"The Retreat Pool area on this ship is not great as Princess elected to build more staterooms which block the view of the sea as well as create a smaller pool area. Please note that these are my experiences on my January 22nd Apex and January 29th Enchanted Princess cruises...."Read More

1-10 of 23 Western Caribbean Celebrity Apex Western Caribbean Cruise Reviews
I chose Celebrity after having taken their Summit ship this past July out of Bayonne I was very pleased with the product, in particular the energy that was exuded. Something for everyone and a party guy like me.
In addition, I liked that it was adult oriented with no wave surfing or rock climbing.
This is not a Disney cruise (having done that) nor a Royal Caribbean Sovereign of the Seas ...
This was the 26th cruise for me and my husband and our third cruise on Celebrity. For reference, we have sailed on Norwegian, Princess, Carnival, and Royal Caribbean; but mostly RCI.
Embarkation: We arrived 15 minutes before our designated time of 11:30. Embarkation was very quick and we were on the ship within 15 minutes of arrival.
First Impressions: The Apex is a beautiful ship. It ...
We had a sunset veranda cabin on a 7 night western Caribbean cruise. The ship is a work of art with many beautiful venues. Our cabin was comfortable with a spacious deck that fit a table, two chairs and two loungers.
We had a premium drink package and had booked specialty dining on Le Petit Chef, Fine Cut and Edge on the Magic Carpet restaurants. We highly recommend dining at Fine Cut ...
The infinity balcony sounded wonderful which in the reason we booked on the Apex but the reality is a smaller cabin than on the Reflection and you cannot sit out in the balcony if your spouse is in bed sleeping. There is lots of storage in the stateroom but only room for 2 pair of gents shoes on the floor of the closet. There is no flow on decks 3, 4 & 5 you cannot walk from one end to the other ...
Celebrity Comes Close to Getting Me to Switch Loyalties...
As a regular NCL cruiser, I haven’t been on a Celebrity ship in over 15 years. But an offer my wife and I couldn’t refuse had us on the December 23rd sailing of the Celebrity Apex. We had just been on a 5 day cruise on the Norwegian Prima literally a week earlier for their December 16th sailing, so making comparisons was inevitable. ...
As the headline reads. Such a great ship in general. It just has a very awkward flow to it. It doesn't FEEL like a ship you can just easy flow around having a good time like so many other ships in the RCCL family including ships like the Solstice etc.
PROS:
Food in Main dining
Pool is large
Modern design everywhere
Buffet is well laid out and diverse
Coffee and specialty coffees ...
We originally booked this cruise to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, but due to covid, it was delayed for nearly two years and despite wanting to replicate our very first cruise with Celebrity, now 27 years ago, the route was changed. Nevertheless we wanted a Celebrity ship. In our early days of cruising, we always chose Celebrity, but for the last 15 years plus we have sailed on every ...
Mostly good things here but a few critiques as well.
We had a bad experience the first night at Cypress (food not the service) and the hostess there recommended we try Cosmopolitan on Night 2. We did and when we arrived somehow they knew who we were! The manager, Marlon, is just a jewel. Wow, what a great guy -- so personable and in charge. He asked Jason (also amazing), an assistant ...
Our trip began in Tallahassee on November 25th when we drove to Ft. Lauderdale the day before our cruise. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn ($268/night) In Dania Beach. The next day we left the hotel at 9:45 a.m. for the port and, after dropping off our luggage, we parked at the port in the Palm Garage near the terminal ($15/day). The garage has automated payment of parking fees, so take the ...
We started off by coming to Fort Lauderdale a couple of days early and we stayed at the Hilton Marina. First, the review of that hotel: we would stay there again as the rooms were nice and the location was excellent due to its proximity to the cruise terminal. I wouldn't recommend eating there as the food was expensive and the service was not great, although the coffee bar in the lobby was ...
