The ship and rooms are very nice. The staff in general very friendly. BUT,!
The customer service and organization is poor. Over priced excursions, so most book through someone else. We cruised Australia and had 4 ports that used Tenders to shore. The Tender process was terrible, wait times of 1-2 hours to get on a tender, 30 minute boat ride and then the piers were 30 mins from town. ...
We were very excited to board the Celebrity Edge for our post-wedding cruise. We had recently been on one of the millennium-class ships, but the new edge class looked so much more impressive and appealed more to our sense of style. In anticipation we had watched all kinds of videos, and read all kinds of reviews on what to expect.
In person it is just as stunning as we had expected, and the ...
Cruise ruined by very poor organisation to leave ship .have been in the queue for 20 Minutes. Not even half way. Queue snakes around dining room and two corridors.
This is the situation in Wellington but getting back on in Dunedin nearly as bad.
Do not seem to be organised or bothered. Quite happy for passengers to queue for 45 minutes to get off a ship
Food has been of a high standard ...
The three positive points of the boat, the very nice cabins, the very helpful staff, the very good quality of the food (a little too salty) at the buffet. It is better to avoid restaurants which are crowded and where you wait and where you do not benefit from the beautiful view of the buffet.
The entertainment is very very very poor, the basic Internet package is lousy and you have to pay 45 ...
My husband and I are longtime Celebrity cruisers, enjoying the Zenith long before the cruise line was purchased by RCCL. We’ve sailed on the Edge on three prior trips as well as sailing on the Apex and the Beyond. When we began planning this trip another couple asked if they could join us because they know we are Celebrity fans. We did have a fabulous cruise and loved each of the ports at which we ...
We chose this cruise because it hit the ports we wanted and we had 2 previous cruises on Celebrity that were good. It's a mid line cruise company.
First, never again 3,000 passengers. We would meet people and never see them again.
Second, that's art? A whole black room with pillars called a work of art. Blech! Goop dropping out of a picture frame, piles of metal welded together? Not ...
Edge sailed to NZ and Australia. Chose it for itinerary. We are 75 year old retired teachers who have sailed over 150 cruises. Poor use of space. One night there was some dancing in the Club and many couples danced. Cruise director was asked about reassigning one of the dance bands to the Club…no change. If you like to sit and listen to music, eat, drink, and have large amount of people almost ...
Positives:
• Beautiful, new ship. The bathroom is excellent; shower has a clear, perspex, bubble screen.
• The infinite balcony is attractive; the top part can be lowered if required. However, the bar across the middle is exactly at eye height when sitting and the glass is very dirty.
• Entertainment for the first half was excellent; the second half not good.
• Quality of meals ...
Let’s start with the positives:
We haven’t sunk (yet).
Food variety in the main buffet is good.
Eden bar is very nice.
And now the negatives:
Celebrity continue to cost-cut on quality and ‘nickel-and-dime’ everything.
Consistently tepid food in the main buffet and, surprisingly, in the main restaurants.
Insufficient waiting staff in the bars.
Classic drinks package includes ...
Spectacular holiday. everything from the insane selection of foods through to very attentive staff across all departments. Captain and cruise director were engaging, funny and informative and what can we say about the wait staff in each of the 4 dining rooms and the cafe.
Our room attendant was just brilliant
This was our second Celebrity cruise and won't be our last.
You can take soft ...
