We went on this cruise because it was a 14 day cruise to Antarctica. We have most often cruised with Holland America, but their cruise to Antarctica is 22 days. We had heard that Celebrity is slightly better than Holland america, but we found the opposite to be true.

We wanted to go to see penguins and visit Antarctic. We were informed by Celebrity 7 days before departure that the ship was having propulsion issues, but we were not allowed to cancel the cruise. We had booked this cruise 2 years ago and were very excited when the time finally arrived to go to Antarctica. We spent 3 nights in Buenos Aires beforehand and enjoyed our time there. Embarkation was straightforward, our inside cabin on deck 8 was ready quite early, we had lunch at Oceanview Cafe after we dropped off our things. It is mind blowing that a cruise line could allow a ship with serious propulsion problems to head down to Antarctica. And greed can be the only motive.
