This cruise on the Celebrity Eclipse was booked for two couples and their adult daughters. This was our third European cruise and well into double digit cruises if we include Caribbean/other cruises. For this price range, I feel that everything should be in Tip-top shape. Celebrity's ship are way over due a facelift. I know that they are planning them, but I feel that the next year or so while we wait, I may try another cruise line, a newer ship.

The good, the bad and the ugly.

Service in the dining room and the food were excellent.

We complained about the torn linen and holes in the curtains - attached please see the generic response from the hotel manager - the linen and curtains were immediately replaced BUT the new curtains had even more holes and the linen was once again torn.

So much of this cruise was a disappointment. First dining room service and room steward were excellent, food delicious. The rest of the experience was below average. 4 sea days with few planned activities. The itinerary is why we chose this cruise to see Iceland and spend time in Dublin. We flew into Dublin 4 days early so we had plenty of time exploring the city, took tour to Northern Ireland to see Giant Causeway (wonderful) and enjoyed the restaurants and pubs including Guinness tour.

We cruised with Celebrity May 28 - June 7 on Celebrity Eclipse to Ireland, Iceland and Shetland. This was our 3rd cruise with Celebrity and was very disappointed with the service. Unfortunately there were a lot of sea days which made the bad service feel even worse.

we took this cruise because the itinerary appealed to us. We were not disappointed. The cruise met or exceeded(Shetland Islands) our expectations. Our only regret: not enough time allowed for Dublin prior to cruise. Stayed two nights at the North Star hotel before boarding the ship. We flew to Dublin for a 2 day pre-cruise stay and had a wonderful time. The taxi to the port for embarkation cost around 20 dollars for the late departure. We had never been on a cruise which left so late but it was nice to have another full day in Dublin. We had always wanted to see Iceland and saw this itinerary while aboard Eclipse in the Caribbean. So glad that we did! The weather was quite cold and wet -- this is Iceland, people -- but the scenery was amazing. We even got above the Arctic Circle. Loved the ports in Shetland, Cork and Belfast.
