We were looking forward to our first time sailing with Celebrity having previously tried P&O, Ambassador and Cunard (mainly TA on current QM but 1 med cruise on current QE) On TA crossings several people we've spoken to have commented that Celebrity's food was much better than Cunards so we were especially looking forward to the dining. We've always enjoyed the food on Cunard and found Ambassadors ...
Mostly enjoyed our second trip on the Silhouette. Food and entertainment were great and staff very friendly and helpful. The staff member for our room he could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Unfortunately for the second time (we have only had two cruises!) we both contracted COVID which ruined the last couple of days (I was unable to visit Bayeux - the highlight of my trip). Upon ...
We toured on Silhouette’s sister ship Reflection last May and based on this experience and the itinerary chose Celebrity again.
At all times any staff we encountered were enthusiastic, interested and as helpful as we could wish for.
All breakfasts in any of the settings we tried were outstanding
During the cruise we ate dinner in Murano and the Tuscan Grill, both were ...
Our cruise started off in Reykjavik, Iceland. Much of the info regarding this trip on the internet was wrong. Many writers said that to get from the airport to the center of Reykjavik was difficult. That was wrong. There are buses exclusively for transportation from the airport to the city center at approximately $30 pp. Others said that from the central bus stop to your hotel was an easy walk. ...
This itinerary looked very good on paper. The reality did not quite live up to the billing. We have cruised with Celebrity before in the Mediterranean and had a very good experience. In addition, we have sailed on the Apex before in the Caribbean and enjoyed the experience. We are far from cruise virgins.
Our infinite veranda room was very nice and the service more than adequate. The dining ...
Iceland was always on my bucket list and Iceland did not disappoint. I highly recommend visiting this unique company.
What was a disappointment was the cruise. The design of the ship is such that you need to book a suite or penthouse in order to see the amazing scenery looking forward. In the past, ships we have travelled on had a bar/lounge at the front of the ship up top for unlimited ...
The ship is beautiful and modern. We were supposed to start and end in Amsterdam, but it was changed to Rotterdam. Boarding was easy, disembarking was a disaster. The terminal was too small for all the passengers. It was pouring rain with some suitcases left in the rain waiting to be claimed. There was no where to wait outside for transports without getting soaked in the rain. We were made to ...
This was our 5th cruise with Celebrity.
The embarkation process was incredibly efficient and our best experience of it yet.
The ship was full (probably because of school half-term holidays - the children were very well behaved and no problem at all) and getting a table in the main cafe was always difficult for breakfast and lunch. The food at lunchtime and breakfast was excellent, although ...
This was my 1st time with celebrity. Was expecting my experience to be a cut above the rest. If did not live up to expectations in virtually all departments. I'll start with a positive:- our balcony cabin was a good size, clean and comfortable. Only complaint was from my wife that when underway there was mechanical noise which disturbed her sleep, personally it did not bother me.
Restaurant ...
Chose Celebrity Silhouette as previously sailed on Eclipse several times.
For my wife and I this was a disappointing cruise in that the ship failed to deliver in many areas for us.
Embarkation excellent and very quick. Stateroom in good condition and well maintained by our steward Richard.
Balcony itself showing heavy rut marks though we could live with that.
Rooms are technologically ...
