Wonderful cruise as usual!

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

There was never a cruise we did not like but after 20 Celebrity cruises, 3 Viking, 2 Royal Caribbean we are eager to try something new. Our cruise was wonderful but it does get repetitive. Since they started to focus on exclusive dining venues, I feel that they have neglected the main dining room, it is always the same menu from cruise to cruise, we can predict what we will have beforehand, Time ...

This was a nice cruise from New Zealand to Australia, we picked this one as we specifically wanted to visit Tasmania. Our previous experience with celebrity had left us disenchanted and we were pleasantly surprised that as long as we avoided the buffet with its poor service, food and unruly crowds, the experience was pleasant and well-valued. The checkin experience was a little worse mostly due to ...

The was our fourth cruise all with Celebrity however first time we have cruised on the Solstice class of ship, very nice experience. As expected a much more modern ship than the Millennium class with many obvious improvements throughout. My wife and I liked the layout of Guest relations, Shore Excursions and the Passport Bar, a very good use of space. The Embarkation experience was very ...

Big ship, couldn't cope in main self service on sea days and peak times

We chose this for the route it took. The poor weather at one point unfortunately meant the itinerary was slightly amended. no big deal. The self service restaurant was disappointing on busy days.It clearly couldnt cope. By day 3 notices were placed on tables asking people to leave at end of eating. The ship has notices around pool and solarium areas asking guests not to "reserve" sunbeds etc by ...

I enjoyed all aspects of my cruise. The food in grand dining room was great. The buffet had huge range, but very hard to keep food hot. Loved the variety. Their home made ice cream was a treat. Sushi on five was a real delight and my favourite. All staff were awesome. Huge range of nationalities and all so polite and accommodating. I did not have a drinks package and was only ...

I have been drawn to the Down Under area since I was a child. I devoured books and movies about the area, and dreamt of this mystical land. When I found this cruise over two years ago while perusing the 'Net one night, I was ecstatic! I planned and researched, so that I would not miss anything and make the most of this trip. So..fast forward to one week after our trip ended. The cruise was ...

Another Great Cruise with Celebrity

I am a solo traveler and have been on many cruises: after shopping around, I have become a Celebrity loyalist. I will only cruise with Celebrity Cruises: they treat me very well and they are the best in the business for mid-size luxury cruising. That said, I rated this trip as "very good" (not "excellent") because of some extenuating circumstances that reflect the overall experience, not ...

We stayed in room 1080 - a bit cramped but not bad for a mid-sized ship. This was "Concierge Class". The service of the room was impeccable and I must mention Sheldon, who was simply the best cabin steward we've ever had! Other aspects of this cruise were inconsistent. For example: we could have "appys" in our cabin in the afternoon. For the first several days, I dutifully filled out the form and ...

Auckland, NZ to Sydney, AU

This was the very first cruise for me. I'm glad that my wife made all the arrangements from the flights to and from Honolulu , hotel bookings, cruise itinerary, excursions, and the visits in Sydney after the cruise. I had a marvelous time traveling with her as well as my 90 year old father and 40 yr old niece. We had adjacent cabins and the crew removed the partition between our balconies so that ...
