We are seasoned cruisers with 47 under our belt. We love cruising and it is obvious by having a majority of our vacations since 1995 have been on the high seas. Eleven have been with Celebrity and this has been our third on the Summit. The last time was in August 2014.

The good:
We absolutely loved the overall changes in decor on the Summit.
Truly beautiful.
Staff - amazing!!
Luminae continues to be great!
The Retreat lounge became our favorite place, and the servers in there - Alexandra and Ruslana were literally our favorite people on the entire ship.

The weather was perfection and the ports were also amazing. It is so nice to be in Bermuda multiple days - if you haven't done a multi-day port yet, you should. It is so different when there is no pressure to get back to the ship.
This ship is ship shape and one of the VERY few ships in the world to get a 100 score in regards to health/cleanliness. It shows. The staff is great.

We chose it because of the 3 days in Bermuda. It was great. Also loved Bar Harbor and Boston. I did not like that they have eliminated the card room. Met Mah Jongg players on cruise critic but there was no place with a table big enough to play except in the buffet. Very awkward. I loved the captain’s talk on how the ship works. Very interesting. Wanted to visit Bermuda again and the New England ports. Also wanted to go on this ship after the refurbishment.
They have made a super job of refitting the staterooms and communal rooms. Everything looks fresh and clean.

The best term to describe this cruise is "uneven." Some aspects of the cruise were quite good, and others unbelievably bad.

1. The Silhouette is spotlessly clean. I don't remember seeing any area of the ship that needed attention.

We are Elite Captain's Club members but we felt that there was little recognition given on this cruise. Our "priority embarkation" was no faster than the normal embarkation. We tried the Elite "coffee club" breakfast twice enticed by the offer of quality coffee but found harried staff, poor service, crowded venues, and poor coffee. We had a really bad storm in the Atlantic that necessitated changing the itinerary we ended up with 10 sea days where 9 of these days it was impossible to go on deck.
