A lot of staff members gave us wrong information. We paid for FTTF but were told to get in the regular line when boarding. After boarding, we were supposed to have immediate access to our room, but there were signs on the doors saying, "Do not enter. Rooms available at 1:30." I went to guest services and spoke to 3 different people explaining that I had FTTF and was supposed to be able to access my room. They didn't seem to know what I was talking about and kept repeating that my room would be available at 1:30. As a 1st time cruiser, I read all of the dress code rules for dinner and packed accordingly. However, the dress code rules are not enforced in the dining room at all. Most people had on flip flops, slides, tshirts, and basketball shorts. When I asked on the 1st night, i was told that it was because people hadn't received their luggage. However, people were dressed the same on the other nights, too. I could've saved a lot of room in my suitcase if I'd known. The safety briefing was also very stressful because no one could tell us where to go. We asked multiple crew members and was told something different each time. We went upstairs and then downstairs and then back up over and over again. Massage in the spa - don't waste your money. We were told no couple massages. My husband's massage room had no windows for views of the ocean. My room was right next to the hair salon, so the noise from hair dryers and people talking was not relaxing at all. The package included a mini facial but was told I had to receive it at the same time as the massage. Due to our assigned dinner time, I didn't have time for the facial and was not given any other option. Read Less

Our 4 day cruise to the Bahamas and Half Moon Cay from Miami was wonderful. Flying in from Minnesota we were looking forward to soaking up the sunny warm weather since we left sub zero weather at home. We always try to fly in a day before the cruise leaves port to make sure we do not have any travel delays. Once arriving at the Port of Miami, our luggage was left curbside and we proceeded to priority check in and with in 45 minutes we were on the Lido deck sitting in a beach chair soaking up the wonderful rays of the sun. We have been on many cruises and love to book a balcony room so we are able to enjoy ordering room service and having our early morning coffee watching the sunrise and arriving in the port of call. We loved all the tile work and décor on the Victory. Our room was great and we had tons of storage room on the shelves available. However, we will not pick mid ship again on the Verandah deck, since we were under the lido deck and heard many noises, from moving tables and chairs to stomping to the music most of the night. The spring breakers were entertaining and very well behaved. We had many conversations with many college groups who were on vacation to enjoy the warm weather, relax and party. Half Moon Cay was very enjoyable with sugar sand beaches, beach chairs, a beach bar and a great BBQ lunch was prepared and available upon arrival. We chose not to do an excursion this trip, since we wanted to just sit on the beach enjoy the view of the water and soak up as much vitamin D as we could during our stay on the island. We had been to Nassau in the past, so during this visit we visited a local botanical garden, Ardastra Gardens and Zoo. The trained flamingos were great along with seeing many birds, turtles, reptiles and many beautiful flowers and trees. it was a short taxi ride from the dock. Senior Frogs is our favorite place to sit by the water and enjoy a beverage before we head back to the ship. We try to plan a cruise yearly, since we feel get the best value for our money. We like to have our destinations determined, and not have to decide where to go for dinner or decide what entertainment to enjoy. Being on a cruise gives you many opportunities to enjoy many different types of food, many different types of entertainment, or just sit and do nothing if we choose, all on a large floating city. We look forward to next year, we have already booked a 7 day Disney cruise from San Juan. We will be traveling with our children and grandchildren in January of 2020. Read Less

This was my first cruise and my best friend's second. We were celebrating our Spring Break and her birthday. Overall, we had an AMAZING time and can't wait to do this itinerary again! I'll hit the highlights! Ship: The Victory is beautiful, clean and easy to navigate. Cabin: We booked a deal where our room was chosen for us and we were luckily placed in a beautiful ocean view room. Our steward was super friendly and made sure to speak each time he saw us. My friend was given a gift card to the spa and a coupon for the photo shop which came in handy! We loved the towel animals and our room was clean and fresh each day. I got better sleep on this cruise than I ever have!! I almost felt guilty for how much I slept but that's how comfortable the room was! Dining: The food was amazing every night! The service was also absolutely wonderful. Ports: This was an overnight Nassau cruise. We enjoyed the culture and vibrance of Nassau as soon as we stepped off the ship. Some people complain about the pushiness of the vendors as you are leaving the port, but we just took in stride as part of the experience. It only lasted a few minutes before everything fizzled out and after that, the vibe was very laid back. We walked to Junkanoo Beach and ate the best fresh, seafood from a shack. They were also playing music and selling drinks. A wonderful time. While there we also did the Catamaran Sail and Snorkel excursion. It was a great time although the boat was a bit crowded so the catamaran wasn't exactly relaxing, but the snorkeling was great and there were beautiful fish. My friend is not a strong swimmer, but the crew helped her several times to get her bearings and still enjoy the experienced. We topped our day off at Fat Tuesdays which is always a good time! I got married on the Carnival Victory because it had a short itinerary on the only date during the year that worked for my maid of honor and the wedding package was awesome. There are some things that Carnival did very, very well, but it failed in crucial areas. First, the good. The wedding package is fantastic for the couple that doesn't want too much fuss or planning, is budget-conscious, and isn't a stickler with the small traditions. A typical cruise wedding budget is $10k, a far cry from $35k, and that was the huge appeal of Carnival. We had 50 guests onboard, with an open bar, nice hors d'oeuvres and a tasty wedding cake all included for the "Time to Celebrate Big" package ($2,500). Who can complain about a price like that? We were extremely surprised by how good the food was. Moreover, the boarding process was incredibly smooth. Because the wedding parties are the first to board, we didn't have to deal with long lines -- just breezed through check-in. The negative side is that everyone is sitting together for 1.5 hr as the ship is cleared by customs, so for the bride/groom that doesn't want to see each other prior to the wedding, this would be a deal-breaker. My husband and I actually preferred this arrangement because we got to spend quality time with our guests as they waited to board with us. But we're also not the type to get queasy before something like this. Carnival also seems to have sent us a dedicated photographer who was killer at her job. We really loved working with Rosanna Garcia. Despite meeting me when I put on my dress, she fit into our day naturally and got who I am. It came out in her work, and we splurged on the most expensive photograph package because she did such a great job. Now, the bad. Every morning, my guests and I would compare notes as to what commotion disrupted our sleep the night before. We all slept on different decks. Sometimes, it was fights between the guests, but most often, it was just partiers who got too loud and too profane. One night, the loud screaming and laughing lasted so long that I poked my head out only to be told by a fellow cruise to "Go back to bed, b****." This is not a problem I've ever had on any other cruise. No one from Carnival did anything to stop this behavior, and in fact, Carnival contributed to the problem by broadcasting over the PA between 4 and 5 am on two separate occasions for people to rejoin their parties. I was grateful to get a good night's sleep on the plane AFTER the cruise. This really shouldn't be. My neighbors also smoked weed at all hours of the day and blasted music (not the clean version, of course), which limited my ability to enjoy the double private deck in my suite. Need I mention that there were toddlers in my party? Both of these problems could easily be remedied if cruise staff took a more active role to step in when hallways become noisy and ensure that the few obnoxious guests are not ruining the experience for the others. Security could also check for drugs during embarkation, but especially after the problem becomes apparent. No such steps seem to have been taken. Overall, I will not be cruising with Carnival again. This is sad, considering I got married at this venue. Read Less

The cruise fitted in with the timing of our holiday in USA and was during our time in Florida. Our OV cabin on deck 1 was clean and comfortable and close enough to the lifts for convenience but far enough away for noise reduction. The size was also what we have got used to in RCI.. The food in the MDR was of very good quality though I think there was a lack of variety. Serving staff were great. We had "My time dining" but once had to wait about 1/2hr for a table to become available.. Unlike RCI they didn't allow you to book to suit your evening plans it was on a first come first sat arrangement. As always seating in the buffet is scarce in peak times but the food was pretty good. Midnight pizza went down well, particularly with a pint of Guinness. The 2 performance shows were very good and the late night comedians entertaining. The Bar staff (particularly the Alchemy Bar) were very accommodating and friendly. Two main peeves. The fact that if 1 wants the Alcohol package everyone in the cabin has to have the package. The only saving grace is that it includes soft drinks as well. The other being that smoking is still allowed in the casino... This would be Okay IF you didn't need to walk through the casino to go from bow to stern (& vice versa) and IF they didn't put the best dance band in the casino with the only dance area being the passageway. I enjoyed walking the 2 ports, Nassau and Freeport, seeing the markets, museums and talking to locals. It would have been nice if Carnival gave you info on the ports themselves and not just concentrated on selling port tours... Still had a good time. Even a bad day on a cruise is better than a good day in the office. Read Less

Me and my husband and 17 year old son just got back from our cruise. It seems that every cruise I go on I am less and less impressed. The ship is older and it shows. Alot of corrosion and rust all over even the pool. There were alot of young kids because it was spring break so I was happy to find an adult only pool and hot tubs on the back of the boat. The pools were salt water and VERY salty. There was what was supposed to be a waterfall by the adult pool but it was not working and alot of the tiles were falling off of it and going into the pool. There were 2 hot tubs by the adult pool and one was so hot no one could go in it. The bar service was good especially if you go to the same bar and tip them. We purchased the Cheers beverage package which already includes tip but if you give the same bartender a dollar here and there they will cater to you more. The food was not that good. The first day they had fish and lamb at the buffet which my husband doesn't eat either. There wasn't alot of desserts to choose from either. There was a couple soft serve ice cream machines that my son loved. Also there is a pizza station where they make 4 or 5 different pizzas 24/7. The pizza was nothing great, paper thin crust, but it was something to snack on by the pool. There was also hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken strips for a few hours a day by the pool. Our room was clean but my son had to sleep on a couch that was maybe 5 feet long. I thought we would have a pull out couch but no. There was a partition between the balconys that was broken and banging in the wind the whole time. The shows aren't the Las Vegas type anymore but entertaining enough. The Bahamas is probably the most boring of all the cruise destinations. My son and his cousins did rent a couple jet skis by Atlantis and had a good time. Make sure you keep track of when you leave with the jet ski because we paid for an hour and they called my son in after 35 min. I complained to the guy and they let him go back out for another 20 min. Probably will be our last cruise. I would much rather go to an all-inclusive resort with no schedules or lines. Read Less

Boarding the ship was a smooth process. Disembarkation was also easy. It took us 20 minutes to get to our car from the time our section was called. They ran ahead of schedule and the process was quick and easy. All the staff in the ship were extremely nice. Our cabin steward was over the top nice and greeted us by our first names whenever he saw us. We never encounter any staff that were rude. They were always very kind and willing to help. Dining: I'm a celiac so I was a little worried about my food options. They went above and beyond to prepare food for me. Each night at diner I preorder for the next day. I never got sick from anything they prepared. They even had GF pizza available. All dining options were open to me. I give them an A+ for being able to accommodate a special allergy. Food Quality: The buffets and pizza were quite good. There was always a tasty snack available. The food in the main dining room was average. That being said we never went hungry. Entertainment: The dancers and singers were good except the productions were weak. Whoever was putting the productions together didn't do that great of a job. The rest of the shows were ok. We did a lot of the comedy shows. Some were good. Some were not. We had no issue with the cabin. It was clean. The bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of room for the 2 of us. We had a balcony which was nice. Read Less

We met our steward that first night and and he was very nice and helpful. The ship is very easy to manage as I have sailed on her 2x before out of San Juan....she is starting to show her age but was kept very clean by the staff...all of the staff were great and friendly .. one of my complaints was the food in the dinning room...it was not up to par...there were deep fried onion rings on the prime rib and they had deep fried shrimp on the menu ...imo those items should be at the buffet...the turkey was processed meat and almost inedible...the buffet had better items... our 1st day was at sea and there were plenty of loungers to be found if you walked around and the waiters were at your beck and call... The comedy club was good I really enjoyed it...the guy singing in the Irish seas piano bar was mediocre at best... we hired someone to take us around Nassau for $25 ea and enjoyed it a lot...we booked a jeep tour in Freeport with Carnival and it was great...our guide was Bradley and he was very informative and we really enjoyed it...I recommend this tour ... debarkation in port canavral was a mess and took forever...I was glad that we weren't flying out...we didn't get to our car until noon...very disappointed in how unorganized that was...
