Great Itinerary, BUT.....

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

First time sailing Celebrity. We wanted to go to Antartica (but not on an expedition ship). The itinerary was great! However, we missed the Falkland (Malvinas) Island stop due to it being a tendered stop and the weather was not great (or so they said). That created a little too many sea days all together. I'll try to sum up this review quickly: POSITIVES: Antartica/penguins/icebergs - ...

Infinity South America

We took this cruise for the South America itinerary (Buenos Aires to Valparaiso). It has been several years since we have been on a Celebrity cruise. All in all, we had a wonderful trip. There were some negatives. The ship is tired and needs a lot of maintenance. When we arrived in our balcony stateroom, there was a light bulb burned out, a broken drawer in the closet and the safe would not ...

This was a fantastic itinerary. antarctica. warning it is a bunch of sea days. even for us. glad we did not do the adventure ships. they really got clobbered by weather. it was cold and windy. and being on a big ship was perfect. we had a veranda. a must for this. of the four trips celebrity made to antarctica in 2023 we had the all time best trip. drake was like glass. no clouds. ...

Great itinerary, sad ship

First off, let me say I am a somewhat experienced cruiser who has been sailing since 1998 on various cruise lines( 25 total trips), including Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, MSC and Celebrity. I have sailed 5 times with Celebrity, and have 4 more trips booked at the moment. The Infinity was in the poorest condition of any CCL ship I have sailed on. This ship really shows her age. Rust ...

Always love Celebrity - Did not enjoy this itinerary

Review for a South America Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

Everything onboard Celebrity is always great, but this itinerary was not my favorite. The people onboard were also different as there was a huge mix of Argentina/EU/Americans, etc. People from all over the world that spoke other languages. Everything in the ports was just far to get to as it is such a remote place in the world. The days of cruising were excellent and would definitely recommend ...

Great ship, disappointing food, underwhelming scenic experience

Review for a South America Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

This was our 3rd cruise; the previous cruises were with Oceania and Seabourn on much smaller ships and apparently in a higher class of luxury. We had never been to South America before and were hoping for some spectacular scenery. We were disappointed. The itinerary featured a cruise through the Beagle Channel to Ushaia and later through the Straits of Magellan on the 500th anniversary of ...

The ship is beautiful, itinerary great, food & entertainment disappointing.

We chose this cruise for the itinerary, which was Argentina, Uruguay and Chile, including sailing around Cape Horn and Straits of Magellan. It was a 14-night cruise. The Eclipse is a beautiful ship that is elegantly furnished. The staff provided outstanding service, especially our room attendant and wait staff in the main dining room. We were really disappointed in the quality of the ...

Some Good and Bad aspects of this cruise

Firstly, we are not cruisers and chose this cruise because we wanted to visit South America for the first time. On immediate embarkation we were met with a fairly hard sell with regard to drink and dining packages. A lot of people had been travelling for 20 + hours and we questioned whether this was really necessary at that time. It just seemed a money making exercise. Surely, it might be ...

Loved the Antarctica......

We chose the cruise for the Antarctica cruise. It was definitely well worth it. The dining room staff was excellent. The ice cream was excellent. The cruise director Giuseppe was fantastic. Where does he find the energy? Captain Leo was superb. "Life is beautiful !" So, the shops said the cruise lines did not receive their shipment of 'Antarctica' items in time. Since ...

antarctica - interesting destination alcoholic beverages prices outrageous. wine packages totally overpriced. food nothing to write home about but not bad. friendly personnel. “captain michael” should visit a speech class to learn proper english pronounciation. entertainment better suited for young hip - hop crowd, latin entertainers ( cruise director etc) are not a good choicme foer ...
