Definitely Not 5 Star

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Celebrity Millennium

We have recently returned from a cruise to the South Pacific on the Celebrity Millennium which was advertised as a five star cruise The cruise from Sydney to Honolulu via Fiji & Tahiti on the Celebrity Millennium would in our opinion rate as 3 stars at best and this was a case this of false advertising & misrepresentation on the part of Celebrity. We have friends who have sailed with ...

We have to agree with everything the previous people wrote about this cruise on board the Millenium from Sydney in November 2013. The itinery was fantastic but after having done thirty plus cruises with probably all their competitors we thought we would give Celebrity a try. Big mistake! Longest check in ever even though we were Concierge class it took hours. We have checked in at Sydney before ...

We embarked at 4 pm on 2 November at Honolulu with departure scheduled for 11 pm. Luckily we did not try to embark earlier as other passengers told us that there was a total blockage at around 1 pm. Things went downhill from there. A suitcase was still missing at 10 pm when Emergency Drill was announced. The muster station shown on the cabin door was entirely different to that shown on our cabin ...

Tired old Millennium

This review is written with a tinge of regret having cruised with Celebrity six times before and twice on Millennium. But, this could be it for us. Celebrity certainly seems to be lowering its standards and making cut-backs. Or, is it just dumbing down? Pick up a Celebrity brochure and read the effusive and lavish descriptions - particularly about the food - and you will believe you will be ...

Millennium mixed bag - some good things, but can't recommend

Just got off Celebrity Millennium. Here are some plusses and minuses. + Fitness area was well done. + Steam room worked very well (extra cost). - Buffet was poorly thought out. For example, 8 choices of lovely pasta at dinner time but no "meat" entree, no cooked vegetables (except at the stir fry bar, which could only realistically serve 50 people per hour), no fruit. There was a sushi section ...

Celebrity did not live up to expectations...

Celebrity Cruiseline, and more specifically the Millennium are undoubtedly the worst cruise we have EVER taken. The entertainment, cuisine, staff (especially shore excursion staff), and cleanliness on the ship were below average at best, and I feel this is being quite conservative. Here are the issues we faced: Cuisine: The food in the dining room was on most nights average, nothing like the ...

We'd looked forward to our honeymoon with much anticipation. It was our first trip to New Zealand and Australia, and we couldn't wait to get on board and start sailing. Unfortunately, from the minute we boarded, we experienced difficulties on the Millennium. We later found out that the ship was scheduled for dry dock in April, which explained the numerous external signs of disrepair. Windows, ...

Embarkation - We arrived at the dock to drop off our baggage around 12:30pm before returning our hire car. The ship sailed at 6 pm & there were already nearly 1000 people at the dock. We came back at around 2pm & the queue had pretty much gone & it took only about 20 mins to embark. The room was ready. We had a queen bed & a sofa bed for our daughter. The room was nice & the bathroom was clean & ...

Food was terrible!

This was the first time I sailed on celebrity, and it will probably be my last. I booked with them for what I thought was a great deal for an AU/NZ cruise. I usually cruise on Carnival, and I have to say I've experienced much better with them before. I plan to stay away from all RCI related cruise lines. The entertainment also sucked. The comedy shows had few laughs, and there were only 1 or 2 ...
