GREAT 5 DAY CRUISE TO MEXICO FROM NEW ORLEANS

Travelled from England with 4 friends to Memphis, took the Amtrack train to New Orleans and after a 3 night break boarded the Carnival Valor for 5 night cruise. If you want a fun, casual and informal cruise would recommend. Was a bit apprehensive when we first boarded and made our way to the Lido and buffet, it was so busy but once we were in our cabins and got settled into sealife we had a ...

What a piece of junk! Needs refurbished, or at least fixed. I never thought it possible for a cruise ships food to be so terrible. The biscuits resembled hardtack not actual biscuits. The crew is either complete novices, or imbeciles. Dining service was cold and had no feeling. Food was terrible. The breakfast buffet was yesterday's leftovers, and the breakfast brunch in Washington dining ...

My wife and I had been on this ship in September and it was one of our best cruises. We booked a balcony cabin on deck 10. Some are concerned about the noise from the LIdo deck when you book in this location, but we didn't find it to be a problem on this cruise or the last (on the same deck). Last cruise on the Valor in September, we never made it to the main dining room, but we made a point ...

Embarkation/debarkation. No complaints. New Orleans has this down pat. Carnival should take what NOLA does and clone it for all their other ports. Ship. Before I go further, I must make it clear I am a fan of the older, smaller fantasy class Carnival ships, the Elation in particular. The Valor. My first time aboard her. She is a pretty ship. Decor is less 70's Vegas than the fantasy class, which ...

I choose this cruise for a mommy and daughter's birthday present. Embarkation was a BREEZE!! Once aboard, we immediately grabbed something to eat from Guy's burgers. Yes, it is soo good. As we walked around the ship, we found the layout was weird on certain floors. We could not get into our cabin until exactly 1:30 pm which was fine by me. Our cabin was nice, clean and dated, but you get what you ...

The purpose of this cruise was relaxation ,Carnival came through during our 5 days on board. We parked at NOLA cruise terminal $110 for 5 days. Embarkation: very efficient,20 minutes from parking to being on board, including bathroom break. Gone are the days of waiting in endless line for check in,take photos obtain sign & sail card. The Carnival Valor was the ninth ship and cruise for my wife and I (4th Carnival). We have never had a crew as friendly and helpful as the crew on the Valor. Hendrianna who took care of our cabin and was always around wanting to help and make sure everything was good. We were in an Ocean Suite on the 7th deck. Also, Eddie in the buffet. Every morning Eddie was there to help. I use a cane and ...

We chose this cruise because the price was good. We got what we paid for. We were very disappointed in the lack of activities. Most of the activities cost money. Not much to do for kids unless they go to the kids club. Bathrooms smell like urine and the shower didnt drain. Overall, food in buffet and main dining rooms wasnt impressive. Guy's burgers was about the best. Many of the ...

We live in New Orleans- so it was a perfect opportunity to go on a cheap cruise sailing out of our native port. Our group includes one young adult and two seniors. Embarking had a few hiccups for my family- we forgot a form of identification, so we were pulled aside and asked to wait in a side area while we asked one of our family members to retrieve the document for us at home. After we got ...

First Time Cruiser

We went on this cruise with a group, which we did not book. This was my first cruise and a five day cruise was a good way to see if I liked it. I will give the pros and cons of the ship. Pros: good food (not the buffet), fun atmosphere, entertainment is good, enough space for everyone, clean and comfortable rooms, the stateroom steward and staff were awesome, efficient in getting everyone on ...
