We looked forward to this cruise for several reasons but especially because it gave us the opportunity to cross off several "bucket list" items. The embarkation process in Rome was easy and quick. The ship, one of the newest in the fleet was beautiful and elegant as we expected.
We enjoyed the cabin with one drawback, we were located on deck 12 (top cabin deck) right under the Ocean View ...
I was very disappointed in the Holy Land cruise on November 17, 2012. We never reached Israel due to fighting there. This could be understandable except they repeatedly said there would be no problem 2 weeks before the cruise and while we were sailing to Ashdod. They continually lied to us up until the day we were to arrive.
The food was fine except at one meal we found a piece of dental ...
First-time cruiser -- head read up on all the various things to watch for on cruises, etc. We found ourselves with many experienced cruisers (5 x a year or more) who told us this was an exceptional ship relative to many.
Check-in was fast and efficient with little waiting despite a large number of people arriving when we did.
Disembarkation was no waiting at all -- really ...
We just got back from our 12 day Holy Land cruise aboard the beautiful Celebrity Silhouette. We chose this cruise because of the 4 day stop in Israel and we certainly were not disappointed! The decor of the ship is beautiful, the service was exceptional, the food was very good, and overall Celebrity has proven again to be our favorite of the 5 cruise lines we've experienced. Embarkation and ...
Booked this cruise while on the Eclipse during a Transatlantic voyage. Specifically due to the visitation of Egypt. We were disappointed when Celebrity cancelled Egypt due to the troubles there, but certainly understood.
Flew LAX to Rome on Alitalia. Service was okay but economy was the most cramped of any plane we have been on. Trip to Rome was bearable but coming home was just terrible. ...
The cabin was as described, with great linens, a balcony with an exceptIonal view over looking the wake of the ship when at sea and a sunset half the evenings. However, making it special was our steward,Silvester Perrirea and his assistant who not only quickly filled our requests but did so, again and again without our having to ask. He will be on the Eclipse next season and is worth seeking ...
My wife and I retired at age 49. We have been cruising ever since then and take usually 2 or 3 24+ day getaways a year. We have cruised all lines. In the past 10 years, we have done about 30 cruises. We generally book our own air, using miles when possible, and stay at Starwood Hotels, as we are Platinum in their rewards program.
I am legally blind and also travel with a service dog. She ...
A couple of weeks ago we returned from Holy Land cruise (September 3, 2011 - September 15, 2011). We booked this cruise 3 weeks before sailing through Online Vacation Center and this included cruise, flights, 2 days pre-cruise hotel in Rome, some OBC and all transfers. While the booking process was easy and painless we ran into some issues afterwords. I specifically asked about the location of the ...
As a little background, we are a couple in our 40s with three children and we live in the mid-Atlantic. We also brought along grandma, who is 70 years young. We have been on all four Solstice class ships, and are seasoned cruisers.
We ventured onto the Celebrity Silhouette after spending three and a half days in Rome; and had a lovely time visiting all the sites, with the highlight of our ...
