We have just returned from our first cruise. We were recommended Celebrity by several friends. We chose this cruise because of the great ports of call. Whilst we had a wonderful holiday, I'm, not sure we will rush to do another. The overall experience was good, but there were too many little grouses. The good: 1. Fantastic staff - almost always helpful, and friendly 2. Plentiful food 3. Large number of great stops 4. Cleanliness 5. Hygiene in eating areas The bad 1. Money - Celebrity's prime purpose on life seems to be to relieve passengers of large amounts of money. 2. Prices were inflated for everything. No bargains - the cheap items on offer were still overpriced, and trashy. 3. No consistency - too often, different people would give different information. 4. Few activities on sea days. A cinema would have been good, but Celebrity got rid of that to make room for more paying passengers. 5. Food in MDR average - better, and more plentiful in Ocean View diner. 6. Overpriced shore excursions. Similar, and cheaper elsewhere, eg via Viator. 7. Crap shows, except where entertainers specially brought in. We walked out of 2. Very disappointing. 8. Formal nights that were not. I had a tuxedo, and felt very overdressed on each of the 3 nights. No enforcement - many passengers did not even have a tie and jacket. If they want formal nights, then enforce it, and make an occasion of it. FNs were no different apart from very few people really dressed up, than any other night. Read Less

I had put off for years cruising, but finally bit the bullet. As we had nothing to compare to, here are the first impressions of the Constellation: 1) Food: the buffet for breakfast was awesome (how can you mess up breakfast?), lunch and dinner were similar every day, without much ethnic variety. The Indian selections were superb. The beverage stations always were out of something, including cups. As to the San Marcos (sit down), the choices were quite limited and sometimes odd. Not very kid friendly. Interestingly, for formal night, there were most men without jackets, many in polo shirts and even shorts. So much for formal night- there wasn't anything special about the dinner, either, so not sure what marked it as "formal." The spa lunch was great. 2) Cabin space: quite tight for a family of four, but the balcony saved us. Bathroom amenities just ok. Very clean. Never had any fancy towels or decorations, seldom saw our attendant. 3). Pools; one (yes one) for everyone, and a smaller one that was heated for adults. 4 hot tubs in community pool. 4). Entertainment: this ship is grossly lacking in things to do for kids, particularly teens. When I spoke to the cruise director, he stated, "really? I think there is enough for them to do." If you count kids roaming the ship in a pack at night as an activity, maybe....the shows were OK, and included a magic show and a ventriloquist (very good). Other things to do? Not much is planned for those who stay behind when you are at port, in fact, the crew all leave, so many things are shut down. All in all, we had a good time, and we will probably try to find another ship that has much more to offer next time in the way of food choices and entertainment. Embarking and debarking was extremely easy and pleasant (we took off our luggage but really didn't need to as customs was quick). Read Less

We wanted to provide positive and negative feedback after completing our Celebrity Constellation cruise 4/5/14 to 4/10/14 from Port Everglades. I hope this feedback will be helpful to potential passengers that choose to book on Celebrity Cruises. Summary: We thought that Celebrity “concierge class” would be a step above the other cruise lines but this is NOT the case. Quite disappointing cruise to be honest. We’ve done 4 cruises (2 on Princess and 2 on Carnival) that ranged from 5 days to 16 days. Overall, we rate Princess and Carnival “higher” in all categories. Negative: 1. Poor quality main dining room service and mediocre food quality during the entire cruise. We had issues with the wait staff at table 312. In addition, Celebrity forgot the “special occasion celebration” for my wife and sister 60th birthday. I filed a complaint with the onboard Concierge (Lisa Alderton). She handled both of the problems in a very professional manner and provided a free upgrade to dinner at the Tuscan Grill (it was lovely). A small token that was greatly appreciated. 2. There were a number of food and beverage quality issues during the entire cruise. A small example… the daily canapés were awful so we stopped ordering. There were no condiments that could be ordered on the room service menu without hand writing in our request. There were no limes (only lemons) available at the bar for cocktails. Really? There are many more issues. I don’t want to go into more details but Celebrity Cruises should be embarrassed about the “product” that they sell and provide to consumers. 3. Photo sessions were lame… dreadful posing and so-so quality produced by the “professional” photographers. We had numerous photo sessions and chose to not purchase any photos. We’ve ALWAYS purchased photos on each of the 4 previous cruises. 4. The ship was launched in 2002 and refurbished in 2010 / 2012. The “older” ship design was not impressive. Upgrades and modifications performed after the original design left the ship confusing to maneuver. The small main foyer was a joke. 5. We will NEVER sail with Celebrity Cruises in the future. We will NOT recommend Celebrity Cruises to our friends or family. Positive: 1. Embarkation and disembarkation were smooth and efficient. 2. Concierge class cabin #8170 and #8172 on the aft of the ship were lovely staterooms. The balcony size and seating furniture were superb. 3. Dinner in the Tuscan Grill was wonderful. Additional per person price is $35.00. 4. The CruCon “special sale” that included the classic beverage package plus the cruise gratuities provided an outstanding value. These bonus items made the cruise tolerable.   Read Less

I am a single traveler, 45 years old, male, and usually willing to pay a bit more for superb service. The cruise was great, but there was nothing particularly "superb" about this cruise. My travel group consisted of 26 acquaintences in 14 cabins, ranging from AquaClass on Deck 9 to Deck 2 with a window. I was in AquaClass, cabin 9100, which was right at the bottom of the stairs, next to the cyber-cafe. Everyone had at least the Classic Beverage Package, and I was on the Premium Beverage Package. The best: The shower tower was wonderful Dinners at Blu were very nice, although not my typical preferred fare The Brunch in San Marcos was very good The worst: Cozumel felt like a depressed third-world country The bar staff was both understaffed and inexperienced The craps table was only open about half the posted casino hours The unexplained: Several AquaClass people didn't have a "pillow menu" in the cabin LGBT meet/greet was removed from the daily schedule and only reappeared when I questioned its disappearance Celebrity literature states that you'll be contacted by your spa concierge when staying in AquaClass. None of us were ever contacted by any spa concierge, in fact I felt like an outsider when I toured the spa on embarkation day. Yes, they asked if I'd be interested in a shave, but then it went downhill from there. I finally turned around and walked out.   Read Less
