We bought the Celebrity Always Included package, which includes the classic beverage package, basic wi-fi, and gratuities. Works out well for us, although we did find a wine we liked better which was not completely covered by the package so we paid $4 extra a few times. Reminder that all prices are in US dollars.
Dining in the main dining room Moonlight Sonata- stuffed in like sardines. ...
We had already decided to make the best of the cuts to our itinerary (7 stops down to 4), as this was our firstcruise in 3 years, and we were also introducing our friends to cruising!
The ship is beautiful, yes, you can see she needs some work, general areas need some refurbishment, chairs need reupholstering, but she is still lovely!
Boarding was amazing! We were to board at 12, and were ...
We chose this cruise because we had sailed pre Covid with Solstice and had had a wonderful time.
However, this cruise was extremely disappointing and we will never choose this line again.
These are some of the reasons,
Mask wearing was barely encouraged for passengers and was minimal.
The staff all wore them. However, Covid was spreading as a result. Two out of our party of eight ...
We've been on the Eclipse several times, and this is our 7th Celebrity Cruise (of 9 total), so we knew what to expect.
As any performance review, I'd mark this experience as "as expected". Not five star great, but not two star bad.
Food was fine (we travel with someone who while not a "foodie" knows what he likes, and he liked the food), from the Oceanview Cafe (good selection, but as I've ...
We were using up a credit and this was the easiest cruise to get too. Cruising for us is mainly focused on the good beds and the variety of the eating venues. Both scored *. The bed was the worst we have ever tried to sleep on. Thin hard mattress, very uncomfortable. The free restaurants were the Oceanview Cafe Buffet , always the same menu with minor variations, dessert menu had lots of lovely ...
Well it all started rather badly. We were booked in for our 'medical' at Sydney Cruise terminal at 12 noon. We were told NOT to arrive early and being responsible people arrived on time. Only to be greeted by around 3000 other people all trying to get on the ship at the same time. It was chaos! One poor guy was going around with a hand held speaker trying to get people moving, but nobody could ...
Unfortunately perhaps our expectations were too high, this ship is tired.
The embarkations and disembarkations were chaotic to say the least, including assembling for excursions. This itinerary had many sea days and not enough variety of public spaces. The coffee shop was extremely popular probably because it was one of the few places to visit. The observation lounge was completely under ...
In September and October 2022, we sailed on the Eclipse from Vancouver to Hawaii, and Hawaii to Sydney (back-to-back cruises), being our 5th and 6th cruises on Celebrity Solstice and Eclipse. Overall, it was a good cruise and our room steward, the bar staff and the dining staff were all great. The food was lovely too. We still love the ships but feel there were numerous shortcomings. During ...
I have read a review by Msglodenhair and agree with most of her review of her on board experience, of the ship and the captain and crew.
However prior to embarkation, I had attempted to register on the Celebrity email log on pages that my wife was Gluten intolerant and that she would need a Gluten free diet. Having cruised in the Princess and P & O lines, that was a simple option to highlight ...
We flew from London to Auckland via Emirates. Everything ran as per schedule and we arrived in New Zealand 3 days prior to the cruise. It took about an hour or so to go through immigration and customs before leaving the airport. However apart from usual bag checks no other checks like temperature monitoring were being carried out at the airport. We were transferred to our central Auckland hotel ...
