Family Harbor Suite (FS) Cabin Reviews

Cabin was clean and neat all the time. Even though they try to convince you to only attend to it once. I still like the bed and towels refreshed in the morning and bed turned down at night.

The suites in the Family Harbor area have a closed off bed area, which is nice, but very limited storage for an 8-night cruise. The curtained off area also has no ventilation and can get quite hot, even with the AC set for the lowest setting. Perhaps having something other than the heavy duvets would be better. I was an adult in that area and the bed is not a standard size twin. It is VERY small. However, perhaps the top bunk can be pulled down and that may be traditional size. The Family Harbor room comes with some perks including one night of free babysitting from 10pm to 1pm. One big perk of the suite is that there are two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bathtub. One person can be in the toilet/shower area while the other person can be using the tub (which has a shower as well). This was incredibly convenient. It is also great if you have little ones who need baths. The lounge area is very nice with its own breakfast, snacktime from 3-5, and I think another snacktime later in the evening. There is also an espresso machine for the adults. The main downsides are that they can be noisy with the pounding from above with the galley and that there is no storage. We had 3 adults in the room and were packed in. Up to 5 can fit in the room and I am not sure how that would work on an 8-day cruise, even with children. The laundry facility is located right out of the the Family Harbor area down the hall and is $6/load, I believe. Read Less

Sleepless on the Vista : Cabin 2414

We all had noise every night on and off for at least 6 hours total. maybe would sleep from midnight to 2 am. These rooms are under the dish washing station in the galley. You would be in bed and it sounded like someone was on our balcony sliding the table and chairs around. It was horrible because we really did love the room size and layout. the lounge was awesome. Carnival really needed to put these rooms in another location. Read Less

Noise from galley above dropped this from a 5 to a 3 star, and that is being generous, because sleep is an issue if you are a light sleeper. You will hear noise every night from above. Our 11 year olds slept right through the noise, but I took a sleeping pill almost every night and used ear plugs. My husband managed to sleep, but he has some mild hearing loss and is used to sleeping through noise due to work requirements. The good part is that the suite is large with two sleeping areas (up to 5), and an extra bathroom with short, deep tub, and sink- no 2nd toilet. The balcony is extra long with only half covered by a lifeboat. Two tvs, so the kids could get in some cartoon time while adults caught up on the news or other programming. Main tv is a very large flat screen. There is a large curtain that can cocoon the kids and provides total darkness for naps. Almost directly across from the family lounge, did not hear hallway noise or the door opening across the hall. Lounge amenities were very nice- hot breakfast, sandwiches in late afternoon, snacks at bedtime, 24 hour ice cream and access to a fridge with milks and yogurt. We used the cappuccino machine daily. There is also a tea station. Would book again, just not this particular suite, unless the price were right. This cabin was booked as an upgrade from an OV, but I would avoid this location unless you are a deep sleeper. We did not use all the other perks you get with young kids, they must be under 12 to use the free kids' meals and one free night owls babysitting. Our boys do not use Camp Carnival much anymore, but found friends to hang out with in the lounge, use the PlayStation, etc. I have one child that hates to wear shoes, so the family lounge area away from the food was nice where he could hang out barefoot without me sending him back to the cabin to get shoes;) Read Less

We stayed in cabin 2415. The set up was absolutely perfect for a young family. The kids loved having the separate couch/bed area with the curtain. They called in their fort. Every night the kids would go to sleep, we would close the curtain and were able to relax in the room or out on the balcony. Highly recommend this cabin category with young families. Being close to the Family Harbor Lounge was also a plus. Breakfast in the morning was great (although we opted for room service most days). Only downside is these cabins are right below the Galley. We heard banging and noise all night long. Kids slept with a sound machine so they weren't really affected but we definitely didn't sleep that great on the cruise because of it. Read Less

The best part was that the second bed had its own TV and a privacy curtain. So we could close off the kids at night. The person who took care of the cabin was fantastic ! When we saw the Havana suites we were a little more interested in that style and it had a private pool area until 5 each day. However, as we sat back there for a few days you could really feel the movement of the ship so we were very happy with the location of the family harbor suite. Read Less
