Carnival Magic Inaugral Cruise

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Carnival Magic

The Carnival Magic's sister ship, the DREAM, had been our latest favorite in the Carnival fleet. We think the changes/enhancements made to the MAGIC have now made this new ship our favorite. We had the pleasure of watching this brand new ship arrive in Venice. We had heard that it would arrive the morning before our departure, so several of us hoofed it to St. Mark's Square and watched her come ...

BACKGROUND-We are a married couple (42m/38f) from Nashville, Tn. This was our 7th cruise but our first cruise overseas. We are generally an active beach going couple that enjoy sitting on the beaches and taking it easy so we knew this was going to be a little different trip for us. FLIGHTS/HOTEL- We flew from Nashville to Venice via JKF and Madrid 2 days prior to sailing. Flights were ...

The Carnival Magic is another great Carnival ship. We cannot comment on Venice as we had no time in this city due to flight cancellations and changes. We barely made it to the ship on time. Took a cab directly from the airport to the ship for 4 people with 4 large and 4 carry on luggage was 60 euros, tip inclusive. Great deal I thought. We had pre-purchased Water Taxi and Vaporetto passes, but ...

Inaugural Carnival Magic Cruise - May 1, 2011

This ship was nice and obviously brand new when we got on. Boarding was a breeze. Everything smelled like it was installed yesterday, which for most things, they were. We had an Inside Spa room which was a fine size. Unlimited access to Spa amenities was nice. Issue was they weren't ready for us and there were no bed skirts, but that was fixed when I asked for some and they got them for us. ...

We always wanted to visit Italy and when we found out we could also be on a ship's Inaugural Cruise we thought that was an opportunity not to be passed up. We really didn't know what we were in for being on the first cruise of a ship, but to be honest, with very few exceptions, and some special events, you wouldn't have even noticed it was the first time out for the ship and crew. Embarkation ...

Only Cruised Disney- How Will Carnival Stack Up?

We were on the inaugural cruise of the Carnival Magic. Having previously taken only a Disney Mediterranean cruise in the past, we were apprehensive about switching to Carnival. We had heard varying things about the lower quality service, entertainment, staterooms, etc. Here is what we thought of the new ship.Service- Our stateroom host was great. The room was cleaned twice daily, promptly and ...

After reading several negative reviews about the Magic, I must say I am stunned and amazed at what people will complain about. I suppose you just can't make everyone happy, no matter how hard you try. We sailed on the Carnival Magic in May through the Western Mediterranean. I thought Carnival did a great job with this, their newest ship. I, for one, am very happy with the direction Carnival is ...

Arrived in Venice Monday evening (had planned to arrive Monday morning but missed flight from Catania, Sicily...misjudged traffic snarls in Sicily!) Check-in went very smoothly, probably due to the late arrival. We (two ladies, 50ish and 60ish) booked this cruise at a rockbottom price and expected to be lodged in the bowels of the ship! What a pleasant surprise to open the door to a twin room on ...

This was the inaugural sailing of the Carnival Freedom and we had an absolutely wonderful time from embarkation to debarkation! We traveled to the pier via bus, the transfer was uneventful. Upon arrival at the pier we noticed it was quite a distance from where the bus let us off to where we actually entered the terminal building and then to get to the ship they shuttled us on a bus along the pier. ...

My experience on this ship was primarily a negative one. A co-worker and I shared a interior cabin. She is in her late 20's I am in my early 40's. The medium age on this ship was close to 60. Although we requested two twin beds when we arrived we had a double bed. This was corrected immediately and I have to say that for the most part the service we received was good. Most of the staff was ...
