Great ship, great itinerary, great food, great service - what more can you ask?

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

My wife is a bit finicky about cruising to a location with high temperatures (e.g., the Mediterranean) in August, and I was not thrilled about going to Alaska. So we "compromised" on this trip around the United Kingdom and Ireland. (Spoiler Alert: It was a great decision.) We did not book the cruise until late April (less than four months before departure), so we did not have much of a choice ...

We chose this cruise for the Itinerary and the Royal Tattoo. The ports of call were wonderful and the private tours that we arranged with our fellow cruisemates were so enriching and fun. It was our first visit to Amsterdam and we really enjoyed the vid and countryside We stayed at Banks Mansion, a wonderful all inclusive hotel. We had great weather for all but two days, and thanks to ...

My husband and I, took the Silhouette British Isles tour in August 2017, Concierge Class cabin. This tour included a two-day stop in Edinburgh for the Military Tattoo. My husband and I are average age 63 with experience on 16 cruises including two others on Celebrity Constellation. I went into this cruise with confidence in Celebrity as I felt our cruises on the Connie had provided us the ...

Let me start by saying two things...First, we have always been loyal Celebrity cruisers and Elite + members, having been on them so many times I lose count. Second, the only things that don't lower this rating even lower are the ports were fun, and the crew's enthusiasm and friendliness were perfection ! Having recently been on a great Celebrity South American cruise last year, we were looking ...

We chose this cruise because of the destinations and also, we had cruised with Celebrity 7 years ago and were very impressed at that time. Celebrity pampered their guests at that time. The Food in the main dining hall used to be 4 star and the service there was wonderful. On the Celebrity cruise from which we just returned, the food in the main dining hall was at best 2 star, except the last ...

Celebrity's Priorities Are Elsewhere

Celebrity Cruise Lines has a new priority, a new focus, a new ship comin' to town in late 2018. It's the Celebrity "Edge", first sea lady representing a new class of ships. Lot's of hype, lot's of attention, lot's of money$$$$$. As a result, in my opinion, the rest of the fleet is suffering from lack of attention, reductions in crew/staff and absurd modifications to packages. Gotta save money here ...

We have done 31 cruises we have used a number of different lines but we now only use Celebrity because the cater to longer cruises and we like 2 to 4 week cruises and love transatlantic and transpacific. Celeberty fits our knitch our age people and most long cruises have very few children.we have sailed on the Silhouette several times and love it but we really like their smaller ships. We took the ...

Flew into Amsterdam the morning of the cruise. We dropped off our luggage at the ship, then walked into town. It's a 15 minute walk. We were allowed to board after 10:30 and we boarded about 11:00. The embarkation process went smoothly and quick. This was our first time on Silhouette, and the ship was well laid out and beautiful. Our first port was Inverness, Scotland. We did a private tour ...

British Isles and Belgium - 12 Days

This itinerary was terrific. It was docked in Edinburgh for the Royal Military Tatoo which is an event not to be missed; however, booking directly online for the tickets were extremely prudent. The shore excursion was $349/per person. We purchased tickets with great seats for 70 Euros ($87/person). We used public transportation to reach the city from the port. There was a huge tender issue ...

Always wanted to see this part of the world, so... We arrived 2 days early in Amsterdam prior to the cruise. It was fortunate because British Airways lost our luggage and it was finally returned late the night before the cruise. Otherwise, great start to the trip. We are frequent Celebrity cruisers and stay in Aqua class, so we frequently eat at Blu. The menu has changed and it was not ...
