My wife and I are in our early 50s and have only been on one cruise before this one to Bermuda. We did not enjoy our first experience cruising (Carnival) at all but decided to give it another chance when we saw this great deal to sail on the Summit out of NJ. After we booked, I found CruiseCritic. To be very honest, I became extremely nervous after reading many of the reviews.
I read that ...
I was exceptionally pleased with the Celebrity Summit from the ease of getting on the ship (arrived at dock at 10:30 and was on the ship by 10:45 AM) to debarkation. The service was excellent and the food was delicious The entertainment by the cast from the Summit was excellent. I didn't attend the magician or comedian nights. This was my 10th cruise and I definitely was pleasantly surprised ...
Choose this cruise for convenience out of NJ and destination of Bermuda.
Not happy with the ship design - was lacking an open atrium - the Grand Foyer felt confining - not an open feel at all.
In our cabin, I had a welcome bottle of champagne - no ice - I had to ask several times the first day to get the ice. I had also brought my own bottle - other days it was better getting the ice to ...
This was our 4th cruise with Celebrity, and 2nd on the Summit. First time out of NJ and 1st trip to Bermuda. Yes, things can get a little "rocky" crossing the Atlantic to Bermuda, but this really did not bother us (a lot of people had on the patches, but not us). Yes, we had a little rain on/off throughout the cruise (so find things to do inside instead). But regardless, Celebrity (and for the ...
We chose Bermuda because my husband had never been there, and also because we were able to drive to NJ from VA, this being a last minute booking. We were in a Concierge Class cabin #8050. While Celebrity touts Elite member benefits, as well as Concierge Class benefits, we found these to be somewhat lacking on our cruise. Priority embarkation was non-existent, main dining room reservations were a ...
The service staff on the Summit was outstanding, a distinctive improvement over previous cruises on this ship. We submitted written compliments for several of the crew. Our cabin steward was excellent and made ever effort to make our time enjoyable in our cabin.
The quality of the entertainment on the Summit has dropped significantly. The comedians in the Theater were occasionally humorous, ...
I sailed with my family and some friends for the first time on the Summit in late July. We've sailed on Norwegian and Carnival before, and enjoyed them very much. We wanted to try Celebrity this time because we've heard of their "premium food" and "classy ambiance"; though we couldn't really tell why people said it.
The Bayonne port is quite nice. It was quiet and moved much quicker than the ...
Celebrity Cruises are truly our Number One cruise line. I've sailed on over 100 cruises on every cruise line out there. are cabin location means more to us then the food. celebrity's crew is friendly and the accommodating. our room steward Michael is a "STAR", Captain Alex was most entertaining. He words of wisdom each day were and inspiration to us all. Captain Theo. when we last sailed on the ...
Celebrity honored us on this cruise for attaining Zenith status in the Captain's Club. The Captain and his senior staff were very gracious in their remarks and hospitality to us and our family. It was very nice to be recognized for being loyal to Celebrity Cruises.
This was our 6th sailing on the Summit and we were pleased to see it has been well maintained. The conversion of the Normandy ...
It definitely shows it's age. It was a week long cruise. All 7 days, breakfast was exactly the same menu. Lunch was 80% same menu. Dinner was probably 75% same menu. Got sick of the food. Most food items didn't even taste good.
Stateroom service was very good. The attendant was very pleasant, friendly and was awesome.
This is not really a family cruise. Most activities were geared towards ...
