The food in Cafe Blu was horrible. I am a plant eater mostly. My choices were limited and tasteless. My husband found the meats in the Ocean View Cafe to be over cooked. I have noticed on our last 3 cruises with Celebrity that the quality of food has gone down. The entertainment has always been slow, but enjoyable. However, during this cruise the entertainment was unimaginative. I felt like the ...
There were many things to recommend about the trip/ ship, but a few things you should know.
First, the good. The entertainment was pretty great. My cabin was just fine. The specialty restaurants had great food. The buffet was pretty good. The acupuncturist seemed excellent. A couple of the parties were very fun and memorable - like the one for crossing the equator - blackness all ...
We chose this eleven night cruise as it suited two key elements, the first being it matced up with our vacation time and secondly it departed and returned from our home port Sydney Australia.
This was our first cruise since December 2019, so we were really looking forward to getting back to shipboard life.
Embarkation was very easy and smooth we had all the required documentation on hand ...
We love Celebrity ships, always in Aqua class so we can dine in blu, always first class food and service, staff seems to have been given extra training in allergies, my wife has coeliac disease and staff were very good at keeping her safe from Gluten
As with all my reviews I like to keep things real and report on some big negatives on the cruise.
At the wonderful sunset bar there is no no ...
We took this cruise with our elderly parents to show them NZ.
Things we didn’t like:
- smorgasbord situation in Ocean View hygiene post Covid questionable
- very American centric, catering for US customers as primary concern.
-Mainly American wine lists and menu options. Little local wines or cuisines.
-hard sell at premium restaurants - constant hovering over our shoulders ...
We recently went on a cruise to New Zealand which included stops in Dunedin (Port Chalmers), Christchurch (Lyttleton), Wellington, Napier and Picton along with a day spent scenic cruising through Milford Sound, Dusky Sound and Doubtful Sound – Fiordland. We had a great time. The cruise involved a total of five sea days, one as previously mentioned was scenic cruising. We were blessed with fine ...
We wanted to do a cruise after years of Covid cancellations and the NZ sounds (they are fjords ) were on the bucket list. Boarding was easy, lots of different steps to go through but staff kept us on track. Leaving from the terminal next to the bridge is a highlight.
Staff were fantastic and friendly. We ate mainly in blu restaurant, except for lunch when we usually went to the outdoor area of ...
So I enjoyed the cruise, BUT I booked a year previously and checked with Celebrity and was told price included drink package and internet, BUT on boarding no drink package or internet. Apparently over the year Celebrity changed their policy from all prices include drinks to you can pay extra for drinks if you book the cheap seats!!!
Thus started out really badly, luckily we were classed as ...
We chose this cruise before covid and this was a rescheduled cruise. We have sailed to Tasmania many time and this was more about the journey for us. Firstly the greetings in the terminal were very friendly and check in was very fast. We went straight to our cabin which was a balcony. The cabin was quite narrow and seemed cramped although it did have a lounge and coffee table. The balcony was ...
The ship looks very tired and requires a refit. The carpets all had a smell about them and urgently need replacing.
The food was OK but I felt they tried too hard. It would have been better to have simpler food cook very well. It was mostly meat and nothing else. A lack of any vegetables or carbs.
The staff could not be faulted they all gave 100% to make sure you had everything you needed. ...
