We flew to Florida and spent one night before we went to the ship. Our hotel was ok but we later found out from another long time cruiser that we paid about 300.00 more than we should have for transportation. Lesson learned on how to do that part without shuttle costs :(
I cant say enough about how smoothly the embarkation and disembarkation went. We were three people and literally never hit a ...
The Carnival Sunshine is a make-over of the Carnival Destiny. I am Platinum card holder with Carnival and have sailed on the Destiny in the past. Here are some pros & cons of the make-over.
Pros - Sports Deck (waterslides and kid's fun area) and serenity decks. Cons are: old lounge area for the Punchliner was converted into rooms, forcing lots of people into the smaller Limelight lounge, ...
We have sailed the same itinerary twice now (Roatan, Costa Maya, Belize, Cozumel) and probably will avoid it in future.
Belize is pretty much a yawn after you've done the Mayan ruins excursion. The city is grubby and the port area shopping full of the usual suspects.
Costa Maya is improving, but there still isn't much to do other than beach-related and booze-related activities.
Roatan ...
Went out of Port Canaveral two days after Thanksgiving and my firstr time on Sunshine altho I had cruised on Destiny 2 times. I liked what they had done during the changeover and the hallways and cabins doors made more of a nautical feel. Serenity area was amazing and hope Carnival goes to this in the future. There was some bottlenecks around the Guys and Cantina but manageable. Can't stop ...
After reading so many negative reviews about Sunshine, I was a little worried about taking this cruise. Being a frequent cruiser on Carnival (platinum), RCCL, and NCL and having few bad experiences, really wasn't sure I wanted to take a chance on Sunshine. Glad I did! My husband, sister, son and dil went as well and I think I can also speak for them. Arrived at port about 10:30 after parking ...
This is our 3rd time with Carnival. Overall we had a very good experience. We used a separate transfer service because of our flight times. The embarkation and debarkation processes were smooth and the wait was no longer than we should expect for the number of people. Both took about 45 minutes and were very organized. No problems with our room or cleanliness. One complaint we had was one ...
Starting at the beginning, the airport transfer was a bit confusing only because the cruise attendants at the airport did not provide adequate direction regarding the location of the ground transportation desk and there was no signage in the airport. Once the transfer ticket was obtained, the bus ride and the embarkation process were comfortable, smooth and efficient. We were in our state room ...
My wife and I just got back from a 7 night cruise to the Western Caribbean (Cozumel, Honduras, Belize, and Costa Maya). We have taken taken 8 cruises in the past 10 years. We booked this cruise primarily for the ports of Honduras and Belize. (More on that later).
Carnival Sunshine was a smaller ship with all of the 2.0 upgrades. The retrofit of all of the upgrades created many tight spaces ...
We cruised to Cozumel, Belize, Roatan, and Costa Maya on the Carnival Sunshine. I would first like to say that the crew was amazing. Everyone was so nice, and happy to accommodate us. The ship lacked in a few areas. The inside areas were very hot. Not a lot of cool air was to be found. Our cabin air did not work well at all. The process for any time dining was odd. You had to go to 5th floor, wait ...
Cruised many times with Carnival and love this company. Boat was booked and crowded. Stayed in a balcony room for the second time and will go back to interior as the balcony cut down the size of the room. Room steward was below par this time but dining experience was amazing. Enjoyed the ports of call and the embarkation and debarkation went smoothly. Casino host took excellent care of us but ...
