Bermuda beaches great, Summit just Ok

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Celebrity Summit

This was my third Celebrity Cruise, although my last was 8 years ago and I definitely noticed some changes. We were in a Aqua Class Cabin, #9081, this trip. I was disappointed in quite a few things. They advertise a spa shower with multiple shower heads but since the ship was refurbished, they took that out and it’s just a regular shower. It is a very tight fit, the grab bar is positioned such ...

This was my 3rd cruise on Celebrity, and somewhere near my 17th cruise (most on RCCL, with experiences on NCL and HAL). My mom (60’s) and myself (30s) have tried to take a mother/daughter cruise every summer since I graduated college and look forward to this every year. We sailed on the Summit last year to Bermuda and quickly agreed it was the best port to go to and we had such a blast on the ...

Husband chose this cruise for his birthday trip this year. Flying to Bermuda and getting a nice hotel room was much more expensive. We sailed the Summit in Oct. on it's repositioning from Bayonne to San Juan (before the face lift). We had an Aqua room on deck 11. Liked the changes they made, plenty of outlets for charging and electronics in the room. (Note: You are not allowed to bring on ...

What a Letdown...And We Were Really Looking Forward to this Ship!

We have been on at least 30 cruises and have sailed with Celebrity 7 times prior to this cruise. We were very excited to sail on the Edge as it seemed like it was going to bea bit different from other ships...well, it was...and not in a good way unfortunately. We booked the 15 night Transatlantic cruise beginning on 4/28. First off, embarkation was a breeze! We booked an infinite ...

We are long time Celebrity cruisers (8 different ships) starting in 2009. We have also done cruises on Princess, NCL, Carnival and Cunard and were travelling with an older neighbour friend and her married daughter. My wife and I liked our Deck 11 concierge stateroom. New balcony format adds lots of room and especially for baggage storage when you are packing/unpacking. Window opening does ...

Embarkation was very slow in a very hot hall. Our cases came quickly and our room attendant was very efficient and pleasant. Our cabin was spacious very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean although the towels had seen better days. The ship was very clean and had plenty of things to do. I thought the entertainment was only mediocre especially compared to other ...

Currently writing this in our cabin on the l2th day of a 13 night cruise. This is our 4th cruise in the past 12 months but our first with Celebrity. We chose this cruise basically because it was a Transatlantic which ended in Southampton, England. Embarkation was the slowest of our 4 recent cruises. We waited for ever in line to check in. I think lots of other lines were moving quickly because ...

We are Elite Captain's Club members but we felt that there was little recognition given on this cruise. Our "priority embarkation" was no faster than the normal embarkation. We tried the Elite "coffee club" breakfast twice enticed by the offer of quality coffee but found harried staff, poor service, crowded venues, and poor coffee. The recognition event was pretty uninspired - does Celebrity think ...

We had a really bad storm in the Atlantic that necessitated changing the itinerary we ended up with 10 sea days where 9 of these days it was impossible to go on deck. There was not enough to do No Bridge Director leaving at least 60+ guests very disappointed also very few quizzes 1 music and the daily progressive and the odd trivia certainly not enough for a full ship stuck inside for 10 days. I ...

Nice, not great, not fantastic...

Before the cruise, I had read a number of reviews here and elsewhere. Seemed that most people enjoy their experience and I say that I did enjoy the cruise when the following wasn't brought into the picture: 1. Food Quality - not what I was expecting at all - the food was not bad, but at the same time not great. Some examples: Turkey used in the club sandwich is pressed and processed so was the ...
