First and last time on Carnival Spirit

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Carnival Spirit

Wanted to try a different cruise line after being with Princess Cruises. Thought Fun ship that's different. Well not what I call fun. Getting pushed out of way by kids and parents. Kids running up and down hallways and up and down stairs pushing elevator buttons. Embarkation was average to say the least. Cabin was clean ad tidy but smaller then I was expecting We had anytime dinning ...

Just back from our Carnival Spirit cruise to New Caledonia and Vanuatu (August 2018). Once again another very good cruise experience on the Carnival Spirit. The Carnival Spirit is very well organised, staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is very good standard and available at very good times. Entertainment was great. The Carnival Spirit is a step ahead in terms of quality over the ...

Great first time cruise experience

My partner and I were looking for a relaxing packaged holiday where we could just put our feet up and relax. As my partner is expecting a baby we were somewhat limited for choice because of the Zika virus, so the decision to join the cruise was made. Although we were a little anxious and skeptical about how much we would enjoy it as a cruise is not the usual kind of travel we do, we both ...

First and Last Carnival

I chose this cruise because I hadn't tried the Carnival brand yet. I have cruised 37 times now, across 7 different brands. I had been warned about the dark decor, and yes, the majority of the ship has dark decor. There is a webcam on the midship Lido pool, that streams live into all the cabins - like the ship's webcam at the front. I thought this was VERY weird and unnecessary. It also ...

Terrific cruise despite negative commentaries

Despite reading negative commentary about Carnival and the Sprint our recent experience in early August from Sydney to the Coral Sea and back was excellent. The cabin and location was all we needed, a big balcony was terrific as we spend a great deal of time there, service provided by the cabin stewards was as good, if not better than we have enjoyed on other cruise lines. Where Carnival find ...

Meet & Mingle on Carnival Spirit

I must say from the outset that we had sail on the Spirit on about 5 or 6 other occasions. It was disappointing to see the cost cutting that has taken place and onboard price rises for beer, wine and other things. The shows over the ten nights were ok but it looks like guest artists have now gone by the wayside. The MDR menu seems to have also down sized, the meal services was also slow and ...

A last minute choice as we would normally do a road trip to Queensland this time of year (Australian Winter). Had only done 2 cruises previously 1 on Azamara Journey....Athens to Barcelona and 2 Celebrity Millenium Singapore to Hong Kong. Price for this local cruise was a big factor and we weren't disappointed with anything. Boarding was very smooth and efficient all tendering and ...

Crew helpful and efficient but management weird

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Carnival Spirit

The embarkation process was efficient but the security checking staff need to improve their manners and consideration of elderly passengers, and try to emulate their counterparts at airport security checks. Dining in Empire rooms unsatisfactory, queues to get in, noisy loudspeaker announcements and meat and fish dishes sometimes tortured. Exactly the same dishes available in better condition in ...

My daughter (7) and I (35M) got a great deal on this cruise. We figured it would be a good way to kill time during school holidays and were not wrong. The ship had a great atmosphere with happy cruisers, excellent service and fun entertainment. I Getting on and off the ship was very fast. We had the "Faster to the Fun" package, and I highly recommend it. No lines, anywhere! It took less than 10 ...

A tired, old, dark & gloomy ship

Having cruised before, I was really excited about taking my adult daughter on her first cruise. This trip was so disappointing. I had heard of the queues on cruise ships but never experienced them until this trip. A diabolical nightmare embarking and a line wait for absolutely everything. The only time we didn't wait for anything was attending a show and I was stunned to see the theatre half ...
