I booked this particular ship due to the itinerary as it related to the time in port in the three Alaska ports. The hours in port were longer and or better to my liking than the other cruise lines I explored when planning this trip. Overheard: "Oh great... another line to stand in."
Pros:
Clean.
Nice staterooms with good layout.
Cabin steward/staff excellent.
Nice balcony.
Nice connecting rooms for those with kids.
Nice, clean bathrooms.

The ship is very elegant but aging. Our cabin had broken furniture and for Aqua class not very spa like. Our can attentant keep everything very tidy. But we did not receive all perks of our booking. And when there was an issue Guest Services had no desire to help.

We spent a lot of money on this cruise. We were not treated very well by the staff. They were rude and condesending. They gave away our dinner reservations that were made months in advance. They didn't have enough food in the buffet. Lines for food and drinks on the decks were very long. It's like the didn't plan on the ship being sold out. Marterdi was rude. Waiters were rude. My extended family decided on Celebrity Alaska Cruise. This was my first time on Celebrity.
Dealing with website precruise was dreadful. Embarkation was very smooth, so expectation rose, but welcome lunch in MDR for concierge class was a joke. You only had a few lunch options, all of which were terrible. Skip it and go to the Ocean View Cafe.

This was our 2nd cruise to Alaska. We chose Celebrity this time because we never sailed this line before and the perks seemed good as well as a great price for Aqua Class. Also we were going to Skagway where we never went.
