Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Equinox

We had a great trip, with a few minor anoyances, but nothing that ruined the vacation. Embarkation could have gone smoother. We got married on embarkation day on the ship at the port. Apparently the guest list of my nonsailing guests (sent 30 days prior to sailing with all their required information) did not get turned over from the ship to customs, so none of my non sailing guests, the ...

Stateroom 1647, A2 class, Elite Passengers/Captain's Club My husband and I basically choose our cruises by the ease of boarding and sailing from our hometown of Ft. Lauderdale. We have sailed many a Royal Caribbean cruise and since we are now middle age wanted to get away from so many kids so we chose Celebrity. We are just back from our fourth cruise on Celebrity (two on the Constellation ...

We chose this cruise because a friend recommended it and said it was her favorite cruise line. The itinerary was great and the ship was very clean and the staff extremely friendly. On the negative side, a room that was advertised as having "partial obstruction" really was understating the obstruction. We made the best of it and enjoyed room service breakfast on the balcony, trying not to look ...

Has Celebrity turned the corner or is it just Equinox?

My wife and I are Elite Plus Captain's Club members, have been sailing with Celebrity for 15 years, and had sailed with them almost exclusively since 2008. Over the past couple of years, though, I had become disenchanted with them because of a noticeable decline in service, food quality, and attention to all but suite passengers. In fact, we had booked with another line for a fall cruise but had to ...

The friendliest passengers at sea!

I think the most remarkable thing about this cruise was the friendliness and openness of my fellow passengers! We enjoyed almost of our meals sharing light conversation with others. The cruise director, John, was excellent. Cool and not in your face. Food was okay by me and my husband, but we could be NY snobs as far as food is concerned - and also our last cruise was on Oceania - Riviera ...

We were refugees from a Summit cruise that was chartered out from under us. This was an itinerary we liked for a few new ports - and that was the highlight of our cruise. The sea days were nicely spaced out and overall, we had a great time. Just didn't have a memorable meal the entire time - nothing was really bad, but nothing was especially great either. The entertainment was better than we ...

While my wife and I enjoyed the cruise, it seems to us that Celebrity has slipped a bit since our last cruise with Celebrity. We were on deck six, balcony room 6293 that had an extra large veranda as it overlooked a specialty restaurant roof. The room was "obstructed view" but unless you wanted to look strait down at the water line, the view was fine, and we enjoyed the extra veranda space - ...

Third time should have been the charm

This was our third time on the Equinox and our 12th time on a Celebrity cruise. Needless to say we like these ships and the company. However, there were a few things on this cruise that I wish had gone a bit better. This was our second time in Aqua class (the first was on the Constellation which was retrofitted with Aqua class so the dining room was actually the top right level of the normal ...

Comfortable ship

This was a good size ship. It had a similar design to many other ships by Celebrity. We found the select dining worked well as we could eat when we liked. We only waited in line 5-10 min to be seated, usually sat with another couple. There are different lines depending on your timing. The food was good and the service wonderful. I thought the staff to this ship friendly and exceedingly efficient. ...
