To celebrate our fifth anniversary, my husband and I decided to go on a mediterranean cruise and found a good deal on the Celebrity Constellation with an ocean view cabin, and drinks and gratuities included. The embarkation process went fairly smoothly although there was quite a line. We arrived via train from Rome, and tried to walk all the way to the ship which didn't quite work. Fortunately we found the shuttle to the boat, although it took awhile for the shuttle to get going (and there was no a/c). After arriving in the check-in tent, the lines moved quickly and before long, our luggage was handled and we were boarding the ship. We were greeted with mimosas which was a nice touch. The cabin itself was nicely appointed. The bathroom felt slightly run down, but overall no complaints. The exterior of our cabin window was dirty and we couldn't see well through it, but fortunately that was cleaned by the next day. Dining options were plentiful and we enjoyed the flexible dining option where we ate basically whenever we wanted (but making a reservation a day in advance). Meals were pretty good quality, as expected, but some entrees missed the mark, and the buffets could be hit or miss. Our best dinner was at Ocean Liners, which felt like eating on the Titanic -- so formal and old-timey in the best way. There’s a cafe which we stopped by at least once per day which had great views and delicious lattes. Service across the ship was wonderful. The crew couldn’t have done a better job. Entertainment was better than expected. We had assumed the shows would be cheesy... which some were. But one evening, they had a late night "adult-oriented" show which was actually really impressive, and the talent of the ships' entertainers was way better than I'd anticipated. We actually preferred the on-board entertainment over the special guests. It definitely seemed that there were options for everyone, no matter your taste. The Motown night was especially fun! We enjoyed many gorgeous sunsets, drinks in hand, while others were dining. After dinner, we strolled on the deserted decks, sometimes lying on the deck chairs to look at the Milky Way. Most of the informational sessions for upcoming ports really focused on selling their partnerships with local shops and, of course, the shore excursions. I would’ve preferred the history and interesting facts about those places, so if that’s what you’re looking for, bring a guide book. My biggest piece of advice is to research the ports ahead of time so you know when to book an excursion and to sight-see on your own. We had days in Athens and Santorini on our own, but then a really mediocre time in Sicily since we’d vastly underestimated the transportation options there, and ended up wandering around Messina (which wasn’t so great). All in all, it was a great first cruise experience. We definitely aren’t going to be lifetime cruisers, but I’m sure we’ll go again! Read Less

We had never tried a cruise before and now wonder why we waited so long. We have nothing negative to say, only praise, for the wonderful service, the amazing food, and for the many activities for guests to enjoy. We upgraded to a fine dining package, and then my husband booked another as we so enjoyed being made to feel like celebrities! All in all a fantastic experience. We will definitely book another . One thing I would say is the formal nights were not as formal as I imagined them to be, and a cocktail dress for the ladies and a lounge suit for the men is adequate. Read Less

My daughter and are embarked on our very first cruise this spring on the Celebrity Constellation. We travelled from Nova Scotia Canada all the way to Venice, Italy, where we met our cruise ship. We were in Venice for a good part of 2 days; Dubrovnik, Croatia for 2 days; Kotor, Montenegro; Corfu Greece; Katakolon, Greece; Valletta, Malta and ended our cruise in Rome, Italy. We were in a balcony cabin 7018 which had "partial obstructions". These obstructions were simply the white bracing "posts" on each side - they hardly obstructed our view at all. We were very pleased with our cabin. We loved the Celebrity Constellation. Everyone on board was so very friendly and very quick to please. Captain Tasos had the most hilarious sense of humour. We enjoyed the "banter" back and forth with the cruise director, Mark, during the cruise. The entertainment directors, Shawna and Andreas were quite hilarious as well. We LOVED the Cafe el Bacio coffee shop; the relaxed atmosphere, great staff (Metin and Viktor) and live music at the Rendevouz lounge; the "games", etc hosted by the entertainment team; relaxing on the top pool deck; the Live Production Shows; the wonderful dishes to choose from every evening at dinner; great food at the breakfast buffet; Bistro on Five - banana nutella and mediterranean crepes were delicious! Celebrity did an excellent job at trying to keep everyone sanitized with hand sanitizer stations and "servers" to make sure most people sanitized before going into the eating areas and getting onboard the ship. The ice cold towels and drinks were very appreciated when arriving back on the ship each day after the very "hot" temperatures we experienced during our days in ports. We had the Classic Drink Package, and we had no troubles ordering most anything we wanted. Besides alcohol, it included fresh squeezed juices, basic bottled water, canned pop/soda, the fancy coffees at Cafe el Bacio and more. It was great value! The Live Production shows at the theater were just amazing! We loved the onboard cast of professional musician, dancers and aerialists. Absolutely excellent! We have very few negative comments - My main concern is all the paper that is wasted daily onboard. Every day in every cabin and on every menu, there are thousands of pages of paper printed and wasted. I realize they need to get out their "information", but in this day and age, I firmly believe it doesn't need to be by copying and printing on paper. How about they make the internet prices a lot more reasonable and get out the info that way? Or include the schedules on the TV each day like they have the seapass acct showing? -We would have liked to have seen the early dinner seating a bit later. It was very rushed most days to get ready and be at dinner by 6:15. 6:30-7 would have been quite a bit less rushed. -We liked relaxing in the Rendevouz lounge area after dinner and before the shows most evenings. We found they would have something there; then the entertainment would move up to Reflections lounge or somewhere else....and so on.... It would have been nice if they had kept something going on at each venue, so the people that stayed in one place for a while would continuously have something to watch or listen to. Like I said, we have very few complaints or concerns - we loved our trip on the Celebrity Constellation and will most likely watch for another cruise on her again in the future - Well done, Celebrity!
