We drove up to cocoa beach the night before and stayed at International Palms that had a park and stay option, if you wanted to park your car off port. Embarkation went more smoothly than past cruises and were on the ship within 30 minutes after arriving to port and dropping bags off.
We chose the Carnival Sunshine because of the ports it traveled to interested us the most. Our favorite ...
My wife and I are frequent cruisers, about five per year the past couple of years. We tend to gravitate toward NCL and are platinum with them. We chose the Sunshine mostly because we thought our eight year old Grandson would like the amenities as well as the port being convenient to our residence. Overall, we did have a good time, not sure how to have a bad one on a cruise ...
It's been a year since our last cruise and MY things have changed! The Embarkation process was so different. Our passports were scanned first, then we went through security and got our Sign & Sail passes AFTER we boarded. It was pretty easy and pretty cool! No more clunky machines. IPads now scan your entire room onto the ship. Easy peasy!
Now, I normally don't write reviews but I heard a lot ...
The Carnival Sunshine is a Destiny-Class ship that was originally designed to carry 2,600 passengers. After a $150M refit and rechristening in 2013, space to fit 400 more passengers was added—a more than 15% increase in passenger capacity—but no more crew were added and it certainly appears no more space in the common areas was added to accommodate that increase. As a result, every day on the ...
This was a 8 day cruise and we choose this cruise because we a cruisers who love Carnival Fun atomosphere and the vibe. We went on a family cruise on the sunshine leaving in July. From arriving to the terminal to board, the ship was an hour late so we were cramming into the terminal waiting areas, the "wedding staff" there was EXTREMELY rude! We had one lady telling us to sit down, that they wouldn't start boarding until EVERYONE was sitting down, but they only had available seats near a "wedding party" sign was ...
I thoroughly enjoyed this cruise. Had seen several bad reviews, but made up my mind that I would have fun and I did.
The food, as a whole was very good to excellent. Even food on the Lido deck was good, better than previous cruises on other Carnival ships.
Typically ate breakfast and dinner in the dining room and lunch on the Lido deck. Always good service, but not always fast. ...
We chose this cruise for the ship and ports; 8 days, three ports of Aruba, Curacao, and Amber Cove. This was our fifth time sailing on Sunshine though the first two was when she was known as Destiny. We enjoyed her so much that we booked two more cruises on her for next year as well as another on Breeze.
In Curacao we went to an all inclusive. Very good day there.
In Aruba we went to Palm ...
This was our tenth cruise on Carnival. We were on an 8-day Southern Caribbean itinerary during the week of July 20-28, 2018. Our ports were Aruba, Curacao, Amber Cove. We left from Orlando on a Friday afternoon.
Passengers: 3000 plus on our sailing. Standard Carnival mix of passengers but with a much younger crowd this time. Also, the Elite and Premier Gambling groups were onboard. (first ...
The embarkation in Port Canaveral was very organized but anything that went smooth all week was quickly forgotten today during disembarkation. We were in port for over 4 hours before the "carry your own luggage off" group was called to leave. There were no explanations or updates about the delay from the cruise director , "Jess from the U.S." Many passengers were yelling down to deck 3 asking for ...
