The ship overall looks old and the decorations are cheesy and tacky. The art hanging on the walls in the main gallery area have broken frames. Their suites are small. The dining rooms served a lobster dinner that totaled 4 bite and we had to go up to the Lido deck to actually have dinner .As for entertainment, only four singer, but.eight performers, everyone should have at least one song in every show. In the soul performance there’s two blonde girls two white boys ...two dark-haired girls and two young men of color. It was racially and culturally insulting that everything was preformed by white singers. Magic show A+! Servers Are very polite and well mannered I saw people vacuuming dusting and cleaning day and night. And our room Stewart was phenomenal I felt pampered like a princess. As for our ports of call they were dirty and full of beggars and thief’s. only one was worth seeing. Read Less

We have cruises on Norwegian and Royal Caribbean several times and thought we would try Carnival this trip. What a mistake, the food was terrible. Very poor quality and very few selections. The Guys Burgers was the best place to eat on the ship. The Blue Iguana was second but neither serve dinner so your stuck with the Lido Buffet or the Dining room which serve basically the same quality food. The staff were not very friendly and just par in my book. No going above and beyond on this cruise. My biggest issue was with the Hygiene on the ship. On both Norwegian and Royal you are greeted at the entrance to the buffet by the “ Happy Happy Washy Washy Staff” giving everyone a dose of sanitizer before hitting the buffet. On this ship there are a few hand sanitizer dispensers and several of the ones I attempted to use were empty. Dishes on the buffet were dirty, and many guests return with their used plates and cups to refill. Our cabin, an oceanview, was unimpressive. Linen was dated, as was the overall appearance of the room. We were impressed with the embarking and disembarking process. It was smooth and timely. We will not be cruising on Carnival Again. Royal Caribbean out of Galveston is a much better experience. Read Less

Let me start by saying I have spent the last 20 years sticking up for Carnival. I would tell people I was going on a carnival Cruise for vacation and they would try to take a collection so I could buy up to RCCL. I figured it was fun and had great service, so I could live with the food being mediocre and the bed being basic......and then I had a much different experience. 18 friends on a Carnival 5 day at my recommendation. Mostly first timers. It started with the confiscation of our 8" fan which my wife needs to sleep. After 2 hours of standing in line at guest services and losing my temper, they retrieved the fan that they said couldn't be retrieved. You may think this is an odd carryon but at least 8 other people were standing n line for the same thing. You see, it isn't listed as a restricted item and I have taken the same fan on several other Carnival Cruises. My room steward stopped by while we were unpacking to set up a time for his one visit per day. They leave 1 towel per person, so if you shower more than once you are using a damp towel. On to the dining room where the waiter told me if I brought an open bottle of wine 1/3 of the way full, he was going to charge me a corkage fee......I poured it into a water glass and proceeded. The menu has changed as well and the items we used to look forward to are now an upcharge. Guys Burgers was good, the Taco place was good and the Pizza place was good but it always had a long line late at night. If you have a soda card, expect to wait until alcohol drinkers are served before you get yours. I actually was delivered a second beer before the waiter brought my wife's Diet Coke. The activities crew was good, Donkey the Activities Director was quite entertaining. Both Comedians were good and the port of Galveston did a nice job with crowd control. One more tip, luggage tags are no longer dropped at your room, if you want to check your luggage, you have to go to guest services to get tags Most of our group decided to self carry in order to get off the ship sooner. We were in group 18 for the checked luggage and beat them by 20 minutes..... Read Less

We had a great time on Dream. This was our 4th cruise (2 with Carnival, 2 with Royal). All staff were friendly and attentive. Cabin steward and MDR waiters called us by name. Room and ship was clean, everything worked fine. Easy on and off at Galveston - no issues. It was our anniversary and we were treated well for it. Steakhouse was great, worth the extra cost. Food overall was good to very good. Could use more variety though. Eat in the MDR and let them serve you. You're on vacation, no need to line up for food. We ate all breakfasts and dinners in the MDR. Cozumel was great as always. Progresso is rough around the edges for sure but we enjoyed getting off the ship and exploring a little. Be realistic with your expectations. It's a Carnival ship, not the Queen Mary. Don't sweat the small stuff - enjoy your vacation. We certainly did!! Read Less

My daughter and son-in-law did a Carnival Cruise for their honeymoon two years ago in October and loved it so much they wanted us to join them on a Carnival Cruise. Hurricane Darian caused us to have to leave a day early but we had already planned to arrive in Tampa that day and spend the night, so we just drove from NC as planned and boarded with absolutely no problems despite only having birth certificates and driver's licenses and my having a pacemaker. We got on board, purchased our lanyards and were told that we were going to have a free day due to having to board early and leave the area that night. It meant 2 sea days before an excursion but all drinks and food were covered by Carnival for the 1st day. We ate burgers at the grill (better than any fast food burgers) and when we went to our room, all our luggage was there. Our room had a balcony with a lifeboat just a floor below. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the shelves in the bathroom and the size of the closets were big enough to easily store our things. I am glad I brought some folding travel hangers and a glow in the dark small flashlight as well as a small plug in extra 3 regular outlets and 2 outlets to charge our cell phones, hair dryer, curling iron and camera batteries. I may purchase a larger one with more outlets before cruising again. Almost every single staff member all over the ship was pleasant and helpful and most remembered our names from the start. Jeniper and Salai our room stewards, were great and Jeniper was especially sweet. Once we had experienced Roxana from Romania as a headwaitress, we asked for her each night at the Bacchus Dining Room. She treated us like royalty and was funny and very good with names. The food was good, especially in the Bacchus. There was a bar tender we liked a lot named Jerry (may not be his spelling) who would even call out to my husband, Tom, as we walked by on our way around the ship because they had an ongoing funny Tom and Jerry routine together. I enjoyed the Marriage Comedy show a lot but not the adult comedy show at Mad Hatter's Ball done by R.T. Steckel--too crass for me. Doug who played the baby grand at Sam's Piano Bar was awesome and the disco night at Frankensteins's We loved the Pixels photo opportunities and bought a good many. Loved earning points for prizes, especially the nice photo album and the Thumb drive. My favorite shore excursions were the VIP La Casa Beach Retreat in Cozumel and the Jolly Roger Catamaran Sailing and Snorkel with Lunch at Roatan. There was plenty of time to snorkel and to eat and to shop in each of those excursions and the people working the excursions were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I ran into a little problem with my own but new full face snorkel mask and the captain of the Jolly Roger was gentle and patient and fixed me right up for my 1st snorkeling experience. The food was delicious and the guys danced with us and were very watchful of us in the water, as well as making sure we all had all to drink we wanted. Jesus at the La Casa Beach House was friendly and the pina coladas there were the best I've ever tasted--not overly sweet like most in America are. The chef made two great salsas and guacamole with chips as we watched. In Belize, we did the River Wildlife Cruise and and Mayan Ruins of Altun Ha in Belize. I loved seeing the dolphins follow the boat, seeing the Howler monkeys, and the iguanas where we had lunch. Our Mayan guide was a good story teller. At 62, I did manage to climb to the top of the Sun god's pyramid and enjoy the view, but it was a bit challenging due to the humidity and the steps being irregular and crumbly. I wish I had had more time to shop in the little row of shops with locally hand carved wood items, but it took most of our time to climb the ruin and some of our party slowed things down before we could start when we had to wait on them to join us. My only complaint about the Grand Cayman Stingray Sandbar, Hell, and Turtle Center experience was that it was rushed. Once again, we had to wait for a family that was late and so our guide had to make up for the lost time. It was fun to handle the turtles and the gift shop at the Turtle Center was a nice one. The water was beautiful where we held the stingrays and it was a fun experience. Hell was rushed but I am glad we got to see it. Disembarkation went smoothly and, although we missed our pets and the rest of our families, we were sad it was all over. We definitely want to go back to Cozumel and go on the Jolly Roger Catamaran again someday! Carnival did not disappoint! Read Less

We choose this cruise to go with another couple that this was their first cruise. The ship was looking good inside and out after the dry dock. We had an ocean suite on the 7th floor. Room was nice, lots of room and storage. We were a bit surprised that the suite did not have a bathtub as the suites do on the bigger ships. Still had a nice big shower, but the wife really like a tub to soak in. We did the first night dining in the steak house which was very good. Service was very good. Food was great but there was a lot of food and we all over ate. The first night in the main dining room, level 3, early dining, was ok, food was good but the service was a bit slow. We were there 30 min. before we even got water and the breads. I did overhear a large group next to us complain that they had been waiting for over an hour for service. The place was full and they were very busy, so I think it might have been some new staff members. We only dining the main dining room once more and this second time the service was much better. The entertainment was very good but on the last night there was a power outage that affected the whole ship and they could not get the special effects to work in the theater so the performers just sang and danced as best they could given the short notice. We have two more cruises booked on the Freedom and are looking forward to those. Read Less

Port of Miami would not let passengers board the ship on our sail date. Totally NOT Carnival’s fault. Carnival wants nothing more than their ship sailing the full length of time and packed with passengers. We stayed a total of five nights in Miami at three different hotels. We got in on Friday and expected to sail Sunday. Long story short, we got on the ship on Wednesday. I LOVED the look of this ship! The decor is beautiful and toned down compared to the other Carnival ships we have sailed! I didn’t find the ship confined like others have noted. Also, if you have half a brain, the elevators will not outsmart you. We tried Anytime Dining and I loved it. Will definitely do that from now on. Servers were all wonderful. Food was tasty and we enjoyed the Italian restaurant as well. Only miss in the dining room was Eggs Benedict. The sauce was soooo bad! I would guess there were about 3000 passengers on board. A lot of people decided to go home versus stay in Miami for three nights. FYI—no cruise line will pay for your pre cruise hotel in the event of a hurricane. This was a great example of why we travel with a good sized contingency budget. If you can’t afford to be stuck somewhere for a few days or get home if you miss the boat, don’t go! We loved the water slides and the string quartet was so amazing!! I loved listening to them! As a comparison, we sailed on the Allure of the Seas last November, and we both preferred the Carnival Horizon. The bed on the Horizon was so comfy! Definitely much more manageable in size, and this ship did not feel like a shopping mall. Carnival does attract a “different” crowd, i.e. loud party animals, but a vacation is what you make of it. I try not to judge others, and I know I will have a wonderful time if I go with the flow. I’m personally surprised by the negative reviews here. We are already planning our next cruise on this same ship. We stayed in a spa balcony cabin, and that will now be our go to. Worth the extra $$$! We did a couples massage, but won’t do that again. Almost $400 after gratuities. We did enjoy the nice warm tiles loungers! The spa cabins are in a nice quiet area and are so pretty and calming! Nancy was our room steward. She was the best! Read Less

First time and we wanted to go to Jamaica, Grand Caymon, and Cozumel. Trip was diverted to the Bahamas due to Dorian, but Cookie, the cruise director, made the trip. He was witty, funny, and brought great energy to every event. We are still quoting him days after the trip and always looked forward to his announcements. If we book again, we will actually try to book one with him. The comic, Macio was for real funny. Best comedy I’ve ever heard. Activities were amazing and the excursion was fun. We did the stingray experience but would have done the dolphin swim if it would have been available. It looked amazing to watch others swim with the dolphins. Leo was a lot of fun too and a good host and comic. The swimming pools were a little crowded but expected. Would have stayed at the Havana area for the private pool if it would have been available. Spa tour seemed a little pushy and I’ve had treatments before and those were expensive and the benefit claims were a little exaggerated. Overall, great cruise and experience. Read Less

When I first booked my cruise on the Breeze I needed a quick get away and was happy it fit my schedule. I did very little research on the ship as I was fairly confident it would be a set up from my prior cruise on the Miracle. The final few days leading up I noticed on social media Breeze has quite the following so I allowed myself to get a excited. Unfortunately, if it weren’t for the friends I vacation with my sailing on the Breeze would’ve been a complete disappointment. As a vacationer I’m pretty easy going. I enjoy relaxing and having some good meals and drinks along the way. Sadly, the Breeze failed me in each category. First, my entire group was very disappointed by the entertainment as a whole. Several members mentioned there “wasn’t much to do on the ship.” I made an effort to enjoy the Spa and while the services were decent I was amazed that Carnival were willing to charge for a day pass when a good portion of the equipment was not working correctly. Now for the most disappointing part. The food was atrocious. The buffet, when it was actually open, was of terrible quality. So bad, we all decided to skip the place all together. The pizza counter struggled to keep up with demand and served lame half pizzas that you would see at a theme park. Leaving the burger joint which admittedly was pretty decent and the main dining room as the only none up-charge meals. For me the main highlight from prior cruises are the experiences you get from the nightly dining. Well, on the Breeze the only experiences I got stained the whole trip. Every the meal took 2.5+ hours to be served. More often than not my requests would go ignored such as asking for a second appetizer. Note, I wasn’t asking for crazy quantities of food just an additional appetizer. So bad that on one occasion I was told the kitchen is closed. To top it of the food we did receive was tasteless across the board. I was so fed up I gave the sushi place a try and while it was okay the menu was ridiculously limited. Not all can be bad though right? Surely with a little booze everything will be alright. For this cruise I sprung on the drink package which is suppose to include all drinks up to $20. Without a doubt the worst decision of the cruise. It wasn’t as simple as ordering a drink and getting it. Every time it was a hassle which usually revolved around the bartender informing me what I can have not what I want. I’m sorry but for $858/2 adults your drinks shouldn’t be limited to premixed well garbage. I purchased the premium internet in order to complete a few things for work. During the 7 day sailing I was able to use the Internet well for maybe 30 minutes. It was a complete failure. Lastly, the Western Caribbean itinerary needs some reworking. Costa Maya is extremely limited as a port and the Belize tender situation is painful. I would not recommend this ship. Read Less

Embarkation was really easy with plenty of shire staff to answer questions, we didn’t have to wait long for even though we had arrived about an hour early. We chose an inside cabin as we knew we wouldn’t be in it for that long. Our Stateroom Stewart was lovely and our cabin was always kept extremely clean and well maintained, love the different towel animals left everyday. We did three organise excursions: The Secret River - very interesting and informative excursion deep under the caves in Cozumel, lovely clear, cool water and an amazing memory. Laughed a lot. Maya Ruins - Belize, quite a long bus drive on potholed roads. However the river cruise on a speed boat and then the walk to the ruins, again very informative guide who knew her history. I was amazed that e were allowed on climb up to the top - awesome view. Routan - we took a taxi/boat to Little French Key, an amazing small island that is also a rescue centre. This felt like paradise and it wasn’t very busy with lots to do. Mayan Coast - last Knute decision to go and swim with the dolphins, I was a bit apprehensive about this as I thought they might there as performers for us tourists but after enquiring they really do look after their animals with care. This was a Greta experience and so glad we did it in the end. We generally only ate breakfast and diner and I cannot complain about any of the meals and our server was extremely helpful. We only ate at the Lido area a couple of times and again nothing wrong with any of the choices we made. We had diner at the 555 Steakhouse one night and this was lovely, although the steak in the main dining area was just as good, it was much more personal and luxurious in the atmosphere. The entertainment was outstanding and the main playlist production theatre shows were amazing, I understand that due to the stage manager having an accident that two of the main production shows had to be changed to concert shows but rather than cancelling the cast put on a last minute show for us - well done guys. I loved the fact that there was live music at different parts of the ship and they didn’t overwhelm each other, from the country singers, trio of violinists, the High Seas group, piano man, comedy club...I loved it all. We choose to get away for a week and to see Mahogany Bay, Honduras, Belize and Cozumel, Mexico. The service on our cabin is excellent Darang provided us with everything we needed, clean our cabin and replenishes us with fresh towels everyday. Our Dinning room experience was also magnificent we were served at the Reflection Dinningroom of 3 excellent waiters Wibiyantha, Surya and Joel. Who make sure that our dining experience is a marvelous one and an experience we will never forget. Our friend's birthday and they went and over in greeting her a happy birthday. At the Lido deck Raxel, Manilyn, Joel, Zandra, Carlos, and Levender are excellent in helping us out, clearing and serving us with good food. My friend forgot her cellphone and Levender found her phone and my friend was able to get her phone back. Hows that for honesty. The friendly Raxel was very helpful in providing us future cruise with Carnival. She demonstrated her friendly and willing to serve the customer in the Lido deck and cheering and playing with the kids. The Cruise Director Kyndall Fire is funny and entertained us in the show, and in Bingo. Myra and Cattleya t the Pixel assisted us in our pictures and tolerated our changeable mind and was very patient with us even we went back and fort with the pictures. We end up satisfied with our pictures which we end up getting 40 pictures plus our canvasses. Cloud 9 spa was excellent Tiffany gave me a good service with my Ionithermage. I feel fresh and with more energy and was able to do the gym. Excellent crew We will surely cruise with Carnival Vista again. Read Less

We choose this cruise because of our proximity to the port of Mobile. It was cheap, at least it appeared to be. Seriously, think twice before booking. We have been on a lot of cruises. Carnival needs to retire this ship, work on it's staffing, attention to detail, service, food, and nickel and diming of guests This ship is disgusting. It smells, recently received a terrible health inspection report and it is obvious why. The Ludo buffet is absolutely gross. They served me a sandwich on a dirty plate. The food in the dining room is hit or miss, mostly miss. The standards are too low. If it was not for the bread, we would have not ate anything at least a couple of nights. We have decent palates, we are open to a lot of different types of food. But the quality was so poor, we often didn't have more than a couple of bites. Service was painfully slow and inattentive most of the time. As you walk around the ship, you will notice deferred maintenance. Mirrors missing from the ceiling in the dining room, faded bed lamps and ripped curtains in our staterooms, a faucet that is ready to come out of the sink in the women's bathroom near the casino. Nope, we will not be back. Carnival needs to get rid of this boat and raise it's standards for food and service. The sugar straws are also awful. Find another alternative and get rid of automatic gratuity. You are not giving anyone incentive to care. Read Less

We have traveled with Carnival several times, but this was probably the worst trip. Everything from overcooked food to fights in our hallway by guest. Our states attendant was seen twice the entire trip. She didn't even clean our room during our day in port. We asked for extra towels and pillows, which we never received. We also had to call the day of debarkment for an information sheet. When she brought it to us, it was brought with an attitude. The major issue I had with the cruise is the fact that the staff/management let people come to dinner in bathing suits only. There were multiple nights where people were walking around in thong bikini's and a fish net cover up. That is not okay. The food at dinner was horrible and portions were the smallest I have ever seen. Our waiter, Jose, was the ONLY good thing about the dinner service. Security was called out on our floor for a fight that occurred and nothing was done regarding it. If you are looking to get drunk and just hang out in your room, then this is your trip. But if you want to pay for a vacation and get your moneys worth, PLEASE do not cruise with this ship. Read Less

I was on the Sensation many many years ago. There was a sale I couldn't pass up. Cost for both my husband and I 377.00 with a 100.00 OBC for an inside room. I did get a call the night before because I am platinum that they had an ocean view no charge for us so I took it. I forgot about the fantasy ship purple and brass. Carnival really needs to do something when they do refurbishments they need to make more changes. The pool area was ugly. Maybe I am spoiled but I do not like the mega ships so I have cruised many times on sunshine ( my favorite ), Dream and others. I did fly down from CT I did spend money to get the ship so it wasn't that cheap when I added everything in. Our cabin was m39 and our room steward was awesome!! Our room was nice and cold and always clean. FYI no hair dryer. I forgot to bring mine. Sea days were boring. I am not into bingo , art sales etc. I spent all my time on the serenity area. Way too many kids for one small pool on the lido deck. They need more umbrella's . They only had 4 the first row and after that good luck. It was so hot we used the shower to cool off. If we went into the hot tub we went in early and sat in the shaded part. Food was the worst ever. Pizza , I would not even call it that. I loved it on the the other carnival cruises I have no clue what happened here. I had a grilled cheese at the deli and my bread wasn't even grilled. Dining room only item worth eating was the braised beef, and some of the soups. We did the buffet twice and at least we can maybe find a couple of items. The desserts were lacking at the buffet at night most were diet desserts. The water tasted like water that came out of garden hose. I was so upset not to enjoy any meals. Guys burger too much paprika on the fries and the burger was just okay. Crew staff was always smiling and I thought the ship was kept very clean . Now, the entertainment was awesome, this is what saved my trip. Deon the CD was terrific. Don't miss his trivia nights in the atrium lobby. He sings and dances and gets the crowd going. Just June the comedian was great. We went to all of her shows and the shows at the main theater were actually very good. Casino very smokey and small. Not many places to just chill inside and people watch. Just the main strip near the casino and coffee cafe. They didn't hound the people much for pictures so that was a plus. If they made some major cosmetic changes ( pool area, serenity, and upped their food I would try it again. I like the fact that it's a small ship. Read Less

Getting on the boat was a breeze! I am blown away by the service that we received while on board. Our servers in the restaurant were absolutely amazing. They called us by name every time they addressed us; they pulled out my chair for me; and I loved the dancing. Putu Agus was our lead server. He was awesome! So friendly and funny! There was plenty to do each day, and the drink package was well worth it. The drinks were delicious, and the bartenders were quick and always smiling. In fact, I never saw a single team member who was not smiling. Fellipe, the cruise director, was also wonderful. He was so full of “energy”, as he would say. I was always glad to see him hop on stage at the different events. Our room was a lot bigger than I expected. Wir did an excellent job at keeping our room tidy and checking in on us. There was also a ton of room for storage. He also did a great job with the towel animals! I loved seeing those each day! Getting on and off the boat was easy, yet still secure. The shops were nice, the casino had plenty of room, and the boat never felt crowded. I love that they had adult-only areas. It was a nice spot for people without kids. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this ship. It was lively, entertaining, spacious, and the service still blows my mind. Read Less

We traveled to Cozumel/ Progreso and it was fabulous. From the first time you stepped onto the ship you had a friendly welcome from the staff to the last day of the cruise. We flew into New Orleans and took the shuttle to the boat which was so convenient. Highly recommend to do this way. Since we shuttled we were able to board the ship right away and did not have to stand in the line. This process made boarding the ship go very quick and easy. Since the cabins would not be ready until 1:30pm we enjoyed out lunch on the Lido deck with plenty of options. Our luggage arrived at out door within plenty of time to unpack then go and explore the ship. The ship was very clean every day and our housekeeping staff were great. This is my 3rd cruise and we decided to get a porthole and was on the second floor. It was amazing to look out the porthole and see the sea right below you and be able to watch sunsets/sunrise. The cruise director KEVIN and his assistant GEORGA was AMAZING.. Kevin was so energetic and got the party going all the time. His enthusiastic nature was outstanding and you could tell he so enjoyed his job. He always got the people involved in all activities. We went to the nightly shows that were fabulous! We were able to do early dining at 6pm which was perfect to be able to do excursions, return get showered, eat then enjoy the evening shows. Our waiters at our table REGIE, JULIUS and I GEDE EDWIN were OUTSTANDING! They learned out names and drinks by the second night- AMAZING gentlemen!! Read Less

We like to cruise every year my family Husband and two teenage boys. This was our 5th cruise and our second on Carnival. We flew to New Orleans and stayed at the Four Points Sharaton located in the French Quarter ( not recomemended for families as it is located on Bourbon St in the middle of the French Quarter and the Kids will not enjoy the experience. Young Adults who love to party will love it. The cruise from New Orleans was a nice change from other cruises as the first part of the cruise we were able to sit on the Balcony and watched the river it was nice to not be out to sea until well after sunset. Again on the return trip watching the lights along the river was relaxing well worth the balcony. The Embarkation was quick and pain less from the hotel check out to the Lido deck was approx. 30 minutes total. We checked out at 1055 and we were on board at the Buffett by 1130. Dining we were assigned the Upper Golden dining room First off our servers in the dinning room were excellent. Sunu, Myat and Tangkas were friendly and quite fun we enjoyed conversations and had a great time with them. The dancing during table service was fun. However, I do not like the set dining times. I tried to get My time dining and was on a wait list and had the late dining. This is my biggest complaint for Carnival. They seem to try to co-ordinate shows for the various dining times however, I feel I miss something when I have the late dinning times and there is one show. You really have to look at the Fun Times to get the best of everything. I did not have very many hot meals warm but not Hot. The meals were delicious. Soups were usually hot but not the main courses. When you are feeding 1500 people between two dining rooms at one time that can be challenging. The Sea day Brunch was well used on this particular cruise. Line ups when ever we attended. The service was slower but I didn't have to fight the crowds at the buffett. (TIP) Check the Fun Times for the days the dining room is open on Port days there are far fewer people these days in the dining room as most don't realize it is open. The Kids programs My kids were engaged and I rarely saw them one was with the Circle C group and the other was with the O2 and both were gone off to the activites and did not come looking for me what so ever. I was usually in bed before they were. They both loved the cruise. On the first day a parent needs to check them in we did not realize that you could sign them in earlier in the day, and the sign in was at 830 and our dining was at 815 in the middle of our dining time. Our kids rarely ate with us other then the one manditory dinner I make them have with me. The clubs break for dinner if you have an early dining time it works out for you, me not so much. Entertainment We were able to get to one show the Motown it was excellent I have seen this production on another ship and it was still a good show. If you like Motown you will enjoy the show. The Comedy club This seemed to be a hit. It was a packed room every night for the late show at 10:00. We made the 11:15 show once and we made the pg show with our kids at 7:00 a few times. There were four different Comedians and we saw all four they were great. The Sing along with Cassidy-Rae She will be leaving the ship in a couple weeks so If you have the chance go into the Cinn-o-bar and sing along. Cassidy-Rae will try to full fill your requests. She downloaded the song Beth by Kiss listened for a short amount of time and was able to play the song and did an awesome job. Impressive how she is able to figure out the cords and play as quickly as she did. The Art Auctions I enjoy the Art auctions it is entertaing during the day. If anything go for the Champagne. Jade the Auctioneer and his team were excellent he did try to put everyone's request up for bidding. He spent a few minutes describing different pieces and moved along quickly as possibe. He did not completly focus on one artist which was nice. I did not attend the presentations as I had seen the Peter Max and Thomas Kinkade presentations on previous cruises and I was not interested. The Team were quite attentative during a discusion Kayla had picked up that I liked a certain artist and dug deep into the vault to pull out a picture that would not normally have come out on the floor. Which was nice to see they appreciate the cruisers and don't put what they want out on the floor. If you are looking for an artist be sure to ask this team they will find what you are looking for. Ports Montego bay; Grand Cayman; Cozumel Montego Bay there is nothing immediately off the ship. It is quite a walk to the downtown and the beach with the Markets. We decided to do an excursion through the ship as I wasn't sure if I would be left behind with the relaxed Jamaican attitude. Carnival will not leave you if you if you book through them there was a tour who came back late and the ship waited. River rafting and Beach Adventure. The River rafting was excellent had a great time not too physical. be sure to bring along some money to purchase drinks along the way. The Beach portion of the tour, I could have done without. We went to the Hard Rock Cafe Beach it was small and you had to pay extra for the use of chairs and umbrellas on the beach. It was a very small beach and a lot of Jelly fish were in that day. Good thing the beach visit was only an hour. Grand Cayman Lots of shopping right off the ship. We shopped till we dropped and enjoyed the day. Cozumel Again shops right off the ship. I have been to Cozumel before and should have done an exucursion here this time, to enjoy myself. And since this is a popular port with 6 ships in port. Excursions will book up. If you like the markets in Mexico then it wasn't a bad day. Other then it was soooo hot. but, you can't control Mother Nature. Carnival Hub App This is a great way to quickly look up where to eat and the activites of the day. You can track your spending and book excursions. There is also a chat between cruisers for $5 per device. I do recommend downloading the App. (TIP) Read the Fun Times as well. As not all activities are on the App. For example The App stated check in to the Camp Ocean was at various times however, this was also for the older groups as well and I would not have had to go during dinner. I didn't know it referred to all the Kids Clubs. And some repetitive activites are not always on the App. They are getting better with the App and I suspect Carnival will go paperless soon however, it still needs some work. I avoided the Casino and activies near the casino as much as possible since it is the primary smoking area and I don't not enjoy the smell of smoke. Which is hard to do since it is in the middle of the ship. I found there were some ignorant smokers who were smoking practically everywhere. If you can believe one guy was smoking in the elevator. Another on the balcony. The ventilation on the 5th floor is not great and you do smell smoke around the Casino. Most portraits are in this area and I did not wish to be in Elegant dress and walk through smoke. Disembarking We had a late flight and wanted the latest possible time off. We enjoyed breakfast in the dinning room and waited up on the Lido deck until they called our number. The line moved with little wait and the whole process was less than 15 minutes. TIP: Pack a sweater/jacket as the air conditioning works very well on this ship. I often went outside to warm up. All and all my family and I enjoyed our vacation and will cruise again. Read Less

Seven six day cruise from Tampa - Grand Cayman - Roatan - Beleize - Cozumel - Tampa This rust bucket of a boat shout be taken to the Mariana Trench and scuttled along with the crew. I have never had a more miserable disgusting experience in my entire life. But then again if you want a truly horrible experience with nasty crew, slop for food (brought some home for the dogs - they declined to eat it), a cess pool of bacteria in your cabin, fighting every day to try and get some miserable scraps to eat and being treated like a child, herded like sheep, talked down to and treated like a second class citizen, then this is the cruise for you. Carnival - what a joke - are you guys serious. Our cruise got cut a day short due to weather conditions that never materialized. Not only did they have the audacity to cancel for reasons still oblivious to the some 2000 poor souls on board, but you also had the deceitfulness to try and tell us that it was for our own safety - Answer 1 simple question - How is dumping 2000 people in a port with no available hotels, flights all booked up, gas stations running out of gas and in the path of a hurricane, safe???? At this time we where 1500 miles away from the hurricane and heading to Cozumel. No - here's an idea, lets steam into Tampa, ruin everyone's cruise, keep everyone on board like prisoners for several hours at the dock and then rush them off and tell them it's their fault. Hurry and get the next passengers on board and steam right back to where we started. That way we can make more money - That's what it's about - The money. Maybe we weren't spending enough or running out, so you thought the next cruise would have fuller wallets. The captain and his cronies decided to have a Q & A session in the Phantom Theatre to sell this idea and avoid a mutiny. Lots of Q's and very little A's. Now there's a surprise. Where did they dig this captain up from? Davy Jones' Locker maybe? Personally I think he was the guy at the ice cream stand in Belize who was coshed on the back of the head and press ganged into joining Carnival 50 years ago. Is keel-hauling still done today? - I think I know candidate. Well at least that gave the Captain and his cronies the excuse to run and hide and never be seen for the next 2 days. Did they help anybody make arrangements - Offer free 'wifi' for people to make arrangements or provide any form of assurance - I'll tell you tomorrow - at least that's what they said... And as for the cruise director, he needs to go back to HSN at a 2.00am in the morning slot selling kitchenware to anyone who is drunk enough to use their credit card (Boop). Guest Services (Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here) - Are you rude, obnoxious, un-empathetic, love blaming others and offer no assistance to anyone apart from using the all too familiar Carnival line, "It's your own fault", then get a job here. You will fit in perfectly. Personally I wouldn't allow these people to look after my cat. Still it made good entertainment. I didn't realize there were so many excuses for incompetence. Ask for Ivanka, and have the ultimate experience in Serbian Customer Service - It's a hoot. Horiatio's Lido Cafe - Yep the one arm chef put his telescope to his blind eye and declared "I see no hordes of hungry passengers" This place should be condemned. Imagine a herd of hungry bison stampeding around the deck, pushing and shoving and loading enormous amounts of food (and I use that term loosely) on their plates so they can feed their hungry offspring. That's breakfast. As soon as they dole out the slop, the unwashed masses come charging. Belize is in the top ten countries of the world for homicide and the 41% of the people live below the poverty line, and it was still a more pleasant and safer experience to eat there rather than this gutter boat. Bacchus Dining Room - OMG Looks like this place was decorated by 'Ester Extraordinaire' on crack. What a horrendous assault on the eyeballs. I had to take pictures and send them to my friends all over the world -They'll still be laughing when we have the second coming of Christ!. Look I thought, decent food, a decent menu, something that tastes better then licking the mould off my shower curtain. Unfortunately duped again. Small gelatinous cold blobs on a plate. A very long wait between blobs and the usual suspects trying to ruin a hopefully peaceful dinner by shoving overpriced alcohol shots down your throat and endless photographers trying to make a quick buck by snapping photographs every 5 minutes. Looks like it's back to Horatio's to wade among the bison and wait for a crusty pizza (again) without parmesan cheese because "We don't have any" Drinks Package - Don't bother, there's only so many ways to flavour water these days. That won't stop waiters trying to push cocktails down your throat every five minutes even when you don't drink or clearly look underage. Yes folks I seen it happen on several occasions and waiters do accept cash from teens. Entertainment - There was the sound of cats fighting with baboons in the Atrium one day - Found out this was the string section trying to hash out something that a first grade high school band could perform better. Or maybe they were practicing "Abide with me" for when the ship goes down. Cabin Staff - Don't let the maid into your cabin. By don't I mean 'barricade the door' because even when you shout, "I'm in the shower" "I'm naked" "Don't come in" several times she will still keep knocking then use her pass key to break in anyway. I swear she puts an extra layer of filth around the shower everytime she comes in. Dr Frankenstein's Nite-club - Went there once, left after the first fight/riot and decided not to come back for the rest of the entertainment. Maybe I should have stayed and placed bets. I did see a lady who resembled something like a small moose, who seemed to be winning. Would probably have had better odds than the rigged casino. High points - Getting off the boat and away from Carnival for the few hours each day that we could. Knowing that even if we built a small raft and paddled to Cuba nothing could ever be as bad as this cruise again. After all the only way from rock bottom is up. Low points - Anything to do with Carnival or the 'ship of the damned' called Miracle. Getting 2 bags destroyed by giving them to the porters, having stuff stolen from our luggage, having stuff stolen from our cabin. Being blamed for everything that was out if our control. My Advice - Stay away from Carnival. I won't hold my breath waiting for any form of compensation. This company doesn't care what happens. They only care about how much money they can fraudulently gain from your wallet without fear of repercussion or reprisal. If one person reads this and decides not to spend their hard earned money with them I will feel happy I have helped someone avoid the misery that lies before them if they sail this gutter boat with this gutter company. Enjoyed this ship overall. One of the best casinos/dealers I’ve experienced although the drink service there was virtually non-existent. Pools need to be refurbished. Cabin was in excellent shape for an older ship. Tampa was one of the smoothest embarkations ever. Did not care for the entertainment on board. Never found a singer or band that knocked my socks off. If you want a ship for the tall water slides & fancy amenities, it may not be for you. If you like a good casino with plenty of tables & machines or you like the nightlife bar scene, this is a good option. Mahogany Bay & Cayman are really nice ports. If you go to Mahogony Bay, go to the far right side of the beach (nearest the ocean) - fantastic keyboard player that sounds like Ray Charles. He made our day. Our cruise was cut short due to hurricane Dorian. A lot of people on board were very upset that we skipped our last port and headed to Tampa. I believe Carnival made the right decision and I appreciate the way it was handled by refunding 1 day including all prepaid options we made. They can’t control the weather and cannot predict when & where a storm will go. Cmon people !!! We got home safe. Read Less

This was our 24th cruise on Carnival and would rate this one of the best!!! We like the size of the freedom. The crew was top notch, always happy and speaking to us in a happy manor. We found the food in main dinning room to be very good, and the service to be outstanding. We have cruised on the Carnival Vista 4 times this year as well, the Freedom we find is a much better ship, there are a few things we wish the Freedom had that the Vista has, but overall would choose the Freedom over Vista. We wish Carnival would make the casino NO smoking, the smoke was not nearly as bad as on the Vista. My wife and I are ex smokers but find the smoke very hard to tolerate. The service in main dinning room was far better than any ship we have been on in the past hew years. The only draw back was the steak house, the food was great, service was very poor. We judge the steak house in comparison to past experiences, we have eaten in carnival steak houses well over 40 times, and due to cut backs by Carnival, it has become not a great experience as it once was. I know everyone is entitled to their opinions and so I always read reviews with an open mind and then I like to go back and give my experience based on my travels with the cruise line. This was our 9th Carnival Cruise. To be honest we are 15 days away from Platinum so that is our goal. Embarkation was swift and easy. This was our first VIP entrance since we were staying in a suite - and it was truly faster - but then again Carnival has made strides in improving and making this process as quick as it possible. Once on the boat - our room 7312 was ready at 1:30 as told to us inside the terminal. Our bags made it quickly to our room also. We did not buy the Drink Package (alcohol) we prefer to smuggle in Rum Runners. We did buy one over priced six pack of Sprite and Coke for mixers and a 4 pack of beer - also overpriced but a little cheaper pre-cruise. I would suggest buying and paying for as much as possible before a cruise. Tends to be cheaper and less of a bill at the end. The Internet and hub worked just fine and was quicker than experience last year on different ship. Much better and we shared on social for the adults and a basic for the two teenagers, again purchased prior to leaving. The ship was nice. It has three small pools. So we always sat between the two pools on deck 9/10. Plenty, plenty of chairs to be had by all. You should remember their is a set of stairs in Vincent's bar which leads up to the walkway where the photos are taken and you can get to the piano bar and pixels too. We watched a video on YouTube on our exact room and some tips on navigating the ship and from their it was easy. Quick to navigate in a day or two. Food was good. They repeat the menu every week so they have it down to a science. Now you can get a molting chocolate cake for the whole table if you want. Where improvements have been made are on the sit down breakfasts and the "sea day brunch". Both were fabulous to us - since we can recall the days the sit down was the same as the buffet food wise. The bagel tower and the 24 hr French toast to die for. Entertainment was good. Fun Squad was great too. We choose to interact, greet others with a smile and become a part of the cruise family for the week. Robbie, Ritchie and Jake were real, real good and funny and you could have a blast if you wanted. Don't be afraid to join them - the payoff is rich in kindness and stewardship of the cruise world and passion of the fun-ship. It truly is part of the experience. We went to Grand Cayman - did our own thing at Eden Rock and Smith Cove. Amber Cove was nice but the country is so poor looking. Belize City was again nice and the pier was great.. lots of fun things to do right there. The last tender was not good at all - took nearly and hour and a half to leave and get back on boat. Way too long. Disembarkation - piece of cake, we were in a suite so you get to leave early -but what was bad was the terminal - they had all zones of luggage kind of thrown together at some point. Not a big fan of that since with the conveyors they had made the process better.. but someone just started moving luggage cause the terminal got backed up. The cruise ship itself did a bad job keeping us posted on Hurricane Dorian. It did not affect our trip on the boat - I understand - but for some it affects/affected their lives - so they could have been more open. In closing - the ship was nice. I do not think it needs to be overhauled and updated. Staff was great and it was a good trip and vacation. In my opinion a litte homework ahead of time goes a long way in enjoying a trip. Peace and safe travels. Read Less

My husband and I chose this cruise because it was his very 1st cruise 5 years ago. We have both been on this ship 4 times this is my 87th Cruise and his 22nd cruise. I am Diamond on carnival so we decided to book this for a quick getaway. The weather was great we drove to the port of Tampa. We live in Fort Myers so it took 2 hours 25 minutes. We got on the ship no problem and explored the upgraded areas which looked very nice. Now, being a Diamond member on Carnival use to afford you some extra perks. Well they must have forgot the perks on this ship. We had no bar soap, we had to ask for a fan and no diamond gift. We received a lanyard on day one which I never use and we suspect that they thought that was the diamond gift. Cheesy and cheap. Anyway, this is a very cheap cruise meaning that is it is inexpensive and unfortunately it shows. The clientele on board were simply out of control. I can't describe it I'm only in my fifties and I'm no prude but enough was enough. As a Diamond member we did get a brunch with the captain and the officers but although the brunch was nice there really was no mingling with the captain or any of the offices. We just received a photo. Usually they have a cocktail party and you can talk to everyone. This was certainly not the case, and no mingling with the big-wigs.I just feel carnival has gone downhill. Even the food is going downhill. Not sure if I will ever book another one on carnival. I know the week long cruises are much better than the weekend cruises as far as the guests go. I am a platinum on Norwegian and we have frequented Norwegian cruise line during the last 4 years. NCL gives you so many perks and its worth a little extra money to get respectful people on board. If you want disrespectful people all around you, go on this ship!!!! And if your Diamond, expect ZERO PERKS!!! Read Less

So to first begin our room was not set up like we asked for. There was no menu for room service or pen to write down breakfast room service. No complementary water in our rooms either. The staff are not nearly as talkative or friendly as they were on the Victory! Internet did not work on my husbands phone that we paid for. The fun shops should be renamed dud shops. They had nothing no shot glasses or cool keepsakes, nor cool toys for kids. The children’s activities are done later in the evening during most kids nap times. The food was extremely bland my two year old loves pizza but hated the pizza on the ship. The cruise director Kevin was annoying he tried way to hard to be friendly and liked that it was annoying to hear him. There was no music ever on the lido deck no one was dancing. The play area for kids is completely unsafe and none of the toys were bolted down! Not the ship for me! If you go carnival stick with the ship you love! Read Less
