My wife and I sailed on Celebrity for a second time, the first was 2002 during its inaugural season. This time we decided to go 1st class for our 32nd wedding anniversary by upgrading to a Royal Suite! What a mistake. The cabin itself was dark and furniture was of the 1950's hotel room variety. The room entry had a huge stain and the furniture was dirty and stained. As I mentioned before, we had ...
The itinerary of Celebrity's Baltic & Northern Europe cruise on Constellation is excellent with a good ratio of sea and port days. The cruising experience on the Constellation itself was mediocre for a number of reasons:
- The ship has received a "facelift" but you can tell that it is an older vessel missing many of the amenities and the "flashiness" of newer cruise ships.
- We did not book any ...
We have never sailed on Celebrity cruise ships and sadly will never again! We found the cost of the cruise was very expensive and that everything on board was a "money making business". The crew were great, and the Captain a delight and the ship somewhat "tired" and in desperate need of upgrading. However:
1. Having paid for an upgraded cabin found it very small and suffered bruised legs trying ...
Just completed a 12 day cruise to Northern Europe with Celebrity Constellation. The scenery was interesting and found the restaurant and cabin service staff to be attentive. The food was good in the main restaurant but left a lot to be desired in the cafeteria which I used for breakfasts only. The cabin was adequate but public areas often crowded, it being difficult to get a seat especially on sea ...
We boarded the Celebrity the afternoon of the day we were to set sail. I can understand that the process to clear over 2,000 people must be daunting, but from a passenger's view point, we felt a little like cattle during the boarding process. As we finally boarded tired and anxious to get to our cabins, we were greeted with a one on one sales pitch to purchase meals in one of the specialty ...
We departed May 22nd from Amsterdam on the Celebrity Constellation with 8 in our group. Our cruise was the Baltic states including St. Petersburg, RU.
When we first entered our cabin we noticed the Walmart cheap plastic stained chairs on the balcony. The balcony itself was filthy and included dried paint drippings all around. The railing was in bad need of a refinish job. The varnish on the ...
We just got off a long anticipated cruise to the Baltic on Celebrity Cruise Line's Constellation and the one word that keeps slipping through my lips is "underwhelmed". For my 71st cruise and my partner's first to the Baltic we did a lot of research and settled on this ship for a number of reasons: the itinerary was fantastic, hitting the major ports of the Baltic with ample time in most cities, ...
It is hard to believe that this is the top rated ship. Our observations were entirely to the contrary. The general decor of the ship was worn and tattered. The chair arms were frayed and the carpets showed worn spots and stains. The bar at the edge of the world decor was one of the worst decors we have seen. The ceiling is hanging gauze that looks like tripe(cows stomach)which made it very dark. ...
EMBARKATION: Relatively smooth. Good idea to fill out documents on line make process easier. STATEROOM: The ship is showing her age. Several outlets didn't work and the shower had mildew growing. We were on the 9th floor and the noise from the pool area above us was bothersome. SHIP: The connie has seen better days and is in need of dry docking. Carpets were worn and had spots. Decor was somewhat ...
Background: This was our 13th cruise in the last 3 years, but our first Baltic cruise. It followed a transatlantic crossing on the Celebrity Constellation, so we were constantly comparing the experiences on the two ships. And, frankly, the Constellation came off second best by a large margin.
Travel to Port of Embarkation: We got off the Century in Amsterdam and spent a few days there. The ...
