The ship and rooms are very nice. The staff in general very friendly. BUT,!
The customer service and organization is poor. Over priced excursions, so most book through someone else. We cruised Australia and had 4 ports that used Tenders to shore. The Tender process was terrible, wait times of 1-2 hours to get on a tender, 30 minute boat ride and then the piers were 30 mins from town. ...
Cruise ruined by very poor organisation to leave ship .have been in the queue for 20 Minutes. Not even half way. Queue snakes around dining room and two corridors.
This is the situation in Wellington but getting back on in Dunedin nearly as bad.
Do not seem to be organised or bothered. Quite happy for passengers to queue for 45 minutes to get off a ship
Food has been of a high standard ...
The three positive points of the boat, the very nice cabins, the very helpful staff, the very good quality of the food (a little too salty) at the buffet. It is better to avoid restaurants which are crowded and where you wait and where you do not benefit from the beautiful view of the buffet.
The entertainment is very very very poor, the basic Internet package is lousy and you have to pay 45 ...
Let’s start with the positives:
We haven’t sunk (yet).
Food variety in the main buffet is good.
Eden bar is very nice.
And now the negatives:
Celebrity continue to cost-cut on quality and ‘nickel-and-dime’ everything.
Consistently tepid food in the main buffet and, surprisingly, in the main restaurants.
Insufficient waiting staff in the bars.
Classic drinks package includes ...
We sought to expand our previous experiences on Pacific cruises on the 2 Solstice ships by booking a similar 10 day voyage ex Sydney on the newer Edge. Despite its classy, even glitzy, appearance, we were disappointed with many aspects of the ship, especially the on-board activities or more correctly lack of activities and entertainment.
Apart from the variable (mostly live & loud) Theatre ...
Umm, so we’ve done 2 x princess. 2 x carnival and 2 x Royal Caribbean, and expected celebrity to slightly above these in terms of quality.
What we liked:
- glass windows, great views
- main shows good, not the very best, but good.
- electric window and blackout blind
- good gymn
What we didn’t like:
- biggest issue are lots of suite and aqua areas closed off to those ...
The food in Cafe Blu was horrible. I am a plant eater mostly. My choices were limited and tasteless. My husband found the meats in the Ocean View Cafe to be over cooked. I have noticed on our last 3 cruises with Celebrity that the quality of food has gone down. The entertainment has always been slow, but enjoyable. However, during this cruise the entertainment was unimaginative. I felt like the ...
In Sept. 2021 we cruised the Apex. It had only been sailing since June, great ship, service, food, and shows. Eclipse not so much. In fact, because of our b2b2b we will not sail with Celebrity again. On Jan. 14 we started on Eclipse to do the Fiji islands (12 night) then New Zealand (12 night) and finished with Australia wine tour (9 night).
To start with the staff was amazing, always working ...
We bought the Celebrity Always Included package, which includes the classic beverage package, basic wi-fi, and gratuities. Works out well for us, although we did find a wine we liked better which was not completely covered by the package so we paid $4 extra a few times. Reminder that all prices are in US dollars.
Dining in the main dining room Moonlight Sonata- stuffed in like sardines. ...
We chose this cruise because we had sailed pre Covid with Solstice and had had a wonderful time.
However, this cruise was extremely disappointing and we will never choose this line again.
These are some of the reasons,
Mask wearing was barely encouraged for passengers and was minimal.
The staff all wore them. However, Covid was spreading as a result. Two out of our party of eight ...
