We did this cruise because we wished to see more of Asia after only visiting the Thailand areas like Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui. This was so disappointing as you spent more time sitting on bus transfers between destinations of between 4hr - 6 hr because the ports were so far away. I also found that what the ship excursion broucher promised and delivered was two very different things. I thought it ...
We chose to do this cruise because it is relatively close to home (only about 8 1/2 hours to Hong Kong and 7 1/2 from Singapore). A lot closer than Europe or the US. We have been to Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok many times and to Vietnam in 1999.
We kept ourselves amused in Hong Kong by walking from our hotel the Harbour Grand to the top of The Peak. It is a long way but if you are into ...
Decent value for the price that was paid.
Old ship, showing her age. Many of the public areas seem to have been converted to specialty restaurants during prior renewals of the ship and this distracted from the beauty of the ship. Certainly not a 5 star cruise. Maybe years ago it was. We saw no significant differences from other RCL ships or other so called 4 or 4 and one half star cruise ...
Overall the cruise was interesting, if a bit long for my preference.
I enjoyed the ports of call, but found the docking locations in two cases, viz. Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and Bangkok to far from the sightseeing location.
Our ocean view stateroom was Ok, although its location at the bow made for GOOD exercise walking to the aft end and back three times a day for dinning.
Over all I ...
Ship is now rather tired.
Compared to our previous Celebrity cruises the standards are slipping. Bar prices do not represent value for money $9 +18% percent for a warm beer.
Wine $32 per bottle +18% at very minimum and the Sommeliers are largely clueless about the wines.
Several times was given non branded spirits and charged for branded, $3 difference.
Food in main restaurant was not ...
Celebrity Millenium 14 night Asia Immersion cruise
Embarkation took 30 mins. Then we were welcomed onboard with champagne & mimosa on a red carpet. (We expected this, having been on its identical sister ship Celebrity Constellation.)
Our oceanview room was comfy & spacious, but the bath cubicle was small.
We had the Classic unlimited alcoholic drinks package, so I decided to try out ...
Compared to other cruises this ship seems very tired, there were no entertainment staff pushing shows and events and you were left to actively seek out entertainment and shows.I found some of the staff very rude and condescending especially guest services ,the drinks were very hit and miss one good cocktail out of three, they ran out of certain beers very quickly and the best they could do was offer ...
This was our 6th time with Celebrity having previously sailed on their Solstice class ships. We knew the Constellation was older but expected the same high standards. The ship has a certain charm of an age gone by and the public areas are plentiful and not crowded. However, compared to Solstice class there's a lot needs to be done in terms of updating if Celebrity continue to sail this ship, she's ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary and also we had not sailed before on Celebrity line. Many friends ensured us it was comparable with if not better than Princess line, which we love.
So we eagerly awaited embarkation in Singapore. This went extremely well, no long queues.
The balcony cabin was very nice and bright with plenty of storage and had a good bathroom. So far, so good. However ...
Chose this based on itenary.
Restaurant served the same food day in day out...buffet. No variety, over cooked, no taste. Sad.
Service was below par ...in buffet area. Tables not cleaned and plates not picked up.
Dirty dishes.... serving ladles on food...total cross contamination. Nothing done to rectify even after it was pointed out to staff.
The dining room service was much ...
