We are seasoned cruisers with 47 under our belt. We love cruising and it is obvious by having a majority of our vacations since 1995 have been on the high seas. Eleven have been with Celebrity and this has been our third on the Summit. The last time was in August 2014.
• Embarkation – Being from northern New Jersey we love the convenience of Cape Liberty. They have been making continuous ...
The good:
We absolutely loved the overall changes in decor on the Summit.
Truly beautiful.
Staff - amazing!!
Luminae continues to be great!
The Retreat lounge became our favorite place, and the servers in there - Alexandra and Ruslana were literally our favorite people on the entire ship.
The bad:
*Entertainment continues to be weak on Celebrity. The high point was the ...
The weather was perfection and the ports were also amazing. It is so nice to be in Bermuda multiple days - if you haven't done a multi-day port yet, you should. It is so different when there is no pressure to get back to the ship.
This ship is ship shape and one of the VERY few ships in the world to get a 100 score in regards to health/cleanliness. It shows. The staff is great.
Where are ...
We chose it because of the 3 days in Bermuda. It was great. Also loved Bar Harbor and Boston. I did not like that they have eliminated the card room. Met Mah Jongg players on cruise critic but there was no place with a table big enough to play except in the buffet. Very awkward. I loved the captain’s talk on how the ship works. Very interesting. But, I wish there were more experts on board to ...
Wanted to visit Bermuda again and the New England ports. Also wanted to go on this ship after the refurbishment.
They have made a super job of refitting the staterooms and communal rooms. Everything looks fresh and clean.
Entertainment was overall good, and the production crew were the best, although they have now moved on to other contracts. The staff were all happy and smiling as usual and ...
Before the cruise, I had read a number of reviews here and elsewhere. Seemed that most people enjoy their experience and I say that I did enjoy the cruise when the following wasn't brought into the picture:
1. Food Quality - not what I was expecting at all - the food was not bad, but at the same time not great. Some examples: Turkey used in the club sandwich is pressed and processed so was the ...
The best term to describe this cruise is "uneven." Some aspects of the cruise were quite good, and others unbelievably bad.
The Good:
1. The Silhouette is spotlessly clean. I don't remember seeing any area of the ship that needed attention.
2. In my opinion, Murano is one of the best restaurants on any cruise ship. My brother and I had dinner there three times, and truly enjoyed each ...
We are Elite Captain's Club members but we felt that there was little recognition given on this cruise. Our "priority embarkation" was no faster than the normal embarkation. We tried the Elite "coffee club" breakfast twice enticed by the offer of quality coffee but found harried staff, poor service, crowded venues, and poor coffee. The recognition event was pretty uninspired - does Celebrity think ...
We had a really bad storm in the Atlantic that necessitated changing the itinerary we ended up with 10 sea days where 9 of these days it was impossible to go on deck. There was not enough to do No Bridge Director leaving at least 60+ guests very disappointed also very few quizzes 1 music and the daily progressive and the odd trivia certainly not enough for a full ship stuck inside for 10 days. I ...
We have always wanted to sail into New York passed the Statue of Liberty. It was a wonderful experience and were not disappointed! Leaving New York at night was spectacular.
We haven't sailed with Celebrity for two years. We felt there had been a slight decline in the overall experience since our last trip.
Our main gripe was all the "nickel and diming" we were constantly subjected to. The ...
