Celebrity's Cost Cutting Is Not a Pretty Sight

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Celebrity Reflection

What I expect from Celebrity is first class service, excellent ships, excellent food, and so-so entertainment. The service was excellent. The staff was very professional and friendly. No complaints in this department. Getting on and off the ship was very smooth with virtually no waits or delays -- the terminal at Fr. Lauderdale knows what it's doing. The quality of the dining, however, has ...

A great getaway--but Celebrity is in a decline

We enjoyed our cruise, but for the first time since the pandemic (8th cruise since pandemic) we saw a noticeable decline in the quality of the food and food choices on Celebrity. The service overall was outstanding--other than at the buffet---not one time did anyone approach us about getting us a drink during our meal, the selections the one night we went there for dinner was truly awful (and ...

We chose this cruise as a warm weather getaway. We met quite a few cruisers from the north with the same idea. We specifically chose the Reflection as we have sailed on the Solstice many times and loved the ship and exceptional service provided by the crew. Embarkation was very easy. Our assigned time was 11. We arrived on time and were quickly checked in. Took about 10 minutes. We were then ...

For a Celebrity Cruise it was disappointing

This was our 36th cruse and the first in 2 1/2 years due to COVID. We have taken our last five cruises on Celebrity (Equinox and Edge) and looked forward to our return to cruising for the first time on Reflection. Many of the small items expected were missing on this cruise. No champagne upon boarding, mediocre food, passengers smoking in their rooms. no french fries for the first 4 days. Limited ...

A good trip, but a mixed bag

We took this cruise after enjoying a 12-night Baltic Cruise on the same ship in 2019, prior to Covid. The upshot is that whereas before we were certain we would always choose Celebrity, now I'd say we will explore other options while keeping Celebrity as a possibility, though we certainly hope that Celebrity will rebound. A lot of what we experienced is probably related to Covid rebound. On the ...

Not What We Expected. We were excited to cruise after not cruising for 5 years. This cruise was disappointing.

My wife and I were excited to visit Key West and Mexico. Unlike in the past, no photographers to take our photos when we boarded the ship. Photography awful on this cruise. Concierge class stateroom disappointing. Attendant did not offer us the pillow menu. Daily delectable delights disappointing. Sat tray outside our door. Chicken wings, Southern fried chicken, and barbecue served by the ...

Rocking and rolling and early morning noisy

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Reflection

Southern Caribbean cruise was offering 3 of the 5 ports which we hadn’t visited before. 2 sea days up front and 2 sea days returning. 5 port days in a row was tiring, but port 4 we hadn’t booked an excursion (St. Kitts), and we found it was quite a bit nicer than we remembered from 10 years ago. Excursions were booked mostly on our own and one through the ship. All were excellent. I suffer ...

Disappointing

After 12-15 cruises on various lines, we tried a Celebrity Cruise as a nicer ship from the Royal Caribbean ships. While scheduled for a makeover next year, the ship really needs it. cabins were worn and tired and in need of some better housekeeping. My biggest complaint was the entertainment. Having been so impressed on other ships, especially on Royal Caribbean, we were looking forward to ...

Sleepless cruise

Itinerary and ship! Boy were we disappointed in our cabin! 3119. Not sure anyone would know what was was above the ceiling until you were there. We complained to room steward and then management and then guest services. Apparently we weren’t considered an emergency move, which was requested after second day. Such an expensive “sleepless” cruise....so disappointing. Other than our ...

Nice Ship; horrible espresso service

Reflection is a pleasant place never feeling crowded. Pools are small and chilly but that is normal. Dining staff at Blu is business like and distant unless asking for a good review. Aqua class gives easy access to way overpriced spa and silly heated tile covered couches. Aqua class offers little benefit over a standard balcony room. There are lots of small areas for socializing that probably ...
