Disappointing

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

We are seasoned cruisers, and this was our sixth Celebrity Cruise. We were looking forward to the same Celebrity experience we've had previously on other ships, however we were disappointed overall with the offering on the Eclipse. Let's start with the positives, and what went well: 1. The solarium pool was a very enjoyable space that we used a lot. We never struggled to find an empty deck ...

Would I sail on Eclipse again???

Myself and my wife selected this cruise which would offer the opportunity to visit countries not seen before (with the exception of New Zealand). Overall, there were highs and lows (quite a lot, actually). As follows: Highs: Entertainment - actually pretty good. Bearing in mind that not all the performances (around 45 minutes) would suit every taste, we found most to our liking. Very stylish, ...

This cruise was selected for the itinerary. It went to all the South Pacific islands that we wanted to visit. We mostly dined at the main dining room. The waiters and food were excellent - could not fault the service. We dined at the Oceanview Café, which is a buffet style, at times and while the selection and quality of food was also excellent, we found it to be far too busy for us and we ...

Eclipse is really falling short

In Sept. 2021 we cruised the Apex. It had only been sailing since June, great ship, service, food, and shows. Eclipse not so much. In fact, because of our b2b2b we will not sail with Celebrity again. On Jan. 14 we started on Eclipse to do the Fiji islands (12 night) then New Zealand (12 night) and finished with Australia wine tour (9 night). To start with the staff was amazing, always working ...

Our Celebrity first cruise

We bought the Celebrity Always Included package, which includes the classic beverage package, basic wi-fi, and gratuities. Works out well for us, although we did find a wine we liked better which was not completely covered by the package so we paid $4 extra a few times. Reminder that all prices are in US dollars. Dining in the main dining room Moonlight Sonata- stuffed in like sardines. ...

Suite - Nice but noisy

For our first cruise, we chose to go around New Zealand. We are Australian so we liked the Sydney departure. We sprung for a suite to avoid waiting in queues. The Retreat exclusive restaurant with fewer people also appealed to us as a way of reducing chances of contracting a virus. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Suite is satisfactory. Food is very good. Our one issue is ...

Rather disappointing New Zealand Christmas/NY cruise

This was our 47th cruise and16th with Celebrity. Overall, it was an enjoyable cruise (something would be really wrong if a cruise isn’t). The ship has been kept in good condition, everywhere was spotlessly clean with cleaners working consistently around the ship. Mostly the crew were pleasant and helpful. We’ve done this itinerary Sydney-Sydney around New Zealand a couple of times, so chose ...

Not quite up to Celebrity Standards

We love to go cruising for Christmas and this was our third one with Celebrity. First was Celebrity Century to South Pacif and second was Celebrity Constellation, Singapore to Dubai. Both were excellent and thoroughly enjoyed everything about them. But even though we still had a good time on our New Zealand Christmas Cruise, it was nowhere near as good. The boarding process was excellent and we ...

Relaxing cruise despite an inferior itinerary

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

We had already decided to make the best of the cuts to our itinerary (7 stops down to 4), as this was our firstcruise in 3 years, and we were also introducing our friends to cruising! The ship is beautiful, yes, you can see she needs some work, general areas need some refurbishment, chairs need reupholstering, but she is still lovely! Boarding was amazing! We were to board at 12, and were ...

Second Rate, poor value for money

We chose this cruise because we had sailed pre Covid with Solstice and had had a wonderful time. However, this cruise was extremely disappointing and we will never choose this line again. These are some of the reasons, Mask wearing was barely encouraged for passengers and was minimal. The staff all wore them. However, Covid was spreading as a result. Two out of our party of eight ...
