We sailed on the Carnival Sunshine once in the past. We were lured into the "first evening special" of the free bottle of wine if you eat at the steakhouse. We were impressed then by the service, ambiance, and appetizers, but the overall evening was diminished by the quality of the entrees.

This was our first bad cruise through Carnival. The negativity is directly related to the ship. The ship is crowded. The comedy shows are great but the seating is by far the worst I have seen. This was our second cruise on the Sunshine. We are Platinum level with Carnival. Having sailed almost all the class of ships in the Carnival line-up, the Sunshine has found the set spot.
The 2.0 upgrades fit perfectly and the problems with the larger ships aren't as present.

We were on the Glory in Jan 2014 and they looped a story about Sunshine over and over on our tv. So we booked.
