We wanted to do a cruise after years of Covid cancellations and the NZ sounds (they are fjords ) were on the bucket list. Boarding was easy, lots of different steps to go through but staff kept us on track. Leaving from the terminal next to the bridge is a highlight.
Staff were fantastic and friendly. We ate mainly in blu restaurant, except for lunch when we usually went to the outdoor area of ...
We chose this cruise before covid and this was a rescheduled cruise. We have sailed to Tasmania many time and this was more about the journey for us. Firstly the greetings in the terminal were very friendly and check in was very fast. We went straight to our cabin which was a balcony. The cabin was quite narrow and seemed cramped although it did have a lounge and coffee table. The balcony was ...
The ship looks very tired and requires a refit. The carpets all had a smell about them and urgently need replacing.
The food was OK but I felt they tried too hard. It would have been better to have simpler food cook very well. It was mostly meat and nothing else. A lack of any vegetables or carbs.
The staff could not be faulted they all gave 100% to make sure you had everything you needed. ...
This cruise was selected for the itinerary. It went to all the South Pacific islands that we wanted to visit.
We mostly dined at the main dining room. The waiters and food were excellent - could not fault the service.
We dined at the Oceanview Café, which is a buffet style, at times and while the selection and quality of food was also excellent, we found it to be far too busy for us and we ...
In Sept. 2021 we cruised the Apex. It had only been sailing since June, great ship, service, food, and shows. Eclipse not so much. In fact, because of our b2b2b we will not sail with Celebrity again. On Jan. 14 we started on Eclipse to do the Fiji islands (12 night) then New Zealand (12 night) and finished with Australia wine tour (9 night).
To start with the staff was amazing, always working ...
We are seasoned cruisers, and this was our sixth Celebrity Cruise. We were looking forward to the same Celebrity experience we've had previously on other ships, however we were disappointed overall with the offering on the Eclipse.
Let's start with the positives, and what went well:
1. The solarium pool was a very enjoyable space that we used a lot. We never struggled to find an empty deck ...
Myself and my wife selected this cruise which would offer the opportunity to visit countries not seen before (with the exception of New Zealand). Overall, there were highs and lows (quite a lot, actually). As follows:
Highs: Entertainment - actually pretty good. Bearing in mind that not all the performances (around 45 minutes) would suit every taste, we found most to our liking. Very stylish, ...
For our first cruise, we chose to go around New Zealand. We are Australian so we liked the Sydney departure.
We sprung for a suite to avoid waiting in queues. The Retreat exclusive restaurant with fewer people also appealed to us as a way of reducing chances of contracting a virus.
Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Suite is satisfactory. Food is very good.
Our one issue is ...
This was our 47th cruise and16th with Celebrity.
Overall, it was an enjoyable cruise (something would be really wrong if a cruise isn’t). The ship has been kept in good condition, everywhere was spotlessly clean with cleaners working consistently around the ship. Mostly the crew were pleasant and helpful. We’ve done this itinerary Sydney-Sydney around New Zealand a couple of times, so chose ...
We love to go cruising for Christmas and this was our third one with Celebrity. First was Celebrity Century to South Pacif and second was Celebrity Constellation, Singapore to Dubai. Both were excellent and thoroughly enjoyed everything about them. But even though we still had a good time on our New Zealand Christmas Cruise, it was nowhere near as good. The boarding process was excellent and we ...
