We chose this cruise as a short break to a place we'd always wanted to go... Tasmania. The fact that there was one day in Port Arthur followed by two in Hobart (the ship overnighted there) offered us more time in ports we wanted to go to than other Tassie cruises we considered.
We'd cruised on Carnival Spirit 3 times in the past: to Alaska and the Hawaiian Islands before the ship made Australia ...
First time cruisers. Everyone one said we would love it. You would if you like crass decor, overpriced drinks, second rate entertainment, hoards of people - mostly overweight, small swimming pools and buffet dinning that is just an excuse for a pigs trough.
The only redeeming features were the Truffles dinning room with excellent dinner service and the Noveau restaurant ($45 extra).
Very ...
I just read the Vista Suite December 2017 review and it is exactly what we experienced. We were a party of 15 ranging from 19 months to early 60's and had booked 4 x Grand Suites, 1 x Ocean Suite and 1 x Balcony Cabin at a cost of $50,000 for the 10 night new year cruise. Never again on the Carnival Legend - food in main restaurant only lukewarm, room decor needs updating, carpets old and need a ...
We purchased this cruise thru a great deal which I am glad we didnt pay full price.
We wont be doing another Carnival cruise. We have cruised with P&O & Princess. We thought P&O was average but Carnival is worse. At least on P&O & Princess there were adult only areas.
Our balcony suite was great & serviced well by Jose, he was very helpful & kind. BUT thats the highest compliment I can ...
This was my best friends significant birthday cruise. 2 couples booked Vista Suites with 1 couple booking a Balcony suite for the occasion with no children. The Legend's décor is quite gaudy all the way through the ship and I understand the Legend theme, but it is not classy. The ship is very tired and in desperate need of a makeover top to toe. Vista Suite was not a bad size, but you are ...
My husband wasn't really sold on going on a cruise for a family holiday, however I talked him into as I'd previously been on one prior. I think the Carnival Legend was the wrong ship for me to introduce him to cruising as I don't think he'll be sold on going on another one.
Although the staff were friendly and helpful the ship was a great big let down. It is old and tired and in need of ...
We chose this cruise as a fun and easy way to go to the Melbourne Cup. It was but the ship itself is awful.
When I first stepped onto this ship all I could smell was deep fat frying. Our friends that we were travelling with also mentioned the same thing, unprompted by us. It's not a good start.
All I could see when we stepped on was people getting plastered at the "Pub". Also not a good ...
We heard the Carnival cruises were good off our friends but P&O cruises seem to have way better entertainment. Especially on a three day cruise and the night life is way better with entertainment at bars. The food was average. Again, it was better on P&O. I wouldn't go on a carnival cruise again & drinks are way over priced as well. One of our passengers pulled out last minute because he's legally ...
This was a short cruise to celebrate our anniversary. Unfortunately we had terrible weather which was not Carnival's fault obviously. We are in our 50s and definitely the wrong demographic for Carnival. Dining room and buffet were very chaotic experiences. We did have a lovely dinner in the Nouveau Restaurant but the food in the dining room was very average.
Only one room clean per day where ...
We chose this cruise line for a family cruise, for us, our children and grandchildren in July 2017. We are experienced cruisers, as we have done several previously with other cruise lines. Having read some of the reviews of this ship, I cannot believe we traveled on the same ship!!!!! The food was strictly boarding school quality, frankly it was dreadful and uninteresting. The serving staff often ...
