Up charge for gelato and not the ice cream, poor, greedy. 5. Overall food: Main dining room, ok. Small portions and bland. Buffet, limited selections same day after day. Baked goods, very poor. Dry bread, pastries were the the worst, no flavour. Pies filled with puree and very little fruit, greedy. 6. Since it was Alaska we expected more sea food. Not cod, steamed halibut, dry salmon bits. Where was the Crab legs, Lobster tails ? Probable in the "up charge" restaurants. Again Greedy ! 7 Our cabin was comfortable, enjoyed the balcony, especially at the Hubbard Glacier. The Martini Bar was the best for good drinks and entertainment. The shows were good. Based on the overall quality of the food and the petty up charges I would not recommend Celebrity. I commend your staff. But the rest falls short of any value. It appears the cruise industry has gone the way of the airlines, charge more give less. Read Less

Recommended by travel agent. upon boarding the celebrity infinity we proceeded to the buffet lunch, as we awaited access to our aqua class room. we were immediately set upon by the waiters & waitresses trying to have us sign up for the daily "drinks package" @ (us)$55.00 per day per person plus an 18% gratuity. (if there were 2 persons in a room, both had to buy the "drinks package"). since my wife and i usually share a bottle of wine with dinner, we were definitely not interested in the "drinks package" which included only drinks by the glass and not bottles of wine with dinner. when we repeatedly declined the alcoholic drinks package we were then pressured to buy the non-alcoholic package or the bottled water package. One of the reasons we chose aqua class was to have access the aqua blu dining room, which was designated for aqua class passengers only. the wait staff in the blu dining room were all excellent and very cordial and most food was fine but the new york and ribeye steaks were meager and so thin that all the steaks, we were served, well done!! while we could afford it, we were not inclined the pay a us$45.00 per person cover charge to go to the tuscan dining room to try to get "decent steak". All drinks were accessed an 18% gratuity, including a small bottle of water which was sold for us$3.00 (total us$3.54). it should be noted that 2 small bottles of water were initially provided in our room at no additional cost. Internet cost of us$249.00 for one (1) week is excessive, in our opinion!! Library extremely small for 2170 passengers. During may, 2017, my wife and i took an all-inclusive cruise with regent through the middle east and when comparing the costs on a daily basis between celebrity and regent (for the cruise, all beverages, gratuities & internet) the all-inclusive regent cruise was much less expensive!!!! And when taking into account that most of regent's tours were included in the cruise cost, regent was even more economically attractive. we came to understand why numerous other regent cruisers we spoke with sailed with regent repeatedly. The Theatre on the ship was spacious and the entertainment/entertainers "top notch" Read Less

Loved the cruise, as the scenery was beautiful. We had a blast on our excursions. The captain of the ship got us very close to the glacier. All I could do was say WOW. The food and service was top notch in the restaurant named Blu! The shows were great with good entertainment, BUT !!!! Our toilets only worked sometimes for the first four days, This was very embarrassing for us. We would call and report them and they would say someone would be up to fix them then they would work then fail. It was a crap shoot if the toilet would work or not (no pun intended). We got very little acknowledgement from the crew when we complained. We prepaid our drink and tip package. just to find out you had to chase someone down for a drink or stand in line at a bar if you found one open to get a drink, We have cruised with Carnival and if your drink was even close to the bottom they would be there asking if you needed another drink. The rest of the food and service had a lot to be desired. The food was bla and the drink service sucked. We were each given a $200.00 gift certificate each at the end of the cruise for our toilet problems. I doubt we will ever cruise again on celebrity, so the coupons are worthless to us. Oh well we got the Alaska cruise off of the bucket list. but was disappointed in Celebrity. Pete and Donna cabin 9100 Read Less

I chose this cruise as a member of a group. The ship was nice, but the atmosphere is no longer one of luxury unless you can pay top dollar. Due to the class system on this cruise we were not able to enjoy being together. Those who paid the most had better rooms, food, amenities and service. The main dining room was so bad that no one ate there unless they had to. This meant that children, sisters etc. who had lesser "class" could not eat with the family unless fees of $35 or $45 dollars were paid per person. If you choose Celebrity take fewer cruises and go in at a top level. Ive decided to save more money and choose an all inclusive high end cruise where all are paying top prices and the class system is not so apparent. Obviously Celebrity is all about finding ways to make more money. Read Less

Went on this cruise to celebrate my sisters and I birthdays. As far as having family together it was fine. But the amenities and everything else on board were just barely standard. Several things about this cruise were off 1) To start with i purchased an upgraded room and the room was just what i had on other cruise lines for a lot less money. We did have a nice veranda though. We were suppose to have a bottle of wine waiting for us when we first got on board and it never showed up. Our cabin steward was good enough but kept forgetting small things such as putting our breakfast menu in the room for the next day. 2) The elevators in the ship were way too small way too slow to try and move the amount of people that they had to move. 3) The on-board entertainment was horrific. They had a couple of musicals in the theater that were at best a poor attempt by a bunch of amateurs to entertain people. The quality was something you would see at an amusement part. People were getting up and walking out in the middle of the performances due to how bad it was. The movies instead of being shown in the movie theater was shown on the deck in the cold, wind, and rain. They did have a wildlife naturalist do several talks that were great. But that was only thing for entertainment that was any good. 4) The food quality was ranging from excellent to inedible. Eating in the specialty restaurants was a joy. The main dining room was absolutely horrible. The couple of times we tried it, the food came out cold and bland. The buffet was better than the main dining room (hot food and more selection). 5) If you want to go on a cruise to shop this would have been cruise to be on, but if you cane on a cruise to have activities and things to do, this was certainly not the cruise to be on. 6) The casino was fairly large, but the attitudes of the people working in it left something to be desired. When questioned about the table limits their attitude was "so what...just deal with it or don't play". There was no empathy to customer at all. 7) The shore excursions (we went on 2) were not what the brochure explained them to be and totally priced a lot more than what we got out of them. I would suggest people read VERY CAREFULLY the explanations and question the cruise line as to what EXACTLY is offered on the excursion. We ended up getting a refund on one of our excursions because it was not what was promised. 8) The way they handled drinks (both alcoholic and soft drinks/water) was absolutely the worst i have ever experienced. I bought the upgraded alcohol package (in which I was suppose to receive top shelf alcohol) and every drink was made with well alcohol. When questioning a bartender, I got the attitude of that is what we serve (so why did i waste the money on the upgrade?). Every time you wanted a soft drink or water they had to take your ship card and run to the bar. so sometimes it took as much as 10 min. 9) The service during the entire cruise was hit or miss. Some of their staff were great, others were just acting like they were totally put out to have to wait on you and were there just drawing a paycheck. 10) I don't know who's idea it was to put a very loud and lousy cover band in the main atrium playing as loud as they could. Not only was the music bad but being in the atrium amplified and broadcast it to the entire ship. It was so loud and obnoxious that you would have to go to your room or out on deck to get away from it. 11) Embarkation and disembarkation was very smooth and totally painless. 12) Watch out for their salesman trying to constantly sell you a drink package or something else. Very off putting. I will never cruise this line again. After doing a little research, I could have gotten a much longer cruise, with more amenities, and a better stateroom for the same amount of money I wasted on this trip. Read Less

I specifically picked this cruise based on the published route to travel north between Vancouver island and the Canadian mainland of British Columbia. We wanted see the beautiful Canadian coastline. So what does this captain do but go right out the strait of Juan de Fuca and miles out into the Pacific Ocean before turning north to Alaska. We missed the entire Canadian coastline and the potential to see whales. I asked several staff why the course change and no one could me a satisfactory answer. The food in the buffet was very bland. We had the early seating for dinner and the service was good, but quality of the food was only on par with a Denny's restaurant. It seemed that all the ships staff had a very poor command of english and limited vocabulary. It was tough to communicate with them. If I had to do this again I would not choose Celebrity. Read Less

A good deal always has some items/events that will blind side you. Our first day aboard felt like third world as crew hounded and begged for you to purchase drink packages. My first encounter lasted three to four minutes as the staff member followed me from the elevators to the Oceanview cafe and even suggested that I just buy one package for my party and share. Three other encounters with staff before I suggested to the fifth person that I would jump overboard if anyone else tried to sell me a package. I found most staff to be quite congenial once the pressure to push the package was no longer an issue. Food was quite disappointing as flavor was lacking, pork on one occasion was close to raw. I found that food was either under or over cooked and very bland, with the exception of the Indian food with was ever present. Towards the end of the trip I quit giving my honest opinion about my experience as the supervisory staff was quite intimidating. If food is not an item of interest, you'll enjoy this cruise, but remember that the room key add to your bill, everything costs, and in most cases a lot. On the positive side, I found the crew to be quite congenial once the need to sell was gone. Cabin was well above par with some other lines. Security is excessive and overbearing, almost to an oppressive mood. Will I recommend Celebrity, yes with caveats, will I travel Celebrity again, not very likely. Read Less

We chose this Alaska cruise because we had never cruised on Celebrity and had heard good things about the line. The ship is badly in need of renovation, especially the cabins. We booked a veranda stateroom and by the time we purchased drink cards, the cruise came to $420/day per person--not inexpensive. Day one brought a nearly one hour muster which was total chaos. The majority of "activities" listed in the daily bulletin involved trying to sell you something--jewelry, watches, makeup, cheap purses and other junk. We would expect this on Princess, but at half the fare. The cost of the specialty restaurants, $41/per person is exorbitant. The bottle of water in the room is $5.50. We asked for a small snack to accompany drinks in the bar and were told there would be something in 2 hours. The chairs in the dining room were so stained, I was reluctant to sit down. There are no guest laundry or ironing facilities. The dress code in the dining room was not enforced--no need for the dressy clothes I packed. I can say that most of the shows were good and service in the dining room was good. This was our first and last Celebrity cruise. Read Less

My wife and I recently cruised on Celebrity Millennium to Alaska and were very disappointed in the condition of the ship, the quality of the food(in the metropolitan dinning room) and the poor service throughout the cruise. Let me start with the condition of the ship, we had a concierge level cabin with balcony on deck 8. The room was typical in size and decor a little tired looking. The balcony railing was in desperate need of varnish and sanding , I was worried about getting splinters from the wood railing. There was also a pipe/bar that ran across the bottom of the balcony above us that looked like it had not been painted in years. The layout of the ship left much to be desired most of the bars were in hallways(with the exception of Cosmos- nice space but often misused for bingo or trivia)Some of the public rest rooms, were not cleaned throughout the day and had toilet paper and urine on the floor. The Ocean View cafeteria floor was sticky on some days. But it had a great outdoor space to eat.On the bright side our stateroom attendant, Socorrow was outstanding. He was pleasant and efficient ,tending to our needs and cabin in seamless fashion. He worked in the manor we expected when cruising with Celebrity. As far as the rest of the service throughout the ship, it was fair at best. The service in the Metropolitan dinning room was totally confused, it was as if they were breaking in a new staff. Guest realations did not give great information about disembark in ports, some ports took up to an hour to disembark. We had our own concierge included in our package, but she was hardly around and when she was in her office she would give you the phone to make your reservations (just an example of great service)There were a few bright spots in the staff, a barmaid from Rumania(don't recall her name)was terrific as was the hostess in Sushi on 5. Which brings me to the upscale restaurants, we ate at the Tuscan grill on two separate occasions and the food ,wine and the service were exceptional. Sushi on 5 was also outstanding. So if you're willing to pay additional fee$45/pp Celebrity can offer quality food and service. The food in the Metropolitan dinning room was ok one night and terrible the next(My wife had the fish one night and it was not edible, we ended up going to the buffet to get her something to eat.) If this was our first time cruising with Celebrity ,maybe we would not have expected better service or food quality , but this was our 4-5th time on Celebrity and this was by far the most disappointing . We also booked a land portion through Celebrity and that more than meet our expectations. The guide Betsy ,and Bill our driver were amazing. (There were other busses traveling with us but I'm sure Betsy and Bill were far better than the other guides) They were knowledgeable, informative and had a great sense of humor they worked well together. They made our excursion memorable. We also booked a few excursions in each port and Celebrity did a great job with each experience. All in all Alaska was amazing ,between the wilderness and wildlife and adventures it could not have been better, can't wait to go back. Just not sure we would do it with Celebrity again. Read Less

We travelled as a family of 11, of which 5 children between 10 and 14. Our general impression is that the ship needs maintenance, that a proper cleaning of the cabins is needed, and that management certainly is more focused on profit optimization than on servicing the guests. This with the exception of the main restaurant, where we found the food very good and the service level ditto. Wr arranged our own shore excursions. The pricing of the tours by the ship were outrageous. Embarcation took more than two hours. However, one event made a significant impression: On the first day of the cruise before departure from Vancouver we went with the children to the pool area. The oldest boy went into the hot tub, but came up immediately. He had been burned by the hot water and developed 8-10 blisters on his feet. We were told by the pool attendants that they had turned up for the temperature after the previous cruise, as guests had complained about the water being too cold! The boy was taken to the medical center and treated by the doctor. We had expected on such background * that we would be contacted by a responsible officer and receive an apology. That did not happen. We called Guest Relations several times without other result than idle chit-chat. We were told that we should be happy that the boy had been treated free of charge in the medical center!! * that we would have received assurances that steps had been taken to ensure that this could not happen again. However, the safety officer did not find time to contact us until after two days and could not see that he had a problem. The ship was approved as well by US as by Canadian authorities. The fact that the boy had had a second degree burning was not an issue for him * that the boy would have received some kind of compensation for such unpleasant event. We were told that a financial compensation was precluded. We were on the second last day of the cruise offered a dinner in a specialty restaurant as compensation! We found this ridiculous, Read Less

he land tour was just as we expected. The trains, buses, and transportation wee really good and the accommodations ranged from good to fantastic! The Millennium was a disappointment. While we realize that the ship celebrated its 17th birthday on our cruise, the problems with the cabin and the service are the result of delayed maintenance, shoddy housekeeping, and lack of training for the staff. Our Deck 8 balcony cabin was very small and we had to turn side-ways to walk by the foot of the beds. The beds did not fit together well and even though the cabin attendant tried to fix it, the separation was uncomfortable. The shower pan had mold and mis-fitting tile-like repair and there was a lot of rust. The drapes were too big for the window, were in two sections that did not meet well and the sheers were missing (the hooks were there). We realize you do not need sheers for privacy on Deck 8, but they are wonderful to cut the glare of the bright sun in the early morning. The food was below-par and while there was a lot of help in the dining room, most of them were in training and service was hap-hazard - and rushed. The staff at the buffet need more training especially in carving large pieces of ham and beef - they were "hacked" into pieces and the staff was not given instructions on how to carve. The photographers were not photographers and when questioned, one admitted they had never seen a camera like "this one" until about three hours ago. We tried two different stations and none of the staff knew a thing about posing. And, the photo stations had very very limited hours and were only open sporadically. The best place on the entire ship? The martini bar and the great staff there! Thank goodness for our Beverage Package! The Captain's Club events were attended by 6 to 16 people (someone else counted them and thanked us for increasing the attendance from 14!) It will take a lot of convincing to get us on a Celebrity Cruise again. Read Less

Wanted to go to Alaska both cruise and land tour in June. The buffet on board was less than desirable. Food often was cold or old. The buffet layout was absolutely terrible. If you wanted pizza it was in one direction or a hamburger was out in the rain aft deck 100 yards away. I realize that the ship is older but they should have restructured the kitchen. There was NO soft serve ice cream available. No matter what deck you got off of the elevators or staircase when you looked port or starboard there was NO indicators to which was was forward or aft direction. We had to beg the crew to dispose of any kind of trash. There were no trash containers on any floor, by the elevators, even in the entertainment areas, even by the lobby. My wife (who is in good physical shape) had a massage, and the next day was bruised all along her back. Our dining service was very good. Our room steward was helpful and attentive. Read Less

We planned this cruise 11 months in advance. We wanted to experience an Alaskan cruise. A suite was booked by an agent on the 12th floor in the middle of the ship. We were so excited because we trusted that the agent booked the "perfect" location for our special trip. Our bad for not reviewing the deck plan prior to the cruise. As soon as we entered our room the noise level was unbearable. 24 hours a day we heard nothing but carts rolling over our room and thousands of foot steps. Sometimes the room actually vibrated due to the noise. Not great when you're from CA! It was so bad that after the first two nights of no sleep (with ear plugs and pillows over our heads) we finally said something to the suite butler and guest relations. They tried to minimize the noise by blocking the area over our room from 10p to 6a. It did not help. We couldn't even take naps. The ship itself is wonderful with great public areas, nice restaurants and an awesome coffee bar - needless to say we spent a lot of our time at the coffee bar trying to stay awake! Dining for suite guests is in a private restaurant with top notch food. Suite guests have the option of ordering from the main menu as well. The service on the ship was outstanding. Really everything about the ship and the cruise itself was wonderful. Had it not been for the cabin situation, this would have been a great experience. The entertainment was adequate. The ensemble shows were nice. The dancers are great. Singing was okay - they did have one amazing female singer in the main showroom. We really enjoyed listening to the music in other parts of the ship as well. It is unfortunate that we had such a terrible experience with regard to the suite. This was a suite that cost us over $7,200! One would wonder why they placed suites under the noisiest part of the ship. We realized that the cruise staff could not reconstruct the ship for our comfort, but there should be some type of warning to people before they spend thousands of dollars to rest and relax! We learned a very expensive and valuable lesson for future cruising. Read Less

OK if someone was to tell you they are going to visit your home town and want you to tell them 5 things to see or do... think about it..........ok now are all 5 things the name of jewelry stores in your town? If not why? On the Solstice their daily guide, map of the town has nothing but jewelry stores they are pimping for, their is noting of historical facts or locations, local sites, just jewelry stores. It has been a while since my last cruise prior to this one, but on my previous cruises once on the ship all you paid for was gambling and alcohol, everything else was no charge. Now I bought a soda card to get sodas at no cost, but a limit of 1 at a time. I requested to have 2 or 3 so I could keep them in my room should I get thirsty during the night, and the reaction I got when I asked for them was shocking. You would have thought I asked for the Crown Jewels, like a diet pepsi was crack cocaine. It seemed like half the onboard activities were centered around selling something, like the art shows selling paintings, occurred several times, art auction, glass blowing show to sell their items. In my previous cruises we had activities for entertainment, I did skeet shooting from the aft of the ship no charge, pool side games no charge, it seemed there was always something to do without being charged to your room card. For such a awesome ship, great rooms, great staff, the potential is there, just stop turning it into a money grabbing barge, if you have too raise the cost then you know from the beginning what it is really going to cost you. Crew wonderful Cabin attendant wonderful. Food Disappointing Shore excursions poorly run by ship - have always booked Celebrity shore excursions and have been pleased but these totally disorganized. Ordered shore excursions online and didn't receive tickets - finally after showing receipt of purchase got them but wasted a lot of time straightening it out. Also wasted time having to call American Express about charges. We never arrived for Napa Valley Wine train on time due to tour company forgetting mic and taking us into an area with a race going on to get one. If they had the mic would never have been caught up in the race area with traffic jams and closed roads Three hour sitting on a bus going nowhere. We were refunded our money but lost a day of touring San Francisco. At Icy Strait Point no one from Celebrity to direct us to tour. Wound up getting directions from a port rep and they were wrong. By the time we returned to where we started, the tour left without us. They offered to put us on the same tour two hours later but already had 59 booked with only room for 56. We declined and got a refund but another day in port wasted. Willamette Valley Wine Tour in Astoria, Oregon was changed from description of tour we purchased. We never saw notice of change - they offered a refund on this. The replacement tour took us to a run down winery and instead od a restaurant lunch wit wine pairings we were given a box lunch with no wine. Embarkation disorganized in San Diego. Disembarkation in Vancouver exceptionally well run. We booked three cruises on board - were so dissatisfied that we are cancelling all three. Time for ship to be refurbished - looking worn. Felt that when there was a problem that we got lip service but that no one really cared. Read Less

Well what could one find wrong with a seventeen year old ship? If you want to nit pick, lots but suffice to say it was a ship of dated ambiance and elderly business people. The activities were framed around those guests. I didn't have my tux for evening dancing so I just watched. My first notice of corner cutting was the lack of a towel animal on the bed. That used to be a big thing for cruise ships. Not now. Perhaps the one thing that most seasoned travels (30 to 50 cruises) complained about was the corner cutting on the menu and services. I was told that at one point you could get a tray in the 24 hour Ocean View (OV) restaurant. Not so now. Trays carriers took too much food. It was four days before they put hot chocolate mix out. Then ran out two days before Vancouver. I like iced tea but it was available only certain times each day and then it also ran out before we hit port. Most of the OV meals were built around pasta. There was only one carvery that served either ham or dry roast beef depending on the night. There is also a pizza counter, several salad spots to make your own and a small area for gluten free foods. On the first day there were brown rolls for breakfast with various seeds on top. From day two to the end, never saw them again. All soda drinks were at a price. $4.55 plus 18% gratuity. The main evening meals were nicely served and the staff were helpful and pleasant. However the meal selection was very limited. A salmon, lamb, small steak and two other items was it. I ordered a shrimp cocktail and got one with only 3 shrimp in it. Normally one gets 6 in a small cocktail. After 10 days, meals were pretty repetitive. Oh, the French onion soup was delicious. There are 2 small circular dance floors, both about 20 feet across. The band(?) That played on them was far from good. But then the evening band in the lobby was at best, only loud. There was a duo of violin and cello that played classical. The cello gal was good. The violin gal should go back for lesson 2. I didn't care much for the entertainment. Part of it was three old professors talking about who knows what. There is a small notions spot in the liquor store. Actually the ship is just a big selling venue. Much of the activity is around things they try to sell later. Even used Rolex watches got the push. There were also art auctions of course gambling. They do print the daily news for USA, Canada, England, France, Japan And Germany. Quite interesting what the USA press says and the other world presses say about you know who. The Internet costs $24.99 an HOUR. A full 24 hours is $49.00 in the Internet center. Apple computers. I had a double inside room which was very adequate. Shower was nice but a hand held head. The TV had almost nothing in the way of programming. We could get CNN, a kids show that repeated the same cartoons over and over and pushes on booking a future trip. As a final come down, at the end of the cruise, we received a certificate that we crossed the international date line. Big deal. It should have been for the entire transpacific crossing including the date line. I'm sure Popeye would get things better organized. Last year I took the Royal Caribbean transatlantic cruise and it was great. I would recommend that over Celebrity any and everyday. Read Less

Let me start my review by saying I have a special needs grandson and I love animals. There was a dog on board that the owners classified as a service dog. They let everyone pet even the restaurant staff while serving the other guest. The problem came when the staff didn't wash their hands after. We notice on two different days this occurring with even the restaurant manager doing this the first time with other staff members. We spoke to the hotel manager about it and was assured that it would not happen again. The next day a waiter once again petted the dog and grabbed food and delivered it to people. Third time in we had that waiter and I came down with stomach cramps Needless to say we stopped eating in Bleu. Which was a blessing in disguise because we found a wonderful waiter named Russel. Our room steward was wonderful named Bambang. The captain was the best docking captain we ever had. He was the funniest captain ever. If he retires he can do stand up. There was also a Beatles tribute band that was fabulous. At sea days was pretty bad though with entertainment or something to do and that is with over 20 cruises, Read Less

Suggested by travel agent, who was also on this cruise. Buffet was a free for all, service in the buffet non existent. No one came around with Coffee, Tea or water. The only people who came around, were those selling alcoholic drinks. The food was only average in the dining room. Breakfast in the dining room was a joke. We were told by the steward that it was very busy so not to expect service for a long time. All in all there was not a lot of variety on the menu. Positive was, ship in good condition, cabin very nice. I was looking forward to this short cruise, but it was truly disappointing, with the lack of service, and untrained crew. The crew were not at fault, but the management was for giving such shoddy service. Even my travel agent, who has been on Celebrity several times, claimed that this was not a normal cruise and she wondered what was going on. I won't be booking on Celebrity again. Read Less

I wrote 10 pages of notes about how bad our cruise was for my agent's reference. I guess I just had high expectations after hearing/reading such good things about Celebrity over the years. But from the 4.5 hours waiting to board the ship to learning upon boarding that Celebrity screwed up our dining reservations to terrible room service food to only allowing kids in the covered pool from 5-7 pm (dinner time for most young children, and this was Alaska so no going in the uncovered pool)...the list goes on and on! Service was just plain awful, from the unsmiling customer relations staff to the useless buffet staff who didn't help my daughter when she slipped and fell on food that had spilled on the floor. We had bar staff ignore us for 20 minutes while we waited for drinks. Took 2 hours to get late night room service one evening. Had erroneous charges billed to my account from a specialty restaurant. I hated this cruise so much, I booked another one - on another cruiseline - while still on this one. The one and only highlight was the kids program. The counselors were outstanding and my daughter loved it. But no, I won't go back and will tell other well-traveled friends of mine not to go to Celebrity either. Read Less

This was our first cruise with celebrity and will be our last! The whole experience was disappointing. We have cruised with many cruise company's and this was by far the worst. The food was not enjoyable at all. The buffet was lacking anything that looked or tasted good! The main restaurant served tasteless food with practically raw veg! Food choice for young children was none existent. The service was good and the staff friendly but we did have to ask for more wine or drinks, they were never around when your glass was empty and I'm not a big drinker! This is unusual on a cruise ship. The shows were not very good and often we would leave early. Our cabin was small and dingy even though we had an ocean view, the worst we've ever stayed in. The trips were so disorganised nobody knew where they were going and passengers had to ask continuously, nobody seemed to know what they were doing!! Bearing in mind some of these were elderly passengers who were totally confused. We took our almost 4 year old grandson with us, I must say the kids club was totally fantastic! He loved it and looked forward to going back every time, he always came away with something he'd made and he loved the young women who took care of him. They were very professional and obviously love what they do. We knew he was in safe hands always. We gave our grandson the choice of going, especially days at sea when we weren't on any trips and he would soon get bored, he was always very keen and rushed in barely giving us a second glance!! Unfortunately there was no thought put into children's food options, there were none! Read Less

The infinity nice ship but not for DIsabled. I use a small travel scooter and am unable to walk. The ship was very difficult to manoeuvre as the metal brackets on the floor were all high resulting in my scooter getting hung up many times and having to find someone to assist me. Only top floors had automatic doors so had to find assistance to go out all other doors and then you were stuck outside until someone came along. ALL public washrooms had no auto doors resulting in haven't to find someone to let me in and out. Phones for problems in hallways too high to be reached by wheelchair bound. Accessible Stateroom was excellent and found out after a fall there was an alarm pull no one had informed me of. When I fell I was left on the floor with no assistance till management arrived. The nurse that attended me told me I would have to get off ship as I was injured and travelling alone, subject to the doctor. Thankfully dr disagreed but still frightening me unnecessarily. I was confined to my room as I had the flu resulting in loosing two days of cruise.my food was brought in but no call checking on me whatsoever If you have a mobility disability do not take this ship as it will be a frustrating experience. we picked a cruise because its the only realistic way of seeing alaska. many of the people we met felt the same and also were new to cruising. please note that these are my own personal opinions and on celebrities questionaire i have invited their comments. the good points? the only way to see alaska, the sceenery was incredible, the excursions were generally good (see below), the waiter and cabin staff were fantastic. however the bad points? despite the substantial price you pay you are then asked to pay for items like wifi (i cant remember i had to pay for wifi even in a cheap motel), bingo, a tour of some parts of the ship, different flavours of ice cream, a higher standard of food, certain types of coffee..... i personally found a constant attempt to squeeze more money out of me annoying. there were never enough tables available for the buffet...so a 10 minute hunt for an empty table was common. i personally found their crowd management skills poor...resulting in us missing half an excursion....and despite their appologies having to fight for some refund... and only getting back 25%.....and that was a fight. at times it felt like we were on a "time share" cruise.....no...i dont want to be invited constantly to art auctions! i talked to many elderly passengers who said that the cruise was not user friendly enough for them....some found the experience hard work i think you get the picture. again please note these are my own personal observations and opinions my first and certainly my last cruise Read Less

Wanted to see Alaska ,Hubbard glacier and inside passage. The boat was 'tired' in need of a refit and painting, everything including a cappuccino was an extra, unless you took out a drinks package a bottle of beer could cost as much as $11!!.On free wifi only a package for $249 for week! The buffet ocean view was like a permanent bun fight and food often lukewarm. If you chose to eat other than your elected restaurant the cost of meal extra with no allowance offset.Disembarkation at two of three stopoffs was a disaster sent to wrong decks and told to wait standing for twenty minutes hot and uncomfortable. The shows were good but too loud,a lot of people complained only to be told that the sound could not be adjusted!? a holiday maker who was a sound engineer told them that was untrue did not go down well!!! Staff in the restaurants were generally good but the odd one was offhand and aggressive in particular two women from Ukraine who clearly thought they were too good to be dealing with mere mortals. The ocean lecturer called Chelsea was superb and drew the biggest audiences. The cruise entertainer was loud overconfident and would have been more at home in a holiday camp like Butlins or Disneyworld his banter so banal.Question whether he can ever pass a mirror or shined surface so VAIN. Overall overpriced and although sold as premier more downmarket cruise ship. Read Less

Most of the reviews we read said this was a luxury cruise liner, we found that the central atrium went from bottom to top and that on deck 3 they would have a band and singer, this noise travelled up every level and into every public space which came off this central atrium, this included The Library, were you would want it yo be quiet, the games room also wanting it yo be quite, little alcoves, but no most times you had music blaring. The furnishings were dated, there were not a lot of activities being offered except for the obligatory dance lesson ,bingo, and trivia. We were in Aqua class which offered free spa, meaning sauna and heated bed, free coffee via room service , but only if you ordered before 11 pm at night otherwise here was a surcharge. A snack each afternoon delivered yo your room which consisted of 4 strips of dried lavash bread, approx a teaspoon of some tasteless dip, and half a dozen olives, or 2 slices of stale bread smeared with a small amount of pesto, a dozen peanuts. Aqua Class does have a restaurant exclusively for your use card Blu, this was very good. But certainly the price you pay for Aqua class is not worth the money. The ship was not user friendly, there were only 2 sets of lifts one bank in the central atrium and one bank forward. Shore excursions were overpriced. The towns of Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway, were full of jewellry stores and tourist souvenir stores, restaurants ( which were hard to impossible to get into, especially if there was more than one ship in port). Our advice unless you are willing to spend hundreds of dollars to take a flight or helicopter ride, walk into these towns they are all within walking distance, have a look around and get back on the ship. As you see in the brochures snow lined shores We did not see any snow, except on the very tops of the highest mountain peaks, a few small(smaller than a car) floating icebergs. We will never sail on a celebrity cruise again. The ship didn't seem to have a soul. All in all was very dissapointed with my Alaskan cruise. Read Less
