at one time, but I can imagine this is probably the same in most ships. There is a decent size dressing table with lots of mirrors so you can look your best before leaving your room! Bed was extremely comfy and you had multiple pillow options when concierge class. We didn't really benefit from the Concierge, mostly because she was not available for the first day of our cruise, I am sure she was helping other guests, but we had questions regarding our drinks package etc that we just figured out ourselves or asked members of staff. What we did benefit from being Concierge class was a backstage tour of the kitchen area which was complementary as part of concierge class. It's only a quick tour but does give you an insight to the extremely busy and complex kitchen arrangements. Dining We took the opportunity to dine all suited and booted however the same cannot be said for other guests, which is just sad. We ate breakfast and lunch in the buffet which does have a really good range of food and the queues are minimal considering how many people are on the boat. However when dining in the buffet of an evening, you are sharing the experiencing with people still in swim shorts etc which just ruins it slightly. After a couple of days we booked in to the San Marco restaurant every night. We had pretty much the same table and waiter each night which is far better quality. I am quite fussy when it comes to food, so I ate French Onion soup and Steak pretty much the entire time which was delicious. My wife had various other dishes but again, the food quality was very high. As a couple you are put on either a 2 space table or out on a big table with other guests. As anti social as we are, we requested the individual 2 person table where there is minimal room between the tables but does not impact your experience too much. Entertainment The entertainment is good and ranges from musicals to magicians. The onboard entertainments team perform multiple times during the cruise, and this becomes a little boring. There is an acoustic duo that play twice a day most days of the cruise in various locations of the ship and they are brilliant to listen to. After the last show (10pm) there is no real entertainment. So if you visit the earlier show (7pm) you will be stuck for things to do after, other than the overpriced casino. There are daily sports activities which involve table tennis and quizes that are hosted by the activities team, there's not much of a budget for this but its still something extra to do. There are enough sun beds to cover even on sea days, just make sure you get down there before 10am. Of course theres still the usual people throwing towels down at 6am but theres enough room and lounges to cover. The pools are ok and decent size, the indoor salt pool is lovely and we spent a lot of time in there. There is a spa at an additional cost which is always put in front of you. They are very keen on upsells on this ship and you will always find extra ways to part with your cash. Didn't spend any time in the casino (Other than having to walk through it to get to the theatre) as it was expensive. $10 for minimum bet on blackjack is a little pricey for me, but that may just be all cruises?? Other than the table tennis and drinking alcohol there is no more activities for you to do. And as a couple in our late 20's we were at a point where we didnt want to sun bathe all day or sit at the bar. The ports we went to do were great, Portifino is beautiful but very small and expensive. They offer a boat to shore at an extra cost so be aware of this. We travelled during term time so there was no children, but I feel if we had kids then there wouldn't be a massive amount for them to do, so do not recommend this as a family holiday. Service Service is superb all round and 99% of the staff are, or at least appear to be happy. I will point out that the ship, I have no experience to compare, but was extremely clean and tidy. The toilet facilities were absolutely spotless and there was always a 'toilet guy' in the gents by the San Marco restaurant. Overall Do not recommend Concierge class The ship does appear to be dated and tired in places Theres not a massive amount to do (In comparison to Royal Carribean and Carnival for example) Very clean and tidy Good food Great staff We paid over £4k all in, so I do feel it was ok value for money. But we were expecting more from the concierge class. Read Less

Well, we have just returned from our first Celebrity Cruise in 5 years having spent the last 5 on P&O. We were onboard the Celebrity Constellation having done 3 cruises on the Silhouette when she was new. Our cruise was the Adriatic and the Greek Islands Cruise from the 20th August for 10 nights starting from Venice. We had stayed in Venice for 3 nights prior to the cruise and organised all transfers ourselves. First impressions of the ship were very positive, and embarkation was very smooth and efficient. We were onboard at about 11.30am and had not had to wait more than a minute to check in. We liked the size of the ship and loved the fact that she had a large prom deck, though disappointed that it does not go all round the front or the aft of the ship. Our cabin was superb – we had Concierge Class 7203 which had a huge aft balcony with 2 sun loungers and a small table, a large table and 4 chairs. There was easily enough space for more! I would say that the balcony was about 15ft by 8ft at the least. The shades above made it very private and it was very quiet, with a mixture of shade and sun. We had been worried that the length of the balcony would make the cabin dark, but this was not the case and the cabin was light and airy. As travellers from the OK we were really pleased that we were asked If we wanted a tea kettle – and very surprised. A nice touch for us Brits! One thing that surprised us was that the cabin next to us was a family cabin and not another CC cabin. This was a surprise as had we realised this we would have chosen another one. No offense to anyone with children but in the school holidays it can be a lottery re possible noise with children on a balcony. Thankfully, the family next to us were generally respectful of others and quiet and we thank them for that. If we travelled in an aft cabin on this class of ship again we would check out what cabins are either side in case we were not as lucky next time. One thing that struck us about this aft cabin was that, unlike the Silhouette aft cabin and an aft cabin we have had on P&O’s Britannia, there was no juddering or vibration and when docking we very rarely felt anything. Connie came across as a very smooth, well balanced ship – if that makes sense. No soot either! Our cabin was comfortable, though some of the furniture a little worn and our balcony rail needed some TLC (but looking at the one nearby I think it was the next one to have some varnish!). The bathroom was excellent, and the storage space was amazing. We’ve never had a cabin with so much space to store our belongings! Have to say, the one thing that we both disliked was the full-length mirror that covered the wall right opposite the bed. Useless as a mirror to use to dress as you couldn’t stand far enough back and not at all flattering first thing in the morning (ha ha). We found the crew on the whole to be friendly and attentive. Staff in the bar areas were helpful and chatty but we did feel that they seemed a little understaffed at times and quite often it was far easier to go to the bar ourselves to get a drink than wait from someone to come to us. We found the perks from Concierge Class to be really good – we loved the special chance to go to the helipad on our sail in to Dubrovnik and some of the little extras we received. We would definitely go CC again in the future if funds allowed. The enhanced breakfast menu was excellent, and we made use of cabin service for breakfast a number of times. It was very efficient - though we wished that the times given to order went beyond 9 – 9.30am as some days when we wanted a lazy day we would have preferred a time after 10am (particularly when the clocks had changed an hour). We have to mention our cabin steward Neranda who was amazing – a superb advertisement for the cruise line and probably one of the best stewards we have ever had. His was polite, friendly, helpful, and thoughtful. His decoration of our cabin for our anniversary and bottle of wine was a lovely surprise and very much appreciated. In effect, it was thanks to him that we had a special cruise and we would very much like to meet him again on a future cruise. Dining. On our last cruises on Celebrity we found the food to be better than this time. We ate in Qsine on the first night and enjoyed the meal once again. We did think that the staff in there sometimes try too hard though – if that makes sense. We did not eat in the other speciality restaurants though – with Sushi on 5 not being to our taste and the menu in the Tuscan Grill not inspiring us at all. The food in the Main Dining Room was good when we chose, but we found that our choices were very limited, and it was a case of ‘which one item do you fancy tonight’. In fact, the MDR was the main disappointment of the cruise as we had chosen select dining and, on this occasion, it seemed chaotic most evenings. We expected to wait, but on one occasion our pager did not work, and we waited an hour or more with little apology when we gave up and went back to check. We sat in 3 main areas and service was hit and miss. 2 areas were ok(ish) but nothing special and some staff tried their best. Another one where we sat for 2 nights was terrible and everyone we sat with made the same comment. Service for the wine was hit and miss too – with the wine steward checking and topping up your glass in one area and no sign of them in the other. On 2 evenings we ate in the Buffet Restaurant and that was ok – we ate at the back in the open air and it was enjoyable. The food was good and the service very good and friendly. We used the buffet restaurant a number of times for breakfast and lunch in the late afternoon. We were never disappointed, and service and the quality of the menu was excellent. I have to say that the quality of the Celebrity buffet has been and still is way above any we have had on other cruise lines. We also used Café al Bacio several times for speciality coffees and, again the service there was excellent and the coffees very good! We are not a couple who tend to go to the major shows and prefer a walk around the ship after our meal and sit is a quiet bar. This time we found that the singers were a mixed bag. Sadly, we can’t remember are the names but the male soloist in the Oceanview Bar at the back was excellent (just as well as we could hear him from our cabin balcony), as were the group who performed most nights. A female soloist had a voice that was not to our taste (if that is a polite way of saying it) and it was not much fun listening to her trying to sing Whitney Houston! The string duet – well, words fail. The arrangements for the items they were playing really were not good and, though we both like classical music, we just did not like this duet at all. They certainly emptied some of the bar areas quickly and just didn’t seem to fit with the ‘vibe’ of the ship. The Movies under the Stars seemed good and in a good location at the back of the ship. We were going to make use of this but that will have to be another time! Drinks packages. We had a free Classic Drinks Package (if anything is ever free) and we used our onboard credit to upgrade to Premium when we boarded. We are unsure if it was worth the upgrade charge, but we found it easier to use, but had to keep a check on our bill on the TV as sometimes we found that we had been charged extra for some drinks. A mention must go to the Customer Service Team. They were excellent and though we had had a problem with one of our suitcases being damaged they dealt with the issue immediately and sorted any issues we had with our bill quickly and friendly. Shopping – loved the way that the shops were laid out and there seemed to be a good range of goods. A shame that they did not have a small shop for little odds and ends though. It may sound a small think but when we ran out of small packets of tissues it was a pain having to walk around Mykonos to find more. Surely the ship could stock more ‘must haves’ for passengers. Sun loungers – there always seemed to be plenty of sun loungers available, even on a sea day and the pool areas were well maintained and an idea place for a swim. One thing we did miss on Celebrity was the end of the day message from the Captain as we left port. I know that this is not a Celebrity thing, but it seemed strange not to have a message from the Bridge as we sailed away. We did see several Officers around the ship and they were always polite and friendly. On one occasion the Captain stopped to chat with us and that was a very pleasant surprise. Finally, the ports of call: Dubrovnik 2 days, Mykonos, Crete, Athens, Santorini, Kotokolon – what more can you say! All great ports of call with amazing opportunities for site seeing. We did some of the ship’s excursions and they were a mixed bag! Next year we will be doing a similar itinerary and will be checking out the chance to do more alone as we found the cost of the ship’s excursions quite expensive. To summarise our first cruise with Celebrity on one of their smaller ships – we had a great time as always. Looking back at the review there are some negatives, but these are generally minor issues and just our objective viewpoint having returned to Celebrity after a short time. Things weren’t perfect, but we have yet to sail on a cruise line where everything is! The test is would be go again and the answer is a most definite ‘YES’ and have booked again to go on Edge next year. Read Less

Actually a relative selected this cruise two years ago but we took her to Israel in April this year and she said that it was too much to go again. So our son and daughter-in-law came instead. Embark. We booked overnight before the cruise at Hotel Arlecchino which was at the opposite side of the plaza that has many water taxis and buses and the People Mover to the dock. Note we wanted to have 1 1/2 days in Venice before the cruise but we made a mistake with the time difference. So we had a walking tour just after landing and then in the morning we did some sightseeing and then we walked to the port, crossing the plaza and taking the people mover for 1.5€ person each way to the port and then walking to the cruise terminal. This could be stressful for those with mobility problems and/or excessive luggage. There appeared to be a shuttle but it wasn't running and there were minimal porters. Once inside, we arrived about 11:15, the process went smoothly. As Elite members we were told our room would be available after 11 but they weren't opened until 1:30. Room. We were in Aqua Class and our son and daughter-in-law were in a standard balcony room. Both rooms were clean and in reasonable repair as were most of the ship areas. They made good use of the Rendevous and Reflection Lounges, utilizing them most of the day and night. Bar staff were present but not obnoxious. Room cleaning staff were generally present and helpful. . I would have appreciated an option for vegetarian /dairy canapes. I look forward to receiving them but this time we were never able to eat all of them. Being an international cruise there were fewer participants at trivia, etc. But all the Celebrity Life staff were friendly and pleasant. More than any other ship I remember, almost every event was on time - beginning and end.I think I've seen this on other Celebrity ships too, The captains announcements can't be heard in the room. I couldn’t even find the TV Station to hear them on. This was very frustrating. BINGO seems too expensive and too little payout. Also it doesn't seem fair to disallow the Captains Club benefit (3 extra cards )on the last day. It also doesn't seem fair to not have a minutes based renewal when I used my 90 free ones and then it wasn't fair because I didn't get the credit I would have if I purchased it first instead of doing the 90 minutes The gym was basically function but their class schedule was very frustrating. The yoga and pilates classes were at 8am-9am and most of our excursions had stating times just after 8 and so we couldn't attend (I prepaid for 5 classes and only attended 1). I haven't gone to some of the production shows on other recent cruises but these were very much worthwhile. The theater was very comfortable. I apploud the designers for the great multi use of space espeically Rendevou and Reflection ships. My son kept looking for the table tennis table. He found raquets and balls but no table. But there were table tennis meetings on the schedule. We then found out that there were no tables but they must have purchased them in Athens ,by the end of the week there were two tables. Except for the last excursion day, the ship shore excursions seemed to go well. WE did a mixture of regular and third party excursions. Note it appeared that people taking private excursions often had to walk further than those on ship excursions. We had no problem exchanging some tickets when changed our mind. Overall my biggest dissappointment was there wasn't a specialist on Greek Mythology on board. Read Less

Really enjoyed this short cruise from Barcelona to Venice as Part of a longer holiday in Spain and Italy. Had a balcony cabin on deck 7 which had been recently refurbished and was very nice comparing well with our Aqua Class cabin on Eclipse the previous year. The cabin steward was friendly and helpful as were all the crew we encountered. Having been spoilt by the Blu restaurant we did find the MDR a bit overwhelming but really enjoyed eating from the buffet in the Sunset Bar for several nights instead. We had a lovely meal in Tuscan and would go there again but didn’t really get the concept in Quisine so would probably not bother with that on future cruises. We enjoyed most of the ports we called at on this cruise except Genoa as it was a Monday and most of the tourist attractions were closed. The info on the ship didn’t make you aware of that so after a very hot walk standing at the entrance of things we could have visited on a different day we took the open top bus tour and then got back on the boat! We did the Vatican Behind the Scenes Tour run by Celebrity which was very good but included a meal in a hotel near by. Unfortunately we were not impressed with the, quality of the food or service which was slow and wasted an hour of our short time in the city. We were left feeling we had paid a lot of money for something that we could have got far cheaper and better by finding somewhere ourselves. Neither was it a traditional Italian meal in a local restaurant that celebrity suggests you will get. Overall though this was another great cruise and we would use celebrity again Read Less

This was our thirteenth cruise and our first on Celebrity. We were expecting a step up from our other cruises which have been on Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Princess, but we were sadly and utterly disappointed! I am not sure what the problem was but it seemed that every crew member, apart from our room steward, did not want to be there. They were uncaring, disinterested and, quite frankly, just going thought the motions. Not once were we referred to by name or made to feel welcome. On other cruise lines when you have visited, say, a bar for a couple of days, the staff know your name and your favourite drink...not on this ship. We thought the food in the main restaurant was very average, as was our experience at the Tuscan Grille Italian restaurant on the first night. One highlight was our meal in QSine, which, to their credit, was probably the best meal we had ever eaten at sea. The service there was good too. The nightly shows were also disappointing with all but two being the on board crew performing various songs and dancing. They too, sadly, were below par. Very disappointing and we will not be rushing back to Celebrity when others make much more of an effort! Read Less

Return booking and to go to different places Ship service is very good and can’t fault anything on board. Food and choice too, wish had also upgraded for fine dining as tour around kitchens gave a taste of the choice they have, however main dining room, with shared tables has great ambience. Back bar on level 10 has amazing service and definitely the place to sit and say goodbye to each port. Recommend always taking a drinks package. Well worth it along with gratuities paid in advance Enough time at all stops and time to enjoy at sea days with facilities. Mykanos was the stand out place, quaint and very Greek Santarini commercialised but beautiful views Dubrovnik clean and full of recent history and excellent local buses are very cheap and frequent from port side Local taxis in katakalon are very reasonable at 15euro pp to Olympus realisable and 20 mins Will definitely use constellation again and recommend to all Read Less

I enjoyed this cruise very much, which I took as a combination continuing education conference and vacation. For a ten-day cruise, it offered fantastic port opportunities, starting in Venice (we stayed in the Best Western Mestre on the mainland, across the street from the Mestre train station, for an easy commute into Venice). Embarkation and disembarkation were easy and uneventful: the transfers to the airport were overpriced compared to what we would have paid for a cab (which was readily available, it turns out). We stayed in balcony cabin 9036, which was comfortable but had a curtain in the shower (and a clothes line--very handy for in-room laundry!). We are travelers who prefer the variety and flexibility of the buffet, which met our needs perfectly (plenty of salmon lox, omelettes to order at the stern eggs station, and a nice grill station for lunch and supper too, etc.). Be alert to the small signs if you are gluten-sensitive or need to avoid sugar, as the larger signs do not apply to all items in the area, I learned. We enjoyed the overnight stay in Dubrovnik, and would recommend taking a cab to the Old Town for an 8 AM start to the city walls walk (fee applies) before the heat and the crowds. At the port of Zadar, we took Celebrity's Krka River National Park excursion, which was a wonderful experience (shorter travel time than Plitvice Lakes). We also enjoyed the "Beautiful Taormina" excursion from Catania, Sicily, and would recommend a ship's tour due to the limited port time (9 AM to 4 PM). We would likely recommend a tour from Naples, which we found to be interesting but a bit gritty (it is absolutely true about the chaotic drivers running red lights despite pedestrians crossing!) as we tried to explore it on our own and in a guided Napolitours walking tour (suggest buy a good map, or have data and GPS on your smartphone). The authentic Neapolitan pizza was worth it, though! Read Less

I chose this cruise because 'Celebrity Cruises' had been recommended to me by my parents who would have the same level of standards as myself. The price was inviting and some of the ports were in places I had yet to visit. I traveled with my boyfriend and my parents (my father is disabled and has to use a wheelchair) so cruises make sense as a holiday option. We stayed in Abu Dhabi for 4 days prior to the cruise and book-ended the trip with 3 nights in Rome. These two stays were what made the holiday in all honesty, and these were booked personally. Firstly the ship, the Constellation is an old tired ship that really needs some TLC. Yes it is spotlessly clean and the staff do their utmost to keep it so. The decks are well worn, the sunbeds were old and not very comfortable and the sun towels very faded and tatty. The Ocean View Cafe, the food was mediocre and the restaurant, again tired looking, broken ice machines, dripping coffee dispensers etc. The Poolside Cafe, burgers were good but unfortunately Alexander had a very displeasing temperament and everything was served begrudgingly. The San Marco restaurant was the only saving grace, Alistair and Jonny were great waiters and always wore a smile and a friendly greeting and the food was a much better standard than Ocean view. The entertainment was very poor, I had been told of 'West End' worthy entertainment in the evenings but not the 'one man shows' we were shown. Obviously the better shows are for the better ships. The movies that were shown on board were firstly not vetted by anyone and sometimes not appropriate for the few kids on board but also incredibly lacking in choice, the same movie was shown more than 9 times in one week. The one opportunity I had to watch a movie I wanted to see the sound was not working with the picture and no one did anything about it. The pool side band that played each day at about 3pm were dreadful, they played the same set each day bar one new song at the end and not only that but the lead singer could not sing, she proceeded to butcher well known songs for 15 days straight. The excursions, as my father was wheelchair bound most of the time off the ship we had to pick tours with minimal walking for him. In Jordan, myself and my mother went to Petra, a tour that started off ok, until we stopped in the middle of nowhere at a shop to use the 'toilets' but we wasted over 30 mins, then we had lunch at the Movenpick in Petra, food was fine but our guide did not have the courage to tell people to hurry up and finish up. We did not enter into Petra until after 3pm and were told to be back at the bus at 6. You travel all the distance to see one of the 'New 7 wonders of the world' only to get 3 hours to explore it. My father and my boyfriend embarked on the Aqaba tour and Wadi Rum which involved a drive through Aqaba where a fort, a beach and a street with hotels were pointed out and that concluded the tour. They were then driven to a 'Welcome center' where they all got off the bus to pick up a ticket and told to get back on the bus again immediately and then driven to a Bedouin tent and ignored for 3 hours. This tour was supposed to be an informative tour and the tent was supposed to have someone explain the Bedouin culture etc. a complete waste of money and time. Thankfully the remainder of the tours we had booked were just transport and we did our own sightseeing, unfortunately though, the times for collection were well ahead of the ship leaving port so we could have had more time in places. The 'boutiques' were overpriced and the 'sales' they held each day were not worth writing about. Just for example, one watch that my boyfriend was interested in was 'reduced' to $200 from $600 but is available online for £70.. hardly a saving. One final thing to add to my review was the Suez canal was not a 'feature' to add to the list, it's a canal full of flies with not much to see either side. The restaurants, bars and even the Solarium lacking in electric fly catchers were filled with flies which were crawling all over the food for 3 days. Although I do wish to cruise again, I will not travel on this ship, but one of the ships my parents actually traveled on as the standards seem much higher. Read Less

My husband & I had never cruised before and wanted something special to celebrate our joint 50th Birthdays. Thomas Cook recommended Celebrity as one of the best and when we looked at the brochure, we loved the destinations for this particular cruise, so booked it! Initially we were disappointed in the size of the room but talking to others, apparently the rooms are bigger than a lot of ships!! We found it frustrating at the post getting on the ship as every person we got passed to wanted to see the same papers the last person looked at BUT it all went smooth enough. We had the classic drinks package 'free' with the cruise yet couldn't get a martini at the martini bar! We asked why as it was on the package and we were are the martini bar, the bar staff told us it was because their martinis were bigger and they used 'better' ingredients, so if you wanted one from them you had to pay or you could go to one of the other bars for one! Very odd i have to say! The food in the San Marco restaurant was amazing, the portions were big enough for us and we felt no need to use or pay for any of the speciality restaurants! We used it for breakfast and dinner! The staff were always happy & friendly in San Marco, nothing was too much trouble! We were disappointed in the outside pools, we thought they would be bigger than there were! There was always sunbeds available but we did notice that the 'good' sunbeds with the thick mattresses were always taken by the same people! The indoor pool area was very very nice, loved the Thalassotherapy pool and we spent most sea days in there rather than outside! We didn't go to many shows but the ones we did see were OK, depends on what you like and what you don't like. We didn't do any of the 'daily activities' as its not our thing, another reason for us to use the indoor pool. The ports were nice, we didn't do the ships tours, we'd already booked tours with Cruising Excursions as recommended again by Thomas Cook, so cant comment on how the ships tours were. We didn't have many children on the cruise, probably about 5 or 6 but for us that was good, that was another reason we chose this particular cruise, we didn't want children running around, that again was our personal choice as our kids have grown up and moved out, having peace to us was good (saying that, the kids that were on were no trouble what so ever) It took us a while to get in to the cruise life but by the end of the cruise, we'd booked again for 2020! Organised over the phone in 20 minutes they took care of flights, all transfers, hotels and cruise. Everything went so smoothly. The itinerary was amazing. The crew were simply fantastic. I can't say enough to praise them. We enjoyed the ship so much as honeymooners. Room was kept spotless, attended to 3 times a day. In fact, the entire ship was spotless throughout at all times. Food was first class. Service in the main dining hall was superb. Foods selection and presentation was like a top class fine dining restaurant. Crew were incredible at recalling our names and our favourite drinks. Boarding/disembarking process so fast and easy. Crew took care of everything. Theatre shows were amazing. General consensus from our fellow passengers we spoke to was celebrity were a cut above the rest. We did overhear on a couple of occasions people commenting negatively on small matters for reasons that left my wife and I disgusted by the notions some people must have of themselves. So if you see a poor review about constellation its from a perpetually unhappy cruiser that simply cannot be pleased as everyone seemed to be delighted with this amazing ship and crew. I'm already planning 2019 with only celebrity. I honestly loved every minute onboard. I don't usually bother writing reviews but im delighted to recommend celebrity constellation. Read Less

IST cruise and a big disappointment.Chose itinerary and company based on friends and reputation of Celebrity. All my life have been told that the dining/food is an amazing experience.Well it's NOT on the Constellation. Main restaurant San Marco was extremely poor for food quality and standards of service.eg first meal asked for a table for two....only to be sat in a row with my wife further away than both diners either side !Had to stand up and wave to get someone to come and serve us after 20 mins .He asked if I was ready to order....I replied a drink would be nice ! Food was over cooked, dry chicken, icecream scoop of 'mash' and a sprig of broccoli !! Food described on the menu arrived without certain ingredients eg salad with blue cheese .....no blue cheese.Prawns with exotic mango cocktail sauce came with a little pot of tomato sauce ! Looking back I can not believe how bad it was.We did not look forward to our evening meals.QSine (speciality dining) was our saving grace, Food in the buffet restaurant was better but it always felt like being on a ferry!NOT what we wanted on a very expensive holiday .I am told we have been very unlucky ! but MANY people were complaining at the standards on the boat. This was our first cruise so we tried to enjoy it as best we could .Experienced cruisers said it was the worst they had ever sailed on. Cabin was great, plenty of room, comfortable bed etc.Balcony uninspiring and definitely NOT worth the large extra cost.Canapes( a few olives, couple of crisps !) came every afternoon which were never touched. Staff on the whole friendly but we never felt special.Cabin attendant excellant.Concierge ....only saw her once and she couldn't answer our question and did not attempt to try and find out or get back to us ! Entertainment in theatre ..excellant. Trips totally overpriced and poor.....£ 127.50 each for the hidden valley ...absolute rip off. The overall impression of the ship is that it is tired, dull dark lounges and not the luxury experience I had looked forward too, especially for the high cost, and expected from one of the best rated Cruise companies. Cruising again ? Why not ! But not on the Constellation !....maybe more research next time ! Read Less

Firstly, the fascinating itinerary -- Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Philippines, Borneo and back to Singapore. The South China Sea was as calm as the Baltic! Very comfortable suite on the Constellation. Excellent service from Rhona and Rufina. Friendly and efficient support throughout cruise from Michael's Club concierge Joao. First class dining in Luminae and Tuscan Grill. Restaurant staff are superb as are the Café al Bacio staff! Joining and leaving the ship couldn't have gone more smoothly. Port visitor arrangements throughout were efficient. Generally enjoyed the shore excursions though the market by the shore in Kota Kinabalu is to be avoided unless you're comfortable with the overpowering stench of fish combined with overripe fruit (durian?). It's disappointing that whole day trips have to include shopping for up to one hour, even when the trips are about half to one hour later in returning to the ship than expected. Apart from this, the shore excursions are most enjoyable and most of the guides are excellent. We miss the formal nights, but despite this and our other criticisms, we have booked three more cruises with Celebrity. Perfect ending to the cruise was provided by my son and family from Indonesia joining us in Singapore for a relaxing long weekend. Read Less

Ok, we had a lovely Cruise, the itinery was great and that is what sold us the cruise, the ship was comfortable, albeit a little tired in places, There were issues that Celebrity really need to address but on balance it may appear to some that these are petty to others. However you have to remember that Celebrity are selling a dream, and as a customer I should not have to compromise. We arrived early in Abu Dhabi, 7am but couldn’t check in until 9 and board until 11 and didn’t get cabin until 12, so really lost the morning. No one said we could leave the cruise termininal at check in but in reality there was nothing to stop us once checked in, so I should have asked. My advice is check in and then do the big red shuttle bus to the trade centre or take taxi and start exploring as soon as you can. Don’t waste time waiting to get your cabin as it will still be there when you get back and your luggage will have arrived too. We didn’t, ended up not going out until 13:00 so missed doing as much there as we could have there. My biggest issue that makes me angry with Celebrity is the Indian Visa debacle as others have mentioned, so will not go into details here, but Celebrity are shirking there responsibilities for treating customers fairly when they insist in their correspondence that to board you must have a Multi Entry Visa, yet are able to “arrange” on board visa’s for people they allowed to board without a visa and at a cost that was significantly less than most of those passengers who followed their guidance paid to the Indian Consulate or a Visa Application Service. The most frustrating issue relates to the lack of sun Beds, and the behaviour that this creates to Bed block. Something that was prevalent and have not seen on other cruises, so beware. The pool butlers seemed unable to manage the situation when beds were reserved but unoccupied for hours.....and there was no obvious system in place or passenger communication on a fair usage policy, something that they could have published in the daily guide. The terrace was lovely with its rattan furniture and big screen, but again if you wanted one of these beds you had to be up early, and if you went specifically to only watch the film then I am afraid the floor was for you. This really isn’t acceptable for a Cruise line of Celebrities status. The state room was really nice, not new but clean and comfortable. A nice place to take a lazy breakfast on the balcony on your first day at sea. The attendant worked hard to look after us and was responsive to our needs. We really enjoyed the Celebrity cabaret team shows in a first class theatre, some of the other shows were a little hit and miss but still watchable. The Martini Bar was a great environment and very popular so always commanded big queues at the bar, patience is a virtue, the guys work hard, but another pair of hands would have really helped. The San Marco was a nice environment but the whole Select dining queuing spoilt some of the enjoyment and seemed chaotic, although we learnt to book a table for the following night on our way out so helped us cope with the apparent Chaos. The staff work hard, but sometimes there just doesn’t seem to be enough of them and on quite a few occasions I had to ask for my Wine to be topped up, again when you are selling an experience then attentiveness is what makes the difference, that is the finesse that it lacked. Food was generally good with a selection and some staples if you didn’t fancy the daily special, but having cruised previously with Princess although the food was enjoyable I would say it wasn’t quite as good. The Ocean View was great for breakfast and throughout the day had great selection of good quality mealsand snacks - really enjoyed the Pizza bar and the Egg station for breakfast. We chose to eat the Indian special dinner served there when in Mumbai, it was really very nice. The Tuscan Grill was nice, and more personal, it is probably worth the premium just for the change of scenery and a very enjoyable steak with an excellent and attentive sommelier. The silent disco was good fun and really enjoyable, so have ago. We had the classic alcohol drink package, which was great unless you wanted specifically to enjoy primary branded drinks and spirits, but if you fancied a special tipple you only had to bay the uplift on over your package allowance. This package also enabled us to enjoy the coffee and tea selection in Cafe Baguio for 11’s with some wonderful pastries. In terms ports of call, Mumbai, Dubai, and Muscat were my favourites taking in the sunset at Sky at Level 143 of the Burj Kallifa a must. The Grande Mosque in Abu Dhabi is a must too. So overall we had a lovely time, but there are some niggles that Celebrity need to improve. This was my first time on Celebrity so expectations from talking to others were high. The test is would I do it again? Assuming Celebrity sort out the Visa situation then Yes, but having been once and learnt how it worked I would certainly be more demanding of the pool butlers and in the San Marco. It would be nice to go back and see that Celebrity have recognised the issues and feed back from myself and others and then to come back and write perfect review. Read Less

Just returned from the Arabian Sea Adventure on Celebrity Constellation. Have to say we were a bit worried by all the reviews after we had booked and many said the ship was tired and well worn. Well, I do not know which part they were looking at, but we found it to be wonderful everywhere. The beautiful coordinated furniture, comfy chairs and multiple lounge areas were superb. (so often there is no where to sit on a cruise ship and coffee shops etc are so full you end up back in your cabin!) We would recommend Celebrity to anyone who wants a truly wonderful ship; fantastic staff; superb food and great staterooms to book with Celebrity. We have not been on other ships in the Celebrity fleet, but will certainly have Celebrity on the top of our future cruise company list before booking elsewhere. (NB: We are not first timers - we have cruised with many other companies and Celebrity certainly comes top with us). The food was exceptional in every area. The Buffet food was great with variety and really good quality food. This was unfortunately marred by seeing other guests who ate wearing just a vest - dreadful; the other restaurants were stunning and it was lovely to have the 'chique' nights too. As a Sky Suite passenger, we were fortunate enough to eat in Lumiere most of the time, which was exceptional in every detail. Plus having Michaels lounge as a little hideaway was truly brilliant. Nadia and her team really made every day a wonderful experience. Read Less

This was to be an Anniversary Cruise. Dubai to India The ship looked great on the outside but inside no WOW FACTOR to greet us nothing like the brochure. It looked tired and dated. The cabins were kept immaculate and the crew worked hard to keep the ship clean clean. The crew were very friendly and cheerful The elevators one of the best bits It was rated as 5* but a 3* was about its limit. Not really a Christmas cruise very low key not what was expected. Poor overall Christmas Decorations one Gingerbread Village in reception and in general dining and a few Christmas Trees and lights The food was adequate but not exceptional in the Ocean View Dining room. Selected Dining was better. The waiters worked very hard. We didn't use the specialty restaurants We had the drinks package and this worked well also the on board spending was ok but the shops were expensive as were the trips. We did our on thing at the various ports. India was very hot and a great experience the train ride was awesome though for this outing we went on paid trip. It was one of the cheapest! It was difficult to find a quiet spot but we did. The roof top for evening cinema under the stairs had too many steps to reach it as I a stiff back. Plenty of towels available loungers could be a problem. The "solarium" salt pool was lovely. Many passengers got nasty coughs due to the air conditioning I believe including my husband. The theatre put on some good shows and the resident band was excellent the Cruise Director tend to be annoying but worked hard . Ashlie Amber the Whitney Huston act was Fantastic. We made the most of the holiday BUT the visa procedure was a nightmare at the 3 Indian ports of call.Indian officials not at all friendly. We chose this cruise for its itinerary, which ended with the F1 . The check in was chaotic, but once on-board that was soon forgotten. Our cabin was at the rear of the ship with a large balcony, this was ideal for our cruising through the Suez canal, offering panoramic views. My personal opinion is that some excursions were over priced but I know others on-board were happy with them. Entertainment was good and varied. No problems with the sunbed but think that was more down to the demographics of passengers. We enjoyed the dining in the main dining room and requested the same location every night as we had an amazing waiter. On previous Celebrity cruises we've struggled to find somewhere to sit at Cafe Al Balcio, this time we never had a problem and enjoyed a coffee while watching the world go by. Would highly recommend this itinerary. Read Less

We did noy stay in Rome before departure as we have visited a couple of times before in depth,so we went straight from the airport to the shipwe did not have a great start here as we were told in baggage reclaim to look out on the left hand side when exciting missed them they were behind a great big pillar we walked around the arrivals and went back to our starting point luckily for us we spotted a fellow cruiser who waved to us and told us the location of the bags deposit to go to the ship(the airport team had there backs to the exit point talking not doing there jobs).Although we had pre checked in it was slow the coach was held back for some 10mins whole process took about an hour. The ship although we found it clean we also found it tired it was supposed to have had a re-fit earlier this year have a look at the carpet in Main Dining it is filthy and threadbare in parts. The cabin we found to be ok everything worked that we used. We went for second seating dining which we also do all the time when cruising we sat sat down everynight apart from 1 night in the Tuscan for our 40th anniversary of which the ship managed to cock up our Reservation. We enjoy the dining we were looked after very well in the most part found the food to be of a high quality and well presented and very good wines to go with the meals. Sorry we are lazy dont do activities(apart from the Quiz)but we foung that both groups on this ship are the best we have seen on any cruise. Service was of a high standard we did not find any negative issues with this. We used the shore excursions in Athens / Petra we found both of high quality with excellent guides (in fact the athens guide a young girl was the best we have ever had in any sort of excursion while on holiday). We used the shore excursion as well in Oman (Muscat Walking Tour) we did not do very much walking to be honest it was on a Bus we did not think this one was good valuse for money in hindsight we would do the Big Bus tour they did a good deal on Oman / Dubai / Abu Dhabi. Dubai / Abu Dhabi we did the Big Bus both run a shuttle from the boat to the kicking off point downtown. Dubai (saturday) chaotic drop of point is the Dubai Mall exremely busy did the mimimum we wanted to do but that was mainly because of the heavy traffic. Abu Dhabi a lot better traffic around the city a lot lighter if you are tight on time do the mosque. Disembarkation was fine off the boat strangley short of taxis outside and the 2 men running this moved the taxi down the rank so people at the head of the queue were overlooked British / Americans / canadians and Scandinavians sonn showed them the erroe of there ways. We stayed a further night in Abu Dhabi at the Dusit Thani fantastic and well appointed Hotel with a fantastic dining experience it is slightly set back from downtown and is pretty isolated but taxis are very cheap here. In all it came to our expectation we booked it for our 40th wedding anniversary and had a great time we made some friends without having to resort to some on board fancy club. Read Less

First but not last cruise with Celebrity. Have cruised before on MSC and decided to try Celebrity. Got a good deal and booked balcony cabin. Cabin is nice. Yes, you can see that it is not new, but everything is working fine and it was spotless clean.Balcony was great. We were in 7180, which had a much larger balcony than others. Location was great, in aft satrboard side and with cabins over and below. The ship is very nice. Bars, pools etc was nice and very clean overall. Loved the rooftop cinema and the Sunset Bar. Shows were great in the first half of the cruise, but then came new artists (a singer from Voice, a trumpet player and an acapella band) and they were really disappointing. Food in the buffet was ok. We had all our dinners at the San Marco restaurant and wow, that was amazing. Food was really delicious. The service we had was outstanding: Our waiter Robert was really good to help and recommend from the menu. He and Ravi, the assistant, was very kind and we never missed anything. The best, however, was our sommelier, Ivan.I've been to many restaurants all over the world, but never had better service when it comes to wine. He was very qualified and friendly. he remembered the wines I had tried and liked and always did that extra effort to serve me the right wine for the chosen meal. I had wonderful wines, all of them and will look for many of them in stores. I hope to meet Ivan again on a later cruise. All in all: Wonderful ship and fantastic service Read Less
