We had just about given up on a carnival cruise lines, BUT thankfully booked on the Vista and my faith in carnival has been restored! It is a relatively new ship, nice decor, light colors, inviting for conversations. This is not a lavish ship with glass elevators, fancy fixtures etc but very welcoming. We liked that it was open, friendly and clean. Our room was perfect for us. Handicap accessible, lots of room and easy to get in and out of. We were on deck 11 (Spa Deck) and was one of the nicest rooms we have had. We did have a window which allowed us to watch the sun rise. Our room steward was great and kept our room tidy at all times. As a handicap (wheelchair bound) person this ship is tight. I avoided the LIDO deck because it was difficult to manipulate the wheelchair between tables, food lines and general seating area. I NEVER waited in a food line because my chair would not fit without moving the barricades etc. I did eat outside where there was more room. The hamburgers were wonderful and easy to get too. Pizza was the normal cruise ship pizza but easy to get to. Up on the 15th floor there is a wonderful "salad" bar. Great fresh food, tasty and easily accessible. The Pig and Anchor on deck 5 is a little hard to find but great food. Worth the search!! Evening dining room was easy to get around in and the service was great compared to the last couple cruises we have been on. Food was good, typical of cruise, yet lots of selections to choose from. I am not a "foodie" so I had no trouble finding things to eat. Servers we much improved from previous experiences. The servers remembered our requests for ice tea, extra better without being reminded every night. They called us by name so I know there are trying to improve their guests relations. Our table of 8 gave each server an additional $20/30 tip per person along with the "standard" tip added to your room. If we ordered room service or coffee in the morning everyone received a tip. Extra service should be rewarded!! Due to the difficulty (which may be only my problem) getting around the LIDO deck we generally went down to the dining room for breakfast. Again, great service and tasty breakfast selection. We did not use any of the specialty restaurants. Guess we are "cheap" but heard great reviews from those who did! Even those ordering in the main dining off the speciality menus loved the food. It did look tasty if you like fresh seafood! I felt carnival really tried to give us a great experience. I really missed the carnival/caribbean vibe on the out decks. Very little music to bob your head too during dining hours. I used to love to get onboard that first day and hear the music playing getting you ready for an exciting week ahead. Really missed that! The decks are super busy - on the upper decks you had to up and out before 6-7 am to get deck chairs. One chair can usually be found but 2-3 chairs in one group was a bit more difficult. Still it can be done! Beautiful ship with lots of things to explore. Read Less

Carnival is a great value and we wanted to try the new Vista. We loved it. It was totally handicap accessible for my son who is 16. He was able to get up to the Sports and Waterpark Deck on 12 which was great. We loved all of the shows. Flick was our personal favorite. Our cruise director, Mike, is by far the best cruise director on the seas. This was our second cruise with him and he makes it so much fun. The IMAX theatre was awesome. Just wish they had more choices in the beginning of the cruise. The only bad thing about the Vista is the Liquid Lounge. The set up is terrible. There was a line each night to get in which was hard for my son in the wheelchair. I just hope on future ships, they go back to the auditorium type area so everyone has a good view. Regarding the food, we love Guys Burgers and 24 hour pizza place. The formal cruise nights had the better food. It was just average the other nights. I do not recommend the chicken at all. The Carnival chocolate melting cake is always to die for and what I look forward to every cruise. We loved the Itinerary of Grand Turk, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts, and St. Marten. It is so much prettier, green and mountainous. We went to Margaritaville in Grand Turk. We walked around and went to the Fort in San Juan. We did the Grand Tour of St. Kitts and stayed on the ship for St. Marten since we have been there before. During the cruise, I bought the Thermal Spa package which I loved. So relaxing and a little me time during the cruise. I also had a massage that was very good. The only about the massage is they push you into having something else done like facial or products. I hate that. Overall, the cruise was a huge success and I booked the Vista for next Easter too. Read Less

5 of 8 days was terrible. I wrote the president and CFO Mr. Donald 2ce with no response. HE DOESN'T care about you. I wrote customer service 2ce. They DON'T care about you. LET THE BUYER BEWARE..... If you buy the lowest price, you're going to be disappointed..... There is definitely a lack of communication aboard the ship. It operates under extreme confusion. I'll never take another one with this cruise line again. Day 1 was so confusing. We went to orientation and was asked if we had special needs. It's best not to say yes because you will be told to leave the orientation about 5 minutes early. After you get up and are at the door, you'll be called out by the cruise director and told you can't leave. When you ask another crew member why they had you get up in the 1st place, they will tell you to leave. That's just the beginning of one of the most confusing cruises I've ever taken. Also if you need a cane you'll be told there's a 50.00 Fee associated with it for cane rental. Well that's completely FALSE. There is no charge... Just a 40.00 deposit. If you smoke cigars the booking agent will flat out LIE to you and share there's 3 cigar bars on board and there's not even 1. Also the internet you have to pay 30.00 to use will malfunction. This is all in the 1st day...Day's 2 - 5 were just as sad but I think you'll get the picture. Also you may just get stranded on an island somewhere because the printed material doesn't match the real time for embarkation and debarkation. We barely boarded the ship in Puerto Rico and Carnival left 4 people stranded and they had more than enough time to let them board. The people were right at the embarkation gate and the crew pulled up the ramp without letting them walk 100 feet. I don't know if they were related or not but I do know they weren't back on the ship. And I told security but they could care less. They acted as if I was talking to a brick wall. I do hope that family is reading my review and asks me to testify for them when they sue for damages. I'll GLADLY do it...WORST Customer care Anywhere... Read Less
