we have just returned from the celebrity wine immersion cruise
overall we had a very nice cruise
we met nice people, had a nice dining table
the food was wonderful and service excellent
our cabin was fine although we often heard noises, laughing, and conversations
from cabins nearby
some stuffing had been put in the door between our neighbouring cabin
our cabin girl jennifer remembered us ...
There have already been several quite comprehensive reviews of Constellation and the 'Immersive Wine Cruise' she's sailing. Without repeating too much, here are our impressions.
First up, the Millennium Class Celebrity ships are not as new as the Solstice vessels, but its not all bad. For one thing, they carry fewer passengers and so are less crowded. They have also been 'solsticised' which ...
We travelled to Southampton with inter-cruise coaches,we had to pick it up at Burton Wood services as the one from Leeds was full. it took 6hrs with a 45 min stop and two pickups on the way. but once you hand your luggage to the driver you don't see it again till it arrives outside your stateroom.
This was my first Celebrity cruise, I must say I was not as impressed as I hoped to be, I found ...
A very short little cruise from Amsterdam to Southampton, repositioning the ship before her Wine Cruise season. 2 nights long and just 250 miles travelled.
We used BA Avios airmiles to buy our flights to AMS for £13.50. Took off on time at 7:20 and landed in Amsterdam an hour later. By accident we bought 1st class train tickets for €6.50pp for the 15 minute ride into town. Exit the station by ...
We booked the cruise on a previous trip on Eclipse. We found out a couple of months before the trip, via a Newspaper that we could get the trip for £500 per person cheaper! no one from Celebrity or RCI had contacted us about this, despite the fact that we are Elite members. Not impressed! Anyway, we got onto our Travel Agents and they contacted Celebrity who agreed to the lower price, so that was ...
Cabin was good-sized for an inside and always clean.
Leaving the ship and returning was a breeze.
Nice theatre for viewing movies.
We were never hounded for drinks.
Shore excursions to pricey
In-house entertainment rather than professionals. It was kind of like a high school production.
Zumba on an Xbox? Strange as this seems, there was an attendant who did the warm up. ...
My family (7 of us) took the Celebrity Constellation in the suites category on the Baltic Cruise from Amsterdam. Ship though "refurbished" seemed to show some age as other cruisers have noted. However employees really made an effort to deal with any issues and provided a memorable experience. Especially would single out Frederico "Rickki" Tinampay as Head Butler and Primo and Igusti from ...
This was the second leg of a back-to-back that started with a transatlantic cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Amsterdam. The Constellation is an older ship that badly needs re-furbishing. Nevertheless, the Baltic itinerary is new for the ship and the crew reflected excitement for that reason. Service at all levels was uniformly excellent and professional. The concierge class accommodation was OK, ...
Third voyage aboard Connie. We were eager to see her makeover but a bit disappointed when we did. Stateroom bathrooms lead the gripe list. Replacing towels but failing to tend to rust (rot) spots in grout, tiles, etc. just does not make sense in my book. And it makes the defects stand out very, very clearly.
Reupholstering is nice. But take a moment to find the chairs, couches and other ...
Experienced cruiser in early 30s traveling with my wife, mother-in-law, and parents. Got a pretty good deal on this 14 day itinerary compared to later 2012 14 night sailings on Eclipse.
Cabin
Went with inside cabins as balconies were 2x the cost and smaller than S-class, so we didn't see value in paying up. The cabin was small compared to industry standards, and it showed it's age despite ...
